Let me show you this...Prayer Of The Soul to Music

Thanks guys for all the different renditions! I like listening to different interpretations of lyrics/music and they're all great!

Here's a POTS in my own style. It's written in odd time signatures (7/8+5/8, 7/4, and plain 7/8) but I think it flows well. Let me know what you think!

Sorry AI, I was trying to get this link to work but I keep getting an error page... is it still available somewhere? Thanks!

I would also like to add that it has been nice to have the different renditions to listen to!

This past week, I put Aragorn's version (to the tune of Amazing Grace) on the car stereo while driving and I found it very therapeutic to sing along! Just belting out a song along with someone who knows how to sing works pretty good for me to kind of relieve tension. I encourage you all to try it, even if like me, you can't carry a tune (luckily I do it while alone in the car!)

So thanks again, Aragorn, and all of you, for your contributions!

Awesome thanks! Amazing composition I must say! I thoroughly enjoyed that....

Soul Prayer, Ambient Style

I was thinking of writing an ambient guitar/synth piece and doing the Soul Prayer from the EE program in spoken word form over top of the music, that is if it's cool with everyone. I would make it available to download for free of course. Let me know if this idea interests anyone.

Re: Soul Prayer, Ambient Style

I had a listen to the track you showed me. I liked the minimalist approach and the vocals sounded very sincere. What I had in mind was a bit different. I was planning on doing a track about 10-15 minutes long that is atmospheric and more "meditative." I had a feeling this idea had been done before, but that hasn't stopped [insert derivative pop band here], right? :D

Music is my primary "work" in this life and since I can't help people understand quantum physics very well, I figured I could be of service the best way I currently know how. I most often play "metal" but I thought I could bring it way, way down into an ambient track. I'll give it a go anyway and post my results.

If anyone is interested I could also be down for some collaborative work. I have a small home-recording studio of sorts and do my recording with Cubase and mastering with Fruityloops (lulz, it gets the job done). As long as we sync tempos and time signatures, it's a piece of cake to do long-range collaboration.

My Take on the Prayer of the Soul (yet another)

After I got the urge to record a song incorporating the Prayer of the Soul, I discovered that several others had already done so and beautifully, at that. I went ahead and did my own rendition since I was already set on doing it. You can add it to your Prayer of the Soul megamix. It's a quiet, ambient-ish, and meditative piece. It seems fairly redundant to do something like this, but it's already done now, and I'm since I'm starting to sound redundant myself, here's the download link:

Give it away, spread it around, put your dog to sleep with it, do whatever you want with it. Enjoy. :)

Re: My Take on the Prayer of the Soul (yet another)

I don't know how to do stuff on that site. Can you put it on youtube???

Re: My Take on the Prayer of the Soul (yet another)

Sure thing! Just have to whip up a little video, or shall I say, the music set to a static image for the sake of laziness. ;)

I also had to make a new youtube account for anonymity purposes.

I'll post a link to said video when I'm done.

That's actually rather nice. It would make great background for getting a massage or just relaxing in a recliner on the back terrace in the sun.

Re: My Take on the Prayer of the Soul (yet another)

Thank you. :)

This is quite a departure from the kind of stuff I usually do. Perhaps I'll do some more mellow instrumental music and post it here.

That's pretty good. It'll be nice to put on repeat for quiet moments and stretching. :)

Thanks Desiderata for making this. :flowers:
It's very soothing and ideal for background/ambience while pondering things, at least for me.
