Firth Of Fifth

The path is clear
Though no eyes can see
The course laid down long before.
And so with gods and men
The sheep remain inside their pen,
Though many times they've seen the way to leave.

He rides majestic
Past homes of men
Who care not or gaze with joy,
To see reflected there
The trees, the sky, the lily fair,
The scene of death is lying just below.

The mountain cuts off the town from view,
Like a cancer growth is removed by skill.
Let it be revealed.
A waterfall, his madrigal.
An inland sea, his symphony.

Undinal songs
Urge the sailors on
Till lured by the sirens' cry.

Now as the river dissolves in sea,
So Neptune has claimed another soul.
And so with gods and men
The sheep remain inside their pen,
Until the Shepherd leads his flock away.

The sands of time were eroded by
The river of constant change,

Sinead O'Connor - The Foggy Dew (with The Chieftains)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13MQFCfCYdQ

As down the glen one Easter morn
To a city fair rode I,
Their armed lines of marching men
In squadrons passed me by.
No pipe did hum, no battle drum
Did sound its loud tattoo
But the Angelus' bells o'er the Liffey's wells
Rang out in the foggy dew.

Right proudly high in Dublin town
Hung they out a flag of war.
'Twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky
Than at Suvla or Sud el Bar.
And from the plains of Royal Meath
Strong men came hurrying through;
While Brittania's Huns with their long-range guns
Sailed in through the foggy dew.

The bravest fell, and the requiem bell
Rang mournfully and clear
For those who died that Easter-tide
In the springing of the year.
While the world did gaze with deep amaze
At those fearless men but few
Who bore the fight that freedom's light
Might shine through the foggy dew.

And back through the glen I rode again
And my heart with grief was sore
For I parted then with valiant men
Whom I never shall see more
But to and fro
In my dreams I go
And I kneel and pray for you
For slavery fled
Oh, glorious dead
When you fell in the foggy dew

Sinéad O'Connor - Óró, Sé Do Bheatha 'Bhaile http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5ySVDBtEfo

That's a song! :cool2:

The Dubliners- Oro Se Do Bheathe 'Bhaile http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VG2hJXLcwg

And this is my favorite version of this great song sang by Darach Ó Catháin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AFRCWg_kOc

It's like singing a prayer. Reminds me of Prayer of the Soul a lot. :) Dance of the soul?

Found translation In English, although I don't know how close is to the original text. If someone has it, post it please.

Óró, you are welcome home!

Welcome o woman who was so afflicted,

It was our ruin that you were in bondage

Our fine land in the possession of thieves,

Sold to the Foreigners.

Óró, you are welcome home! Óró, you are welcome home!

Oro, you are welcome home! Now that the Summer is coming.

Gráinne Mhaol and a thousand warriors,

Armed warriors along with her as a guard

They are Irish themselves, not Foreigners nor Spaniards,

And they will rout the Foreigners.

And I have a question, if someone knows Basque language, but doesn't know the Irish language, and heard this song does it make sense to him in his/her own language. I heard Basque language spoken a couple of times only, but I kind of hear a couple of languages sang together. Maybe, I'm loosing my mind... :) It's just a wild thought I had while listening this song.

And thank you, Zadius Sky for reminding me of Sinead O'Connor. I like her music very much since long time ago. She has an incredibly beautiful voice.

Sainkho Namtchylak is a "famous throat singer from Siberia. Sainkho Namtchylak was born in a small village of the Republic of Tuva, in southern Siberia. Tuva is famous for its diphonic style of singing, the "khöömei", of shamanic origin. Throat singers use their voices to create the sounds of the natural world. The sounds of whistling birds, bubbling streams, howling wolves and blowing wind are often incorporated into the music. Because the horse is such an integral part of Tuvan culture, many songs are performed to a rhythm that mimics the beat of a horse cantering across the wild, open land. The music also is closely tied to Tuvan spiritual beliefs."

"Sainkho Namtchylak began her career as a folk singer and toured in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Canada. In 1988, she joined the group Tri-O, a group of creative jazz and became famous in the West. Her record "Out of Tuva", made between 1989 and 1993 in Kyzyl, Moscow, Paris and Brussels, is considered as a masterpiece of ethno-pop music. She has sung with singers from Algeria, Spain, Peru... She sings in Russian, English and her mother tongue, Tuvan. She has made 28 albums and won 3 international prizes. Sainkho Namtchylak has experienced all kind of music, from classical to jazz and ethnic."

'Wavin' Flag' by K'naan (Was the Official 2012 Word Cup Theme)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxmEd9lcn0k
Remind me of how we should move forward, be stronger and strive for freedom.

Selected parts of the song:
...
So many wars, settling scores,
Bringing us promises, leaving us poor,
I heard them say, love is the way,
Love is the answer, that's what they say,

But look how they treat us, Make us believers,
We fight their battles, then they deceive us,
Try to control us, they couldn't hold us,
Cause we just move forward like Buffalo Soldiers.

But we struggling, fighting to eat,
And we wondering, when we'll be free
So we patiently wait, for that faithful day,

It's not far away, but for now we say,

>> My favorite Part: [Chorus]
When I get older, I will be stronger,
They'll call me freedom, just like a Waving Flag,

And then it goes back, and then it goes back,
And then it goes back
...
(Ohhhh Ohhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhh)
And everybody will be singing it
(Ohhhh Ohhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhh)
And you and I will be singing it

Dear all,
I first wanted to make a new post just to share you a music which makes me feels strangely (in the good way).

My apologies for late response, voyager. When I click on the link, I get a blank page. I don't know why it's not working for me. I've tried several times with the same result.

"The Grudge"
by: Tool

Wear the grudge like a crown of negativity.
Calculate what we will or will not tolerate.
Desperate to control all and everything.
Unable to forgive your scarlet lettermen.

Clutch it like a cornerstone. Otherwise it all comes down.
Justify denials and grip 'em to the lonesome end.
Clutch it like a cornerstone. Otherwise it all comes down.
Terrified of being wrong. Ultimatum prison cell.

Saturn ascends, choose one or ten. Hang on or be humbled again.

Clutch it like a cornerstone. Otherwise it all comes down.
Justify denials and grip 'em to the lonesome end.
Saturn ascends, comes round again.
Saturn ascends, the one, the ten. Ignorant to the damage done.

Wear the grudge like a crown of negativity.
Calculate what we will or will not tolerate.
Desperate to control all and everything.
Unable to forgive your scarlet lettermen.

Wear your grudge like a crown. Desperate to control.
Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper.

Defining, confining, controlling, and we're sinking deeper.

Saturn comes back around to show you everything
Let's you choose what you will not see and then
Drags you down like a stone or lifts you up again
Spits you out like a child, light and innocent.

Saturn comes back around. Lifts you up like a child or
Drags you down like a stone
To consume you till you choose to let this go.

Give away the stone. Let the oceans take and
Trans mutate this cold and fated anchor.
Give away the stone. Let the waters kiss and
Trans mutate these leaden grudges into gold.
Let go.

Fantastic these two voices, strong like the voices of two gods. Pavarotti and James Brown.
