Cancer: causes and cures

Re: Cancer is really a Fungus

Dant and 3D resident:

I think it´s difficult to change the pH of the body in a appreciable quantity because the blood is a buffer (a chemical term) which is a system that regulate any pH change, if you add acid, the basic part of the blood buffer reacts and neutralize the acid excess, the same with alkaline sustances. People with kidney calculus generally have problems with this system, if their bood is very acid they get uric acid calculus, if their boold is more alkaline you get calcium oxalate calculus.

http://www.chemistry.wustl.edu/~courses/genchem/Tutorials/Buffers/carbonic.htm

I think that the solution is precisely to mix sodium bicarbonate with a little of vitamic c. They will react to produce sodium ascorbate plus CO2. The sodium ascorbate is now alkaline and when go in in blood they will transform again in ascorbic acid. But this can only be done it with the amount of bicarbonate to take, because if you transform all the vitamic c in ascorbate you will take very much sodium!
Remember that sodium bicarbonate (because of sodium) will rise the arterial pressure, ( very bad for persons with hearth diseases) and you would become thirsty at least, the ideal would be potassium bicarbonate.

I think the better is to deliver the NaHCO3 inside the body, as the protocol advice, because you could get a much alkaline media in the intestines and promote that candida grows there

It is true that buffering is done in the the blood but Plasma bicarbonate concentrations are shown to increase after oral ingestion. The most important effect of bicarbonate ingestion is the change in acid-base balance as well as blood pH and bicarbonate concentration in boilogical fluids.

And Galaxia 2002 also wrote

It has been found that Sodium Bicarbonate does NOT elevate the blood pressure as table sald does.

I think you understand that it is the opposite of what you have stated, but just didn't get the sentence down right when you were writing it.

It is the alkaline environment which destroys yeast and mold infestation, so the idea is to make the environment of the intestine (and all the body tissues, of course) as alkaline as possible within the paramaters of reasonableness in doing so which will inhibit and destroy the fungal parasites.

Well, I thought it as a function of the intestinal flora which, when it is well balanced fights against candida:

_http://www.scribd.com/doc/8075469/The-Composition-Of-The-Intestinal-Micro-Flora-Human-Intestinal-Flora

The pH in the intestines

The pH in the intestines is very important for a good intestinal function. The stomach has a very low pH of around 2-4. This is important for the digestion and the killing of harmful bacteria in the food. In the intestines the pH increases gradually towards the large intestine. Lactic acid producing bacteria prefer an acidic environment whereas an alkaline environment favours putrefactive bacteria. There is a bacterial war going on in our intestines between putrefactive and fermentative bacteria.Fermentative bacteria produce organic acids to keep a low pH, which favours their growth and activity.Putrefactive bacteria produce ammonia to increase the pH, favouring their growth and activity. If the pH increases putrefactive bacteria and pathogenic forms of Candida get the chance to grow and inhibit the growth of lactic acid producing bacteria. This can cause a lot of damage to the intestine. Increase of the intestinal pH may be due to low production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach or frequent use of acid inhibitors. It can also be caused by antibiotic treatment, which has killed the healthy flora and given way to putrefactive bacteria. Surgery, constipation and bad diets with excessive meat and animal fat also stimulate putrefaction.

The problem I can see when you introduce the NaHCO3 orally in a medium or large term treatment is that it could disbalance the intestinal pH favoring bad bacteria. Of couse there is a compromise between kill candida and good bacteria. Who prevails?

Asparagus Cures Cancer?

Received the following email today:

Asparagus and Cancer

My Mom had been taking the full-stalk canned style asparagus that she pureed and she took 4 tablespoons in the morning and 4 tablespoons later in the day. She did this for over a month. She is on chemo pills for Stage 3 lung cancer in the pleural area and her cancer cell count went from 386 down to 125 as of this past week. Her oncologist said she does not need to see him for 3 months.

THE ARTICLE:

Several years ago, I had a man seeking asparagus for a friend who had cancer. He gave me a photocopied copy of an article entitled `Asparagus for Cancer' printed in Cancer News Journal, December 1979. I will share it here, just as it was shared with me I am a bio chemist, and have specialized in the relation of diet to health for over 50 years.

..Several years ago, I learned of the discovery of Richard R. Vensal, D.D.S. that asparagus might cure cancer. Since then, I have worked with him on his project. We have accummulated a number of favorable case histories. Here are a few examples:

Case No. 1

A man with an almost hopeless case of Hodgkin's disease (cancer of the lymph glands) who was completely incapacitated. Within 1 year of starting the asparagus therapy, his doctors were unable to detect any signs of cancer and he was back on a schedule of strenuous exercise.

Case No. 2

A successful businessman 68 years old who suffered from cancer of the bladder for 16 years. After years of medical treatments, including radiation without improvement, he went on asparagus. Within 3 months, examinations revealed that his bladder tumor had disappeared and that his kidneys were normal.

Case No. 3

A man who had lung cancer. On March 5th, 1971, he was put on the operating table where they found lung cancer so widely spread that it was inoperable. The surgeon sewed him up and declared his case hopeless. On April 5th he heard about the asparagus therapy and immediately started taking it. By August, x-ray pictures revealed that all signs of the cancer had disappeared.. He is back at his regular business routine.

Case No. 4

A woman who was troubled for a number of years with skin cancer. She finally developed different skin cancers which were diagnosed by asking specialist as advanced.. Within 3 months after starting on asparagus, her skin specialist said that her skin looked fine and no more skin lesions. This woman reported that the asparagus therapy also cure her kidney disease, which started in 1949.

She had over 10 operations for kidney stones and was receiving government disability payments for an inoperable, terminal kidney condition. She attributes the cure of this kidney trouble entirely to the asparagus.I was not surprised at this result, as `The elements of material medica', edited in 1854 by a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania , stated that asparagus was used as a popular remedy for kidney stones. He even referred to experiments, in 1739, on the power of asparagus in dissolving stones.

We would have other case histories but the medical establishment has interfered with our obtaining some of the records. I am therefore appealing to readers to spread this news and help us to gather a large number of case histories that will overwhelm the medical skeptics about this unbelievably simple and natural remedy. For the treatment, asparagus should be cooked before using and, therefore, canned asparagus is just as good as fresh. I have corresponded with the two leading canners of asparagus, Giant and Stokely, and I am satisfied that these brands contain no pesticides or preservatives. Place the cooked asparagus in a blender and liquefy to make a puree, and store in the refrigerator.

Give the patient 4 full tablespoons twice daily, morning and evening. Patients usually show some improvement in from 2-4 weeks. It can be diluted with water and used as a cold or hot drink. This suggested dosage is based on present experience but certainly larger amounts can do no harm and may be needed in some cases. As a biochemist, I am convinced of the old saying that `what cures can prevent'.

Based on this theory, my wife and I have been using asparagus puree as a beverage with our meals. We take 2 tablespoons diluted in water to suit our taste with breakfast and with dinner. I take mine hot and my wife prefers hers cold. For years we have made it a practice to have blood surveys taken as part of our regular checkups.

The last blood survey, taken by a medical doctor who specializes in the nutritional approach to health, showed substantial improvements in all categories over the last one, and we can attribute these improvements to nothing but the asparagus drink... As a biochemist, I have made an extensive study of all aspects of cancer and all of the proposed cures. As a result, I am convinced that asparagus fits in better with the latest theories about cancer. Asparagus contains a good supply of protein called histones, which are believed to be active in controlling cell growth. For that reason, I believe asparagus can be said to contain a substance that I call cell growth normalizer. That accounts for its action on cancer and in acting as a general body tonic. In any event, regardless of theory, asparagus used as we suggest, is a harmless substance.

The FDA cannot prevent you from using it and it may do you much good.. It has been reported by the US National Cancer Institute that asparagus is the highest tested food containing glutathione which is considered one of the body's most potent anticarcinogens and antioxidants I received this email from a friend and I? anxious to pass it on. Asparagus is a delicious vegie so, no matter how you feel about the above, it certainly would not hurt putting credence to it, you have nothing to lose!

Hmm!

And I joked about Asparagus in:

I guess I'd better start listening to my spouse more, stop
joking or complaining, and start taking her more seriously!

My spouse's intuition goes a lot farther than my own! :)

Re: Asparagus Cures Cancer?

Reading this email made me curious, so I did some checking.

Asparagus officinalis - http://www.dietobio.com/aliments/en/asparagus.html

The asparagus is a member of the lily family, which also includes onions, leeks and garlic.
They have been cultivated for more than 2000 years in South of Europe. The green type is most common but you can also find white asparagus.

Health benefits

Asparagus are poor in calories and loaded with vitamins and minerals. They are a good source of folic acid, vitamin A, B vitamins and vitamin C.

They are also a fair source of calcium and fiber.

100 g of asparagus provide only 24 calories. The same amount provides 146 mg of vitamin B9 that is 1/3 of our recommended daily allowances.

Vitamin B9 is particularly important for pregnant women since not enough of it can cause the birth of a baby with spina bifida.

Asparagus have detoxifying and diuretic effects. Their fibers help us clean out our gastrointestinal tract. They also help the body get rid of the excess water.

Asparagus also contains the phytochemical glutathione, which has antioxidant and anticarcinogenic properties.

There are old beliefs that asparagus could increase feelings of compassion and love, promote fertility, reduce menstrual cramping, and increase milk production in nursing mothers. In some countries they are also used as an aphrodisiac.

Some people notice a strong urine odor after eating asparagus. Asparagus contains a sulfur compound called a mercaptan which when broken down releases a funny scent.

The odor will disappear when the asparagus is completely digested and absorbed.

Careful:

This vegetable is not-recommended to people who suffer of cystitis, gut and arthritis. For this last disease, researchers are not sure if it would aggravate or reduce the pain.

How to eat it?

First of all, asparagus must be washed under running water. The ends might hold dirt. Cut the white end, which is usually dirty and hard.

You can then cook them but be careful, do not overdo them, they would become bitter.

The best way to cook asparagus is to steam them. That way they will keep their flavor and vitamins.
Use a deep and lidded pot or a pressure cooker.

Fill the pot with water and bring to boil. Them place the asparagus tied together upright so the delicate ends will not be heated intensively. Cook for 8 minutes.

If you use a pressure cooker, fill the bottom with water them place the asparagus on the basket. Close and cook on high heat. As soon as the valve turns reduce the heat and let cook for 5 minutes.

To know it an asparagus is cooked, take one delicately with a fork. If the asparagus bends it is cooked.

They are usually served still warm as the main dish. 1 kilogram of raw asparagus will serve 4 people.

They can also be eaten raw, although it is less common. Just rinse it well in warm water to remove any sand and serve cold with a dip.

Some people like them peeled, especially the base. They do not have to be but if you do peel them be careful to not spoil the tender ends.

When it is the asparagus season, people like to eat them in place of the all meal with some white wine. They can also be combined with other foods for a main dish or serve as a soup or an apetizer.

Peak season

The asparagus' season is short. You can find fresh asparagus in markets from April to June. They are usually a bit expensive because they have to be harvested by hand.

Asparagus spears should be straight, firm and green for most of their length. The larger ones are not necessary the better. They might be hard and stringy. Choose those with a diameter of 1 cm.

Their ends should be compact and pointed.

Asparagus are usually sold in bundles. Be sure that they have all the same diameter so you can cook them all together.

Storage

Asparagus does not keep well. They have to be eaten the days that follow the harvest. If not eaten the same day, they must be stored in a cold place, their ends wrapped in a damp paper towel, then placed in a plastic bag.

Health Benefits - http://www.juicing-for-health.com/asparagus.html

Asparagus has an abundance of an amino acid called asparagine, that helps to cleanse the body of waste material. As a result, some people pass out smelly urine after eating asparagus. Don't worry if this happens to you. Just be glad that your kidney is functioning as it should.

Asparagus is one of the few vegetables that is highly dense in healthful nutrients that help many ailments.

Acidity, Blood: The high alkalinity of this wonder juice is effective in reducing the acidity of the blood and helps cleanses the tissues and muscles of waste.

Arthritis and Rheumatism: A unique phytochemical in asparagus that produces anti-inflammatory effect helps relieve arthritis and rheumatism.

Bowel movement: Consume asparagus regularly for its mild laxative effect and dietary fiber that provides for regular bowel movement.

Cancer: Asparagus is a prime source of anti-oxidant and glutathione that can help prevent the dreaded cancer.

Cataracts: The anti-oxidant and glutathione in asparagus prevents the progression of cataracts and other eye problems.

Diabetes/Hypoglycemia: The healthful minerals in asparagus juice make it an important diet for people who are controlling their blood sugar levels. However, it is not to be taken by people with advanced kidney diseases.

Diuretic: Asparagus is a wonderfully diuretic vegetable and its efficacy is more pronounced when it is taken in juice form.

Heart disease: Drink a small amount of asparagus juice mixed with raw honey three times a day daily to strengthen a weak or enlarged heart.

Kidney: The diuretic and alkaline properties of asparagus help prevent or dissolve kidney stones. It helps break up oxalic acid crystals formed in the kidney.

PMS symptoms: The diuretic effect of asparagus juice helps relieve premenstrual swelling and bloating. The magnesium in this wonder juice also help relieve irritability, fatigue, depression, etc.

Pregnant women: The high content of folic acid, calcium and other minerals in asparagus are important in reducing the risk of birth defects and low birth weight. The diuretic effect of the juice is also a big help in reducing water retention in pregnant women.

Re: Asparagus Cures Cancer?

A little contradiction in some of these articles regarding arthritis:

Asparagus is native to Eurasia and was regarded as a delicacy by the Romans. The most renowned type of asparagus is the Argenteuil asparagus which is cultivated in France.

French asparagus can be peeled and cooked, and served together with a creamy mayonnaise-type sauce, or it can be used on Pizzas.

Asparagus root contains compounds called steroidal glycosides, which may help reduce inflammation. In fact, some Chinese herbalists have used it to treat arthritis.

Asparagus also contains useful amounts of calcium, magnesium and iodine and is an excellent source of folic acid. Moreover, vitamins A, C and E are also well supplied. Just one-half cup of cooked asparagus provides about 25 percent of the RDA for folic acid and more than 80 percent of the RDA for vitamin C.

Asparagus stalks should be green with compact, closed tips and tender. Avoid flat stalks or stalks that have a lot of white in them. Do not buy asparagus if they are soaking in water. Asparagus toughen rapidly, and should be used soon after purchase.

The best time of year to purchase asparagus is March to June.

Refrigeration will help retain the B and C vitamins, but wrap the ends in moist paper towel, then seal in a plastic bag.

* White asparagus is planted under mounds of soil, blocking sunlight and reducing the plans ability to produce chlorophyll.
* If ridges form on stems of asparagus, this is a sign of age and soaking in ice water will help revive it.
* The water that vegetables are cooked in will be high in vitamins and minerals. Use for soups and stews.
* To revive limp asparagus, try placing them in a tall pot with ice water in the refrigerator for thirty minutes.
* Always open asparagus cans from the bottom or you may break the tips. However, read the can carefully as they may be canned upside down.
* To tenderize the asparagus stalks, try peeling the stalks with a potato peeler up to the bottom of the tips.
* Asparagus contains a sulphur compound that may cause a strange odor in a person's urine. This happens in approximately 40 percent of the population and is harmless.

Re: Asparagus Cures Cancer?

I wonder what they mean by: "Asparagus root"? Is that the
white part (the root) that is "cut away"?

I wonder if there are "different parts" to Asparagus that
have different benefits? Eat the roots for anti-inflamation,
eat the stalk for antioxidant properties?

Is Asparagus vegetable, fruit, or neither?

I have eaten both green and white asparagus, and the
white is sweeter tasting, but I wonder if the absence
of chlorophyll changes the benefits properties since it
is not naturally grown?

Thanks for posting this!

Oral magnesium chloride (as able-bodied as magnesium oxide) is a able laxative. So it's appropriate to adopt beneath laxative forms of articulate magnesium like magnesium malate or magnesium citrate.

Another article about cancer being a fungus from _winningcancer.com, it is an interesting discussion:

_winningcancer.com (or_http://publications.imva.info)

Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) Cancer Treatment

Sodium Bicarbonate ( Baking Soda )

We can thank Dr. Ralph Moss for bringing to our attention that for more than a decade there has been work going on at the University of Arizona, using bicarbonate (baking soda) as a potential treatment for cancer. Robert J. Gillies and his colleagues have demonstrated that pre-treatment of mice with sodium bicarbonate results in the alkalinization of the area around tumors. (Raghunand 2003) This type of treatment has been found to "enhance the anti-tumor activity" of other anticancer drugs. This is very similar to the recently published research of injecting O2 directly into tumors where such direct administration of Oxygen also facilitated the action of chemotherapy.

This year these same researchers reported that bicarbonate increases tumor pH (i.e., make it more alkaline) and also inhibits spontaneous metastases (Robey 2009). They showed that oral sodium bicarbonate increased the pH of tumors and also reduced the formation of spontaneous metastases in mice with breast cancer. It also reduced the rate of lymph node involvement.

Though Dr. Moss is no fan of Dr. Simoncini he found it striking that the oral administration of bicarbonate was able to reduce the spontaneous formation of metastases in mice with breast cancer saying, “This is impressive work that needs to go forward.” This is in contrast to what you will find referenced below1 as to his and his staffs feelings about the good doctor from Rome. Sodium bicarbonate has been used for decades in chemotherapy but until the last few years baking soda has received little attention. Now as Moss maintains there are fifty thousand web sites with information on the subject.

It is dismaying how ostensibly Dr. Moss and others treat Dr. Simoncini and his theories. One of the obstacles for many people is Dr. Simoncini’s declaration that cancer is a fungus. There is little dispute that cancer is an ACID condition or can be measured in terms of tumor pH. Previous research has found that cancers are significantly more acidic than normal tissues and that manipulation of pH with intravenous bicarbonate enhances some chemotherapy Acidic tissues are low in oxygen. When alkalinity increases the supply of oxygen to the cancerous tissue, the oxygen combines with the excessive hydrogen ions, creating water and neutralizing the acid.

Bicarbonate is the universal mainstream treatment of acidosis and is used by oncologists to neutralize the heavy acid nature of their chemo agents, which are quite dangerous to the patient. It is also used routinely in many clinical situations:

1) Severe diabetic ketoacidosis2
2) Cardiopulmonary resuscitation3
3) Pregnancy4
4) Hemodialysis5
5) Peritoneal dialysis6
6) Pharmacological toxicosis7
7) Hepatopathy8
8) Vascular surgery operations9

Medics and doctors are used to participating in a flurry of activity when trying to save a person who's had a cardiac arrest -- inserting IVs, placing a breathing tube, performing defibrillation to restart the heart. Sodium bicarbonate is a constant performer under such conditions and is more commonly used then magnesium injections, which should be on top of every doctor’s protocol for cardiac arrest.

We can certify bicarbonate’s usefulness for cancer patients from a number of different angles without pinning all our hopes on the fungus thesis. When doctors like Moss tear down the “cancer is a fungus” theory they conveniently forget to inform their readers that even mainstream oncologists recognize the routine involvement of late stage infections in cancer and that experts concede that as high as forty percent of cancers are caused by pathogens.10 The most recent research in this area demonstrates how even viruses can be responsible for up to fifty percent of certain types of cancers.11

I have written several chapters on the subject of fungus and late stage infections in my Sodium Bicarbonate – Rich Man’s Poor Man’s Cancer Treatment book and it is obvious that there is no simple definition of cancer. But……this is probably the biggest but in the medical world; we can in fact reduce cancer to an image level. One has to admit that cancer is a rot that is destroying the body and will kill it left unchecked. When the body is rotting, when its cells are demonstrating dire distress, when certain colonies of cells reproduce without stop and change their type of metabolism we have a certain condition that takes shape and form depending on where the cancer is and what is causing it.

No matter where we would like to drop our concepts and numerous names for different kinds of cancer it should be obvious that - like any type of rot - pathogens will be attracted and in late stages the fungi colonies will rule the roost. Whether cause, effect or byproduct of the fungi, mold and yeasts like Candida will be found in evidence. Dr. Simoncini intelligently observed that, "Over acidification of the body leads to the development of chronic yeast and fungal infections and ultimately cancer.”

Cancer is, fundamentally, a relatively simple oxygen
deficiency disease and the use of bicarbonate
increases oxygen carrying and reaching capacity.

It is dull though, not to include even deeper definitions of cancer. If someone wants to say cancer is a fungus he might as well say cancer is a nutritional deficiency and relative state of poisoning. One is not likely to fall to cancer if one’s body is humming in a heightened state of nutritional sufficiency and that includes full hydration and plenty of healthy sun exposure. Add plenty of restful sleep, relaxed conflict free existence and a pristine environment (something that does not exist anymore on our planet sadly) then we can start talking about health. One must include freedom from dental amalgam, fluoride, chlorine and vaccines to talk about health and a cancer free existence.

Cancer is not so easy to define because it defines
modern man. Humanity is in deep trouble with cancer
for we are in deep trouble with ourselves and our civilization.

There are no real medical precedents to draw on when it comes to the use of sodium bicarbonate; it is that useful, safe and effective for a wide range of illnesses. But it seems that much of the medical debate over its use has more to do with illogical thought processes than reality, that is at least what sociologists are finding or saying in the public debate about universal health care. People often work backward from a firm conclusion to find supporting facts, rather than letting evidence inform their views.

A totally rational person would lay out - and evaluate objectively - the pros and cons of sodium bicarbonate and its use in cancer treatment but even the best professionals get attached to their beliefs. We form emotional attachments that get wrapped up in our personal identity and sense of medicine and health irrespective of the facts of the matter making our theories more potent than pragmatic answers.

Just about everybody is vulnerable to the phenomenon of holding onto our beliefs even in the face of evidence to the contrary. It is a challenge to reevaluate world views and medical belief systems but we have to do it to continue to be of service to our patients. Patients depend on us to offer the latest and the best information. Our egos do get in the way though, and some doctors are known for their great egos.

No matter what your ego says, the world of fungi and all the problems they bring are important in medicine and only irresponsible practitioners will ignore them. Sodium bicarbonate’s action dramatically changes the intracellular environment and this is wonderful when conditions are acidic.

Its action is, for all intent and purpose, instant and as a cancer treatment one course runs about two weeks. Some people are able to kick cancer off their back in one round though we can well see that for many it will be several rounds or constant rounds and of course maintenance rounds. In the end bicarbonate is not a healthy alternative or substitute for a alkaline diet and good alkaline water.

Sodium bicarbonate - that simple white stuff called baking soda we can buy in any supermarket in the world is a world class anti-fungal. You want to punch a late stage infection of any kind in the face use bicarbonate. You want to wipe out fungal, yeast or mold colonies baking soda is your number one bet and every good doctor knows this. If we are not good we can make ourselves good fungi fighters with bicarbonate in our hand and that is exactly what Dr. Simoncini does with the stuff. He uses it like a fire extinguisher spraying tumors as well as he can with it as directly as he can, though when used orally and transdermally it reaches cancers in all parts of the body through systemic effect.

Traditional anti-fungal drugs are ineffective in treating tumors because the solid colonies can be attacked only on the surface of their volume, and after the first administrations they become resistant. A solid tumor with fungal infection is powerful and they resist attack and adapt quite readily to pharmaceutical drugs. After all fungi love to chew on rocks and they eat mercury for breakfast so you got to hit them correctly in a all out frontal attack with sodium bicarbonate.

Dr. Simoncini is the medical genius who has identified the substances uniquely able to penetrate these volumetric tumors: for cancer of the internal organs it is sodium bicarbonate; and the best substance to eliminate skin cancer is iodine when it is spread onto the growth. Other doctors use iodine internally in high doses and this does have the same effect on internal cancers. Combine with bicarbonate and we have two panzer divisions we are letting loose to mop up cancer no matter where we find it in the body.

Bicarbonate, when used in conjunction with other equally safe substances, can form the basis for a natural chemotherapy, which will prove itself in the end compared to vastly more toxic interventions. Everyone knows in their gut the horrors that await those who travel down the chemo, surgery and radiation roads. Why travel down these pits to hell when safer, vastly more inexpensive, natural and potentially highly effective answers like sodium bicarbonate are there on the supermarket shelves for the taking?

Special Note: I have been recommending Bob’s Red Mill sodium bicarbonate for it is fine and advertises that it is aluminum free. But I have confirmed that Arm and Hammers is also aluminum free and it is amazing how inexpensive it is and Codex has no plans that I know of to remove it from supermarket shelves. Can you imagine having to get a doctors prescription for baking soda?

Special Recommendation: We recommend sodium bicarbonate use for anyone undergoing cardiac angiography, CT (computed tomography) or MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) to protect their kidneys. Medical imaging has soared over the last few years across all types of these tests. Doctors have long known exposure to contrast agents can cause damage in seemingly healthy kidneys. The Clinical Journal of the American Society Nephrology warns that kidney damage injury can arise after undergoing certain common medical imaging procedures is a serious health threat.

A meta-analysis of 17 randomised controlled trials has shown that
pre-procedural treatment with sodium bicarbonate based hydration
is the best strategy to prevent contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN).12

Many medical imaging techniques, including cardiac angiography and CT scans, often involve the use of contrast agents, substances that contain iopamidol, iodixanol and barium with their own toxic downside. Dr. Solomon found that 31 percent of the research subjects experienced negative health effects after their imaging test. Overall 13 percent of the patients experienced a major event, such as death, stroke, heart attack, or end-stage renal disease. Those who developed contrast-induced kidney injuries had twice as many long-term negative health effects compared with patients who didn't suffer kidney damage. No doubt much of this harm can be avoided if sodium bicarbonate is used appropriately.

The below statements by Louise Lubetkin, the Research Director of The Moss Reports, were bought to my attention in November of 2007.
"Dr. Simoncini is a charlatan who is currently the subject of a serious lawsuit in Italy. Dr. Moss investigated this matter through his many colleagues and friends in the medical field in Italy earlier this year and discovered that there is no plausible basis for the claims that Simoncini has made."
I responded back with:
Interestingly I just started reading Complementary Oncology by Dr. Moss. I am going to make these comments of yours public and I would like you and your organization to publicly substantiate your statements. Are you just trying to smear another doctor or are you throwing out sodium bicarbonate as a incredibly useful emergency medicine? This is not clear. Bicarbonate is used in emergency rooms and intensive care wards around the globe so not sure what your beef is with a doctor who champions its use. I sent my research assistant recently to meet him and I know of several doctors who have done the same and they all report good things about both him and his work.
I am a very sensitive to how people project themselves and the way you have communicated your organization it is you who seem to be what is disturbing you about Dr. Simoncini...meaning you seem to be the charlatans and it might be you who have a law suit aimed at your statements. It really is hard for me to believe someone from Dr. Moss's organization would communicate in the way you did.

Louise's responses to the above letter are again in red (in quotes), my comments are in blue.

"I am reliably informed that Mr. Simoncini has been erased from the Medical Register in his native country and is no longer permitted to practice medicine."

Yes I am well aware of this and what does this have to do with the price of beans? Medical truth and medical science happens to be independent of medical politics or medical law. For many doctors that I know this above fact would position Dr. Simoncini in a strong not weak position and you insult him further by calling him Mr. They can take away his license to practice medicine but they cannot undo his education and the respect due him and the fact that he is a doctor and has been and will be until he dies.

"I am also not aware of any evidence whatever that cancer is caused by a fungus, which is the fundamental tenet underpinning Simoncini's assertions."

I think you got it slightly wrong, he indicates cancer is a fungus not that it is caused by it. What causes cancer is diverse, many things have been scientifically shown to cause cancer or cause the conditions in which late state infections (cancer) invite yeast and fungi to form colonies that attach to sickly human cells...which are themselves one of the causes of cancer...as are heavy metals, pesticides, fluoride and on and on.....then of course we have the nutritional deficiencies that set the entire stage. Don't you know anything about cancer? We even have people who define people as multidimensional human beings meaning that sometimes or even often emotional trauma and shock or never ending stress and conflict disrupt the immune system severely weakening its ability to clear cancers from the system.

"While bicarbonate is undoubtedly a useful and legitimate instrument of therapeutic good in certain specific situations, it is not and never has been shown to be an effective approach to cancer, Simoncini's assertions notwithstanding."

Well it is clear you are biased because you will not even accept his word for his own life's work. Everyone I know who has listened to the man in person has respect for him. Your obvious disrespect has earned the Moss Organization distrust in my eyes. Dr. Simoncini has clearly shown to many that sodium bicarbonate has to be on that protocol list and medical science supports him. As you yourself say, "Of course sodium bicarbonate is a very useful and medically proven remedy for all manner of accidents, injuries and circumstances." That word circumstances though hides quite a bit

"You can read about the case that led to the conviction for fraud and manslaughter, as well as the revocation of Simoncini’s medical license here:"

Did not help much that it was in Italian but again here you show your undignified bias but let's say for a moment that I agree with you. If every oncologist was put to the same litmus test they would all be on death's row for they would have all been convicted for multiple homicides for the vast majority of oncologists patients die on them. Mass murderers it looks like you would condemn them to be and I have to agree with you here. Dr. Moss himself says, "Real improvements in overall survival for the solid tumors of adults are rarely demonstrated in rigorous trials with chemotherapy." So could you please tell me if that inclines you and Dr. Moss to judge and condemn all orthodox oncologists as you do Dr. Simoncini?

What I can't believe is Moss' organization is not even appearing
willing to take a critical look at the evidence supporting the
fact that cancer can be a fungus. They just dismiss it outright.

In the judgment against Dr. Simoncini he was admonished to not abandon recognized therapies and that he should not suggest that bicarbonate could offer patients good results without providing documentation and publications recognized by the international scientific community. Unfortunately the international medical and scientific communities in the cancer area are the last people we can trust with our or our loved ones lives when it comes to cancer.

Dr. Dannennberg made the remarks in a speech in December 2007 at the annual international conference of the American Association for Cancer Research.1 And if omitting infections as a cause of cancer is not bad enough nowhere in Watson’s article do we see mention of:

Re: Cancer is really a Fungus

Thank you for posting the article. I wasn't able to find that exact one on the site. Is it from one of the e-books?
