It's the first time CNN ever said "We don't want to insult your intelligence" to the public. Too late I think.

And what an intelligent statement from Rice using a double negative "nothing to nobody" instead of "nothing to anybody". Geesh... :headbash:
Some astute news commentator said last night that Susan Rice was highly educated and knew proper grammar, so her use of a double negative was intentional because a double negative equals a positive statement. In other words, Rice said the equivalent of, "I leaked something to everybody"!

It certainly makes you wonder if that is not the intention doesn't it. It's even a more in you face mocking kind of a thing. It's almost psychopathic.

Well, such statements seem to be a typical move for people who are hiding something. In the great book "Spy the Lie: Former CIA Officers Teach You How to Detect Deception" (ironically published by former CIA people), which talks about various signs that someone is lying, we find this:

DENIAL PROBLEMS. Closely related to the failure to answer is the absence of an explicit denial of something in your question that involves an act of wrongdoing, or has consequences associated with it.
...
- Nonspecific denial. If the “no” statement is delivered in a way that’s more of a general focus than a specific expression of denial of the matter at hand (“I didn’t do anything,” “I would never do something like that”), that’s also significant. It’s subtle, but if a person says he didn’t do anything, psychologically he’s letting himself off the hook so he doesn’t have to tell the bald-faced lie, “I didn’t do it.” It’s a nuance that’s easily missed by an untrained ear.

- Isolated delivery of denial. If in response to a question about wrongdoing, a person gives you a “no” response, but buries it in a long-winded answer, that’s important. If the percentage of the answer that relates to the denial is relatively small, that’s a bad thing. Consider it a deceptive indicator.

And also:

INAPPROPRIATE LEVEL OF CONCERN. If the facts are not a person’s ally, he’s put into a hole from which he needs to try to extricate himself. A person in this position doesn’t have much going for him, so he might resort to a strategy of attempting to diminish the importance of the issue. Typically, he’ll focus on either the issue or the process, and try to equalize the exchange by doing the questioning: “Why is this such a big deal?” or “Why is everybody worried about that?” The person might even attempt to joke about the issue, which can be especially inappropriate.

...
ROCESS OR PROCEDURAL COMPLAINTS. Sometimes, a person won’t necessarily go on the attack, but will still attempt to play offense rather than defense by taking issue with the proceedings.

It's interesting to observe how these media pundits and politicians consistently show all the red flags outlined in the book. The authors also note that these are subconscious things, and even if you know about the ways to detect these signs, you just can't help showing them.

The constant onslaught of lying media shills like Don Lemon and lying psychopaths like Rice and Farkas is enough to make your head spin, if you believe them-- and hurt if you don't. And my head's been hurting a lot lately.

The smug lying of Don Lemon et al brought to mind these comments in "The Psychopath: The Mask of Sanity" (http://www.cassiopaea.com/cassiopaea/psychopath.htm):

What kind of psychological weaknesses drive people to prefer lies over truth?

This may have something to do with what is called Cognitive Dissonance. Leon Festinger developed the theory of Cognitive Dissonance in the 50's when he apparently stumbled onto a UFO cult in the Midwest. They were prophesying a coming world cataclysm and "alien rapture." When no one was raptured and no cataclysm he studied the believers response, and detailed it in his book "When Prophecy Fails." Festinger observed:

A man with a conviction is a hard man to change. Tell him you disagree and he turns away. Show him facts or figures and he questions your sources. Appeal to logic and he fails to see your point.

We have all experienced the futility of trying to change a strong conviction, especially if the convinced person has some investment in his belief. We are familiar with the variety of ingenious defenses with which people protect their convictions, managing to keep them unscathed through the most devastating attacks.

But man's resourcefulness goes beyond simply protecting a belief. Suppose an individual believes something with his whole heart; suppose further that he has a commitment to this belief, that he has taken irrevocable actions because of it; finally, suppose that he is presented with evidence, unequivocal and undeniable evidence, that his belief is wrong: what will happen?

The individual will frequently emerge, not only unshaken, but even more convinced of the truth of his beliefs than ever before. Indeed, he may even show a new fervor about convincing and converting other people to his view.

It seems that part of the problem has to do with ego and the need to be "right." People with a high "need to be right" or "perfect" seem to be unable to acknowledge that they have been conned. "There is no crime in the cynical American more humiliating than to be a sucker." People will go along with and support a psychopath, in the face of evidence that they have and ARE being conned, because their own ego structure depends on being right, and to admit an error of judgment would destroy their carefully constructed image of themselves.

And the twisted back-peddling by Rice and Farkas (_https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/mike-ciandella/2017/03/30/former-obama-official-stumbles-while-trying-backtrack-after) reminds me of this:

What makes psychopaths different from all others is the remarkable ease with which they lie, the pervasiveness of their deception, and the callousness with which they carry it out.

But there is something else about the speech of psychopaths that is equally puzzling: their frequent use of contradictory and logically inconsistent statements that usually escape detection. Recent research on the language of psychopaths provides us with some important clues to this puzzle, as well as to the uncanny ability psychopaths have to move words - and people- around so easily. […]

Here are some examples:
When asked if he had ever committed a violent offense, a man serving time for theft answered, "No, but I once had to kill someone."

A woman with a staggering record of fraud, deceit, lies, and broken promises [i.e. Hillary] concluded a letter to the parole board with, "I've let a lot of people down… One is only as good as her reputation and name. My word is as good as gold."

A man serving a term for armed robbery replied to the testimony of an eyewitness, "He's lying. I wasn't there. I should have blown his -flicking- head off."

From an interview with serial killer Elmer Wayne Henley:
Interviewer: "You make it out that you're the victim of a serial killer, but if you look at the record you're a serial killer."
Henley: "I'm not."
I: "You're not a serial killer?"
H: "I'm not a serial killer."
I: You're saying you're not a serial killer now, but you've serially killed."
H: "Well, yeah, that's semantics."

And so on. The point that the researchers noted was that psychopaths seem to have trouble monitoring their own speech.

Psychopaths just have what it takes to defraud and bilk others: they can be fast talkers, they can be charming, they can be self-assured and at ease in social situations; they are cool under pressure, unfazed by the possibility of being found out, and totally ruthless. And even when they are exposed, they can carry on as if nothing has happened, often making their accusers the targets of accusations of being victimized by THEM.

I was once dumbfounded by the logic of an inmate who described his murder victim as having benefited from the crime by learning "a hard lesson about life." - Robert Hare

According to this article, (if true) suggests the surveillance by the Obama Administration actually began during the Iran Deal. Then was used to monitor it's political opponents and the U.S. Presidential Election.

Did the Obama Administration’s Abuse of Foreign-Intelligence Collection Start Before Trump?
_http://www.tabletmag.com/jewish-life-and-religion/228203/a-passover-do-over

April 4, 2017 - The accusation that the Obama administration used information gleaned from classified foreign surveillance to smear and blackmail its political opponents at home has gained new traction in recent days, after reports that former National Security Adviser Susan Rice may have been rifling through classified transcripts for over a year that could have included information about Donald Trump and his associates. While using resources that are supposed to keep Americans safe from terrorism for other purposes may be a dereliction of duty, it is no more of a crime than spending all day on Twitter instead of doing your job. The crime here would be if she leaked the names of U.S. citizens to reporters. In the end, the seriousness of the accusation against Rice and other former administration officials who will be caught up in the “unmasking” scandal will rise or fall based on whether or not Donald Trump was actively engaged in a conspiracy to turn over the keys of the White House to the Kremlin. For true believers in the Trump-Kremlin conspiracy theories, the Obama “spying and lying” scandal isn’t a scandal at all; just public officials taking prudent steps to guard against an imminent threat to the republic.

But what if Donald Trump wasn’t the first or only target of an Obama White House campaign of spying and illegal leaks directed at domestic political opponents?

In a December 29, 2015 article, The Wall Street Journal described how the Obama administration had conducted surveillance on Israeli officials to understand how Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials, like Ambassador Ron Dermer, intended to fight the Iran Deal. The Journal reported that the targeting “also swept up the contents of some of their private conversations with U.S. lawmakers and American-Jewish groups.”

Despite this reporting, it seemed inconceivable at the time that—given myriad legal, ethical, political, and historical concerns, as well as strict National Security Agency protocols that protect the identity of American names caught in intercepts—the Obama White House would have actually spied on American citizens. In a December 31, 2016, Tablet article on the controversy, “Why the White House Wanted Congress to Think It Was Being Spied on By the NSA,” I argued that the Obama administration had merely used the appearance of spying on American lawmakers to corner opponents of the Iran Deal. Spying on U.S. citizens would be a clear abuse of the foreign-intelligence surveillance system. It would be a felony offense to leak the names of U.S. citizens to the press.

Increasingly, I believe that my conclusion in that piece was wrong. I believe the spying was real and that it was done not in an effort to keep the country safe from threats—but in order to help the White House fight their domestic political opponents.

“At some point, the administration weaponized the NSA’s legitimate monitoring of communications of foreign officials to stay one step ahead of domestic political opponents,” says a pro-Israel political operative who was deeply involved in the day-to-day fight over the Iran Deal. “The NSA’s collections of foreigners became a means of gathering real-time intelligence on Americans engaged in perfectly legitimate political activism—activism, due to the nature of the issue, that naturally involved conversations with foreigners. We began to notice the White House was responding immediately, sometimes within 24 hours, to specific conversations we were having. At first, we thought it was a coincidence being amplified by our own paranoia. After a while, it simply became our working assumption that we were being spied on.”

This is what systematic abuse of foreign-intelligence collection for domestic political purposes looks like: Intelligence collected on Americans, lawmakers, and figures in the pro-Israel community was fed back to the Obama White House as part of its political operations. The administration got the drop on its opponents by using classified information, which it then used to draw up its own game plan to block and freeze those on the other side. And—with the help of certain journalists whose stories (and thus careers) depend on high-level access—terrorize them.

Once you understand how this may have worked, it becomes easier to comprehend why and how we keep being fed daily treats of Trump’s nefarious Russia ties. The issue this time isn’t Israel, but Russia, yet the basic contours may very well be the same.

***
Two inquiries now underway on Capitol Hill, conducted by the Senate intelligence committee and the House intelligence committee, may discover the extent to which Obama administration officials unmasked the identities of Trump team members caught in foreign-intelligence intercepts. What we know so far is that Obama administration officials unmasked the identity of one Trump team member, Michael Flynn, and leaked his name to the Washington Post’s David Ignatius.

“According to a senior U.S. government official,” Ignatius wrote in his Jan. 12 column, “Flynn phoned Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak several times on Dec. 29, the day the Obama administration announced the expulsion of 35 Russian officials as well as other measures in retaliation for the hacking. What did Flynn say, and did it undercut the U.S. sanctions?”

Nothing, the Times and the Post later reported. But exposing Flynn’s name in the intercept for political purposes was an abuse of the national-security apparatus, and leaking it to the press is a crime.

This is familiar territory. In spying on the representatives of the American people and members of the pro-Israel community, the Obama administration learned how far it could go in manipulating the foreign-intelligence surveillance apparatus for its own domestic political advantage. In both instances, the ostensible targets—Israel and Russia—were simply instruments used to go after the real targets at home.

In order to spy on U.S. congressmen before the Iran Deal vote, the Obama administration exploited a loophole which is described in the original Journal article. The U.S. intelligence community is supposed to keep tabs on foreign officials, even those representing allies. Hence, everyone in Washington knows that Israeli Ambassador Ron Dermer is under surveillance. But it’s different for his American interlocutors, especially U.S. lawmakers, whose identities are, according to NSA protocol, supposed to be, at the very least, redacted. But the standard for collecting and disseminating “intercepted communications involving U.S. lawmakers” is much less strict if it is swept up through “foreign-foreign” intercepts, for instance between a foreign ambassador and his capital. Washington, i.e. the seat of the American government, is where foreign ambassadors are supposed to meet with American officials. The Obama administration turned an ancient diplomatic convention inside out—foreign ambassadors were so dangerous that meeting them signaled betrayal of your own country.

During the long and contentious lead-up to the Iran Deal the Israeli ambassador was regularly briefing senior officials in Jerusalem, including the prime minister, about the situation, including his meetings with American lawmakers and Jewish community leaders. The Obama administration would be less interested in what the Israelis were doing than in the actions of those who actually had the ability to block the deal—namely, Senate and House members. The administration then fed this information to members of the press, who were happy to relay thinly veiled anti-Semitic conceits by accusing deal opponents of dual loyalty and being in the pay of foreign interests.

It didn’t take much imagination for members of Congress to imagine their names being inserted in the Iran deal echo chamber’s boilerplate—that they were beholden to “donors” and “foreign lobbies.” What would happen if the White House leaked your phone call with the Israeli ambassador to a friendly reporter, and you were then profiled as betraying the interests of your constituents and the security of your nation to a foreign power? What if the fact of your phone call appeared under the byline of a famous columnist friendly to the Obama administration, say, in a major national publication?

To make its case for the Iran Deal, the Obama administration redefined America’s pro-Israel community as agents of Israel. They did something similar with Trump and the Russians—whereby every Russian with money was defined as an agent of the state. Where the Israeli ambassador once was poison, now the Russian ambassador is the kiss of death—a phone call with him led to Flynn’s departure from the White House and a meeting with him landed Attorney General Jeff Sessions in hot water.

Did Trump really have dealings with FSB officers? Thanks to the administration’s whisper campaigns, the facts don’t matter; that kind of contact is no longer needed to justify surveillance, whose spoils could then be weaponized and leaked. There are oligarchs who live in Trump Tower, and they all know Putin—ergo, talking to them is tantamount to dealing with the Russian state.

Yet there is one key difference between the two information operations that abused the foreign-intelligence surveillance apparatus for political purposes. The campaign to sell the Iran deal was waged while the Obama administration was in office. The campaign to tie down Trump with the false Russia narrative was put together as the Obama team was on its way out.

The intelligence gathered from Iran Deal surveillance was shared with the fewest people possible inside the administration. It was leaked to only a few top-shelf reporters, like the authors of The Wall Street Journal article, who showed how the administration exploited a loophole to spy on Congress. Congressmen and their staffs certainly noticed, as did the Jewish organizations that were being spied on. But the campaign was mostly conducted sotto voce, through whispers and leaks that made it clear what the price of opposition might be.

The reason the prior abuse of the foreign-intelligence surveillance apparatus is clear only now is because the Russia campaign has illuminated it. As The New York Times reported last month, the administration distributed the intelligence gathered on the Trump transition team widely throughout government agencies, after it had changed the rules on distributing intercepted communications. The point of distributing the information so widely was to “preserve it,” the administration and its friends in the press explained—“preserve” being a euphemism for “leak.” The Obama team seems not to have understood that in proliferating that material they have exposed themselves to risk, by creating a potential criminal trail that may expose systematic abuse of foreign-intelligence collection.

Just speculation: Considering the Obama administration's extensive spying, including on Flynn's activities with Turkey and that on November 8, 2016, Flynn published a pro-Turkey editorial in The Hill, a newspaper which focuses on Capitol Hill and US lawmaking, entitled "Our ally Turkey is in crisis and needs our support" - would there be any U.S. connection - five weeks later - to the December 19, 2016 Assassination of Russian Ambassador to Turkey, Andrey Karlov?

Then ten days later, from a statement in the article above, “Flynn phoned Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak several times on Dec. 29, the day the Obama administration announced the expulsion of 35 Russian officials as well as other measures in retaliation for the hacking.

Two months later, on Feb. 20th - a day before his 65th Birthday, Vitaly Churkin, who served as Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations suddenly dies of a heart attack at the UN headquarters in New York. Yet, there's no official word on the cause of death?

(Sounds more like an Foreign-Intelligence Obama/Killary hit-list?)

O'Reilly is hardly the candidate for the above:
Fox Losing More Advertisers After Sexual Harassment Claims Against O’Reilly

Pressure mounted on Tuesday for Fox News to take action against its top-rated host, Bill O’Reilly, as a series of prominent companies pulled advertising from his show and a leading women’s rights group called for his ouster.

Following an investigation by The New York Times over the weekend that revealed multiple settlements over allegations of sexual harassment or other inappropriate behavior by Mr. O’Reilly, the network faced a major advertising revolt as more than a dozen marketers said that they were withdrawing their ads from “The O’Reilly Factor.” Escalating the tension, the National Organization for Women called for Mr. O’Reilly to be fired and said an independent investigation should be conducted into the culture at Fox News.

“Fox News is too big and too influential to simply let this go,” Terry O’Neill, the president of NOW, said in a statement.

And inside Fox News, three women who work in the newsroom said that the continued support of Mr. O’Reilly by Fox News and its parent company, 21st Century Fox, led them to question whether the company was committed to maintaining a work environment “based on trust and respect,” as executives had promised last summer after the network’s founding chairman, Roger E. Ailes, was ousted. The employees requested anonymity because they feared retaliation for speaking publicly.

The erosion of advertising support, along with pressure from advocacy groups, heightened the sense of uncertainty at Fox News, which for months has been trying to move beyond the sexual harassment scandal that led to the dismissal of Mr. Ailes. It also raised questions about how long 21st Century Fox will stand behind Mr. O’Reilly. Fox News signaled that it was trying to contain the controversy and working to restore relations with the network’s advertisers, noting that companies had reallocated their spending from Mr. O’Reilly’s program to other network shows.

“We value our partners and are working with them to address their current concerns about ‘The O’Reilly Factor,’” Paul Rittenberg, the executive vice president for advertising sales at Fox News, said in a statement. “At this time, the ad buys of those clients have been re-expressed into other FNC programs.”

If more advertisers leave the program, Fox News and 21st Century Fox may have to respond. Mr. O’Reilly, 67, is the network’s most visible star, leading a prime time programming slate that draws industry-leading ratings with its conservative commentary. “The O’Reilly Factor,” which draws almost 4 million viewers a night, generated more than $446 million in advertising revenue from 2014 through 2016, according to the research firm Kantar Media.

A spokesman for Mr. O’Reilly, Mark Fabiani, declined to comment on Tuesday. Mr. O’Reilly has said that the accusations against him are without merit and that his fame has made him a target “for those who would harm me and my employer, the Fox News Channel.” He did not address the issue on either his Monday night or Tuesday night broadcasts.

Mr. O’Reilly’s contract, which was set to expire this year, has been extended by 21st Century Fox, people familiar with the deal said. When the company agreed to the extension, it was aware of multiple settlements that had been reached with women who had complained about his behavior, and it structured the deal to include more leverage over his behavior, according to people familiar with the matter. Mr. O’Reilly earns about $18 million a year.

The advertising boycott and the public outcry echo what happened to the radio host Don Imus a decade ago over racially and sexually charged statements he made about the Rutgers University women’s basketball team. After a series of advertisers suspended their ads from his radio and television program, and NOW called for his ouster, NBCUniversal canceled the simulcast of his show on MSNBC. And at Fox News, the former host Glenn Beck left the network in 2011 after hundreds of advertisers refused to allow their ads on his program.

On Tuesday, multiple advocacy groups started campaigns targeting advertisers of “The O’Reilly Factor.” The Women’s March group posted a message on Twitter, encouraging people to use the term “#DropOReilly” to tell advertisers to pull their ads from the program and also encouraged people to share their own experiences with sexual harassment.

Trump defends Bill O'Reilly: 'I don't think Bill did anything wrong'

In an interview with The New York Times, Trump defended O'Reilly against new revelations that he, Fox News and parent company 21st Century Fox had paid a total of $13 million in settlements to five women who accused him of sexual harassment or verbal abuse.

"I think he's a person I know well — he is a good person," Trump told the Times. "I think he shouldn't have settled; personally I think he shouldn't have settled. Because you should have taken it all the way. I don't think Bill did anything wrong."

O'Reilly has denied the merits of all the claims against him, 21st Century Fox said in a statement.

Former President Barack Obama’s attempt to extend his influence beyond his presidency has received another blow from Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Sessions Seeks To Dismantle Obama’s Plan To Control Local Police Departments
http://www.westernjournalism.com/sessions-seeks-dismantle-obamas-plan-control-local-police-departments

In a March 31 memorandum made public this week, Sessions ordered the Justice Department to review agreements the Obama administration made with police departments who had been subject to high-profile incidents involving police officers. The agreements were the first step to developing consent orders to change police practices.

At the same time, the Justice Department sought a 90-day delay in a case in which the Obama administration worked with Baltimore city officials to develop a consent decree there that was spurred by the controversial Freddie Gray case in which a young black man died while in police custody.

Sessions said in his memo that while “local control and local accountability are necessary for effective policing, it is not the responsibility of the federal government to manage non-federal law enforcement agencies.”

The memo demands the Justice Department review all its prior police reform agreements “including collaborative investigations and prosecutions, grant making, technical assistance and training, compliance reviews, existing or contemplated consent decrees, and task force participation in order to ensure that they fully and effectively promote the principles” of the Trump administration.

[...] Baltimore was among the cities targeted by the Obama administration after police conduct triggered violent confrontations with citizens. Consent decrees in which police promised to make certain changes were reached with 14 police departments, including Ferguson, Mo.

In an unexpected statement made by the former COO of Goldman Sachs and current director of Trump’s National Economic Council, Gary Cohn told a private meeting with lawmakers on the Senate Banking Committee on Wednesday evening that he could support legislation breaking up the largest U.S. banks – a development that could provide support to congressional efforts to reinstate the Depression-era Glass-Steagall law – and impact if not so much his former employer, Goldman Sachs, whose depository business is relatively modest, then certainly the balance sheets of some of Goldman’s biggest competitors including JPM and BofA.

Gary Cohn Backs Reinstating Glass-Steagal, Breaking Up Big Banks
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-04-06/gary-cohn-backs-reinstating-glass-steagal-breaking-big-banks

According to Bloomberg, Cohn said he generally favors banking going back to how it was “when firms like Goldman focused on trading and underwriting securities, and companies such as Citigroup Inc. primarily issued loans.”

What Cohn may not have mentioned is that with rates as low as they are, issuing loans – i.e., profiting from the Net Interest Margin spread – remains far less profitable than trading and underwriting securities in a world in which virtually every “developed world” central banker is either directly spawned from Goldman, or is advised by an ex-Goldman employee,

The remarks surprised some senators and congressional aides who attended the Wednesday meeting, as they didn’t expect a former top Wall Street executive to speak favorably of proposals that would force banks to dramatically rethink how they do business.

Yet Cohn’s comments echo what Trump and Republican lawmakers have previously said about wanting to bring back the Glass-Steagall Act, the Depression-era law that kept bricks-and-mortar lending separate from investment banking for more than six decades.

As Bloomberg further notes, Wednesday’s Capitol Hill meeting with Cohn was arranged by Senate Banking Committee Chairman Mike Crapo, and included lawmakers from both political parties and their staffs. The discussion covered a wide range of topics, including financial regulations and overhauling the tax code, the people said.

A member of US Vice President Mike Pence’s security detail is facing disciplinary action after being caught attempting to covertly access the services of a sex worker at a Maryland hotel.

Secret Service Agent Protecting US Vice President Busted with Prostitute
https://sputniknews.com/society/201704061052378504-secret-service-agent-vp-prostitute-busted/

"We are exploring a full range of disciplinary action," a spokesman for the US Secret Service told the Washington Post.

The federal employee was off-duty when a hotel manager called law enforcement authorities to report questionable activity in one of the rooms, the National Post reported. The Secret Service agent has been stripped of security clearance and charged with solicitation. All aspects of sex work are illegal in the state of Maryland.

The Secret Service takes legal violations "very seriously," a spokesman said in a statement. The investigation will be handled by the Office of Professional Responsibility, an arm of the Justice Department.

Even if Maryland legally allowed sex work, the practice is still banned for agents employed by the Secret Service.

It is not clear whether the sex worker has been charged with wrongdoing.

Trump signs off on Montenegro's upcoming entry into NATO

_http://www.startribune.com/trump-signs-off-on-montenegro-s-upcoming-entry-into-nato/419159564/

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump has signed off on Montenegro's upcoming accession into NATO, helping pave the way for the military alliance's expansion in the Balkans.

The White House says in a statement that Trump looks forward to welcoming Montenegro as the 29th member of the NATO alliance at next month's meeting in Brussels.

The Senate in March voted overwhelmingly to ratify the tiny Balkan nation's entry into the alliance.

Russia strongly opposes the expansion of the Western military alliance in a region it considers part of its strategic sphere of interest.

Trump's move comes ahead of his White House meeting on Wednesday with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg

Montenegro's NATO membership important for keeping Russia at bay - McCain

Montenegro's accession to NATO is vital for regional stability and the joint effort of the Western allies to resist a resurgent Russia, U.S. Senator John McCain said on Wednesday.

The visit of McCain, the Republican chairman of the influential Senate Armed Services Committee, to Montenegro comes a day after U.S. President Donald Trump signed the U.S. ratification for the tiny Adriatic republic's accession to NATO, which Russia opposed.

"There is also evidence that Russians are trying to undermine the democratic process in other parts of the world," McCain told reporters.

"I believe the Russian behavior requires our solidarity and our strength, in order to preserve principles and fundamentals of democracy," McCain said.

Montenegro has population of 650,000 and a military of only 2,000, but it is strategically positioned along the Adriatic coast and surrounded by NATO members or hopefuls, except Serbia which maintains a military neutrality.

The U.S. Senate backed Montenegro's bid to join the alliance last month.

"The behavior on the part of the Russians throughout the region and the world is not acceptable in these times," McCain told a news conference after meeting Montenegrin Defence Minister Petar Boskovic.

McCain's remarks also coincided with the visit of the U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to Russia as relations between the two superpowers soured over the course of the war in Syria.

Backers of Montenegrin accession to NATO say it is important to support new members to promote Western values and push back against Moscow.

Montenegrin officials said Russia was behind an alleged plot last October aimed at halting the integration of the former Yugoslav republic into NATO and bringing the opposition to power. Moscow dismissed the allegations.

All 28 NATO members must ratify Montenegro's accession in order for the country to join the alliance. Washington was among the last to do so.

And now it looks like Trump and Mccain are aligned in their statements. I dont know how Trump changed so quickly and so drastic. How deep state managed to do that? Did they feed him with faulty intelligence information, after they changed few of his important people, or they used other techniques to make him believe their lies and now this human-like creature Mccain is active again?

Just read his statements above. You can see from them how he and his friends just hate Russia. And they will do everything just to destroy Russia, no matter how many people will die or how many countries will be destroyed.
After that St.Petersburg bombing thing changed very drastic and very fast. Then Trump bombed Syria and all these psychopaths are out and active again blaming Russia for everything.

Once certified as a potential candidate, the process of gathering signatures and getting on the ballots in the individual states begins. The State Department’s only job is to make sure that the candidate meets the three constitutional requirements to be president.

This looks like fake news. It's sensational and doesn't provide any sources. The story isn't on any known sites either. I suspect such registration is kept confidential as it's left to candidates to announce when they are running. Better to be cautious and probably avoid generically named sites, as they are growing amid the 'fake news' information war.

Every few days something bad is told about the Putin and Russia on Montenegrin portals. What drives me crazy even more is that majority of people in comments approve those stuff. The are completely brainwashed for the NATO entry.
Only several years ago NATO was a taboo, now is the opposite. I guess you only need few years to completely change the point of view for the majority of people.

SHOCKER: Former Hillary Clinton Employee Arrested For Treason

Organizational culture flows downward from the top to the bottom. If a leader is weak and corrupt, the people beneath the leader will soon learn by example. And that appears to be the case with the State Department and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Candace Marie Claiborne, who possessed Top Secret security clearance, has been indicted on treason charges for conspiring to defraud the U.S. government, concealing contact with foreign spies, obstructing an official proceeding, and making false statements to the FBI.

In the following video, Right Wing News looks at the details of the case, where the senior State Department employee had received cash payments, an apartment, vacations, Apple electronics, and tuition money from Chinese spies.

When asked who she learned this behavior from, guess who Claiborne fingered? Oh, and she also told co-conspirators to delete all emails and evidence prior to her arrest; wonder where she learnt that from?

Claiborne, a veteran State Department employee who possessed a Top Secret security clearance, concealed her extensive contacts with Chinese intelligence agents, who for years lavished her with thousands of dollars in gifts as part of a pay-for-play scheme, according to a Department of Justice press release.

This may help Trump a bit. I still have to wonder if the unusual activity associated w/ Antarctica & Atlanta had anything to do w/ Trump suddenly turning into Trumpenstein? Surely, the pro-Hillary folks will never embrace him & now he's alienated the folks who voted for him - if they had wanted more of the same, Hillary would have won by a landslide!

Truer than ever: No matter who is voted for, government gets in.

Another show of force?

On Thursday, the 22,000-pound GBU-43, or MOAB bomb, nicknamed the "Mother of All Bombs," which is the largest non-nuclear bomb in the US military arsenal, was dropped from a C-130 military airlift aircraft, targeting an underground complex and tunnels in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province believed to be used by the Daesh.

Trump really wants to send out a message I guess, although this attack was probably as "effective" as the one on the Syrian Airbase.

I don't really buy the whole super secret Putin-Trump collusion theory either. I was on the fence about it for awhile, but after observing the statements and body language coming out of the Russians, I don't think they're on the same team with Trump. I think that initially Putin may have been doing a few things behind the scenes for Trump to give the US a chance for redemption. I think he saw something similar to what I wrote here:
Neil said:
On a related subject I've been following the Donald, Killary, Stein thread, and come to the conclusion that in a twisted sort of way, Killary is right about making this election all about Putin. Stein is fun to talk about, as she is the only sane one of the bunch, but she doesn't stand a chance and is practically a nonentity. With Killary, Putin pretty much knows what's going to happen, her course cannot be averted, and war will be escalated. She is a total psychopath with a thirst for blood.

From Putin's perspective, there might be a window with Trump. If he is truly the all-American businessman, who may not be a complete psychopath but really only cares about his bottom line, perhaps Putin can use that to his advantage. If he can propose to Trump a few lucrative deals in Russia and friendly countries to fatten his wallet, perhaps he can convince him that running interference with NATO and the Pentagon would be in his best interest. Then Putin can set Trump up as some kind of great diplomat who is saving the world and invite him to all sorts of prestigious conferences to feed his narcissism when the truth is that Trump is doing it just to line his own pockets. Due to Trump's instability and somewhat idiotic character, this is unlikely to last long, the M-IC will either strong-arm him with promises of even greater riches or have him assassinated, but if it buys Putin more time to fortify his defenses it would reduce Russian casualties in the inevitable confrontation.

I suppose that it is possible that if Trump were sufficiently deferential to Putin and followed his orders closely, Putin could protect him to a degree and use him as a tool to gradually defang the Neocon warhawks, who he sees as his real enemy. Killary's worst nightmare of the evil Ruskies coming to take over America would be coming true, except the Russians would not be interested in conquering the country, but removing her and her psychopathic compatriots from the reigns of American power for a long time. Ideally Putin and Trump could stage something of a palace coup and make them irrelevant without firing a single shot by presenting "revelations" to the American people about what they really do which would change their perceptions of the system. It is an existential threat to her if Putin can "take over" Trump which is why she so maniacally flips out about every chance she gets. It's quite the long shot, but it would be worth it from Putin's perspective as a way to potentially avoid WWIII. This will estrange Trump from some of the elites who do support him at the moment so I don't think it will work, or it will only be allowed to go so far, but I think this is more or less the scenario that worries a lot of the deep state folks; that maybe Trump can be "turned to the light." I also think it requires a level of humility that Trump doesn't have. Maybe Putin is playing the role of Perseus and Trump is more like the shield...
Trump has demonstrated that he does not have the moral fortitude to be any kind of hero, so now any "collusion" between him and Putin will be in the form of Putin trying to corral him by getting Neocon Trump to make stupid moves which justify Russian integration and militarization of the Eurasian Union. Putin will simply play the American deep state and it's penchant for missile strikes and "shock and awe" as free advertising to convince other countries why they need to move closer to Russia. Now we're back on this original timeline:

Q: (L) Hello. Can we say hello first?
A: Hello
Q: (L) And who do we have with us this evening?
A: Yeaionnia of Cassiopaea.
Q: (L) Do you transmit through Cassiopaea?
A: Yes
Q: (L) Okay. Why do you introduce tonight's adventures with "US is headed for destruction"?
A: Passed the point when anything could possibly be done to change the outcome.
Q: (L) What is this outcome?
A: Increasing inner turmoil. Review what happened in Germany.
Q: (L) Well, what happened in Germany in what period?
A: Towards the end of the war. Hitler's madness and the hatred of the world towards Germany.
Q: (L) Wasn't a pretty picture, was it? (J) In Germany, the rest of the world bombed Germany...
A: Yes. Expect it in the USA ultimately.
Q (J) Would that be nuclear bombs?
A: And more.
Q: (A***) Is it going to destroy the rest of the world with it?
A: Not exactly... but the cosmic stuff will take its toll.
Q: (L) Anything else on that topic for the moment since we have other issues we want to cover?
A: Be alert.
The USA, being past the point of no return, there is not much Trump can do. He doesn't have exactly pure intentions, and he doesn't have the intellectual capacity to play chess with these deep state spooks. His awareness of how the world really functions is rather limited, and he will be surrounded by globalist enemies, where attack could come from any angle. He has a certain level of knowledge from being a sort of renegade insider, which should allow him to play the game for awhile, but if Kennedy couldn't do it, I don't think Trump stands a chance. The one advantage Trump has over Kennedy is that the globalist imperial narrative has become so overt and is a fragile house of cards predicated on some pretty egregious lies. All Trump needs to do is get into a few arguments with his handlers and start spouting off, and expose these lies, similar to what he's doing for his campaign, and he could do a lot of damage. And that's the best hope I see from Trump at the moment. He wants to be in charge and won't like taking orders, so as he's being backed into the corner and dealt with, maybe he'll throw hand grenades in every which direction as a last resort and a couple of them will hit something which will finally allow, on the eve of destruction, for people to see. I also think that Trump is highly dependent on Clinton defectors feeding him information, and it will be interesting to see how much truth he will continue to put out there once they decide he knows enough and they no longer need him. All of these shenanigans will make it easier for Putin to expose the empire, because all of the "conspiratorial" things that he talks about will even be given airtime on western media outlets, even if heavily skewed, and anyone with even a tiny bit of common sense will be able to see through it. Who would've thought that rigged elections would be mainstream conversation around the dinner table in the US? The real question is what system will be employed to replace this chaos.
Trump was pushed to do something about the "slaughter of babies" in Syria and he had a lower emotional/instinctual kneejerk reaction. I think that part of it had to do with portraying himself as a badass, as that is what a large portion of his base expects from him. There is a song that is fairly popular in rural America, especially closer to 9/11 called Red, White, and Blue that is basically about evening the score and getting revenge for the terrorist attacks. _https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PXSK3iDeAI

I think a good portion of his base subscribes to that worldview, although there is a sizable minority that does not. There was also whatever pressure the deep state was putting on him over his alleged "bromance" with Putin, and finally due to the fact that he has no "magnetic center" to keep him oriented toward justice/truth amidst the chaos, there was just too much friction and all of his little i's have been restructured just the way the deep state and 4D STS wants. I believe that the US has just refused the universe's final offer for redemption, and in the archetypal Hero's Journey story, I think that always results in death. Maybe that's why Putin seems so agitated these days.

I don't think Trump is particularly happy about how things are going and senses he is becoming a caged animal at some level, and I do believe that he considered the missile strike to be the most minimally destructive option which would satisfy the War Hawks and his own need to appear powerful. He may not be completely finished, he may have a few "hand grenades" left for the Washington elite on his way down, but I think the tide has certainly turned against him and it is the beginning of the end for Trump. All they have to do is wait for the tide to go out as Trump continues to blunder his way into the traps set by the Washington establishment and then they can sweep him out of office and replace him with someone less risky. The whole affair can then be used to propagandize the public over why an "outsider" should never be allowed to run for president again.

Neil,

I think you made a lot of good observations. I think the "timeline" regression idea is truly depressing but maybe that's how it works. I don't know.

To think we have slipped backwards into the old one leaves me a bit depressed.

The video lyrics probably do speak for a vast majority of Americans if not Trump:

"Cause we'll put a boot in your ass it's the American way."

And

"And it'll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you". (maybe a bit of deep state projection there?)

Using Gurdjieff analysis on Trump is an interesting way to approach his behavior. Thanks.
