NEW YORK (VINnews) — A Russian plane travelling from Yekaterinburg to the southern city of Krasnodar was forced to make an emergency landing after being buffeted by severe turbulence as well as being hit by lightning. A short video captured the terrifying experience of the 175 passengers aboard the Boeing 737-800 as it went into free-fall while approaching the Black Sea resort of Sochi, according to a Daily Mail report.

Seven horses killed by lightning strike in Maarheeze

Seven horses were killed by a lighting strike in Maarheze on Wednesday afternoon. According to vet Carolien van der Ploeg, the lightning likely struck an electric fence near which the horses were at the time, BN De Stem reports (in Dutch).

The owner of Paardenrusthuis Ogier, a kind of retirement home where old horses spend their last years, happened to be in the pasture when it happened. The weather suddenly turned bad at around 2:00 p.m., he said to the newspaper. The horses, some 26 in total, gathered together and walked into the meadow. "Horses usually stand with their behinds against the wind so that their heads don't get wet," the owner explained.

After a while, the horses came back. Not together, but scattered. "I thought that was strange. As they came closer, I saw in the distance piles on the ground. Bad news, I thought immediately." He drove closer on his tractor and saw the seven dead horses, side by side on the ground.

"They definitely died from lightning strike. The burns and discolorations under the tail confirm this," vet Van der Ploeg said to the newspaper. This happens from time to time, but mostly only to individual animals. That says something about the size of the lightning strike, Van der Ploeg said. "The storm was so violent. I think they died in one fell swoop, that the horses suffered no pain. A little bit of luck in an accident, if you ask me."

Ljubljana, Slovenian capital, was basically flooded yesterday night (29/09/2021).
Apparently, 88 L per m2 fell in just few hours (once in 250 years event according to some calculations), or at some locations more than 2 months amount of rain.

Speaking of sheets of rain...

Cyclone Shaheen was on track Saturday to become the first tropical cyclone in modern recordkeeping to strike the northern coast of Oman, perhaps even moving into the United Arab Emirates before it dissipates. Destructive flash flooding, storm surge, and high winds are all possible. The Oman government declared a two-day national holiday for Monday and Tuesday to allow people to prepare for the storm.

As the pictures were essentially taken around Paris (West), it could be well due to the "Octobre Rose 2021" (Pink October 2021) and the Eiffel Tower that was lit up in pink (Source in French):
October 2021 will be marked by the 28th Pink October campaign. A symbolic month where various events will be organised to raise awareness about breast cancer screening.

Hereafter a video:

It starts with a firework at 17:30 in the video, and at 21:42 for the lit up Eiffel Tower.

I think that the mystery is solved.

Edit: Timing details about the video.

Cyclone Shaheen approaches Oman, flights delayed; child killed

Tropical Cyclone Shaheen bore down on Oman on Sunday, prompting authorities to delay flights to and from the capital, Muscat, and to urge residents to evacuate coastal areas. A child who had been swept away by water was found dead, the state news agency said, and another person was missing.
The eye of the storm was about 60 km (40 miles) from Muscat and it was carrying top winds of 120 kph (75 mph) or more, a joint statement by the country's hazard, weather and civil aviation agencies said. The storm's centre was expected to hit land during the late afternoon and evening, bringing very high winds and heavy rainfall, but the outer bands of the system were already being felt.
The national emergency committee said the power supply would be cut in al-Qurm, east of the capital, to avoid accidents. More than 2,700 people were put up in emergency shelters. (Reuters)
