What's for Dinner?

Seasoned and spiced lamb mince, fried in lard then mixed with quinoa and served with some steamed veggies.

Tonight I did a shepherd pie, well a variation of, with the chicken left over from Monday. I toppled it with mash potatoes in which I use butter and duck fat and beef broth. I served it with fruit ketchup and homemade picked beet. I did pear muffin with chocolate chip for desert using half butter and half coconut oil. Got  from my two love one.

Meat pie made with buckwheat. Thick, left over blini batter (buckwheat, salt, water, turmeric, coconut flakes) was used after thickening some more; garlic pieces and plenty of ground beef added; some melted lard drizzled on top, and some ginger added; then heating in (already heated up) oven kept at 200 C setting for about 30 minutes. Was great; had with about 2/3rd of the contents of a coconut got today.

Tonight it was steak with baked sweet potatoes. We were both too tired for any kind of dessert, so it was a cup of tea for me, and a cup of decaf for Hubby. (Leftovers will make super yummy breakfast/lunch.)

edit: Because Dinner time is my Favorite time. :wow: :wow: :wow:

I do too! What is so interesting is seeing how many menu ideas are out there for living a life totally free of gluten and dairy and other harmful things that the sad, sleeping, poisoned people think are food.

Yep, I'm gathering irresistible recipes for my wifey.

Happy Days will come again.

My evening meals have been a bit rubbish recently, so hadn't thought to post...but what the heck.

Last night I had left over blini's (I keep some in the fridge), with left over beef mince (fried in lard), and smoked mackerel fillets :)

I know it's "evil" but fried dill pickles are hard to beat

On the curry and nightshades issue... I've never eliminated chillies from my diet as they seem to be in every dish to some point. And I don't what it is in curry that makes me "happy" but both my children feel the same affect after eating it... Maybe nightshades work for us... if there is some info about another spice in curry that could account for this I would be glad to review it, likewise if nightshades are that bad for me I will consider also...

I eat a fusion of Cajun, Mexican, Indian and Thai diet that all include chillies, tomatoes and eggplant... all of which I understand to be nightshades....

My biggest problem has been trying to find i "new" bread substitute.. I haven"t been able to find the buckwheat and other "flours"

Tonight is was a simple leek soup with garlic and organic chicken broth and 2 eggs sunny side up on the side
That 'happy' effect sounds potentially like MSG. fwiw you should be careful with foods that make you 'happy'.....nightshades (especially chilli) can raise blood pressure and get endorphins going (another 'happy' feeling)....mostly because the body thinks its been poisoned.

Tonight had backed sweet potato leftovers, fatty pieces of pork with cumin, turmeric and garlic done in the oven, and sliced green beans with dill and garlic made slowly in the pan. Tomorrow will have the same, with quinoa blinis instead of sweet potatoes.

Last night i had white quinoa done in saved chicken fat (from the last oven baked chicken we had) with canned smoked mackerel fish.
