What are you listening to?

This just came up on my recommended vids selection, YouTube reels me in with an old classic concert, a vintage from Glastonbury 1995 featuring Oasis at their callow, impetuous best. There's no way in hell I'd stump up the 400 quid to catch them live next year, but the archive of old gigs is endless. A real old gem this one. No-one back then thought they'd last the test of time, but here we are, they have. Essential viewing for fans of the band. They were so hungry back then, and the attitude? Hah, part of the appeal. :cool2:

A Mancunian take on the old blues. Just beautifully well constructed and played. This is the last Oasis post from me, honest. I hadn't listened to them in ages and I'd forgotten how much I loved their early stuff. This song reminds me of the neighbour from hell I had in the summer of 1997 in North London. He'd play banging house music till 4am, drove me crazy. So this song helps to exorcise the rage I expressed back in the day arguing with that dude. We've all had that kind of cliquey, factional phase in our lives, where there's just some people where you just go, "no. I just don't like you". I think it's a quiet truth of a good many people. Think of that idea when you listen to this ingenious little song which closed their 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe. It's been 30 freakin' years since I first heard this, by god I'm getting old!

Sorry I lied, THIS is the last Oasis post from me. My rock n' roll itch has been scratched for a week or so now. Their songs are big, wide in scope, and all-inclusive for singalong choruses. They took what The Stone Roses began, and just ran off with it. Noel has written about 30 all time classic songs in his career, and that really is quite something to achieve. I can exercise my vagus nerve to these songs quite happily.:-)
