What's for breakfast?

Black tea, huh ? I still need my hot mug of coffee in order to begin the day, however I don't drink coffee during the day... What else can replace coffee ?

A good glass of water. Nothing like that in the morning. ;D

If you need a pick-me-up? Warrior's Breath does wonders! :)

I had this stuff a few months ago called Dandy Blend, which is a coffee substitute that is gluten free. It talks about this on their website, maybe you would want to check it out. _http://www.dandyblend.com/

I thought it was pretty tasty if a little bitter. It has a lot of minerals and such due to the herbs in it (dandelion, chicory, etc). I would try it again for sure.

I don't know if I can find this stuff in France. And I'm not gonna order it online if I can just grab some air and shout ;p

Most mornings:
Blinis fried in bacon fat OR buckwheat creamy hot cereal with xylitol
Thick sliced bacon (2-3) slices per person and/or sausage
One or two eggs.

Not tired of this yet either. :)

It's evil - has other gluten containing grains in it.

Sounds like Teechino--which has a lot of barley in it for flavor. Had to give mine away.

I drink dandy blend on occasion, and I read up on it before I started drinking it. According to their website:

http://www.dandyblend.com/ said:
It is made of water-soluble extracts of roasted roots of dandelion, chicory and beets, and the grains of barley and rye. Nothing else is added. While we make no claims for Dandy Blend other than that it is a delicious herbal beverage with the taste, body, and texture of coffee, the ingredients - dandelion, chicory and beet roots, and barley and rye grains - are all health-promoting foods respected throughout the world.
It contains no gluten. Gluten, which is comprised of proteins that are not water-soluble, is left behind in the grounds to be composted during the extracting process, leaving Dandy Blend gluten-free.

I took this to mean that although they use barley and rye to make the stuff, they use water extracts that leave the gluten behind because the proteins are not water-soluble. Do you think this is a lie? Or is any food that comes in contact with wheat, barley, rye, etc. somehow tainted by gluten and automatically "evil"? I'm not trying to be argumentative, just trying to understand.

As for what I eat for breakfast....

I usually eat bacon or sausage and a couple of eggs. If I'm feeling hungry I make some kasha and eat it with butter or coconut oil. Usually I mix in some frozen blueberries and/or raspberries. I have a red beans recipe that I like, its about half bacon and sausage, so if I have leftovers I eat that instead of the kasha. Once in a while I make shredded potato hash browns.

Sometimes I have a cup of yerba mate, sometimes a cup of green tea, sometimes black tea, sometimes rooibus redbush tea, sometimes herbal tea.

The usual morning fun Bacon, sausage, blinis cook in lard with a little raspberry jam (no sugar) fried egg fresh from the coop and earl grey tea. Been eating the same breakfast for months feels great and not sick of it yet what a way to start the day!

What are blinis?? They seem to be on everyones plates. Are they same as flap jacks but fried?.. (gluten free I presume)
