David Francey and this song always finds me in a thinkin' mood.

One of the things I particularly like about the David Francey track above, is the way the song is recorded using only the human voice, without any backing musical instrumentation. The song starts with him singing alone, but each verse adds a new harmony voice, so that at the end it becomes kind of a choral piece.

It reminds me of a very beautiful song by Sinead O'Connor called "In this Heart", which uses a similar production technique.

Another good example is by a Canadian music trio called The Wailin' Jennys and their take on the traditional Irish folk ballad called "The Parting Glass".

It has been a long while since I didn't listen to this song! Thanks Menrva, such a great track.

Today I was listening to some of Alondra de la Parra's concerts, she is a great Mexican orchestra director, and this piece is a very traditional Mexican symphony played with an amazing orchestra:

I think in some way it's very cheerful, and almost very colorful and joyful like some Mexican cities :)

Thanks, PerfectCircle, Marina9 and 987baz.

Stan Getz was really popular in the 60s as well as Peter, Paul and Mary who were one of my favorite groups at the time. A bit more serious but maybe I was too, I don't know.

Blowing in the Wave... I mean Blowing in the Wind

And this one I am not sure exactly what it is about, maybe a journey through life. It has kind of haunting lyrics I think.
