Iodine and Potassium Iodide

In terms of the magnesium, I have Magnesium Citrate powder - and im kind of wondering how to adjust the recommendation of 500mg of magnesium, because the bioavailability is different. Anyone have any thoughts on this ?

Do you have the Now Foods brand one? It says: 1/2 Level Teaspoon --> 315 mg magnesium. So one thing you can do is to have a cup of water with 1/2 level teaspoon of magnesium citrate once or twice a day, preferably in the evening. A small note, in the past I also used magnesium citrate powder, but noticed it was difficult to have it dissolve well in water, but if you stir well it shouldn't be a problem.

My energy is good, brain fog greatly reduced. And one thing that's interesting: my eyes and ears seem to be improving in various ways. The tinnitis is reduced by about half and no more light flashes in the eyes.
That's good to hear, I'm happy for you. I will be so happy if my tinnitus reduces.

Thank you Z, for trying to explain, but it is too much complicate for me to understand.
However I appreciate your effort and I learned something from that too. And happy that so many smart people is here to help me something everyday!!!

Hey all!!

A little update with the protocol for me: i started two days ago with just one drop of 5% Lugol, I don't have the co factors yet so it was better to start with a little dose, for the first day I just felt all energized, and had a mild headache that came and go for some minutes, but then it disappeared, the first day was ok, I had a good sleep and woke up really rested. The second day I decided maybe to up the dose, so I went for just one drop of 12% Lugol, and I felt the energy but then it went down a lil, at my grocery shopping i started to feel "weird", like with a light head sensation but not really present, it was a funny feeling, then at 8 pm more or less, i was feeling waay too tired, and was watching a movie but I fell asleep for a couple of minutes then woke up super super hungry... (that's something im realizing, im more hungry than usual, oh and also craving chocolate more than usual..) Today i took again just another drop of 12%, followed by energy but then it went down again, my eyes are feeling heavy, and while doing my homework i was also feeling light headed but not really paying attention to what I was doing.. its like ups and downs of energy.

Im also taking the salted water, 2-3 cups per day, and I'll wait to the co factors to get here so I can up my dose a little bit. For now I just have magnesium, which im taking 500 mg before bed. My sleeping cycle got better, cause I usually wake up in the middle of midnight, but im finally resting well.

Thanks all for ur updates and feedback!! It's been wonderful reading the experiences of each one.

Anything over 200mg of magnesium citrate and I hit bowel tolerance. Magnesium bisglycinate (or glycinate) I can do lots of without a problem. I'd say if you want to hit 500mg with the citrate, divide the dose over the course of the day, as Oxajil suggested.

It's about double that for me. I can take a whole 2 teaspoons in one dose, without any stomach issues, but it used to be lower. I take xylitol dialy in my hot chocolates, so perhaps that's why. I used to get issues with both xylitol and magnesium when i first started using both.

Upon closer inspection, the bottle says 2.5g (1 teaspoon) worth contains 205mg of elemental magnesium. However, It doesnt say on the bottle what kind of bioavailability it has. Im having difficulty tracking these numbers down because lots of websites claim different numbers. In any case, 2 teaspoons is 410mg of elemental magnesium. But, am I actually going to absorb that much ? I might have to take much higher doses if not ?

Can anyone provide some clues to this ?

Thanks.

My throat has felt like it has been swelling up for days, I increased my Vit C intake and kept a close eye on what was going on.
Along with the throat swelling, my hands have been seizing up and becoming really sore and sometimes cramping. I notice this especially when doing EE, concentrating on the pain in my body.

This morning I woke up feeling extremely ill, my throat is really swelled up and it's hard to swallow, my nose is a little bunged up, and I just feel ill to be honest. I'll keep off the iodine today, as it's my first day in a new job, taking extra vit C and considering taking Naproxen to see me through the day. I may need a course of antibiotics, as this doesn't feel like just a common cold. Nuking on the weekend!

If you were keeping a close eye on things, you should have dropped the iodine upon the first sign of such symptoms. Why did you continue "for days"?

I watched an interview with Dr. Brownstein, he said it was the chloride in salt (sodium chloride) that binds to and carries the bromide and fluoride out of the body. The sodium (I think) helps support the sodium iodide symporter system, which is how the body utilizes Potassium Iodide, whereas the iodine is directly absorbed.

I just got my Brownstein book, but haven't read all the details yet.

Interesting. I looked up Iodine, Bromine, and Flourine to see what their stable molecular forms are.

Since they are trying to fill up the 1 electron lacking in the outer valence, the natural form is to bond with another molecule of same:
I2
Br2
F2
In solutions they break down as follows:
I2 => 2 I-
Br2 => 2 Br-
F => 2 F-

In order of reactivity of the Halogens we have:
1) F
2) Cl
3) Br
4) I

So, the most reactive being Fluorine, which is probably the most difficult to get rid of. Bromine is less reactive than Chlorine, so the salt helps a lot there!

Just to add to your post. These are actually well known simple chemical reactions. It is called "Halogen displacement". Here is a YT link _https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbFCWFksYoM

And there is also this _https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyP8zhS9c5c
So it turns out that Aluminium might be another element that interferes with Iodine
Hmmm , possible vaccines connection here ?

Also small update:

I am on 8th day.

I am currently taking 5-6 drops twice a day.
Still no Herx symptoms which is weird since I have so many health issues that I thought it will blast through me :D
However , there are good symptoms - Psoriasis is definitely declining !
I still have these Mega-Power waves so I feel like I can move mountains.
Although it is to early to judge but It looks like smaller fungal infections are not expanding and that is without topical applications - only Lugols + cofactors.

I wonder about this ringing in the ear. It seems like it is related to some foreign material within the machine. Some sort of interference?

Just the thought of having some ice cream makes this ringing in my ear go to a fevered pitch. I have felt that this is directly related to certain pathogens. Three weeks into the protocol, resisting the urge to have a dish of ice cream has become much easier. Also it is becoming a lot quieter, funny even writing about ice cream brings on a cheer, of sorts. Talk about interference!

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if the noise is directly related to pathogens in your machine.

It´s interesting to see how without cofactors your energy level would decrease. Even if you were ok the first day, you felt really rested the next morning, perhaps because you were already stressed before and magnesium helped in that.

I think I wouldn´t make it through the day without cofactors but mainly NAC, vit.C and salt water. You´ll surely feel the difference once your supplements reach you. One more thing just in case, I wouldn´t start on Lugol without them because one never knows how clean our body actually is and surprises may erupt unexpectedly at any time. Fwiw.

The hunger, disconnection/disassociation and low energy can be signs of bromide detox. So perhaps take a break for a day and/or go back to the 5%?
The chocolate (and coffee/alcohol) cravings can be helped with Tyrosine - it's possible it may help the other symptoms too, as it's needed for creating thyroid hormones.

Carry on with the other supplements on the days off from Lugols. Especially important is the salt water and Vit. C.

I did drop the iodine from 10 to 5 drops, and have days off.. Then I read that the sore throat and phelgm could signify the thyroid working to detox, so didn't see it as an oncoming illness. Idk, guess I need to be more on top of things!

One thing that has happened though, which I'd like people's take on. Is it at all possible that 'activating critters' might actually start off the symptoms of arthritis? I've had a lump come up on the knuckle of one of my fingers. At first, I thought something had bitten me in the night, but it has remained for a week and is painful to the touch or if I knock it on something.

I've looked it up and it looks very much like what they call a Bouchards Node. I'll upload a couple of pics. When it came up on the first day and I thought it was a bite, I put a drop of lugols on in the morning and at night and then another drop the next morning. I haven't put any iodine on since then because the discolouration was a bit awkward in social/work situations.

A Bouchard's node usually develops over a long period of time, after chronic inflammation in the joint.

I think in your case, it might be related to detox reactions. The lesion does resemble some of the bromoderma lesions some people get. Lesions like that usually don't develop with die-off from bugs under other protocols. That makes me think it is related to bromide or any other toxic mobilized by the iodine.

I agree. It looks very similar to the lumps I had, and they were all very close to bones or right around them. Elbow, knee, etc.

T.C. said:
So, I found an image of cutaneous lymphatic sporotricosis on a finger, which I will attach. I've looked at the other skin conditions (ioderma, bromoderma, etc.) but it doesn't look as much like them.

[...]

So I've done some searching for links between bromine and fungi and how they might be activated or fed by it and (and maybe this is common knowledge here) I came across this article which briefly mentions how fungi like heavy metals:

_https://rawevolution.wordpress.com/2012/09/08/what-does-hair-loss-iodine-deficiency-and-heavy-metals-have-in-common/

Fungus like organisms, also causes arthritis, in particularly the ligament, joints, and hard collagens, which joins the bones in knees and spinal columns, but fungus and mycoplasma is found to cause hair loss by attacking the hair follies. When the body is high in HEAVY METALS, it becomes a paradise for fungus, mycoplasma and bacteria with fungus abilities. The fungus need food near the heavy metals and the heavy metals protect themselves from hostile antibiotics, so basically antibiotics get destroyed or oxidized in presence of heavy metals. Hmmm, maybe this is the reason why antibiotics doesn’t work!

Remember I thought it started as a bite? So maybe it's as much the Mercury, Aluminium, etc. being chelated that has caused this reaction in me? That I got bit by something and then there were elevated levels of heavy metals in me that helped the fungus take?

Apart from everything I've read in the LWB and Keto threads, together with the info in this thread, this cellular and pathogenic biology is all a foreign language to me. Does it sound like I'm overreacting and looking for data to support a pre-conceived conclusion?

Have you stopped taking the idiodine for a few days, and taken lots of salt water and live support supplements? That's one way to tell, based on my experience at least. If the symptoms disappear within 2 or 3 days, it was detox, most likely. If not, then you might want to check for the fungus connection. It is possible that you "awoke" some critter. But it looks more like bromine detox to me, FWIW. It's not as nasty as the second picture you posted.
