Just to let everyone know I'm continuing to rest mostly, take my pills and shot on schedule, eat okay and do some reading.

...And don't forget to be patient! :)

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Thank you for the update, Laura. It seems to me that everything is going as it should be and I am glad that there is much less pain. I hope you are enjoying your reading. :lkj:

Super great to hear that the procedure went well and that you are back home and resting. Considering all the pain you were experiencing, give yourself the needed time to heal properly. Best wishes to your recovery.

This is wonderful news, I was really hoping you would not have to continue suffering for much longer before receiving treatment. After reading in the session thread what you posted about all that was involved in the treatment, I knew it would be grueling! That's a lot to endure in such a short period of time!! You most definitely need to rest and recover! I really hope the treatment has lasting results and that you just continue to feel better and better!
I also would happily contribute towards funds for any further treatment, so keep us posted about future plans! Rest well!

That's darn cool - good for him!

He injected an experimental dose of 10 million AST-OPC1 cells directly into Kris’ cervical spinal cord.
[...]
Two weeks later, Kris began showing signs of improvement and within two months he was able to feed himself, use his cell phone, write his name, operate a motorized wheelchair and hug his friends and family.

“As of 90 days post-treatment, Kris has gained significant improvement in his motor function, up to two spinal cord levels,” said Liu. “In Kris’ case, two spinal cord levels means the difference between using your hands to brush your teeth, operate a computer or do other things you wouldn’t otherwise be able to do, so having this level of functional independence cannot be overstated.”

this brought a smile to me. considering your pace of reading in the past, this reading must be of a more relaxed variety. I don't know for you, but for me reading is the pleasure of meeting and understanding (or trying to) interesting or fascinating intelligences/minds bring their very best to me/our conversation. I find it both demanding and restorative.

I am so thankful for the assistance forum members have made to create this possibility for you, and therefore for us ALL.
Pray rest and take care

Amazing! Thank you for going through all of this, thank god for all went well and wish you fast recovery.

Good stuff, Laura. I'm very happy that you decided to go ahead with this treatment and wish you speedy recovery.

I saw the pictures and must admit that it is difficult to see you in the post-operative state. But I'm glad it all went OK. Also, you were surrounded by loving and caring people which is fantastic.

Do take it easy for a while and keep us all updated about your progress. This is actually a fascinating process and you could be paving the way for healing of many others. You get better now and we spread the word!

Many hugs and much love,
Adam

As everyone here, I'm sincerely happy that you feel better Laura. I thank you for your bravery and your posts here to keep us informed.
The pics are very helpful to make us understand a bit better what you passed through. I was touched by your eyes, you seemed so tired but still with dignity.

I wish you a complete success and I'm already glad when I see your progress. You deserve some rest and you know that a lot of people are with you all around the world.
