Do some French people see what's going on? Yellow Vest Protests

Macron is really pulling on straws - to find someone - to blame for his troubles?

UK’s government media are seeking to picture grassroots riots over France’s domestic problems as the Kremlin’s meddling is inadmissible, Russia’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

Russia’s foreign ministry plans to turn to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) over media reports about BBC’s seeking to find evidence of Russia’s involvement in the ongoing protests in France, ministry’s spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, said on Sunday.

A number of media outlets reported earlier that in her communication with a stringer covering riots in France a BBC correspondent tried to find evidence of Russia’s involvement in the Yellow Vests movement. Grassroots protests triggered by the growth of gasoline prices, taxes and the cost of living have been rocking France since November 17.

"We will ask this question to international structures. Tomorrow we will refer a corresponding letter to the OSCE to draw its attention to that," she said, adding that the actions of the BBC journalists are seen as an "absolutely appalling fact."

"It is the United Kingdom that keeps on saying that the Russian mass media, Russian television channels are indulging in propaganda but gives no facts to prove it, only saying that British public activists are filing complaints to Ofcom, a media regulator, and they have to react and reproach our mass media and journalists for alleged unprofessional behavior," Zakharova noted. "Now I have a question to these British media regulators: what do they think about this compilation of facts journalists of their tele and radio companies are indulging in?"

"Now it is not about double standards, it is not about politically motivated actions, it is about open propaganda. In this case, it is a flagrant compilation, an attempt to find puzzle pieces for a bigger picture. No doubt of that," she said. "Now we see how journalists of the BBC corporation work."

The Russian diplomat stressed that the fact that the UK’s government media are seeking to picture grassroots riots over France’s domestic problems as the Kremlin’s meddling is inadmissible in relations between allies. She drew attention to the fact that the United Kingdom is still a member of the European Union and shares a common foreign policy with other member nations. "How can they do such things in respect of their own neighbor?," she exclaimed.

"Lavish financing is now allocated in Brussels to counteract some mythic Russian propaganda. So, I think this colossal money, at least a part of it, must go to counteract, for instance, BBC’s propaganda," she added.

No evidence of Russia’s involvement in the protests that have been rocking France for a month has been found, Journal du Dimanche reported on Sunday citing a source in the French intelligence services.

"As of today, no evidence of their (Russia’s - TASS) involvement in the movement [of Yellow Vests] has been found," the source said, adding that these are only interim results of the probe.

The source (:troll: ) however said he ( ) is sure that Russia may support opposition forces and nationalists at the elections to the European Parliament next spring. But, again, nothing was said to substantiate these allegations.

France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said earlier that the country’s Secretariat-General for National Defence and Security is probing into media reports hinting that Russia demonstrated increased cyber activity in social networks in the period of street protests.

On Sunday, Russia’s foreign ministry expressed protest over media reports about BBC’s seeking to find evidence of Russia’s involvement in the ongoing protests in France. The ministry’s spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, said a complaint over the British media allegations will be referred to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

"We are a few generals willing to replace Macron"

On his Facebook account, General Didier Tauzin claims to be part of a group of officers ready to replace Emmanuel Macron.

This information, which has gone largely unnoticed, is revealed by General Didier Tauzin.

On his personal Facebook account, the retired officer posted a video on December 6 in which he addressed the President of the Republic:

"Politics is first and foremost about loving France and the French. ...] We are a few general officers who are quite willing to come and teach you how to play politics, or to replace you if you want to leave, which you will soon do.

General Tauzin was one of the thirteen officers who initiated a petition against France's signature in favour of the "Marrakech Pact". Another proof of the mistrust shown by the senior military hierarchy towards the political elite....

Representative for freedom of the media within the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the former president of SOS Racisme will receive 122.195 euros net per year, not taxable.

The reconversion was not difficult for the former Secretary of State for European Affairs François Hollande. He has just been appointed as the representative for media freedom in the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). As such, Harlem Désir will reach 122.195 euros net per year, according to the daily newspaper Opinion. Above all, this amount is subject to ... 0 euro tax.

"The leaders of the three OSCE Institutions (the head of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the representative for freedom of the media and the High Commissioner for National Minorities) have comparable rank and salary. to those of Under-Secretary General of the United Nations "explains the daily. The OSCE states that the use of a representative for media freedom is a "full-time." 106 times the tax-free SmIC, it had to be done.

Back in the summer this was the news,

Brigitte Macron keeps her golden locks looking good with the help of her husband’s official hairdresser, whose services to the presidential couple cost the French taxpayer a whopping €5,200 a month, a new report reveals.

The Court of Accounts provided the figure in its annual review of the Élysée budget, but the lavish spending on the couple’s hair and make-up has not caused the outcry it might have in Britain, where David Cameron’s outlay of £90 for a trim raised eyebrows when he was PM.

Instead French media focused on the fact that the first lady’s office cost the state €278,750 a year, lower than the annual €440,000 a year predicted by the government.

I am reposting the letter from another thread:

FRENCH GENERALS ACCUSE MACRON OF “TREASON” OVER UN MIGRATION PACT
Open letter says "French citizens have another reason to revolt"

writes Paul Craig Roberts: The Camp Of The Saints

A group of French military generals have written an open letter to Emmanuel Macron accusing the French President of committing “treason” by signing the UN migration pact.

The pact, which was signed by 164 nations on Monday, including France, is not legally binding but greases the skids for unlimited migration to be treated as a human right and criticism of mass migration to be treated as hate speech.

A letter written by General Antoine Martinez and signed by ten other generals, an admiral and a colonel, as well as former French Minister of Defense Charles Millon, warns Macron that the move strips France of more sovereignty and provides an additional reason for “an already battered people” to “revolt”.

Read the full letter from the French generals below (translated):

Mister President,
You are about to sign the “Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration” on 10 and 11 December, which establishes a genuine right to migration. It may impose itself on our national legislation through pre-existing treaties or the principle of common responsibility set out in this pact.

It seems to us that the only sovereignty that will remain with France will consist in freely setting the way in which the objectives of the pact will have to be implemented. You can not give up this new part of the national sovereignty without a public debate whereas 80% of the French population considers that it is necessary to stop or regulate drastically the immigration. By deciding alone to sign this pact, you would add an additional reason for revolt to the anger of an already battered people. You would be guilty of a denial of democracy or treason against the nation.

In addition, the finances of our country are drained and our debt is growing. You can not take the risk of an expensive call for air migration without first showing that you will not have to resort to more taxes to meet the objectives of the pact. On the other hand, you must be able, in terms of security, to curb the consequences linked to the arrival of extra-European populations. Finally, you can not ignore that the very essence of politics is to ensure security on the outside and harmony within. However, this concord can be obtained only if it maintains a certain internal coherence of the society alone capable of allowing to want to do together, which becomes more and more problematic today.

In fact, the French state is late in coming to realize the impossibility of integrating too many people, in addition to totally different cultures, who have regrouped in the last forty years in areas that no longer submit to the laws of the Republic.

You can not decide alone to erase our civilizational landmarks and deprive us of our carnal homeland.

We therefore ask you to defer the signing of this pact and call by referendum the French to vote on this document. You are accountable to the French of your actions. Your election is not a blank.

We support the initiative of General MARTINEZ against the signature of this pact which must be adopted by the Member States of the UN at the Intergovernmental Conference of Marrakesh.

There is some talk of arranging yellow vest protests in Adelaide, South Australia from a particular gentleman who has been involved with community advocacy and trying - sometimes succeeding - to establish markets for the benefit of food growers and clients wanting fresh produce with plenty of resistance from local governments. This gentleman also had a failed attempt at running for a position on his local council recently. Perhaps there are others around this country thinking the same thing.

This is a big and well hidden problem in the EU. Some are speculating that these outbreaks of swine flue in the East and EXTREMELY restrictive regulations imposed by EU on farmers to raise live stock is aimed at putting them out of business so that large businesses can take over this market. This problem has surfaced already in France.

One of the worst infectious diseases for pigs, African swine fever, has been present in the region of the EU's Eastern border since 2014. To control the disease and avoid new outbreaks, strict sanitary restrictions have been put in place at European level. The Polish authorities introduced further requirements in areas most at risk.

The Commission's decision is specifically aimed at Polish pig farmers who own no more than 50 pigs and/or piglets (between 1 July 2016 and 30 June 2017) and are situated in areas at high risk of African swine fever. Because of their limited size and means, some of these small farmers might find themselves unable to implement the new Polish requirements and would therefore be forced to stop pigmeat production.
farmer
Once they are out of business that is it. Debt they hold will just run them into the ground as being a farmer is living on an edge. The weather and the Market decide how much you will make AFTER you have ALREADY put money INTO the business. So in the case of pigs, once killed off the compensation will not allow the get back to where one has started. Same goes for people specializing in fruit, grain etc. production. Small farmer in the EU is being attacked by the big business agents in Brussels.

French construction company Vinci SA warned France’s Yellow Vests protests will cost “tens of millions euros” after demonstrators damaged highway infrastructure in the latest sign of the movement battering the economy.
  • Protesters have burned Vinci buildings and vehicles, and left trash at temporary camp sites near highway interchanges, Vinci Autoroutes said in a statement. The damage at about 250 sites will be covered by insurance, the state and the company.
Key Takeaways
  • The protests initially targeted a hike in fuel tax but have escalated into violent demonstrations demanding more public services and economic equality. Wearing high-visibility vests, protesters in Paris last week torched cars and damage to shops, restaurants and property.
  • The movement has already hurt the French economy. The country’s private sector contracted in December for the first time during Emmanuel Macron’s presidency. The Bank of France has cut its growth forecasts for this year and next.
  • Macron last week announced a package to boost the minimum wage, scrap taxes on overtime and raise pensions. His concessions might have dented the campaign’s momentum: This weekend’s protests drew around half the number of last week’s.
  • Bank of France has said the response measures could boost economic growth in 2019, after it trimmed its growth forecast for this year and next.
What coincidence. Hmm?

Eurovia has finalized an agreement with the Salini Impregilo Group to acquire the Plants and Paving division of its subsidiary Lane Construction.

France’s Far Right Sees Gold in Yellow-Vest Movement
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/16/world/europe/france-national-front-yellow-vests.html

Operating in 10 eastern seaboard states and in Texas, the division employs about 2,000 people and generates annual revenue of more than $600 million. The acquisition covers about 40 asphalt production plants and several quarries producing more than one million tonnes of aggregate annually.

The division’s activity supplements Eurovia’s existing U.S. operations via its subsidiaries Hubbard and Blythe Construction, which operate in the southeastern states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Eurovia USA now brings together the following main entities: Northeast Paving, Senate Asphalt, Sunmount Paving, Virginia Paving, Hubbard Construction and Blythe Construction.

With this move, Eurovia boosts its operations in the United States, where it generated €488 million in revenue and employed nearly 1,300 people in 2017 and where it delivers a range of expertise in the fields of road construction, civil engineering and asphalt and binder production.

Excuse me, c.a. but this wording could lead to misunderstandings.

No, the minimum wage has not been increased of a single cent. Macron has just granted a bonus of 100 Euros which, moreover, will only be received by a quarter of the people benefiting from the minimum wage.

With regard to overtime, he is simply reversing a provision he had already made

And finally, pensions do not benefit strictly from any increase, he has simply cancelled the increase of a tax that applies to those whose pension is less than 2000 euros and since this ceiling is calculated per household and not per person, this means that this provision will almost never apply to anyone.
