I'm sorry to hear about Blacky. This is a tough decision for sure. I had to have my 18 y.o. cat euthanized on March 18th but it was the right thing to do as he was just slowly deteriorating. He started eating less and less then stopped completely, then stopped drinking. He was just exhausted. They put his ashes in a very nice decorative box and gave me a plaque with his name and paw print.

Hugs to you and Blacky and I wish for the best outcome for you both. :hug2:

Thank you Odyssey, I am sorry for your cat, my sincere condolences. :hug2: It is a very hard decision for sure, now I have an appointment Thursday afternoon and I will see how the vet is seeing him. I am unable to see correctly. Too much emotion in my look. He eats and drink. We will see.
Loreta, the vet will guide you but I think although emotion is involved you will see through it if need be and be able to make the decision yourself. I hope he improves but what will be will be. As others have said I hope for the best outcome for all concerned. You are doing a great job helping your companion much love to you :hug2:

Thank you Thebull. I know that the final decision is mine. But I saw an increible improuve in Blacky. I think it is the clay I put on his leg. Clay is a fantastic thing, marvelous. He is able to walk, stand up but he still needs my aid to put him up when he falls. But I am very, very positive. Yesterday he was almost running after my food. He was also stealing the cat food in the kichen. He has other issues, his tumor and his incontinence.

Maybe because he suffered so much during so many years and permitted me to heal him I wanted to heal him again, not abandon him now that he is old. And as I said: clay is marvelous.

We will see what the vet will tell us!

Thanks for your words.

This is how I put clay on the Blacky's leg: I covered it with a gauze around his leg then I put the clay and then another bandage. With this not only clay is doing an anti inflamatory work but also against pain, if pain is there. Also with this his leg is stronger, he can walk and I see that he can use his muscles more than before.

This is awesome that Blacky is feeling better! :flowers:

And just a note regarding rapid improvement. If the pills that you are using are steroids, it can indeed do miracles, but then the deterioration can be very rapid as well after stopping to take them. It can be also hard to distinguish if these are the pills or the clay that are responsible for the improvement. Unless, of course, these are not steroids? If so, then clay really appears to be very effective!

Thanks for the information Keit about the pills. We asked the vet, they are not steroids. And I stopped to give him the pills Monday so I think the clay is doing a good job.

We went to the vet. She saw Blacky and saw a dog that eats, drinks, is normal for his age, she gave me some pills for his bones, and some more pills antiinflamatories but I will continue to put clay instead. The pills for his bones we will see if they help him to walk better. His heart is ok.

I started to see a change in Blacky the moment I gave him the anti inflammatory pills. Before that Blacky was for me kaput. So then, one day suddenly I thought about clay. The only problem is when he falls I have to help him to put him up. for his incontinence I will give him homeopathic medication. His poo is beautiful, for now.

I want to thank everyone here that gave me advice, courage, understanding, that consoled me, made me feel less alone. You are really amazing. Also want to thank Hesperides that helped me to bring Blacky to the vet. I am very grateful.

I hope Blacky will improve or continue for now like now, much much much better than the first day I started this thread. Maybe your prayers and your concern helped him in a sort of way, and helped me and helping me I helped Blacky.

THANK YOU!!!!

This is wonderful news! Hoping that Blacky continues feeling better and better!

Wow! That's quite a turnaround for Blacky. I hope he continues to improve; I didn't think clay would help with a condition that advanced, though medications, remedies, and prayers are contributing too. Thank you for the updates. :)

Yes! I am surprise me too of how Blacky is better, thanks I think so to the clay. There is a lot of information on the web about clay that it is a natural remedy used since prehistorical times.

Such green clay can releive from pain and inflammation. It is antiseptic, antibacterial and healing. The properties of green clays result from its main components: sodium, calcium, magnesium, aluminium oxide, silica, potassium, sulphur, iron, arsenic, manganese, phosphorus and zinc.

Myself I have used clay to cure some cysts and particularly one I had some years ago that even the doctors and antibiotics were unable to cure. Finally clay cured it and this cyst never came back, I had it in my sacra, just at the end of my back. My doctor even put me in a list for a surgical intervention. At that time I was like a puppet in the hands of these sacro Nazis doctors that have so little respect for their patients. Hopefully a friend that was in the homeopathic world talked me about clay. But clay cured me of another cyst I had some years before this one, I just have forgotten. We live in a plastic world and our natural memory forget what is natural.

Blacky started to steal the cat food so that is a good sign. The only real problem is that when he falls he can't put himself up, I will have to teach him how to do it, I don't know how. Make some physiotherapy on him myself. He is teaching me patience.

You can look information about clay here:

And at Wikipedia there is this long information about how clay was used in the history of humanity as a medicine:

Thank you everybody for your comments!

I already had to put two of my dogs to sleep in the past, one of them being a Belgian pastors like Blacky, and that´s why I´m only too happy you let me accompany you through all this ordeal. I know well how much this hurts, but all the more when there´s nobody around us being there for supporting and comforting us. So, thank you Loreta and Blacky! :hug2:

Your deliberate obstination in finding and applying an alternative remedy for Blacky aside from the pills you´ve been given by the vet, plus Blacky´s sovereign attitude -very attentive during the whole transport in your car, showing so much endurance in keeping the pace with you while walking as you were holding her fast thanks to the help of the scarf you had winded up around her bowel so that she wouldn´t stumble, her genuine interest toward other dogs, was baffling to say the least. She also did attract much compassion from most of the passersby since aside from her limping issue, one of her rear legs was wrapped with a gauze, and some bald parts over some parts of her already skinny body wasn´t playing at her favour either.

I was happy to hear the vet saying her heartbeat were normal, although if you ask me she seemed somewhat surprised that you still didn´t want to put her to sleep. Maybe she´s used to dogs owners who can´t stand, understandably, taking care of them once their deterioration becomes too obvious. Anyway, weren´t it for your questions about finding temporary solution, she wouldn´t have given you any mineral pills for her bones. Plus, as we discussed at that point, she has been interrupted so many times during both visits that my hairs stand on end when thinking how much hope pets owners are placing on them when it comes to curing or saving their companions.

I´m more than happy she made it safe back home, and her friends, the dog and the cat, also applauded, visibly excited upon her arrival. I think Blacky isn´t still prepared to depart from this world as she seems and behave like she still have some important things to settle first on this plane. :)

I send you both kisses and hugs!
