Daily Nicotine Requirements according to blood type

Unfortunately, I do not know my blood type.

I also have some problems coughing and there are two things I found to be helpful which not only reduce coughing but makes it a lot less heavier.
No carbs is the first thing.
Whenever I have a little bit of carbs, even a pickle, the next day I can feel it in terms of mental clarity and coughing, among other things (general overall feeling, e.g.).

Second thing I noticed seems to be sleep related, the book Lights Out discussed in this thread might be helpful to read.

As long as we get enough sleep in the dark - at least 9.5 hours during winter - we let our immune system work things out like that, at least that's what I've experienced.

As for blood types, we have to consider that about 45% of the population according to Wikipedia is type "O" (both +/-). So when calculating proportions, we have to consider it. These are statistics, it's not so hard. Just maths.

And regarding the long-terms effects, we shall not forget that most brands contain various additives in the tobacco and in the paper which is the real problem to put it in simple terms. Pure organic tobacco for someone who's genetic profile requires nicotine dosen't seem to generate any form of problem whatsoever for those who have experienced it, or so it seems.

Throught history, tobacco has been widely used by tribes and more recently philosophers. They didn't do this just "to look cool" nor did they smoke brands that had additives in them. Truth is that it helped them stimulating their minds and the genetic profile kept it in memory if I may say so through the ages.

Nowdays, tobacco industries know it but by adding crap in them, they create problems which gave birth to anti-smoking campains which help pharmaceutical companies to generate billions of dollars while depriving more and more people from their [required] nicotine doses. Unbalances our frequency and makes us "tastier" for some if you get my drift. While still making them companies generate money from tobacco itself. If it's good, just make it bad and good at the same time so you get many times more money, control and power etc.

My thoughts.

Peace.

I cough fairly often as well, and with mucus fairly often too. I'm wondering if I'm breathing in dust/ash when smoking the pipe (perhaps how I'm smoking?) because of black stuff in the mucus (sorry to be graphic). I've decided to not smoke for 3 days (starting yesterday) to see how I am when not smoking and how it affects my coughing and overall well-being.

Since I've been smoking Kentucky Select Organic and since it's cured with fructose-laden Agave syrup, I'm also wondering if it's the agave that's causing the coughing, so I'm going to try smoking a different tobacco variant instead of the KSO when I resume.

Do somebody know any other organic tobacco other than the Kentucky and American Spirit? Been trying too KSO, but would like more options.

Also A+
Been smoking for 2 weeks, haven't had any coughing, only very intense dizzynness that last for 15 mins, everytime I smoke.
About 2 or 3 cigarrettes per day.

BTW do somebody know the proper way to smoke, particularly, whether the smoke of the cigarrette should be inhaled all way down to the lungs or retained in the mouth?
I hold it in the mouth and then exhale with the nose, to get some smoke to the brain (?)
Any advise is appreciated.

Hi Nuke I think that is important to know your blood type in case of emergency to give or receive blood transfusions.

If you are feeling dizziness is because the nicotine is getting your brain. the only way that the nicotine get fast to the brain and all the organism is through the blood that comes from the lungs so if you retain the smoke in the mouth and don't pass it to the lungs you are only receive the nicotine that diffuses through the oral mucose and that is a ineffective way.

Hey! I'm also A+ and am just about to begin a more serious trial-run with smoking tobacco! It was great to read your post about a few beginning effects you've noticed. I'd ask a few other questions on how it is going for you, but I don't want to risk hi-jacking the thread. Maybe someone knows of or we could start a thread for those who are just beginning to smoke to share their experience as they go, and anyone considering starting up could read about the others' experiences? Sorry, just thinking out loud

I agree. Very little nicotine is likely to get into your system unless the smoke (which contains the nicotine) passes into your lungs.
As I understand, most of the main methods are as follows:

--Direct, full inhalations from the cigarette or pipe. Basically a variable-length solid draw only through the cigarette, after which a partial or full inhale continues smoothly with clean air. All is one breath in, no stops. This is easily exampled looking at any experienced smoker.
--Air/Smoke Mix Inhale. Don't know quite else how to put it at the moment, heh. You hold the cigarette to your mouth, but also leave a hole for clean air to enter your mouth with the same breath for the cigarette. Depending on how big a hole for clean air, you can control how much smoke and how much air you get. Again all in one breath generally, with either a 'draw' and 'clean air' stages as in a full, direct inhale, or you can inhale smoke/air mix the whole time.
--Puffs. You can take shorter bursts of smoke or smoke/air mix with clean air in between. Can be one smooth breath or pauses and then continue (in you get too much smoke, for instance).

This is just kind of what I've figured out so far. Perhaps another more experienced smoker could offer more input here as needed for the asker/anyone else.

"Real" pipe and cigar tobacco gives an alkaline smoke, which means that unlike tobacco smoke in general, it will "eat its way" through the mucus membrane and keep the nicotine in a bioavailable form for absorption through the mouth. This (the alkaline part) is how oral tobacco works as well.

For tobacco that has not been treated to be alkaline, inhaling is indeed necessary. Even for alkaline tobacco, inhaling will however increase nicotine absorption - though most smokers of such tobacco generally just hold the smoke in the mouth.

Thank you Galaxia2002 for reminding me. I have made attempts a few years ago, last one being an occasion when I had a few blood tests done but the doctor didn't seem to care about the reasons you mentioned. And I've also told them that no one in my family knows and it's not in any of my previous medical records, so this would be the only way to know, to do a new blood test.

Will try again though if - for some reason - I need to go see a doctor again.

I smoke100% Organic American Spirit-Roll-Your-Own Tobacco. When I`m working, I`ll wait till the end of my work day to have a cig. When I`m not working, I love to smoke. On the weekends there is nothing better than a cig and a cup of tea to start the day!
I bought a woman`s slender smoking pipe. (I`m laughing to myself). I`m waiting for it to arrive in the mail. So I`m thinking cig tobacco (organic) and a little organic herbal blend(actual herb mix from Health food store) to cut it and not be so harsh. Any thoughts on the pipe tobacco? I want to smoke only organic tobacco. :cool2: ;D

Thank you! I hadn't known that. Very interesting!

Pipes seem to be a good way to go. You can get American Spirit as well as other organic brands in loose pouches or packs. If nothing else, you wouldn't have to worry about the FSC chemical-laden papers! Maybe even get some kind of natural wick or lighter of some kind to avoid any possible nasties from butane lighters as well. Hooray for chemical-free smoking!

Also- congrats on your new pipe! I hope you enjoy it. Beware, however! As another posted in a different thread "The problem with pipe smoking is that it leads to a disease called PAD (Pipe Acquisition Disorder). [...] Symptoms include cruising Ebay for estate pipes and ordering more than you really need."

I've smoked a pipe and used only 100% American Spirit. All the pipe tobaccos have been cured with sugars and fruit juices, which American Spirit personnel have told me their's is not cured with any sweeteners. That may not make a difference to you, though.

All tobacco has sugar in it to different degrees even if they don't add it. During the curing (drying) process the starches in the leaf are converted to sugar, making the smoke much less harsh. And the predominant variety in American Spirit, Virginia Flue Cured, has by far the highest sugar content due to the flue curing process which is designed to convert more starches to sugar.

There is no need to see a doctor to find out your blood type. Just google "blood typing kit" and several pop up for around $10. I didn't know mine either, till I did it myself at home. I also did it for my kids.

You can likely find the kits in stores in your area, Nuke. Just search and you will find. :)

It is an interesting thread.

I have smoked 3 years, mostly 1-3 times a day. I am rolling Kentacky organic select, and I find it is less harsh than American Spirits.
Usually I enjoy smoking after a lunch time at work as it is a perfect getaway for fresh air and relaxation - away from computers.

I do think it helps with my mental acuity and I do enjoy it but there are some things I don't like, such as the taste in my mouth afterwards and the smell on my hands etc.

Me neither, I do not like the smell afterwards. After smoking, I usually wash my hands, brush my teeth, put some creams on hands and pop a xylitol mint in my mouth - so the smell is less noticeable for my coworkers.

I have not tried a pipe yet. I cannot wait to try one day.

The nice thing about pipes is you don't get that smell on your hands.
