I must euthanize Blacky, he is very sick

So sorry to hear about Blacky. It's definitely the right decision. Be happy that you had the time together that you did and that you were able to improve his quality of life. I'm sure he appreciated it. :hug2:

Hi Loreta, I can't offer you any advice really but I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you. :hug2:

I can't say I know exactly how you feel, I was never allowed to keep dogs when I was little and later on my lifestyle was never stable enough to create the right environment for them. But making a decision to part with a companion of many years that you love so much must be really heartbreaking. As you said, Blacky has suffered for a while now, so given how poor his health has become, it is an act of selfless love to let him move on.

You gave Blacky an opportunity to take some wonderful and loving memories with him and I'm sure they enriched your life just as much as they enriched his.

Take care of yourself

Maybe i'm wrong, but why don't you try witamin c, is good for animals :) and also iodine. If will not help then itwill try to remove pain in that way :) so why don't try something diferent ?? :):)

Please accept my condolences for such a difficult decision; had to do that once with a pet; it was the hardest decision I'd ever had to make as of that point.

Hi Loreta really sad to hear this sad time for you and Blackie. Your special time together was a blessing for both of you, which I am sure you have no doubt about. Many humans would not wish to end their days in such 'no life' so why should animals? As an old and very ill dog he must be very tired now and this release will be the kindest relief for him.

Blessings to you both - my thoughts are with you

Sorry to hear that this is happening Loreta. That is a very difficult decision to make but the right one. Please take care of yourself  :hug2:

Loreta,

You've made a very brave decision which is one of the most difficult you can make. Blacky is a true companion and your love for each other will continue that cannot stop whatever happens in this life.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this but you have to make the best decision for Blacky so he doe t endure needless suffering. I will dedicate my next EE session to you both. Take care :hug2:

Loreta, I am so sorry to hear about Blacky. It is one of the most sad and difficult decisions to make, even when we know in our hearts that it is the kindest thing to do to keep our beloved pets from suffering.

Know that you both will be in my thoughts. :hug2: :hug2:

Today with my friend we decided to go and talk to the vet. Yesterday I thought that Blacky was dying, he was so quiet. Today his poo was normal but he was unable to walk, anyway. But he eat and drank and clean himself. So I was looking at him and say: is he dying, is this the right time to put him down? I decided then to talk to the vet and ask her advice. I filmed him and show the dog to her. She asked me if I was giving to him some medication against the pain of his legs (no apart some arnica) , and other questions about his whereabouts. So we decided to give him some anti-inflamatory during 4 days, till Tuesday then we will decided if we need to put him down or not, depends on how he will react to the anti-inflamatory. They are very strong but I have to try. So tonight I gave him the first pill. And one hour after, he started to walk alone, without my aid! With difficulty but he was up, walking and standing up. He has a problem with a leg, but he can stand alone. He continue to do poo and pipi without retinue, this is a problem per se. We will see till Tuesday. I gave him also some massages to the legs with iodine. And I put on his food water from the crystal water. I will continue to do this till Tuesday.

Thank you so much for your spiritual help, your thoughts, your prayers, your concern. I will cross my fingers.

Loreta, since there is in fact some faint hope that Blacky may be able to accompany you for a bit longer, maybe the suggestions biala84 made are something worth considering too? You already tried an iodine massage, let's see how he feels tomorrow I guess.

I guess now the decision ahead of you is even more complex given the recent improvement. It must be really hard to work out where helping him ends and a prolonging his pain starts. He may be behaving more lively but he can't tell you how he is feeling inside. Gosh, keep well Loreta!

Hugs to you both! :hug2:

Yes, the situation is still fragile, complicated. What is important is his quality of life, and we will see how these days he will be.

I will give to him vitamine C, ok.

Thanks again for your advices and presence. All of you love animals, and understand how hard is when one of them dies, and how hard is to say good bye to them. One of the things that I respect in this forum is this understanding of what make us humans, always on the brink of falling, always learning from others. Thank you!

I also hope with all my heart that he can improve Loreta. You will make the best decision for him in any case. Take care.

Loreta, I'm so sorry to hear about Blackie. I remember back when you adopted him. I imagine the last four years have been heavenly for him having your love and care. It's so hard losing animal you love. I'll be thinking about you. Hugs to both of you :hug2:
