"Each side of the album is a continuous piece of music. The five tracks on each side reflect various stages of human life, beginning and ending with a heartbeat, exploring the nature of the human experience, and (according to Waters) "empathy".[8] "Speak to Me" and "Breathe" together stress the mundane and futile elements of life that accompany the ever-present threat of madness, and the importance of living one's own life – "Don't be afraid to care".[23] By shifting the scene to an airport, the synthesizer-driven instrumental "On the Run" evokes the stress and anxiety of modern travel, in particular Wright's fear of flying.[24] "Time" examines the manner in which its passage can control one's life and offers a stark warning to those who remain focused on mundane aspects; it is followed by a retreat into solitude and withdrawal in "Breathe (Reprise)". The first side of the album ends with Wright and vocalist Clare Torry's soulful metaphor for death, "The Great Gig in the Sky".[4] Opening with the sound of cash registers and loose change, the first track on side two, "Money", mocks greed and consumerism using tongue-in-cheek lyrics and cash-related sound effects (ironically, "Money" has been the most commercially successful track from the album, with several cover versions produced by other bands).[25] "Us and Them" addresses the isolation of the depressed with the symbolism of conflict and the use of simple dichotomies to describe personal relationships. "Any Colour You Like" concerns the lack of choice one has in a human society. "Brain Damage" looks at a mental illness resulting from the elevation of fame and success above the needs of the self; in particular, the line "and if the band you're in starts playing different tunes" reflects the mental breakdown of former bandmate Syd Barrett. The album ends with "Eclipse", which espouses the concepts of alterity and unity, while forcing the listener to recognise the common traits shared by humanity"

"Questions" By INXS. A simple but very effective song.

How do you know when it's time for you to go?
How can you stop when you don't know how to start?
How can you go back when you don't know why you're here?
How can you see when your eyes begin to fade?
How will you hear when you've heard it all before?
How do you do all the things you want to do?

How much can you take when you've taken all you can?
Hoe can you act when you've never seen the script?
How can you choose when you don't know which is right?
How far can you go if you've been there before?
How can you shine if you've never seen the sun?
How does a child become a man without a child?
How can you heal someone that doesn't want to heal?

I feel this is a good one for all those who have been in or know someone who was in a relationship with a person of a pathological nature.

NinaMosi,

Those were crazy good I think. Clare Bowen has a great voice and Harry Chapin is a poet with a way with words and music (for me anyway).

I had never heard Clare Bowen before and her voice really grabbed me.

Here is a very romantic and idealistic (maybe wishful thinking?) song by Clare, kind of about your polar-opposite will find you song:

This is a long one I found and had to listen to the words from Harry Chapin - There Only Was One Choice (Dance Band on the Titanic):

Thank you, for sharing your thoughts/feelings! I found Clare Bowen awhile back and felt resonance with her Black Roses, thought it was time to share my find. Her voice is ethereal.

The Rock - by Harry Chapin was a recent find thought it was a good one about warnings, when one is dealing with the resistance from authoritarian followers and those with cognitive basis. He is another great find to listen to!

Thank you, for posting more from them and I'm glad you liked them too! :)

Because I LOVE the deep sound of the Cello, Adam Hurst is a personal favorite.

I got the honor and pleasure of meeting him in person a couple of years back. He is a warm, open, down to earth, peaceful soul with strong character.

One of so many from him that I love.

And Ludovico Einaudi is another personal favorite that I listen to for long periods of time.

had a northern lad
well not exactly had
he moved like the sunset
god who painted that
first he loved my accent
how his knees could bend
i thought we’d be ok
me and my molasses
but i feel something is wrong
but i feel this cake just isn’t done
don’t say that you don’t
and if you could see me now
said if you could see me now
girls you’ve got to know
when it’s time to turn the page
when you’re only wet because of the rain
you know it’s time to change
he don’t show much these days
it gets so f*cking cold
i loved his secret places
but i don’t go anymore
“you change like sugar cane”
says my northern lad
i guess you go too far
when pianos try to be guitars
i feel the west in you
and i feel it’s falling apart too
don’t say that you don’t
and if you could see me now
said if you could see me now
girls you’ve got to know
when it’s time to turn the page
when you’re only wet because of the rain
you know it’s time to change
when you’re only wet
because of the rain
