Hi

I began EE program some weeks ago but I still can not concentrate well , I have try to make a good time to do it but I feel block, I have post some questions that I have a long time ago but after trying to meditate I realized that Im afraid to open my mind too much..... I really feel block!!! :-[ :/ What can I do ?

HI Zim, this IMO could have various causes, depends on you to observe and identify them, for example, have you made the suggested detox diet and dietary changes? Have you read the Big 5 psychology books? I'm rereading some of them and I found them very very useful for all the healing process itself, to notice what's really going on inside of us and find names and concepts of all the going ons, gives us the tools and means to Work some stuff we doesn't even know is there. Also, to improve the concentration try to use a 'seed' during the meditation part, this has been discussed too in this thread, you could use the search option to gain a good understanding about it. So patience and don´t give up :).

Hi

After some time with doubts about the EE program I realized that I began to block my self to take out my feelings a lot time ago mainly to not show to my kids all my suffering and try to give them a good atmosphere to live althought I was devastated, so I understood now where it come from, I´ll try to made more the EE program but I have another doubt why in the meditated we have to say the Prayer of the Soul I though say a phrase was a kind of ritual ????

Hi Zim,

That is a good realization about how you've handled your emotions. But what makes you think they don't feel something is wrong. Kids are incredibly perceptive, even if they don't exactly know what is going on with their parents. And they will respond to the subconscious hints and cues they get. You will do them an incredible service by healing your own emotions by practising EE. It really is a complete program for clearing out all those unconscious forces and healing them.

The Prayer is a meditation seed. Laura explains its origins here. If you just say or think the words without really contemplating them, then yes, it can devolve into a mindless ritual. It is supposed to be contemplated, right down to the meaning each word has for you, then putting the words together as they form the Prayer, and what each line means for you. I've found it helpful to make it two different activities. You may find the meanings may change for you over time. When you hear Laura speaking the Prayer and do the breathing, you are "primed" so to speak, to let it sink deeper into your being, while you become more and more relaxed. It's a process.

If you put "Prayer of the Soul" (in quotes, just like that) into the search function, you will find discussions in many sections of the Forum about different aspects of it, and how forum members are incorporating it into their lives.

hope that helps,

Herondancer

Hi zim,

Yes, you can do only the meditation before sleeping.

You can do the whole/all the EE program (warming-up > 3-stage breathing > warrior's breath > BaHa (if you can) > meditation) once or twice a week, or more if you want.

And it is very recommended to do the meditation every night (or day). And if you're really sleepy, it's okay then if you can't concentrate on the words of the prayer, just let it play. But if you can, try to concentrate on Laura's voice and the meaning of the words as herondancer recommended.

If you want you can also do the 3-Stage Breathing and Warrior's Breath every morning.

But what is the most important is:

- meditation every night
- pipe breathing whenever you feel like (in stressful situations and/or when you're in pain for example)
- full program atleast once or twice a week (if possible)

Hi zim,

It's not your mouth that you have to "make different", but your throat. When you say a long, drawn-out Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa, can you feel your throat constrict? It's actually the glottis that you are constricting, your voice box, so to say. If you can feel the constriction, try to make it even more pronounced (deeper sounding). It sounds sort of like a person having an asthma attack, or Darth Vadar, if you will.

When you breathe in through the nose, your glottis needs to have that same constriction as when you breathe out. Only you are bringing the air in through the nose. What is weird is when you do it right, it doesn't feel like you are breathing with your nose, even though your mouth is shut. That's because you can feel the constriction in the glottis more and you can feel the air going through it.

I hope that helps. :)

Well, this evening in the Warrior's Breath section I finally let go of worries about what the neighbours might think, and consequent constrictions in my voice, and really made a loud and clear 'Ha!' It was almost like a very loud bark which was forcefully ejected from my body when I brought my hands down vigorously. I really enjoyed it! I zoned out during the round breathing and when I returned, the pace of the breathing had changed on the audio, and my body had changed to match the new pace.

Turns out I have been doing the inbreath correctly, but not the out-breath, Haaaaa....(sounding like Darth Vader)glottis and all.

Can you explain the reasons for constricting the glottis on inhalation, is this for continued vagus effect or some other reason?

I think this is the right thread to post this.

I finally did the EE programme completely. I have been mainly doing the 3 Stage Breathing with the demonstration part for the last week.Tonight I did the full meditation for the first time.
I don't know why I was so cautious about doing it, I think I had to feel ready. I'm so happy I've done it and I will most certainly keep at it.
I had a few interesting experiences while doing it. After the 'Ba ha' part I felt strong tingles in both my hands particularly my left and as I lay down settling myself
for the meditation I heard buzzing in my ear that grew louder and louder until it was like a Shhh noise. It stopped once I did the pipe breathing again.

The prayer of the soul is so very beautiful and inspiring. When I was listening to it I started to cry and shake a little but then it eased and such joy came over me. After that I
was happily laughing every now and then while listening to the prayer. After the prayer when the music continued I started to see images in my mind out of nowhere.
There was so many beautiful images. I saw beautiful fields and mountains, one of my favourite was of children holding hands dancing and running through a field.
I even had images of space in my mind and seeing how vast and wondrous it is. The last image was a forest with green trees and a path through it. It was moving and I felt this was a road I
should walk on.

There was one image that did startle me a little, it was a snake (looked like a cobra) that popped up. I think it hissed but I moved on away from it and it passed and I started to feel joy again.

Overall the experience left me feeling very much at peace as if everything was going to alright. :):flowers:

Yes, the constricted glottis is what stimulates the vagus nerve. It's important to do that both with the in-breath and the out-breath.

Yes, this is the right thread to post about your experiences with EE, Clarekav, and thank you for sharing. The tingling in your hands will disappear after you do the Baha a few more times, and it is nothing to worry about. It goes away very quickly, as you noticed yourself.

Welcome to doing the full EE program, Clarekav! :D
