Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT): General information and discussion of Home Units

I'm now somewhere around 220 hours under pressure, 1.3ATA, and besides evident benefits which have already been reported here such as better and deeper sleep, improved skin condition, etc. I would like to point out two very pronounced improvements in my case. First, the noticeable lightness of my legs. After about 80 hours under pressure, while climbing one of my favorite hiking trails, I was pleasantly surprised that even after a whole day of climbing, and descending the mountain, I did not feel heaviness or fatigue in my legs, as it was just a year earlier, climbing the same mountain route. It was quite a noticeable change. Another significant improvement is nothing short of miraculous. Namely, I have been suffering from seasonal asthma for years, which I managed to significantly reduce and control after eliminating gluten and dairy products from my diet. However, I could never break through that plateau and completely get rid of the inhaler during the tree pollen season, especially birch. But this season, which started very early and intensively just like the last few, I did not experience a single asthmatic attack. I didn't have to use a single shot of inhaler! None! Although I had problems with rhinitis and sneezing, even these were nowhere near my usual troubles. I think using HBOT has helped me a lot in almost completely curing my asthma! I can say nothing less than miraculous!

Hi,
A little story about HBOT, actually happening, but not a personal one, not direct, but indirect one.

First, to give context :
I own an IT company and with the benefits i wanted to launch another "business" or better say do or learn other things. This is an old dream i have since +/- 2014, (4 years after i created my actual company) : use the benefits of the company, which is specialized in a useless domain for the people (except that it allow us - my team and me - to earn our life), to a better use, and i had already in mind what to do : selling various tools for health. HBOT was in my list of possible things i could sell since 2014, with also PEMF, colloidal silver (generator), and other things less known.

So we bought in total 9 chambers so far (the ST702 of Macy Pan) and worked on this topic these 2 last years. We worked on it first at 2, then 2 other colleagues helped. I even asked @Lukasz a little help regarding the logo and he kindly advised me :-D. We release our website begining of December 2023. I did not came here to post about because i didn't want to use the forum for this purpose (ie: to sell HBOT to people here). Also, we limited the sells to Belgium, Luxembourg & France (and Germany or Suisse ... i'm not even sure).

What we may do in the future, as our actual page of "testimonies" is empty, is to come here and ask any member who wish to, to write down a testimony on our website. But for this, i already had the idea to create a specific input form with a couple of dedicated fields (sex, age, main health issues, expectations, number of hours done, other ...) + of course the main "free comment" field. Maybe i'll come back with this in the future, once we'll add this on the website ... the big problem is the time.

Last about this topic, it's the funny part : it'll take time for this business to raise up, as since December 2023, we only sold 1 unit (see story below). And looking at the profit margin we make on it, i would need to sell 2,5 unit per month to pay an employee (and even, this would not be an high salary for the Luxembourg). But this can also be explained because we are all busy running the main (IT) company and since we created the website we did not much prospected around for the "HBOT project". We know that we should do it, but we do not have much the time to. At least, this helped me to have an HBOT at home, a test unit ... you know :-[ . My mother also have one ... to test of course ... ^^ - she's 82 and can go in alone, just that she has hard to close the zips.

And now the little story.
Here in Belgium, when we have someone of the region who goes to the J.O. it's known by many. And there's one girl doing the women's marathon (it'll be the last day of the JO, the 18 August) from south Belgium, Wallonie (french speaking part of BE). She was selected early this year. But, she broke something end of June, which means catastrophe for here and the JO. Here's a link to a local article (french) about her & this event.
And guess what : a few moment after (less than 2 days) we were contacted by her sports coach about acquiring one chamber. Then it all happened quickly, I answered him by mail then phoned the day after, we discussed, and 3 days after, they came to fetch one unit. I decided that we'll invoice later, they were very happy of this quick reaction from us, and me, i was happy to help and to feel useful. Since end of June she spent a couple of hours in the chamber, i do not know how much. I had 2 or 3 other phone call with her coach with one last just a few minutes before this post (which motivated me to write this little story here). It's still not sure if she will participate to the marathon, but she's full of energy, training every day using special exercices during +/- the 3 first weeks of July to avoid her body to move too much but train the "cardio" part. I +/- befriended with her coach who looks like a nice guy and we both hope that she'll participate, he told me that what is important for her is to be on the starting line. We'll see.
That's all about, i just wanted to share this here as it's related to HBOT, to show 1 direct example I met, and also a second one i quickly describe just below, still related to the olympic games.

He (the coach) also informed me that a well known french sportif, Kevin Mayer (doing decathlon) get injuried end of July, and that he recently testimonied that he's doing HBOT. Here's the link to one article about (... it's in french too) , and here's the translation of his answer to the first question :

Kévin Mayer: I don't spend a single second doing nothing. (Sunday) I was feeling good, it was finally the perfect profile, I had no pain, I did the hurdles without any apprehension. I could never have imagined that things would go wrong. It took me a day to understand what was happening to me, it was very difficult and now I spend my life in a hyperbaric chamber (to promote healing, editor's note) and when I'm not there I do electrostimulation day and night so that it heals.

That's all for today's story :)

Perhaps a little help from the universe you should amplify by asking the coach of this girl some contacts who would be interested in the presentation the product. In any case, by one way or another, seizing the opportunity.

It looks it's already done. He told me today that he also trained one Luxembourgish athlete and discussed about with him, but it was too late to test HBOT before the J.O., but he'll probably test this after, he (the coach, Thomas) told me about winter. He told me that in Luxembourg, with the few athletes they have, they are seen as local heroes here in the country. Who knows what this can lead to ?
I just felt good when i had Thomas contacting me. For once, in the professionnal domain, i was able to help in a totally other area than the IT one for which i'm used to, and i liked it. Of course, i thought about the good consequences that could happen after, some of my colleagues directly thought and said about this, but ... it's not that i don't care (btw the name of the product is U Care), i mean, i care, but i do not care about making a success business, just ... the "do it" internal motivation.

The main advantage of this "entreprise" is that it does not requires to be successfull on the profitability side, this is extra money spent and it's better there than on a bank account. We spent a lot of time on it, but it was also a way to acquire personal knowledge and couple this with a useful business that i feel as a good response to the harm they made to the populations with the vaxx. This activity should, at a moment, start to bring a few income, unless we do not sell our units, but i'm confident we'll sell them at a time but also more. And if not, it's good to have a couple of these units looking at what is happening nowodays. At least, on the "market" side, after having discussed about internally and with a couple of people, we concluded that it still requires some time for this technology to get known among the general people.

Now i understand it would not be normal to hide the website anymore (it's french only, so far, sorry). Just wanted to comment that we spent a lot of time to make our own summaries, using our words, that it was a nice teamwork of 4 people among the 7 in the company and with also the help of @nature who found, parsed and recommended scientific articles we added in the dedicated section, helped for the redaction of other texts & gave advises. I also wanted to name a main section/menu of the site "Connaissances" (knowledge), guess from who this idea came from !?. We tried to summarized what has to be known on a single site, we almost succeeded, still missing some points or more FAQ. Note at least that the whole site was mainly done by someone (of the team) who never did this before, who is not even from the IT world, but who has some talents in design and who is what we name "a power user" in the IT (a user who well manage and understand computers, applications, etc ...).

Really i didn't had in mind to link the site today, i just wanted to share this little story as it was a pleasant one to share, but the few "like" received in a few time and your answer motivated me to do it.

If new interresting events happen in the future in regard to this little story posted above i'll post back here.
Thanks :)

Hey everyone, I wanted to post a quick update about my HBOT adventure. Due to pretty heavy restructuring and risk of redundancy at work I had to go back to London and couldn’t start my HBOT 1.3 ATA sessions until last Friday. I am only 3 sessions in and I will continue Mon-Fri until I use up the 50 sessions I paid for.

Were you doing any of the ear-clearing exercises? If not, look up the Valsalva maneuver, where you plug your nose, and then blow gently against your plugged nose. It should clear your ears. Do it gently, tho. Others have advised to chew gum, or just yawn regularly. For me yawning regularly works just fine.

I had read about it in this thread prior to my first session and I tried that, but it actually made it worse. So I guess that trick only works for someone whose sinuses are healthy.

I had my first session a few days ago and to be honest, I nearly asked to stop it before the pressure even reached 1.1 ATA. I developed a really severe ear ache shortly after the session started, it felt as if someone was poking needles into my ear and I almost couldn't bear it. I told the person operating I waned to stop, and she closed the flow for a few minutes to see it helped. It did, but it was probably a combo of the pause in the pressure increasing and the fact that I was pressing my ear quite tightly, applying a lot of pressure to the area around it, nearly closing the ear entrance. When the chamber reached 1.3 ATA I slowly released the pressure on my ear and it wasn't hurting anymore. I was able to last the full hour. But annoyingly, the pain returned even stronger wwhen the pressure started to go down at the end of the session.

None of this happened this time round. Maybe it would have, but I chose not to experiment too much and I pressed my ear as soon as the pressure needle started to move and didn’t release it until the pressure reached 1.3 ATA.

I think it was much better anyway through, because going down brought no pain or other negative symptoms I had last time. Just eat clicking. So it’s likely it wasn’t the sinus issue but the cold I’d had shortly before my first session. So RedFox was probably right:

For what it's worth, I was about 90 sessions in when I started getting a mild cold - and experienced exactly the same symptoms as yourself. So best wait until the cold is completely gone before continuing.

Either way, I do have a persistent sinuses issue, so I’m seeing an ENT doctor tomorrow to finally sort it out.

I’m also thinking of buying my own unit when I get to the end of my sessions. I’ll make my decision when I get to the end of the current batch. My health has never been particularly robust, and gievn what’s ahead of is it just seems logical to invest in something that will help me keep going.

I do have a few questions to those of you who bought their own units and who aren’t particularly technically skilled if that’s OK:
  • How did you figure out where to get the oxygen tanks and any other items needed from? Does it come with instructions?
  • Are the oxygen tanks standard and easily available? Or special ones that are harder to get?
  • And what happens if something breaks? Do you know who to reach out to? If yes, how did you find any repairs and maintenance providers?
Any help or suggestions would be really useful and appreciated. It’s a really large sum of money for me and I’d like to make sure it won’t go to waste.

For what it's worth, my unit (and from what I've seen, all the other units people have bought here) come with Oxygen Concentrators, rather than Oxygen Tanks.
You will get:
1) A soft chamber (to lay or sit in). Is this what you meant by Oxygen Tank?
2) A pressurisation unit (to inflate and bring the soft chamber to 1.3 or 1.5 ATA). The chamber is pressurised with normal air, not pure oxygen like medical grade/larger solid systems.
3) An Oxygen Concentrator, to provide the near pure oxygen you breathe (including a canula or mask).
4) The pipes needed to connect everything.

I didn't receive instructions, although they where available on the website.

As to repairs if something breaks, you would have to check with the manufacturer. They all sell spare parts it seems, and some come with better warranties than others.
You could go with a hard shell system, but that is a significant jump in cost. It would give you the option to do 2.0 ATA.
I have a ZoyTech 1.5 ATA chamber, but there are other brands/websites listed on this thread. A factor of cost to consider are the import fee's. Most (if not all) come from China.

Hi @Ant22 ,

Yes i confirm, when you buy one unit it comes with 2 to 3 separated devices, but you can also opt for what they name the "all-in-one" device. I bougt one "all-in-one" and it's heavy and noisy, i do not recommend it for individuals, also, if you plan to move it sometimes, moving this big device is a challenge.
At least we get some experience here with the macy pan one, the ST702 and the devices that come with. When i say 2 or 3 devices, it's because the 3rd one, the cooler (which is little compared to the oxygen concentrator) is optional, but welcomed as it avoids you to fry in the chamber if you have it already placed in an hot room.
There's a warranty with the devices and i heard that macy pan does not much discuss when one device is broken. So far, we had a problem with one of the coolers, a piece of metal broke, a screw, which was, from one of my colleagues who is a gifted manual, because they tightened the screw too much at macy pan.

The cooler and the compressor are rather simple devices, any guy gifted in electrical devices should be in measure to fix small problems (see also the clean up they did to their compressor at le chateau and explained in this same thread).
For the chambers, among the 5 we opened so far, we noticed for 2 some small air leaks, one of them was getting worst from time to time (it was in the unit in which i did more than 100 hours). We warned macy pan and 2 weeks after, they designed a new valve system, then 2 to 3 months after, they designed another one they claim to be even better, they sent us 3 spare pieces of it. Just to say that they are quick to react and also that they are receptive to critics.
On our side, we manually repair the air leaks, i even created a detailed PDF which explain how we did and sent it to Macy Pan. I wanted to post it here but they asked me to avoid it, as they "repaired" this on their new models with better new valve entries. Not that such small air leaks do not prevent the chamber to raise to 1,5 ATA (in our case), but one of them was making noise, and it was a good opportunity for 2 of my colleagues, who are manual guys, to fix it and learn some experience. We simply bought a kind of sheet of rubber that is used by plumbers to cut a precise dimensionned sealing ring. In practice, we simply replaced the seal and it worked. Hardest part was to find a big spanner of 52mm (for this, macy pan also provided us with a copy of a simple spanner they use for the purpose)
Maybe in the future we'll add a new section to the business : "macy pan devices repair shop"

Hope this will help you to take a decision.

I am wondering how are those who have over 100 sessions under their belt doing?
Do you still have regular sessions?
How often?
Have you noticed any significant changes?

I had over 150 sessions throughout 2023 but then last spring i had vitreous detachment which got slightly complicated and led to few retinal tears in one eye. PVD is apparently physiological process that happens to most people but retinal tears are not such common complication.

In any case i stopped while I was dealing with this and then summer started and i normally always take a break from HBOT due to heat until the autumn.
However I am now slight weary of HBOT and not 100% sure it is safe for the eyes since there is a lot of contradictory information out there.
The most common complication of HBOT is either myopia ie worsening of the shortsightedness or development of cataracts.
My eyesight never deteriorated and my retinal tears are fixed now but given the complications of PVD I experienced I cannot help but wonder if HBOT had anything to do with it. You can never be too cautious when it comes to the eyesight.

Has anyone else experIenced problems with their eyes?

Have those who had more than 100 session experienced any significant improvement in their health or rejuvenation of the body?

I think I have but nothing significant and I cannot be sure if this can be attributed to all other things that I am doing or not.

In 2022 i had COViD and pneumonia that wiped me out for few weeks. I started HBO shortly afterwards- I like to think it had helped with my lungs and energy levels. But cannot be sure since i was doing loads of other stuff including ozonated autohemotherapy.

Doing regular HBO sessions is time consuming and I wonder if the effects justify it.
I was planing to restart when the weather cools down and do it at least 3 times a week.

Any input from seasoned HBOnauts will be appreciated.

Interresting twitter post of Kennedy Jr where he mentions hyperbaric therapies among a list.

I paste the X/twitter links but also the text, as it's short, and who knows if in the future all X links would get down ?

FDA’s war on public health is about to end. This includes its aggressive suppression of psychedelics, peptides, stem cells, raw milk, hyperbaric therapies, chelating compounds, ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, vitamins, clean foods, sunshine, exercise, nutraceuticals and anything else that advances human health and can't be patented by Pharma. If you work for the FDA and are part of this corrupt system, I have two messages for you: 1. Preserve your records, and 2. Pack your bags.

UKColumn has posted a new (1:09 hr) video A Breath FOR Life and a Breath OF Fresh Air – with Jane Dean and Debi Evans, which includes information on Jane Dean's nursing journey and her interest in hyperbaric oxygen therapy units. The video description (below) is from UKColumn.
Two years ago, Debi Evans, herself an old-school 1970s retired NHS Ward Sister, received an email out of the blue from Jane Dean, offering to send Debi a copy of her book called Healing the Sick. It is a must-read for recently trained or future nurses. It shows how, over the decades, nurse training has unrecognisably changed, perhaps not always for the best and in the patients’ best interests.

Jane trained as a State Registered Nurse in the 1960s when nursing was a vocation, an honour, and a dream for many. She went on to become a State Certified Midwife, and later retrained as a Naturopath.

In this exclusive interview, Jane tells us how she started on her journey of realising her dream to help ‘heal the sick’. Her inspiration was a remarkable three-year-old called Andrew Waddington who had been left with a catastrophic brain injury because of medical negligence following minor surgery which went tragically wrong and starved his brain of oxygen for eight minutes. Her encounter with him led her on a voyage of discovery into the countless medical benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

With very limited knowledge and only a handful of hyperbaric oxygen therapy units in the UK, she decided to open her own unit, and then her remarkable, arduous, and determined journey began.

Today, her unit is a purpose-built facility in Middleton, Lancashire, and her organisation A Breath for Life is a registered charity. Who can benefit? What benefits can patients expect? What diseases and conditions will it help? Jane and her team of trustees give freely of their time and never claim expenses, but donate especially in times of crisis. The charity is proud to be able to offer their services for a modest donation, and nobody is turned away. It is a remarkable story, and Jane is a remarkable woman.

And what of nursing in 2024? How have things changed over the decades, and with what consequences? Have the words ‘care’ and ‘nurse’ been separated? What do the public expect from a nurse today? How can retired nurses support present and future nurses? Nurses’ hands hold hands, not iPads. Should we abandon the machines, medical devices, and technology and bring back one-on-one human contact, uniforms, and tender loving care? Should we be observing patients, not screens? Is it time to go back to basics?
