Hi Bo,

Apologies if I'm stating the obvious here. The two things I can think of are 1) get the area as clean as possible removing any food particles that might be breaking down and getting into the cavity (if there is an obvious one) and 2) don't chew on the side the pain is on. Another thing is that they do make temporary fillings. I'm not sure if you've heard of them or if they are accessible to you, and the product may contain evil. It's something a person might be able to get from a pharmacy or nutrition store. If you need more info I have to wait for my wife to wake up. You just take a tiny amount out of a VERY small hexagon/round plastic container, about the size of one of those small dental floss containers(?). Then you put it over the hole (if you have one). It at least stops particles from getting into it.

Hope this helps.

the tooth where the pain is coming from is already filled. she said that she couldn't see what was going on with my tooth due to the fillings, she hit it with the backside of like a spoon or something and it hurt like crazy then she said it must be an inflamed tooth rooth, but she can only be sure after she has made some pictures.

thanks for the advice!

Until you can get to the dentist, you might try tea tree oil if you have access to it. Tea tree oil has antiseptic and analgesic properties. Another alternative is clove oil (it tastes nasty but it does provide pain relief properties). I'd use a cotton swab to apply both oils.

Not to alarm you, but toothaches can also be indicators of other problems such as sinus/ear infections, or heart problems as well (heart attack or angina). I'd also recommend eating soups or other liquid type foods that won't add to the inflammation that chewing can do.

Hope you feel better soon - nothing quite as bad as tooth pain.

Re: Inflamed/infected tooth rooth

Oh Im afraid that root canal inflamation cant just be treated wits some other way than cleaning and fill . If there is edema then I guess they give antibiotic until the edema is gone so that they can treat it. If there is fistula exististing then the inflamation content can go out but if not it stays there and increase.
Is it close to sinus cavity? which tooth it is?
The tooth canal treatment if you can receive anesteshia is not agressive or paintfull at all, but if you keep it for long maybe can cause some more damage, other inflamation , bone problem etc.

I am not dentist but had same situation trying to solve and postponed with some other ways, but...

Re: Inflamed/infected tooth rooth

If the rooth is filled that mean that maybe is not the root it is a "pocket" like thy say between the tooth and gingiva , maybe it can be cleaned.
And other thing which might be is that during the root treatment they sometimes cant slean those micro canals and that one of those canals can inflame.
I had apicotomy at the end when they approach surgicaly to root top and try to check and clean ans sometimes cut the top of root if its too long.

Should I gargle with the tea tree oil? ill check if i can buy it somewhere tomorrow and i almost had a sinus infection a few days ago but i destroyed it with my army of vit c's before it could damage anything.

Thanks!

You should be able to find it at a health food store. Yes, you can gargle with it, but swish gently and use tepid water. :) I would apply it to the tooth with a cotton swab as well. You can also brush your tongue with tea tea oil (it aids in destroying germs and will help keep the inflamed area a bit cleaner).

Remember, a few drops is all you need.

Re: Inflamed/infected tooth rooth

Hi Bo,

One of the things that worked for me is taking golden seal root powder and putting it in some gauze. Then dampen it with some fresh, clean water and place it on or by the tooth. Make sure that the gums are exposed to it. Taste nasty, but I have left it on for hours and it helped with the swelling and pain.

You may want to seek out another dentist. Waiting a week may not be such a good idea if you are in that much pain.

Feel better...

I enjoy this site, www.earthclinic.com when it comes to considering various strategies for health issues. Two links helpful for tooth infection/pain are, http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/oil_pulling13.html and http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/tooth_abcess.html.

Good luck!

The pain is MUCH LESS then it was yesterday, it's still very sensitive but less nerve striking, if their scan equipment isn't fixed by next week i will go to another dentist. \\thanks :)

and i will loot into the golden seal root powder.

Re: Inflamed/infected tooth rooth

Hi again Bo,

I asked Doctor mom (my wife) about it and she said if your just trying to make the pain tolerable for now, you could try a clove. It's a tiny stick with a small bulb on the end and you just stick it in the area where the pain is and let it get moist. I've used them before but couldn't remember the name of it. They help quite a bit, unless of course the pain is intolerable. If that's the case maybe there are clinics in your area?

Not sure what your personal life is like so far as having time but there are clinics here in the states that will take emergency appointments. You sometimes have to wait hours, but if it gets you on the other side of the situation it might be worth the wait.

Cloves really do help and can sometimes be found at a grocery store or health food store.

Re: Inflamed/infected tooth rooth

As a stopgap until you can get dental care, I have had great success with garlic. I press a clove or two into a shot (small) glass and add some warm water. Let sit a few moments and stir. Sip some and hold the garlic water in mouth around the tooth. Swallow. Repeat until all garlic water is gone and then I usually add some more water and swirl - then drink all down (including the bits) as garlic seems to work topically as well as internally to help fight infection. Do this a few times a day. I have cured abscesses in as little as 3 days with this technique.

I second this. I had some tooth pain a few months ago and was unable to find clove oil in the small coastal town I live in but just went to the spice section of the grocery store and picked up a container of clove buds. I put it on the tooth and gently chewed on it and boy it numbed it up quickly as my saliva mixed with the clove juice and got down in there.

Also I found this link to be very interesting. It is an article called "Do I Need a Root Canal" by Dr. Robert O'Nara:

I put an underscore before the web url because I am not sure if this is disinfo or not...

Hi guys,

Yesterday morning i woke up with a spontanous inflamed tooth rooth, it hit me from out of nowhere, the tooth ache was horrible that day, so i went to the dentist today and he told me that it was inflamed but he couldn´t take a picture of the tooth(their picture taking machine was broken) so he couldn't really advice anything, he told me to make an appointment next week and hopefully their tooth picture scanning machine would be fixed again.

At the moment I am taking lots of Vitamin C + probiotics and NAC +ALA 4/5 times a day, *hoping* that the inflamation will be gone, because I am afraid of a root canal treatment.

I can't use DMSO, because I am still waiting for the water distiller from Dr. Mercola(they are out of stock for quite some time, they said it would arrive somewhere around the end of this month)

What is interesting to note, is that yesterday when my tooth was spontanously inflamed, the wife of my uncle died of a heart attack the same day.

Any advice on what i could do more to fight this inflamation is welcome.

I forgot to mention that I put a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of hot water and drank that three times a day. It will alkalinize your entire body including your mouth which will help in killing the bacteria in there.

While drinking it, I would swish it around in my mouth firmly most especially on the side the tooth problem (kind of like the same way that you do with oil pulling). You really want to get whatever crud is in there out of there and that will swish it out.

Be sure to make the hot baking soda water in a non-metal cup and use a non-metal utensil to stir it so heavy metals do not end up in the drink. Follow it up with a plain glass of water since baking soda is basically salt and will dehydrate you. I also gargled with hydrogen peroxide. So between the clove, the baking soda water and hydrogen peroxide, within a few days I was back to normal (well normal as I can be ha!).

Edit: I forgot to mention that it may be a popcorn hull dug down deep in there. If you don't eat popcorn it could be some other kind of hull like flax or something stuck down in thar! Even when you floss sometimes a chip of it can be stuck down in there and get infected. I flossed vigorously along with the other stuff that I did so I think that is what my problem was.
