Just to let everyone know I'm continuing to rest mostly, take my pills and shot on schedule, eat okay and do some reading.

I'm glad that all went well with the treatment. I wish you a great recovery.

I had NO idea. Have been traveling !

Laura,

Glad to hear you are home and recovering.

All the BEST !

I'm still here and resting mostly, though I've switched from leisure reading to "work" reading. I have an idea that I'll start doing some small things in the coming week to try to get the energy going.

Glad to hear you are getting some rest and some mojo going, Laura. The stem cell procedure is not an easy one, for sure. Thanks for the update! :flowers:

I wish you a fast and great recovery.

I'm "working" on it.

It's actually hard work to NOT do stuff. I've found I have to severely limit my time in the desk chair because of the need for proper support for the knee. And I definitely want it to heal as soon as possible. So, I do hit and run checks of the forum and FB and Twitter: a couple minutes a few times a day. That way I feel like I'm doing as much as I can to keep the energy moving.

I admit that reading the news is often disheartening, and that is why now, more than ever, we all need to be encouraging and supporting each other and talking through things. The Cs told us this day was coming and they even gave us an approximate time for the beginning of turmoil. Well, it's here, so let's deal with it!!!

And ya'll please, watch my back for me while I get well! Be excellent to each other and keep your spirits and energy up!

Good to hear that your resting the best you can. I had the impression the doing as little as possible bit would be difficult for you but sounds like your been a good patient. Please keep it up, one step at a time until your ready to increase your work load.

I was wondering if your having reiki, massage or any other therapies at the moment to help you with your recovery?

We do Reiki about once a week.

I went to the physiotherapist and he refused to work on me because he was afraid of doing more damage. He said my knee was such a wreck, he wouldn't touch it and we can only pray that the stem cells do something. That was kinda depressing, but better he should be cautious, I guess.

I'm using red light/near infrared on it and that feels good. I guess we'll see if it does what it promises.

I take a daily injection to stabilize my insulin which tends to hyperinsulinemia and that seems to be inducing weight loss almost no matter what I eat. That's cool and I'm having an interesting time experiencing stable blood sugar for the first time in my life without having to stay strictly no carb. I'm also taking a couple of drugs for the circulation in my legs which needs to be kept up while I'm so static. One of them makes me sick to my stomach, but it sure does make the leg feel better!

I quit the blood pressure med and the nerve pain med and the muscle relaxer because all three of them made me dopey. I do NOT like feeling dopey!!! AND, my blood pressure went right down and now runs about 115/120 over 65/70 so I think I'm good there.

Went to the new GP yesterday and she took a copy of all the records, gave me scripts to keep up the prescribed meds, and gave an order for a nurse to come out to the house and take my blood to re-do all tests in a couple months to see how things are progressing. So she is onboard and that made me feel better.

So, it's a process and I'm still in the serious recovery stage. I'll be glad when two months is up and I can knock off two more of the drugs.

Laura, you obviously still have plenty of challenges, but it sounds like progress is still being made. I'm glad you have a cooperative GP and have faith more good reports are coming.

I'm with you . . . I definitely don't like feeling dopey and if you can keep progressing without those meds, it sounds like a great plan.
