Thank you Andre, that looks nice. :)
I wonder if that is how things will look when the Ice Age comes. Maybe that heat wave from Africa will become constant and will save us (those areas who are under red color) from the polar ice.

Well, that's something that was fell to my mind recently. It seems that in the Balkans, a lot of plant species have allegedly been survived during the last Ice Age, which lived before in all of Europe. This would mean that there were "warm" summers in contrast to the north of Europe. Perhaps this is what is our futures - but, we could just wait and see, as usually. :/

During the last interglacial period and the most recent glaciation of the Pleistocene (from 131,000 till 12,000 BP), Europe was very different from the Balkans. The glaciations did not affect southeastern Europe to the extent that they did in the northern and central regions. The evidence of forest and steppe indicate the influence was not so drastic; some species of flora and fauna survived only in the Balkans. The Balkans today still abound in species endemic only to this part of Europe.

So far this summer, at least in Italy, it was one of the hottest summers in many years...

At least since 2003 when there was a heat wave in Europe. I was in Italy back then and I remember that temperatures at night were near or above 30 degrees in some regions. It was awful. The fan just spread the hot air around.

It has been consistently hot in Spain with an occasional storm and then who knows what will fall from the sky. Temperatures dropped to 12 degrees Celsius in a few nights, but nobody talks about that. The day when there was golf-sized hail, the sky looked pretty dense and dark. You just knew that it was going to be very bad. It hailed 15 minutes straight and it felt pretty chilly.

It is very dry were I live in Northern Spain, so it doesn't feel nearly as hot even with 40 C.

Yeah only in case that poles don't shift like in the Age of Mammoths as Pierre summarized in his latest article on Sott... I would like to be spared from heat waves like this one, so maybe if North pole could shift by 20 or 30 degrees so that Balkans area end up somehow on higher longitude - like Scandinavia is today - away from new Equator :ninja: - maybe than this could have some cooling effects in regional politics. Imagine Balkans becomes like Scandinavia :scared: hehe hehe

By the way here is site that i stumbled upon with this map from my post: http://wxshift.com/news/luicifer-europe-intense-heat-wave

It's just your wishful thinking, I'm afraid! :jawdrop:

I'm just kidding, of course! :)

Strangely cool here in Eastern NC. 75F at the moment. Clear blue skies and warm sunshine. Usually > 100F in mid August.

Chilly and raining here north of Toulouse.

Had a few hot, sunny days, then a T storm, then cooled and cloudy ever since. 17 C / 63 F right now.

Yeah, BC is awash in smoke right now from all the wildfires. Interesting picture of the moon. I have seen both the morning sun and the evening sun showing up as blood red. I tried to take a picture on my cell phone, but it wasn't really able to capture it. I have definitely been thinking of prophesy's when I see both the sun and the moon blood red... :wow:

Quite rightly the wildfires are quite prominent on the news, and the weather reports, and I can't tell you how many times they have referenced that it is thought that these fires are started by people dropping cigarette butts. Of course, no proof, but it must be put out there.

Some of these fires are in extremely remote areas, so I was was thinking, maybe these fires are started by teenagers, dropping lit cigarettes out of helicopters, as there isn't really any other way to access any of these places... :D

Still very hot in Macedonia. During the day it's over 40C and it is very hard to sleep at night. Forecasts are that from Monday temperatures will drop for 10 to 15 C.
This is definitely the hottest summer that I remember.

There is one myth among people here that you can see how strong will be the next winter by the temperatures in the summer. If the summer is very hot then the coming winter will be very harsh and cold.
We will see.

It's been a bit of a mixed bag of weather here on the northern tablelands, NSW, Aust., over the winter months. The conditions started off very mild with good rainfall, but over the last 5 weeks or so, the nights have been cool with some heavy morning frosts.

Where I live seems to mostly be the limit of the reach of the southerly cold fronts this winter, thus giving us only a few cold days. The warmer northerly winds from low pressure troughs have prevailed, even bringing a storm front or two, unusual for this time of year.

Again this year, some of the trees seem confused with the weather. One of our apple trees is in partial bloom and has even held it's flower in spite of the heavy frosts, an impressive feat. Another is loaded with buds, ready to flower.

Tonight it is quite mild and next week is forecast for unseasonably warm days, followed by a major cold front. No wonder the trees are confused .

Here in south Germany it is also pretty chilly for August and very rainy. If you look out of the window you could think it is already autumn.

On Wednesday night at 9 am in the capital of Sonora, Mexico, there was a great downpour with a electric storm and winds up to 85 kms per hour that lasted 45 minutes. Today friday 11, we have 41° C with a thermal sensation of 48.

This morning, just north of Toulouse, it's 12 C/ 54 F though the sun is shining after several cloudy days. It acts like a cold front passed during the clouds and rain and now cooler air is here.

The weather prediction is that it will warm up to 25 C/ 77 F but that is nowhere near a summer weather temp!!!

I wore long sleeves all day yesterday and looks like it will be a sweater today!

The Luzzifferr was persistent in Dalmazzia till this morning with some heavy clouds covering the sky - anyway no other clothes except shorts not needed yet. "Dišemo na škrge" (We're breathing with the gills only) locals say here in the times of heat waves like this.

Go go for some rain! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Rain dance, but just picturing it, since tryn' no to make any excessive movements:

:bacon: :bacon: :bacon:
