Facebook Demands Identification

Help! I cannot find my google+ account anymore. It comes up with accounts it seems to have made up, so lord knows where my shares have been going to!

I had loads of peeps added to my circles over the last couple of years. If any of you guys are still getting any of my shares could someone please send my my own url????

I find this so ridiculous. I did have my laptops 'mended' and lost loads of files and emails that had not backed up properly, but I was sure google is stored on its own servers (for spying purposes lol)

I am so sick and tired of social media and how we can lose all our contacts in an instant. Things used to be so simple and so EASY.. but now so so stressful - to get blocked a t the drop of a hat.

Techies - is there ANY way peeps can save their facebook and other contacts elsewhere so that we have a certain 'safeguard' against the control system? Like where or how can you store 3000 friends to upload to a new FB ID if necessary? (until the next time someone decides to 'report' you).

I have had 5000+ views on wherever my Google+ posts are going but NO circles to show!!! :cool2:

Edit: corrected typo

Could this be it happyliza1?

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. I'm not sure I like the idea of giving FB a copy of my ID. I wonder if they're doing it so they can legally tie a person's posts to them? I don't really buy the "for security and safety" explanation.

On the other hand, a lot of SOTT traffic comes from FB. For example, for the past 30 days 43% of traffic has come from FB posts. So, if we all jump ship, we may lose out in that respect. Google+ simply is not as popular as FB by a long shot.

Maybe people will rise up and complain enough to FB that they'll tone down their silly ID policy, or flock to G+!

Maybe we should start a "Laura Knight-Jadyzck is a Real Person" Facebook page! :ninja:

Oh, that's a good idea. An opportunity to share links, books, videos, etc.

I think what we can do for now is to flood them with complaints. One complaint or two per person for each day the profile is blocked.

Here are a few examples of the idiocy of FBs 'prove your identity' campaign

I'm wondering if this isn't some kind of algorithm that is flagging names based on some silly criteria. Wonder if it's the "knight-jadczyk" thing.

I've been posting and hasthtagging #LKJ #LauraKnightJadcyzk this means they can click the hashtag and find ALL the stuff that's been posted - thing is, if FB was playing fair, they have the data to know Laura's is a real account. By the way 'Knight-Jadcyzk' won't work because the hyphen stops the hashtag.

A page would be good to bring some more attention to the issue and perhaps validate it further, but maybe it wouldn't hurt to email their customer service and draw attention to: the page, the followers, the cassiopaea page (on FB), the hashtags etc..

Wait... According to the article on The Blaze:

When sending a copy of your ID, Facebook requests users cover up sensitive information like a license or passport number. Facebook said it deletes these copies after verification is complete.

What's the point of the photo ID then? They certainly aren't getting any verifiable or secret information about the user... They're just making us jump through hoops!

Right, they said to block sensitive parts of the documents with pieces of paper or something. I cut little rectangles and taped them over certain areas, even more hassle. :P

When I googled Laura's name without the hyphen it came up with only negative reports/interviews etc. So it's not half obvious that this is another attack re fb. She has also been deleted from my page as friend and all the links I posted/shared. They don't need to take down the internet, just Laura's posts...

That is completely ridiculous! Who are they to decide you are or are not allowed to be a verifiable person on FB? It's really none of their business.

‘Absurd’: Facebook Requesting Government ID to Unlock Accounts…Again

Whether Laura was targeted or not (and it certainly DOES seem fishy), I think this is a good opportunity to make a stink, and "expand", i.e. post a lot of articles and videos from her on FB, Twitter, etc. The more "something/someone" tries to shut her down, the more we should spread the word. You know, like trying to have a non-linear "battle". :ninja: :v:

Good idea and filling their inbox with complaints too. War! :cool2:

Yes, I think we need to keep doing that.

Hmm I saw Laura's tweet today and then I got on FB and saw everyone sharing articles. So I knew something was up. I've sent a complaint, tweeted, and shared some articles. Will keep that up. I've not made a G+ account, I just juggle between FB and twitter. Ok FB, more Laura for you now..
