I don't know how much corn starch is in that product, but I have mixed iodine with corn starch and that was a very bad combination. It burned my stomach lining. I think it's very caustic. It is what I call a purple iodine.

A blue iodine, which I created by mixing with a potato starch, is on the other hand a good thing. I don't know about US, but you can find it is some countries. Maybe they can send it to US. Of course, Russia is now under sanctions, so that option is not available.
