Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT): General information and discussion of Home Units

Their prices are ridiculous!

We're thinking about buying a Macy Pan hard shell 2.0 ATA. For those who bought a Macy Pan chamber please send me your first name, family name and your country in PM. We want to use this information as a negotiation lever. Thanks!

About AHA Hyperbarics, I agree it's too expensive, i'm not there to advertise them, but here are a couple of details that justify this high cost, note that I received a detailed offer and more details about the whole package included in the 50k. It was exactly 53k, but for the 2 ATA system, not the 1,8.

Let's say in summary that for a professional, they have a good overall product. They added a spreadsheet with calculations that you can modify, with the price set at 80€ per session, this means that they clearly focus on the professional market, not individuals, and this is also what i rapidly concluded.
Note about 80€/session, it's start to be expensive but remains acceptable for european countries., a cost of 50€ would be mroe adapted for people coming for 40+ sessions, or even a bit less.. All in one, if one professional acquire their package/product and finally succeed to have it used 4x a day, 21 day per month, the investment can be +/- quickly reimbursed ... but the difficulty is to have it often used, around 20 times a week. It really needs to draw a business plan, and that's one of the reasons i rejected them, it's too much, i do not indend at this stage to open such a business, and the more important it's because actually HBOT is still (almost) unknown, people don't know about, first step is to "spread the word", and to achieve this, no need to start with an high quality model.

To finish about AHA hyperbarics :
- The air pumper is of high quality, if i well remember from the conf call i had with them, one unit of the air pumper cost 7k, and their packaging comes with 2 of them (if i well remember in case of failure of one of them, as backup unit). It pumps at 20lpm when Chinese ones are at 5 or 10lpm, which means that it does not take much time to attain the 2 ATA pressure.
- They include an UPS, a cover for the unit, the metal used for the frame looks strong ... overall it's high quality.
- On top of that, they have also a couple of official authorisations which probably have a cost but allow them to be "stamped" as official. Let's say that this argument is half valid, it's 1/2 for real safety/quality purpose (guarantee of good/certified material), but the other 1/2 is just for business purpose.
- They also provide training, a set of different yearly maintenances, extended warranty ...

I think that in comparison with Chinese manufacturers, what make the cost quite higher is also because it's manufactured in Europe, salaries and all various costs are quite higher, they simply can't compete even if they would like to sell a low cost model, so they took the path of proposing high quality material and service. I would compare this to buying a new car at 10 to 15k and one around 50k, it's a rough but valid comparison.

And to make the transition with Chinese hard chambers, it's difficult to compare, it's not for the same use. And hard chamber can't easily be moved. I received a quote from Macy-Pan for their hard chamber and i'm still waiting to receive the quote from OxyRevo, I asked about in my last mail but he did not answer me. I'll PM you Pierre to give you more information that would not be adequate to post here.

I've done 62 sessions now and for the past two or three days, my lower legs were really achy as though the bones were hurting. I even had to skip my second gym day of the week because I was afraid I would injure myself. Today, legs are better (today is my day off HBOT along with Sunday).

So far, my varicose veins are practically gone, so I expect similar vein activity going on throughout my body. My brain fog is mostly gone, my memory is dramatically better, my skin is improving overall and I sure do heal fast if I get a scratch or a bruise. (Pikabu likes to bite me when I comb her.)

I guess having your circulatory system re-tooled is something big especially if it is happening everywhere in your body including your brain.

I don't know what the aching leg bones could be, but there it is, for what it's worth.

I’m not sure if you’re aware but bones are piezoelectric so it could have something to do with the repair mechanism. They’re essentially composed of collagen and apatite crystals which have small spaces in them that can house metal ions like copper to transmit signals.

There’s some theories laid out in the book The Body Electric by Robert O Becker. He did some interesting research on the electric currents of the body and how they’re involved in healing. He was a surgeon at the VA in New York, so you can also see how bureaucratic people tried to stop his research. The .pdf is free online. Glad you’re feeling better!

Good news again, any symptoms that haven't showed improvements yet? My biggest problems are pain and really bad arthritis after 2 years in bed, then I have a bunch of other symptoms, but those keeps me pretty much immobile.

Well, I was diagnosed with arthritis, but I learned I could pretty much control that with diet so I'm not sure it is proper arthritis. I do have a significant reduction in pain, but I also have regular massages, procaine injections when I need to do something and pain will be an obstacle, do kinesio taping when necessary, etc. And all that in addition to the main controller of my pain: diet.

Things that cause my "arthritic" pains are: dairy, eggs, nuts, most grains, seeds of various kinds. I think dairy is the biggest offender with eggs and nuts coming a close second.

You can list me, I don't have a Macy Pan but I would be interested in one for my clinic if you can negotiate a group discount.

That's fantastic, this sounds like one of the most helpful things you've tried over the years.

That's fantastic news!
Could the bone pain be the bone marrow (and stem cells)? Another thought is perhaps the bones/marrow is getting an improved blood supply?

I ordered a zoy-tech chamber a month ago, and haven't received any updates on shipping yet. Will chase them again tomorrow.

I ordered a Zoy-Tech chamber a week ago. I heard from them two days ago, that they expect to complete the production on August 20th, which makes production time about three weeks.

Did you always suffer from varicose veins or is that something that has developed with age. I've always had them, or since my 20s at least, and it would be great to avoid what I thought would be unavoidable surgery.

I started getting them during my fifth pregnancy. They weren't terrible, just ugly. Ark had way worse ones from doing sports. He had surgery on his. The way his leg looked after surgery so horrified me I was sure he would lose it. But after it got over being black all over, it looked pretty good.

Ok, just did my first 60 min session. Didn't expect it to be so difficult to get in and out the chamber…. man! I can't stand or walk without a "walker", and we (Carola that is) had to build a construction, big table basically, so I could sit down beside it and somehow manoeuvre myself in position with Carolas help, took 5 min, but it worked! We couldn't install the frame in the chamber because that would have made it impossible for me to get in.

Another surprise was the left ear, pretty sharp pain the first 2-3 min. Then, when depressurising it sounded like a broken speaker for 5 min. The last year I've had some serious "headache" behind that ear and down the neck. Never had problems with my ears when flying etc.

Didn't sweat, but it felt damp. Will use the fan next time and an extra pillow.

Took 2-3 grams vit C and 5 grams D-ribose after the session.
