I was just gifted a beautiful horse :)

Great pics guardian and congrats on your gift :)
I was never interested in horses until my wife bought one for us :)
These are very gentle creatures , I am still afraid of their rear legs though :-[

She's beautiful Guardian...Happy trails to you both.

First baby pictures...which were not exactly easy to get. My friend wasn't home when I visited and Agaliha wanted snuggles, so I had to play hide and seek around the building to get enough distance to get her whole body in the picture.
Those of you with horses know what I was trying not to slip and fall into while playing horsey tag after a hard rain :P

Oh gosh! She's like a pinto paint horse that Native Americans ride :D I love horses with that kind of pattern!

I hope you're not going to use a neck retainer on her? I don't really like to see horses wear those :(

Guardian,
I am overwhelmed with joy for you. Aside from having all psychopaths beamed up to another planet, I can't imagine a nicer gift. There is nothing that compares to an equine/human relationship.

I have felt a strong connection to horses (donkeys too, I guess) all my life and when I finally got to be close to a horse for the first time, it was as if we knew each other's soul. I also noticed how therapeutic interacting with horses can truly be. The whole world disappears when you engage a horse.

I do get almost the same experience from dogs. So, since I now live in the city, dogs it is and dogs it shall have to remain, until I convince my partner to move back to the country. For now, I will have to be satisfied in visiting close friends who have a small farm.

They helped an elderly lady who had tried to bring back the Newfoundland Pony breed, which was almost completely wiped out. She found a few with the purest genetics and brought them all the way back to her farm in Ontario.

After a few years of breeding, she had quite few but ran out of money, so my friends offered to host three of them for her.

One New Year's Eve, a few years ago, she had a freak barn fire that killed all of her beauties. It was so tragic, my heart just broke for both her and the ponies. Thank goodness the three at my friends' farm are healthy, so they can start all over.

They are the most remarkable creatures.

Anyway, sorry for the sad tale. All that to say this lady's love of the animal was so strong that she spent every penny she had trying to bring the breed back from near extinction.

I am so happy for you and most grateful to creation, both for the creature and the gift for you.

Gonzo

Woww she is gorgeous!!! Who said dogs have to be a (wo)man's best friend! Enjoy your new friend, Guardian, and more pics are always appreciated :) (especially when you eventually end up riding!!). For some reason I'm imagining you in that wonder woman costume on the horse ;D

I think there's something wrong with my computer. I can't see any of the images. :(

If you haven't done so already, re-load the page and give it time to load the images. It may be that it just needs more time to bring them up.

Guardian, you are so lucky! She's really cute!

It made me think of this song:

(I don't know if you guys know the show it's from, Fathed Ted. It's about two silly priests in Ireland. Very funny)

:D
