The satirical Soviets were first spotted Wednesday, after the star was shattered by Austin Clay, who turned himself in and is facing felony vandalism charges.

“2 guys dressed as Russian Soldiers in 90F heat to ‘protect’ Trump’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame star from vandalism. That’s next level trollism!” Twitter user @Asgard_Hydra tweeted Saturday.

“Well played, California,” ,” @thepaperword chimed in.

Funnyman Jimmy Kimmel aired footage of the stone-faced duo on his Thursday show.

“That’s what comrades do for other comrades,” he quipped.

Trump has been dogged by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election, and most recently, criticized by his deferential treatment of strongman Vladimir Putin at the Helsinki summit.

“I wonder if trump actually ‘gets’ the satire here, or the irony,” wondered @dennisp101155.

Clay is the second person to wreck the star since Trump became president. Cops busted a man who took a pickax and a sledgehammer to the star last October.

The most recent vandalism sparked a series of protests and demonstrations, and even a knock-down brawl Thursday night.

The US president has been dealing with accusations of having ties with Russia and of being too "soft" on its president, while Trump himself has claimed he’s been the hardest on Putin of all US presidents.

Reagan's Son Thinks Trump Supporters Would Elect Putin as President Over Any Dem

Ron Reagan, the son of the 40th US president has suggested during an interview with MSNBC that if Vladimir Putin ran for the US presidency, he would win over any democrat in the eyes of Donald Trump's supporters.

"If we were left just to Donald Trump's base they would elect Vladimir Putin as president of the US over virtually anybody with a D after their name. […] It goes hand in hand — if Trump seems to love Putin, they will love Putin too," Ron Reagan said.

Reagan further added that most of the sitting US president's base has lost "touch with reality" and are ready to forgive Trump any missteps as long as he "seems to hate the same people that they hate." Reagan has called this phenomenon "Trump derangement syndrome."

US President Trump and his team have been under scrutiny over allegations of Russian meddling in the US presidential elections and possible collision between Moscow and Trump prior to the 2016 elections. Special Counsel Robert Mueller has been conducting an investigation into the allegations, but has thus far found no proof of collusion.

The current occupant of the White House has been accused on multiple occasions of being too "soft" with the Russian president. Trump believes that no president prior to him was ever so "hard" on Putin and even said that he will be the Kremlin chief's "worst enemy," if the two countries fail to improve their relations.

Detailed painting of Trump 'Crossing the Swamp' inspired by Washington across the Delaware has a LOT going on

John Bolton, Kellyanne Conway, Mike Pompeo and Jeff Sessions are wielding rifles in the painting while Nikki Haley, James Mattis, Ben Carson, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and John Kelly steer the boat with paddles.

Meanwhile Trump is at the helm with first lady Melania Trump, Mike Pence and Ivanka Trump closely behind him.

Those on Twitter were quick to mock the painting as some pointed out how Donald Trump Jr. didn't make the crew and that Carson appeared to be rowing backwards.

McNaughton, who is a Trump supporter, wrote on his website that the painting showed the President crossing the swamp as he 'carries the light of truth, hope, and prosperity'.

'The murky water of the deep state is laced with dangerous vermin, perfectly willing to destroy American prosperity for their personal ideologies and financial gain,' he wrote.

'The establishment Democrats, Never-Trumper-Republicans, Deep State, and Fake News Media will do all they can to stop the majority of the American people from succeeding.

'As an artist, I paint what I feel needs to be said about the current state of our country. My hope is that Trump will be remembered as the President that restored America’s greatness. I want to be on that boat for freedom!'

President Trump on Wednesday for the first time called on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to shut down special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s contacts with Russia and Trump’s obstruction of the probe.

“This is a terrible situation and Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further,” Trump tweeted. “Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to USA!”

The White House did not immediately return a request for comment. In a statement, Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s lawyer, said “the president was expressing his opinion on his favored medium for asserting his First Amendment right of free speech.”

“He said ‘should’ not ‘must’ and no presidential order was issued or will be,” Giuliani added.

Mueller, a registered Republican, recently charged 12 Russian intelligence officials in connection with the 2016 hack of the Democratic National Committee’s computer server bringing the total number of individual indictments to 32. Five people, including former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn and ex-campaign aide George Papadopoulos, have pleaded guilty to charges and are cooperating with Mueller.

Trump has frequently taken his frustration with Mueller’s ongoing investigation out on Sessions, who recused himself from the probe in March 2017 after it was revealed he had had undisclosed meetings with the Russian ambassador. According to the New York Times, Trump asked Sessions to reverse his decision during a March 2017 meeting at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort a confrontation that is being investigated by Mueller as part of a potential obstruction case.

The president now says he regrets picking Sessions as the nation’s top law enforcement officer.

“The Russian Witch Hunt Hoax continues, all because Jeff Sessions didn’t tell me he was going to recuse himself,” Trump tweeted in June. “I would have quickly picked someone else. So much time and money wasted, so many lives ruined.”

The president has been attacking Mueller and denouncing his investigation for months. But Wednesday’s tweet marks the first time he directly called on Sessions to shutter Mueller’s probe.

Trump’s call also comes as his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort is standing trial in Alexandria, Va., on bank and tax fraud charges relating to his work as a political consultant for a pro-Russian Ukrainian political party in 2014. Manafort’s indictment was among the first brought by Mueller’s investigation. Manafort faces related federal charges in Washington, D.C., where his trial will begin in September.

“Paul Manafort worked for Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other highly prominent and respected political leaders,” Trump tweeted on Wednesday. “He worked for me for a very short time. Why didn’t government tell me that he was under investigation. These old charges have nothing to do with Collusion a Hoax!”

Trump continued to fume on Twitter about the probe, reviving his long-held complaints about former FBI Director James Comey, Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, and FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, as well as the controversial dossier prepared by British spy Christopher Steele.

“Russian Collusion with the Trump Campaign, one of the most successful in history, is a TOTAL HOAX,” the president tweeted. “The Democrats paid for the phony and discredited Dossier which was, along with Comey, McCabe, Strzok and his lover, the lovely Lisa Page, used to begin the Witch Hunt. Disgraceful!”

Trump concluded his Twitter rant with an odd comparison.

“Looking back on history, who was treated worse, Alfonse Capone, legendary mob boss, killer and “Public Enemy Number One,” or Paul Manafort, political operative & Reagan/Dole darling, now serving solitary confinement – although convicted of nothing? Where is the Russian Collusion?”

Trump to Sessions: Shut down Russia probe

President Donald Trump on Wednesday made what appeared to be his most direct public call yet for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to shut down special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation, but his personal attorney later described it as only Trump's "opinion."

Trump took to Twitter to demand that Sessions stop the probe "right now."

"This is a terrible situation and Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further. Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to USA!" Trump wrote, in the third of a series of tweets.

..This is a terrible situation and Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further. Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to USA!
9:24 AM - Aug 1, 2018

While the president has in the past openly expressed regret about choosing Sessions as attorney general without knowing Sessions would announce he would recuse himself from overseeing the Mueller probe, the tweet appeared to be the most direct message to Sessions yet to withdraw his recusal and end the investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election.

While the White House has said the president's tweets amount to official statements, the president's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani later Wednesday issued a statement to ABC News describing the tweet merely as Trump's "opinion."

"We have been saying for months that it is time to bring this inquiry to an end," Giuliani said. "The President has expressed the same opinion."

Soon after, Giuliani issued a statement further clarifying that the president did not and has no plans to issue an official order ending the investigation.

“The President was expressing his opinion on his favored medium for asserting his First Amendment right of free speech," Giuliani said. "He said ‘should’ not ‘must’ and no Presidential order was issued or will be.”

Since Sessions announced his recusal in March 2017, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has been tasked with overseeing Mueller's investigation.

The Justice Department declined to comment Wednesday.

The tweet was one in a series of messages in a thread started by the president in which he quoted lawyer and legal commentator Alan Dershowitz, a vocal critic of Mueller's investigation.

“FBI Agent Peter Strzok (on the Mueller team) should have recused himself on day one. He was out to STOP THE ELECTION OF DONALD TRUMP. He needed an insurance policy. Those are illegal, improper goals, trying to influence the Election. He should never, ever been allowed to remain in the FBI while he himself was being investigated. This is a real issue. It won’t go into a Mueller Report because Mueller is going to protect these guys. Mueller has an interest in creating the illusion of objectivity around his investigation.” ALAN DERSHOWITZ," Trump wrote in two tweets.

Trump's renewed focus on calling for the end of the investigation also comes as his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort was set to commence his second day on trial in a federal courthouse in Alexandria, Va.

In a subsequent tweet weighing in on the trial, President Trump again distanced Manafort's alleged criminal activity from his work while serving with Trump's campaign for six months in 2016.

"Paul Manafort worked for Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other highly prominent and respected political leaders. He worked for me for a very short time. Why didn’t government tell me that he was under investigation. These old charges have nothing to do with Collusion - a Hoax!" Trump wrote.

03.08.2018 - Twitter Abuzz as Bannon Attacks Koch Bros, Paul Ryan, Republican Establishment
Twitter Abuzz as Bannon Attacks Koch Bros, Paul Ryan, Republican Establishment

The former Trump campaign CEO and White House chief strategist held nothing back when he railed against Republican politicians who refused to adopt the attitudes of much of the party base and support the president.

In an interview with The Hill published Friday, Bannon, who left the White House in 2017 and was later disavowed by Trump after the publication of Michael Wolff's book 'Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House', expressed support for Trump against establishment Republicans going into the 2018 midterm elections.

Going after the Koch brothers, the billionaire industrialists involved in organizing campaign donations for the Republican Party, Bannon called their fundraising operations a "scam" run by "con artists." "It's an open secret in conservative circles that they are a scam, ok? And that's why no big donors are with them anymore," Bannon said.

Trump had attacked the Koch brothers earlier this week, accusing them of being "globalists" and a "total joke in real Republican circles" after Charles Koch criticized the president's trade policies as being "unfair" to other countries and accused Trump of being misguided on immigration.

Bannon told The Hill that the Koch Bros were symptomatic of a wider problem in the Republican Party. "The apparatus – the donor class – by and large I think still opposes President Trump, particularly the larger donors," he said, pointing to the mere handful of senators who could be counted on to support the president's agenda.

"You're not going to be able to hide Trump. The opposition is going to force this anyway…You have to go all-in. If you try to go in half-baked, it's not going to work," Bannon insisted, offering the Republican Party tips for the mid-terms. Bannon also attacked House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan, calling him a "lame duck" and saying he "should have been removed" as soon as he announced he would not be seeking reelection. He went on to suggest that Mitch McConnell and other GOP heavyweights who were slow to show support for Trump's candidacy in 2016 had effectively ridden into office on the president's coattails.

As for John Kelly, the former US Marine Corps general who replaced Bannon as Trump's chief of White House staff in 2017, Bannon insisted that his position was merely formal. "Gen. Kelly is there for more administrative matters," he said, stressing that his power has "definitely diminished."

Most Twitter users reacted to the Bannon interview with questions about why The Hill gave the former Trump official attention, and complaints about why didn't ask him the tough questions.

Others argued that Bannon's attack on the Kochs was an act of "biting the hands that can feed him" and suggested that the former advisor "doesn't understand" that the president no longer cares about his former advisor's opinions.

Others made jokes about a 'Bannon vs. Koch bros death match', or voiced their vexation over the fact that he was risking breaking apart the right by sparking a conflagration within the Republican Party.

Trump publicly broke with Bannon in January following the release of Fire & Fury, telling the US media he felt "betrayed" and saying that the former chief strategist had "lost his mind" after being sacked. "Steve doesn't represent my base — he's only in it for himself," Trump said.

'Fake, Fake, Disgusting News': Trump Slams Media for Bad Coverage of His Summits

US President Donald Trump on Thursday resumed his attacks on media at a rally in Pennsylvania, slamming news as "fake" and "disgusting."

"They can make anything bad because they are the fake, fake, disgusting news," Trump told supporters in Wilkes-Barre. Trump also tweeted ahead of the rally that "a large percentage of the media" was "FAKE NEWS" and "the enemy of the people."

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

They asked my daughter Ivanka whether or not the media is the enemy of the people. She correctly said no. It is the FAKE NEWS, which is a large percentage of the media, that is the enemy of the people!
4:24 PM - Aug 2, 2018

Trump said he was wrongfully accused of being late for a meeting with the British Queen during his state visit to the United Kingdom in July. He also defended his decision to go to Helsinki after the UK trip to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the June summit with North Korea’s Kim Jong-un.

Trump and Putin met for the first official summit in Helsinki, Finland on July 16. The two presidents had a one-on-one private conversation followed by an expanded meeting. Trump's performance during the press conference afterwards sparked a backlash in the United States, because the US president appeared to side with Russia on the matter of alleged US election interference.

Trump is at odds with a number of media outlets, frequently characterizing them as "enemies of the people" and their coverage as "fake news."

Last week, Trump criticized the US media over revealing the inner workings of the government and thus putting many people in danger as well as for their negative coverage of the current administration, stressing that 90 percent of the coverage of his administration was negative "despite the tremendously positive results we are achieving."

On July 26, CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins was denied access to cover a press conference because administration officials did not approve of her behavior during an earlier event in the Oval Office. CNN also said that after the session a White House communications official told Collins she was disinvited from the next open media event because the questions she had asked the president were "inappropriate" for the venue.

US President Donald Trump has long clashed with members of the press specifically with CNN which he has repeatedly described as "Fake News."

03.08.2018 - McCain 2019 Defense Bill 'Whip' Turkey for S-400 Deal, Targets Russia, China ... (Another McCain :evil:Screw-up!)
McCain 2019 Defense Bill 'Whips' Turkey for S-400 Deal, Targets Russia, China

The John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 is ready for US President Donald Trump's signature. Speaking to Sputnik, US peace activist Jan R. Weinberg expressed concerns over the bill's bellicose spirit and predicted that Washington's expansionism will eventually backfire on the US economy.

Besides boosting US military spending to $717 billion, the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019, passed by the US Senate on August 1, places a special emphasis on Russia and China, named Washington's "potential adversaries" along with Iran, and "punishes" Turkey for the acquisition of S-400 missiles.

Commenting on the bipartisan legislation, American peace activist and founder of "Show Up! America" Jan R. Weinberg noted that "the armament industry has asserted a firm grip on our elected officials; exerting their undue influences not only through 'legalized bribery' but through the technique of establishing their business and manufacturing plants within all 50 states."

"As to Trump stepping up military spending and asserting US projection of power worldwide, it is my assertion that Trump is in competition with Obama's legacy of having sold more weapon systems than any other President since World War 2. Trump does not want to be in second place," Weinberg opined.

The legislation authorizes $69 billion for overseas contingency operations, envisages further investments to modernize the US nuclear deterrent, allocates funds for the construction of new battleships and aircraft, and establishes a sub-unified command for space under the Strategic Command, proclaiming space a "warfighting domain."

"The militarization of space is inevitable — the corporations want it so," Weinberg remarked.

However, besides financial issues the bill addresses political matters.

Pentagon to Boost Military Presence on Russia's Borders

The John McCain NDAA prohibits military-to-military cooperation with Russia, while at the same time however, retaining bilateral military-to-military dialogue between the countries "for the purpose of reducing the risk of conflict." The bill also prohibits Washington from officially recognizing Crimea's reunification with Russia and allocates $250 million for lethal defensive arms for Ukraine.

It prioritizes "the need for additional United States Army forward presence in Europe" and "increased forward-stationed combat enablers to enhance United States Army capability and capacity" in order to "deter Russian aggression."

The legislation outlines the necessity to consider "a continuous and enduring presence" of the US contingent, special operations forces and military equipment in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania — the three Baltic states located on Russia's western border.

In addition, the bill's authors set eyes on Russia's security cooperation with Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, countries once regarded by Washington as its "backyard.

It obligates the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) to present a report on military collaboration between the countries, including a "list of Russian weapon systems or other military hardware or technology valued at not less than $1,000,000 provided to or purchased by such country since January 1, 2007."

McCain's Bill Cracks Down on China

The bill prohibits the Pentagon from using China's communications services, systems and equipment, specifically ZTE and Huawei Technologies, citing security concerns.

It also stipulates that the Pentagon must find out "the relationship between Chinese overseas investment, including initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative, and Chinese security and military strategy objectives."

Additionally, according to the bill, the People's Liberation Army Navy, which was disinvited from participating in the US-held multinational Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise, will be prohibited in taking part in the drills until China "ceased all land reclamation activities in the South China Sea" and demilitarize the area.

Furthermore, the legislation envisions bolstering defense ties with Taiwan, regarded by Beijing as China's "breakaway province."

"The United States should strengthen defense and security cooperation with Taiwan to support the development of capable, ready, and modern defense forces necessary for Taiwan to maintain a sufficient self-defense capability," the legislation says, adding that the Pentagon should step up joint military exercised with Taipei."

According to Weinberg, US lawmakers are acting much in the vein of the Obama-era "Pivot to Asia," aimed at containing China through bolstering military collaboration with its immediate neighbors.

"Do the US think tanks ever consider that China has been and will be reacting because the United States makes clear its concerns that a rising China is perceived as a threat to US hegemonic interests within the Indo-Asia-Pacific?" he asked rhetorically.

Commenting on the proposed bill, the US peace activist highlighted India's role in Washington's China strategy: "India was considered to be the westernmost nation within the militarization aspect of Obama's Pivot to Asia," he noted.

Turkey's Looming Expulsion From F-35 Program

US lawmakers are not inclined to let Turkey go "unpunished" for the upcoming acquisition of Russian-made S-400 missile defense systems: The new legislation envisions the potential expulsion of Turkey from the F-35 program.

The bill's authors insist that any effort by Ankara "to further enhance their relationship with Russia will degrade the general security of the NATO alliance, and NATO member countries, and degrade the interoperability of the alliance."

Besides Turkey's potential removal from the F-35 program, the legislation demands that "the transfer of any F-35 aircraft currently owned and operated, by the Government of the Republic of Turkey, from the territory of the United States" should be prohibited until a report is issued on Turkey's behavior.

'Washington's Expansionism to Backfire on US Economy'

Commenting on the rhetoric and the spirit of the bill, the US peace activist suggested that once adopted it will further escalate tensions and push global powers to a new "unprecedented arms race."

According to Weinberg, the US military muscle-flexing will have a negative impact on the country's economy:

"In the long run, if the cornerstone of United States foreign policy continues to be that of military expansionism and should China's Belt Road Initiative (BRI) and the BRICS initiatives (with Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) became firmly established, then in my estimation the United States economy will severally deteriorate."

The legislation was introduced in the House of Representatives on April 13, 2018. After subsequent discussions, the amended bill was passed by the House on July 26, and on August 1 it was approved by the Senate. Very soon the H.R.5515 John S. McCain NDAA could be signed into law by US President Donald Trump.

This is not the first time Christy had been accused of making threats against government officials. A judge sentenced Christy and his father to probation in 2012 for threatening former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and her attorney.

Officials are urging the public to be “diligent” in calling 911 or (484) 358-1974 to contact U.S. Marshals in the area if they have information about Christy or his whereabouts.

During the 2016 Presidential election, Hillary thought and "just assumed" she had the State of Pa. in her back pocket - after she had Biden campaigning for her? And while Biden was standing in for her - she was attending private dinner's with the local wannabe's and lining her war-chest. Many bloggers on local chats voiced their disapproval in her "worn out tactics" and voted "Trump"!

Trump visited to support Lou Barletta - who is dedicated to the people he serves and has a clean track record. Bob Casey, on the other hand, has been following his Father's foot steps and is part of the Clinton-Biden clan. Need I - say more? So, an attempt on Trump can't be ruled out? I pray for his safety - everyday.

Mon, Jul 30, 2018 - The Schizophrenic Deep State is a Symptom, Not the Disease
The Schizophrenic Deep State is a Symptom, Not the Disease

"a key feature of the Roman Empire in its final slide to collapse ... shared values and consensus which had held the Empire's core together dissolved, leaving petty fiefdoms to war among themselves for what power and swag remained."

If we understand the profound political disunity fracturing the nation and its Imperial Project, we understand the Deep State must also fracture along the same fault lines.

If we consider the state of the nation from 40,000 feet, several key indicators of profound political disunity within the elites pop out:

1. The overt politicization of the central state's law enforcement and intelligence agencies: it is now commonplace to find former top officials of the CIA et al. accusing a sitting president of treason in the mainstream media. What was supposed to be above politics is now nothing but politics.

2. The overt politicization of the centralized (corporate) media: evidence that would stand up in a court of law is essentially non-existent but the interpretations and exaggerations that fit the chosen narrative are ceaselessly promoted--the classic definition of desperate propaganda by those who have lost the consent of the governed.

The nation's elites are not just divided--they're exhibiting signs of schizophrenic breakdown: disassociation and a loss of the ability to discern the difference between reality and their internal fantasies.

I've been writing about the divided Deep State for a number of years, for example, The Conflict within the Deep State Just Broke into Open Warfare. The topic appears to be one of widespread interest, as this essay drew over 300,000 views.

It's impossible to understand the divided Deep State unless we situate it in the larger context of profound political disunity, a concept I learned from historian Michael Grant, whose slim but insightful volume The Fall of the Roman Empire I have been recommending since 2009.

As I noted in my 2009 book Survival+, this was a key feature of the Roman Empire in its final slide to collapse. The shared values and consensus which had held the Empire's core together dissolved, leaving petty fiefdoms to war among themselves for what power and swag remained.

A funny thing happens when a nation allows itself to be ruled by Imperial kleptocrats: such rule is intrinsically destabilizing, as there is no longer any moral or political center to bind the nation together. The public sees the value system at the top is maximize my personal profit by whatever means are available, i.e. complicity, corruption, monopoly and rentier rackets, and they follow suit by pursuing whatever petty frauds and rackets are within reach: tax avoidance, cheating on entrance exams, gaming the disability system, lying on mortgage and job applications, and so on.

But the scope of the rentier rackets is so large, the bottom 95% cannot possibly keep up with the expanding wealth and income of the top .1% and their army of technocrats and enablers, so a rising sense of injustice widens the already yawning fissures in the body politic.

Meanwhile, diverting the national income into a few power centers is also destabilizing, as Central Planning and Market Manipulation (a.k.a. the Federal Reserve) are intrinsically unstable as price can no longer be discovered by unfettered markets. As a result, imbalances grow until some seemingly tiny incident or disruption triggers a cascading collapse, a.k.a. a phase shift or system re-set.

As the Power Elites squabble over the dwindling crumbs left by the various rentier rackets, there's no one left to fight for the national interest because the entire Status Quo of self-interested fiefdoms and cartels has been co-opted and is now wedded to the Imperial Oligarchy as their guarantor of financial security.

The divided Deep State is a symptom of this larger systemic political disunity. I have characterized the divide as between the Wall Street-Neocon-Globalist Neoliberal camp--currently the dominant public face of the Deep State, the one desperately attempting to exploit the "Russia hacked our elections and is trying to destroy us" narrative--and a much less public, less organized "rogue Progressive" camp, largely based in the military services and fringes of the Deep State, that sees the dangers of a runaway expansionist Empire and the resulting decay of the nation's moral/political center.

What few observers seem to understand is that concentrating power in centralized nodes is intrinsically unstable. Contrast a system in which power, control and wealth is extremely concentrated in a few nodes (the current U.S. Imperial Project) and a decentralized network of numerous dynamic nodes.

Project) and a decentralized network of numerous dynamic nodes.
s-curve-centralization3-17.png

The disruption of any of the few centralized nodes quickly destabilizes the entire system because each centralized node is highly dependent on the others. This is in effect what happened in the 2008-09 Financial Meltdown: the Wall Street node failed and that quickly imperiled the entire economy and thus the entire political order, up to and including the Global Imperial Project.

Historian Peter Turchin has proposed that the dynamics of profound political disunity (i.e. social, financial and political disintegration) can be quantified in a Political Stress Index, a concept he describes in his new book Ages of Discord.

turchin1-17.png

If we understand the profound political disunity fracturing the nation and its Imperial Project, we understand the Deep State must also fracture along the same fault lines. There is no other possible output of a system of highly concentrated nodes of power, wealth and control and the competing rentier rackets of these dependent, increasingly fragile centralized nodes.

Dmitry Orlov: US Intelligence Community is Tearing the Country Apart from the Inside

In today’s United States, the term “espionage” doesn’t get too much use outside of some specific contexts. There is still sporadic talk of industrial espionage, but with regard to Americans’ own efforts to understand the world beyond their borders, they prefer the term “intelligence.” This may be an intelligent choice, or not, depending on how you look at things.

First of all, US “intelligence” is only vaguely related to the game of espionage as it has been traditionally played, and as it is still being played by countries such as Russia and China. Espionage involves collecting and validating strategically vital information and conveying it to just the pertinent decision-makers on your side while keeping the fact that you are collecting and validating it hidden from everyone else.

In eras past, a spy, if discovered, would try to bite down on a cyanide capsule; these days torture is considered ungentlemanly, and spies that get caught patiently wait to be exchanged in a spy swap. An unwritten, commonsense rule about spy swaps is that they are done quietly and that those released are never interfered with again because doing so would complicate negotiating future spy swaps.

In recent years, the US intelligence agencies have decided that torturing prisoners is a good idea, but they have mostly been torturing innocent bystanders, not professional spies, sometimes forcing them to invent things, such as “Al Qaeda.” There was no such thing before US intelligence popularized it as a brand among Islamic terrorists.

Most recently, British “special services,” which are a sort of Mini-Me to the to the Dr. Evil that is the US intelligence apparatus, saw it fit to interfere with one of their own spies, Sergei Skripal, a double agent whom they sprung from a Russian jail in a spy swap. They poisoned him using an exotic chemical and then tried to pin the blame on Russia based on no evidence.

There are unlikely to be any more British spy swaps with Russia, and British spies working in Russia should probably be issued good old-fashioned cyanide capsules (since that supposedly super-powerful Novichok stuff the British keep at their “secret” lab in Porton Down doesn’t work right and is only fatal 20% of the time).

There is another unwritten, commonsense rule about spying in general: whatever happens, it needs to be kept out of the courts, because the discovery process of any trial would force the prosecution to divulge sources and methods, making them part of the public record. An alternative is to hold secret tribunals, but since these cannot be independently verified to be following due process and rules of evidence, they don’t add much value.

A different standard applies to traitors; here, sending them through the courts is acceptable and serves a high moral purpose, since here the source is the person on trial and the method—treason—can be divulged without harm. But this logic does not apply to proper, professional spies who are simply doing their jobs, even if they turn out to be double agents. In fact, when counterintelligence discovers a spy, the professional thing to do is to try to recruit him as a double agent or, failing that, to try to use the spy as a channel for injecting disinformation.

Americans have been doing their best to break this rule. Recently, special counsel Robert Mueller indicted a dozen Russian operatives working in Russia for hacking into the DNC mail server and sending the emails to Wikileaks. Meanwhile, said server is nowhere to be found (it’s been misplaced) while the time stamps on the files that were published on Wikileaks show that they were obtained by copying to a thumb drive rather than sending them over the internet. Thus, this was a leak, not a hack, and couldn’t have been done by anyone working remotely from Russia.

Furthermore, it is an exercise in futility for a US official to indict Russian citizens in Russia. They will never stand trial in a US court because of the following clause in the Russian Constitution: “61.1 A citizen of the Russian Federation may not be deported out of Russia or extradited to another state.”

Mueller may summon a panel of constitutional scholars to interpret this sentence, or he can just read it and weep. Yes, the Americans are doing their best to break the unwritten rule against dragging spies through the courts, but their best is nowhere near good enough.

That said, there is no reason to believe that the Russian spies couldn’t have hacked into the DNC mail server. It was probably running Microsoft Windows, and that operating system has more holes in it than a building in downtown Raqqa, Syria after the Americans got done bombing that city to rubble, lots of civilians included. When questioned about this alleged hacking by Fox News, Putin (who had worked as a spy in his previous career) had trouble keeping a straight face and clearly enjoyed the moment.

He pointed out that the hacked/leaked emails showed a clear pattern of wrongdoing: DNC officials conspired to steal the electoral victory in the Democratic Primary from Bernie Sanders, and after this information had been leaked they were forced to resign. If the Russian hack did happen, then it was the Russians working to save American democracy from itself. So, where’s the gratitude? Where’s the love? Oh, and why are the DNC perps not in jail?

Since there exists an agreement between the US and Russia to cooperate on criminal investigations, Putin offered to question the spies indicted by Mueller. He even offered to have Mueller sit in on the proceedings. But in return he wanted to question US officials who may have aided and abetted a convicted felon by the name of William Browder, who is due to begin serving a nine-year sentence in Russia any time now and who, by the way, donated copious amounts of his ill-gotten money to the Hillary Clinton election campaign.

In response, the US Senate passed a resolution to forbid Russians from questioning US officials. And instead of issuing a valid request to have the twelve Russian spies interviewed, at least one US official made the startlingly inane request to have them come to the US instead. Again, which part of 61.1 don’t they understand?

The logic of US officials may be hard to follow, but only if we adhere to the traditional definitions of espionage and counterespionage—“intelligence” in US parlance—which is to provide validated information for the purpose of making informed decisions on best ways of defending the country. But it all makes perfect sense if we disabuse ourselves of such quaint notions and accept the reality of what we can actually observe: the purpose of US “intelligence” is not to come up with or to work with facts but to simply “make shit up.”

The “intelligence” the US intelligence agencies provide can be anything but; in fact, the stupider it is the better, because its purpose is allow unintelligent people to make unintelligent decisions. In fact, they consider facts harmful—be they about Syrian chemical weapons, or conspiring to steal the primary from Bernie Sanders, or Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, or the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden—because facts require accuracy and rigor while they prefer to dwell in the realm of pure fantasy and whimsy. In this, their actual objective is easily discernible.

The objective of US intelligence is to suck all remaining wealth out of the US and its allies and pocket as much of it as possible while pretending to defend it from phantom aggressors by squandering nonexistent (borrowed) financial resources on ineffective and overpriced military operations and weapons systems. Where the aggressors are not phantom, they are specially organized for the purpose of having someone to fight: “moderate” terrorists and so on.

One major advancement in their state of the art has been in moving from real false flag operations, à la 9/11, to fake false flag operations, à la fake East Gouta chemical attack in Syria (since fully discredited). The Russian election meddling story is perhaps the final step in this evolution: no New York skyscrapers or Syrian children were harmed in the process of concocting this fake narrative, and it can be kept alive seemingly forever purely through the furious effort of numerous flapping lips. It is now a pure confidence scam. If you are less then impressed with their invented narratives, then you are a conspiracy theorist or, in the latest revision, a traitor.

Trump was recently questioned as to whether he trusted US intelligence. He waffled. A light-hearted answer would have been:

“What sort of idiot are you to ask me such a stupid question? Of course they are lying! They were caught lying more than once, and therefore they can never be trusted again. In order to claim that they are not currently lying, you have to determine when it was that they stopped lying, and that they haven’t lied since. And that, based on the information that is available, is an impossible task.”

A more serious, matter-of-fact answer would have been:

“The US intelligence agencies made an outrageous claim: that I colluded with Russia to rig the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. The burden of proof is on them. They are yet to prove their case in a court of law, which is the only place where the matter can legitimately be settled, if it can be settled at all. Until that happens, we must treat their claim as conspiracy theory, not as fact.”

And a hardcore, deadpan answer would have been:

“The US intelligence services swore an oath to uphold the US Constitution, according to which I am their Commander in Chief. They report to me, not I to them. They must be loyal to me, not I to them. If they are disloyal to me, then that is sufficient reason for their dismissal.”

But no such reality-based, down-to-earth dialogue seems possible. All that we hear are fake answers to fake questions, and the outcome is a series of faulty decisions. Based on fake intelligence, the US has spent almost all of this century embroiled in very expensive and ultimately futile conflicts.

Thanks to their efforts, Iran, Iraq and Syria have now formed a continuous crescent of religiously and geopolitically aligned states friendly toward Russia while in Afghanistan the Taliban is resurgent and battling ISIS—an organization that came together thanks to American efforts in Iraq and Syria.

The total cost of wars so far this century for the US is reported to be $4,575,610,429,593. Divided by the 138,313,155 Americans who file tax returns (whether they actually pay any tax is too subtle a question), it works out to just over $33,000 per taxpayer. If you pay taxes in the US, that’s your bill so far for the various US intelligence “oopsies.”

The 16 US intelligence agencies have a combined budget of $66.8 billion, and that seems like a lot until you realize how supremely efficient they are: their “mistakes” have cost the country close to 70 times their budget. At a staffing level of over 200,000 employees, each of them has cost the US taxpayer close to $23 million, on average. That number is totally out of the ballpark! The energy sector has the highest earnings per employee, at around $1.8 million per. Valero Energy stands out at $7.6 million per. At $23 million per, the US intelligence community has been doing three times better than Valero. Hats off! This makes the US intelligence community by far the best, most efficient collapse driver imaginable.

There are two possible hypotheses for why this is so.

First, we might venture to guess that these 200,000 people are grossly incompetent and that the fiascos they precipitate are accidental. But it is hard to imagine a situation where grossly incompetent people nevertheless manage to funnel $23 million apiece, on average, toward an assortment of futile undertakings of their choosing. It is even harder to imagine that such incompetents would be allowed to blunder along decade after decade without being called out for their mistakes.

Another hypothesis, and a far more plausible one, is that the US intelligence community has been doing a wonderful job of bankrupting the country and driving it toward financial, economic and political collapse by forcing it to engage in an endless series of expensive and futile conflicts—the largest single continuous act of grand larceny the world has ever known.

How that can possibly be an intelligent thing to do to your own country, for any conceivable definition of “intelligence,” I will leave for you to work out for yourself. While you are at it, you might also want to come up with an improved definition of “treason”: something better than “a skeptical attitude toward preposterous, unproven claims made by those known to be perpetual liars.”

CNN's Jim Acosta Asks Sarah Sanders To Say The Press Is Not The Enemy Of The People, She Won't

White House press secretary and CNN reporter Jim Acosta spar at Thursday's press briefing over the president's comment that the media is the "enemy of the people."

Transcript:

QUESTION: I just wanted to follow up on a -- on Sarah's question from NPR. She asked you about Ivanka Trump's statement the press is not the enemy of the people, and she asked you whether or not the press is the enemy of the people. You read off a laundry list of your concerns about the press, and then things that you feel like are misreported. But you did not say that the press is not the enemy of the people, and I -- I -- I think it would be a good thing if you were to say right here at this briefing that the press, the people who are gathered in this room right now, are doing their jobs every day, asking questions of officials like the ones you brought forward earlier, are not the enemy of the people. I -- I -- I think we -- we deserve that.

SANDERS: I think the president has made his position known. I also think it's ironic...

QUESTION: (inaudible) you mind telling us -- Sarah, if you don't -- OK, well, if...

SANDERS: I'm -- I'm trying to answer your question. I -- I've politely waited, and I even called on you, despite the fact that you interrupted me while calling on your colleague. I said it's ironic...

QUESTION: Well, you (inaudible) which is why I interrupted.

SANDERS: I'm trying...

QUESTION: But if you -- if you finish -- if you would not mind letting me have a follow-up, that would be fine, but...

SANDERS: It's ironic, Jim (ph), that not only you and the media attack the president for his rhetoric, when they frequently lower the level of conversation in this country. Repeatedly -- repeatedly, the media resorts to personal attacks without any content other than to incite anger.

The media has attacked me personally on a number of occasions, including your own network; said I should be harassed as a life sentence, that I should be choked. ICE officials are not welcomed in their place of worship, and personal information is shared on the Internet. When I was hosted by the Correspondent's Association, of which almost all of you are members of, you brought a comedian up to attack my appearance, and call me a traitor to my own gender.

QUESTION: (inaudible)

SANDERS: In fact, as I know, as far as I know, I'm the first press secretary in the history of the United States that's required Secret Service protection.

QUESTION: No, that's not what I said. People (inaudible)

SANDERS: The media continues to ratchet up the verbal assault against the president and everyone in this administration. And certainly, we have a role to play, but the media has a role to play for the discourse in this country, as well.

QUESTION: And -- and Sarah, if you don't mind, if I -- if -- hold on.

(CROSSTALK)

If I may follow up -- if I may follow up -- excuse me. You did not say in the course of those remarks that you just made, that the press is not the enemy of the people. Are we to take it, from what you just said -- we all get put through the wringer. We all get put in the meat grinder in this town, and you're no exception, and I'm sorry that that happened to you. I wish that that -- that had not happened.

But for -- for the sake of this -- this room, the people who are in this room, this democracy, this country, all the people around the world are watching what you're saying, Sarah, and the White House for the United States of America, the president of the United States should not refer to us is the enemy of the people. His own daughter acknowledges that, and all I'm asking you to do, Sarah, is to acknowledge that right now and right here.

SANDERS: I -- I -- I appreciate your passion. I share it. I've addressed this question. I've addressed my personal feelings. I'm here to speak on behalf of the president. He's made his comments clear.

I think I can now understand why Jim Jordan and Gowdy chose to publicly accept that Russia did meddle with the elections. Looking back, it's interesting to note, that they both emphasized that the meddling didn't have an effect on the outcome, but still, that some sort of meddling did take place.

So, on August 2nd The White House tweeted the following:

And now Trump's administration is calling for voter-ID:s and a need for a 'paper trail' from the voting numbers. And, I remember seeing somewhere that some representatives are demanding that the 'remote access' features of the voting machines should be removed.

Filtered through a bit of wishful thinking, this seems like a pretty good move to minimize election fraud. As the 'deep state' has been raving about 'Russian meddling', now Trump is turning this as a weapon against them. Of course, for this to be a benevolent move, it requires that those who will "correct" the voting procedures are not crooks themselves.

Years after a Judicial Watch investigation uncovered that Islamic terrorists are entering the United States through the Mexican border federal authorities have arrested a Jordanian man for smuggling six citizens of Yemen—an Al Qaeda hotbed—into the U.S. through Mexico. The smuggler, 31-year-old Moayad Heider Mohammad Aldairi, conspired with others to sneak the six Yemeni nationals across the Texas border for a fee, according to a statement issued this week by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Aldairi is a legal resident of Mexico, the feds reveal in their arrest warrant affidavit. From July 2017 to December 2017 he conspired with unnamed “others” to smuggle the Special Interest Aliens (SIA) into the U.S. through Eagle Pass, Texas. Sometime between October 31, 2017 and December 12, 2017 the six citizens of Yemen crossed illegally into the U.S. from Mexico, the federal document says, adding that the SIA’s were detained and interviewed by investigators from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). “Each of them paid Aldairi varying amounts to be smuggled into the United States from Mexico,” the warrant affidavit states, adding that all six Yemenis positively identified Aldairi from a photo lineup as the person who brought them into the country. Yemen is a major base for Islamic militants that is deemed a high security threat by the State Department and the 2009 Christmas Day airline bomber proudly trained there.

This is hardly an isolated case. Foreigners from nations with terrorist ties have been slipping into the U.S. via Mexico for years and Judicial Watch has exposed several plots as part of an ongoing investigation into the critical national security threats that grip the region. In one operation exposed by Judicial Watch, Mexican drug cartels smuggled nationals of terrorist countries into a small Texas rural town near El Paso Texas. To elude the Border Patrol, they used remote farm roads to reach stash areas in Acala, a rural crossroads located around 54 miles from El Paso. Judicial Watch also uncovered State Department records confirming that “Arab extremists” are entering the U.S. through Mexico with the assistance of smuggling network “cells.” Among them was a top Al Qaeda operative wanted by the FBI, identified via a cable from the American consulate in Ciudad Juárez as Adnan G. El Shurkrjumah. Shukrijumah helped plan several U.S. attacks, including plots to bomb Oprah Winfrey’s studio and detonate nuclear devices in multiple American cities (watch a Judicial Watch documentary on it here). For years Shukrijumah appeared on the FBI’s most wanted list and, despite being sought by the agency, crossed back and forth into the U.S. from Mexico to meet fellow militant Islamists in Texas. In fact, as one of the world’s most wanted terrorists, Shukrijumah piloted an aircraft into the Cielo Dorado airfield in Anthony, New Mexico.

Another renowned jihadist, an ISIS operative named Shaykh Mahmood Omar Khabir, has traveled back and forth through the porous southern border, a high-ranking Homeland Security official told Judicial Watch. Khabir, a national of Kuwait, lives in the Mexican state of Chihuahua not far from El Paso and has trained hundreds of Al Qaeda fighters in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Yemen. Mexican drug traffickers help him and other Islamic terrorists stationed in Mexico cross into the United States to explore targets for future attacks, according to state and federal law enforcement officials interviewed by Judicial Watch. This has been going on for many years. In fact, at least two government assessments have backed Judicial Watch’s reports. One of them, an internal Texas Department of Public Safety report, documents that several members of known Islamist terrorist organizations have been apprehended crossing the southern border in recent years. A U.S. military intelligence report subsequently disclosed that more than 30,000 migrants who entered the U.S. through the southwestern border were from countries of “terrorist concern.”

Just a few months ago, Judicial Watch obtained government figures showing that an alarming number of migrants from Bangladesh, another hotbed of terrorist activity, are entering the U.S. through the Mexican border in Texas. Situated in south Asia, Bangladesh is a recruiting ground for terrorist groups such as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and Al-Qaeda Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). For two consecutive years, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) stats show that the Laredo Border Patrol sector is a highly popular crossing point for Bangladeshi nationals. At the time 209 Bangladeshi nationals had been arrested since the start of fiscal year 2018. The State Department has warned of a “significant increase in terrorist activity” in Bangladesh, most notably carried out by ISIS and AQIS. This year the Treasury Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) added ISIS-Bangladesh to its sanctions list by inserting the group in the government’s growing Counter Terrorism Designations list.
