Trump orders attack on Syria, asks for other countries to join him.

I was reading this short article this morning Ivanka encouraged Syria strike? Eric Trump hints this may be the case and I thought: I know, it just sounds so crazy... can the indignation of Trump's daughter be enough for "the more powerful man of the world" choose fire ~60 missiles, without proofs about the existence of chemical weapons, against everything he said before?

I don't know, I think in it and I say to myself "no, it's just a stupid thing... how the hell could someone be so irresponsible?", but... what about if she had an influense on his decision and we are not taking it in account as part of the equation...

I know that all this can not be so simple, but when I think about Trump reaction to bombing, his public declarations, and how puzzled and unexpected were all this, I finish thinking that nothing is impossible!

Meanwhile a doozy from Putin (even the BBC are reporting it).

Idlib ‘chemical attack’ was false flag to set Assad up, more may come – Putin

Russia has information of a potential incident similar to the alleged chemical attack in Idlib province, possibly targeting a Damascus suburb, President Vladimir Putin said. The goal is to discredit the government of Syrian President Assad, he added.

“We have reports from multiple sources that false flags like this one – and I cannot call it otherwise – are being prepared in other parts of Syria, including the southern suburbs of Damascus. They plan to plant some chemical there and accuse the Syrian government of an attack,” he said at a joint press conference with Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Moscow.

Damascus denied the allegations, noting that the targeted area may have been hosting chemical weapons stockpiles belonging to Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) or Al-Nusra Front jihadists.

The incident has not been properly investigated as yet, but the US fired dozens of cruise missiles at a Syrian airbase in a demonstration of force over what it labeled a chemical attack by Damascus.

“President Mattarella and I discussed it, and I told him that this reminds me strongly of the events in 2003, when the US representatives demonstrated at the UN Security Council session the presumed chemical weapons found in Iraq. The military campaign was subsequently launched in Iraq and it ended with the devastation of the country, the growth of the terrorist threat and the appearance of Islamic State [IS, formerly ISIS] on the world stage,” he added.

It was the first time the US had targeted Syrian troops deliberately. The White House says it will repeat military action in response to any possible new chemical weapon attacks.

“The sight of people being gassed and blown away by barrel bombs ensures that if we see this kind of action again, we hold open the possibility of future action,” spokesman Sean Spicer said Monday.

Putin reiterated the call to properly investigate what happened in Khan Sheikhoun, saying that the alleged use of chemical weapons demands one.

“We are planning to address the corresponding UN structure in The Hague and call on the international community to thoroughly investigate all those reports and take appropriate action based on the results of such a probe,” he said.

A separate report of a potential false flag operation in Syria came from the Russian General Staff, which said militants were transporting toxic agents into several parts of Syria, including Eastern Ghouta, the site of the 2013 chemical weapons incident.

“These actions are aimed at creating a new pretext for accusing the government of Syria of more chemical weapons attacks and provoking more strikes by the US,” said Colonel General Sergey Rudskoy, the head of Operations.

*edit* He says it in the video Pashalis just posted.

Excellent press conference from Putin. Truth to lies. I especially liked his quote from an author about the situation being "boring, boring." Psychopaths are not known for their creativity. They repeat the same stunts over and over again. How long will it take before enough people realize the same old game is being played?

Of course the Western media will twist Putin's meaning and make him out to be the devil.

I am surprised and I hope it continues so, that the BBC is taking a more neutral character ... here applies the phrase of lemons and lemonade, at these critical times many begin to ask questions.

Indeed. And to be presice, he actually said that the situation reminds him of the famous con artist Ostap Bender's quote "It's boring, girls!"...

Victurus Libertas VL:
From Robert Steele - We do now know (I did not know this at the time the below video was recorded and I have no link for this, it comes to me from an inside source) that former CIA Director John Brennan plotted this false flag attack, which may have involved some real sarin allegedly destroyed during the Obama Administration, with Senator John McCain and National Security Advisor Herbert McMaster. Brennan got the Saudis to pay half and McCain got Israel to pay half. They blind-sided – this is clearly treason – not only the Director of the CIA, but the President, the Secretary of State, and the Secretary of Defense. In my personal view, both John McCain and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be impeached by their respective legislative bodies. Whether true or not I cannot certify – it is consistent with my evaluation of each of these people, and a good starting point for an international investigation. I have long felt that John Brennan should be standing before the International Court of Justice as a war criminal, not least because of the CIA’s drone assassination program that I recently denounced in a book review article for Intelligence and National Security.

I get tired of these kind of sensationalist "inside sources" claims. He brings it down to a pretty crass level by saying "Saudi Arabia and Israeli split the cost". Really? How did that work? Did they each cut a check and send them to ISIS C/O the White Helmets? Or was it cash on delivery of the sarin? Or maybe funds wired to a Swiss bank account in the name of "al-Baghdadi"? Sticking a bunch of sarin (which can be made cheaply) in a building and then blowing it up with some cheap explosives hardly requires two states to put up funds for it. Have the people making these claims never heard of black budgets?

Reversed speech: Trumps speech to Congress one month after entering office by David Oates.

https://youtu.be/Bx2a5pLhLvY

I listened to this awhile ago and it had quite an impact on me, chilling to the bone. David Oates points out that Trumps reverse speech has gone from being strong and optimistic, he taped him for 1 1/2 years, to the complete opposite after entering office. Trump had become fearful for his life. I awoke this morning with this recording in my mind which I had forgotten and decided to post. I post it in this thread because, the question is now, has Trump caved into the dark side.

I don't know if reverse speech is legitimate. I did a search on the forum after initially listening to this recording for more information and didn't find much to tell me one way or another. I did see Laura did her own experimenting with it for awhile without success.

Reverse speech analysis isn't really something that anyone can take seriously given the highly subjective nature of the interpretation of it.

Agreed .
there seems to be so much biased nad cherry picking , any credible insights are lost.

On the other hand the famous Obama "Ye we Can" reversal .
might have been deliberite and for some of the singers 'Rehearsed'

Best to take the time and equipment and "Do it yourself" if possible.

Good points. I do wonder about Mr. Steele and any x-CIA suddenly appearing on the scene with juicy, insider info. As we speak here of distraction, perhaps this is one purpose. Its seems like RS would best be sitting in some underground bunker then his cushy home he's speaking from (maybe it is underground in some undisclosed location ) considering the information he shares. And what is to be done with this information and how does it affect those who hear it? Frustration, anger, unable to do anything about it? Maybe he's only interested in being a celebrity, who knows. Steve Pieczenik raised the interesting question for me, what psychological manipulation tactics are being used on the public? Disinformation is one biggy we know and think of all the consequences of that.

Joe, what do you think of Roger Stone? He seems genuine to me. Any thoughts?

edit: whoa! my post just hit the 666 mark!

All I know is that he is best friends with Alex Jones, has published a number of books and was recently explicitly mentioned in a senate hearing (or something to that extend).

He got his start as a dirty tricks operative for Nixon. I read his book on Nixon which was interesting.

As genuine as he can be I suppose, but that doesn't necessarily say a lot. People these days tend to be motivated by attention and are also too identified with one "camp" or "team" or another, which makes them see things in black and white terms, rather than the nuanced and complex reality that is wont to change at short notice (especially in these chaotic times).

If people commenting on it could take a step back and approach the global situation from a more disinterested perspective, as if they're here just to analyse the events without any serious 'skin in the game', I think they'd have a better chance of figuring out what's really going on. Easier said than done, I know. The stakes seem to be pretty high. But at those times it's helpful, I think, to approach reality from a more philosophical than material base. That doesn't mean you sit back and navel gaze, you can still get actively involved, but you keep your mind and emotions more free of the influence created by feeling personally invested in a specific outcome.

Yes! This is getting more and more tiring. Left or right or whatever you want to call them... Every little "demographic" is wallowing in getting hysterical about whatever headlines pass through their bubble.

The regulars here (excuse me for mentioning myself as a regular, I am not active, but I have a rough idea of what we do here) give ourselves the room to speculate pretty widely, BUT we know we are speculating. I am thinking of taking a break from the news. I look at a certain range of sources: contrarian, American left, American right and a little European. The first 3 have a certain hysterical flavor to them. It sort of seems one can say whatever one wants within the accepted narrative, and it will be retardedly accepted without the slightest self-awareness. As for the Europeans, it sometimes feels like they are trying to sit on the fence until they see where things end up: "let's just not piss off the Americans and get through this."

Sadly enough, if that is the case, I am not sure what to tell them to do that would be better other than boldly making an idealistic declaration of what they should do.

I hope you are right Oxajil. However Erdogan has twisted and meandered with the wind so many times it is hard for anyone to trust or rely on him.
The big vote to give him even more power is very soon. What happens after that will be quite telling. IMO.
Turkey also has a history of land grabbing using a crisis or otherwise. So Syria certainly has her many enemies to deal with.
Personally I hoped that the turn of events there could have empowered the Syrian government to close its skies and control / stop all enemy aircraft.
With troops and weapons constantly being increased by all enemies. Supplies continually coming through Turkey, maybe Jordan and Israel, Iraq. It is like one huge sieve. Eradicating rebels that are continually being replenished elsewhere. Dams and access to vital parts of Syria also being trashed.
The poor Syrians have the world and his dog descending on them - the vermin paid sub-human mercenaries. The horrors just seem to grow exponentially. Baiting Russia constantly too needs a very cool-headed President Putin who thankfully continues whatever intelligent diplomatic ways he can. Very admirable under all the overt and covert triggers.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how things develop. Some more thoughts on it have been shared here.

Perhaps Trump is playing a game with the neocons, but the feeling I get as this develops, is that even if he thinks that he is toying with the neocons, he could very well get snared in their web. The game is so complex, that even if Trump is smart and all that, it is hard to foresee all the consequences of such actions. The following statements from Trump now blaming Russia for the mess in Syria is not inspiring confidence in me that he is still, if he ever was, working for the good of things. (Edit:)That there are hardly any people in the US administration who have an understanding of Russia or Russian mentality and culture doesn't help. Ultimatums might work in Europe, but not in Russia or China for that matter.

Trump: 'If Russia Didn't Back Assad the Animal, You Wouldn't Have Problem'

US President Donald Trump stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin was supporting "a very bad man," and he believed such an alliance would be bad for Russia and the entire world.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US President Donald Trump blamed the current situation in Syria on Moscow's support for country's President Bashar Assad, calling the Syrian leader "an animal," in an exclusive interview with Fox Business on Wednesday.

"If Russia didn’t go in and back this animal [Assad], you wouldn’t have a problem right now," Trump said.

He stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin was supporting "a very bad man," and believed such an alliance would be bad for Russia and the entire world.

Commenting on recent US strikes on Syrian airfield, Trump stressed that he could not have acted differently.

"But when I see people using horrible, horrible chemical weapons … and see these beautiful kids that are dead in their father's arms, or you see kids gasping for life … when you see that, I immediately called General Mattis," Trump said.

The emotional flavour and the mentioning of beautiful kids being killed is not confidence inspiring. What if the kids had been ugly? What does a subjective view about the looks of kids have to do with a reasoning for launching missiles?

As for the remote possibility that Angelburst mentioned about 150000 soldiers on the ground and Trump then telling them to stand with Assad also has the big assumption that he has that command. I doubt it and Mattis or others will happily wreck Syria even without orders from Trump which Trump then would have to own up to, so as to show that he is in command. The CIA and the deep state are notorius for doing their things behind the back of the president only for him to later have to pretend that he gave the orders.

There are many factions vying for power and positions and working for all kinds of interests, which makes me think that things could well get ugly pretty soon, with or without 'beautiful babies'.
