"Today in Macedonia's Parliament I received a request from 67 MPs to schedule a continuation of the ninth composition of our Parliamentary assembly which was started and stopped on December 30th, 2016. For these reasons, and after consultations with members of the political parties, I scheduled a Parliament session for Noon on March 21st, 2017" says in the press release sent by Parliament speaker Trajko Veljanovski.

VMRO-DPMNE Asks Hahn to Condemn Tirana Platform

http://www.independent.mk/articles/42337/VMRO-DPMNE+Asks+Hahn+to+Condemn+Tirana+Platform

VMRO-DPMNE has sent three requests to European Commissioner Johannes Hahn, to help solve the political crisis. MP Aleksandar Nikolovski announced that the party will ask Hahn on Tuesday to clearly reject the Tirana platform and to respect the principle winner-winner when the government is formed and to unblock the Euro-Integration process.

“His predecessor Olli Rehn demanded the rule for government forming to be respected – that is the winner of the Macedonian bloc to form coalition with winner of the Albanian bloc. We ask for this rule to be respected now and in the future. Do not violate the rules EU imposed,” Nikoloski said.

The MP demanded that “the group of over 200,000 people that are on the streets in Macedonia daily and remain firm on their position”.

“And the most important thing perhaps, to unblock the Euro-integration process. I do believe that Commissioner Hahn comes to Skopje trying to help regarding this issue. But, it would be better if he spends as much time in Athens as he does in Skopje, because the block for EU-integration comes from there,” Nikoloski concluded.

MHRMI meets with State Department, asks for end of US Interference

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31595/1/

Macedonian Human Rights Movement International President, Bill Nicholov, met again with relevant US State Department officials and reiterated MHRMI’s call for the United States to condemn the Tirana Platform, instead of condoning and advocating for it. MHRMI called for Ambassador Jess Baily to be immediately removed from his post as US Ambassador to the Republic of Macedonia, Deputy Assistant Secretary Hoyt Brian Yee to retract his call for a mandate to be given to the anti-Macedonian coalition and for President Trump’s overdue Macedonia policy to be implemented immediately.

Nicholov expressed indignation that the United States would actively support a coalition whose goal is to change Macedonia’s name, identity, flag, anthem and threaten Macedonia’s territorial integrity. He highlighted the irony of the US outrage over Russian meddling in the recent US Presidential election, considering that the core US foreign policy for the past seven decades is just that – foreign interventionism. He called for the US State Department and US Embassy in Macedonia in particular, to take direction from the new Trump administration – one that pledged to end US foreign interference.

Nicholov reiterated MHRMI’s call for the US to denounce the name negotiations – as it will prove actual US support of Macedonia’s sovereignty – as opposed to its current efforts to undermine it. This would remove the overarching issue that has led to regional instability since the Republic of Macedonia’s independence in 1991.

Further highlighted was the need for the US to denounce anti-Macedonian statements, actions and blackmail by the EU, European Parliament and Macedonia’s neighbours, in particular, the bizarre European Parliament resolution that claimed the Macedonian minority in Albania as “Bulgarian”, the proclamation by EU High Chief Federica Mogherini that EU admission talks for “this country” would be stalled unless the anti-Macedonian coalition is given a mandate to govern. The irony is that Macedonia has been prevented from entering NATO and the EU until it changes its name to appease Greece, the EU member-state that has the backing of the European Union in denying the existence of the Macedonian nation.

Nicholov expressed outrage that the Macedonian minority throughout the Balkans not only does not enjoy the human rights “guaranteed” by the European Union, but that it frequently has to defend itself from attacks against its ethnic origin by the European Union itself, including the refusal by High Chief Mogherini and EU states to call Macedonia by its name. Nicholov called for the annual State Department Country Reports on Human Rights Practices to include all instances of human rights abuses against Macedonians in Balkan countries as this information is continuously provided to them by MHRMI. He further reiterated that pro-Greek, anti-Macedonian terms such as “Slavic groups” must not be used to describe Macedonians as this is a term used by Greece to negate Macedonians’ ethnic origin.

Moreover, Nicholov called on the same rights that are guaranteed to the Albanian minority by the Ohrid Framework Agreement to be implemented for the Macedonian minority in Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo and Serbia.

The double-standard for Macedonia and Macedonians must end now. MHRMI expects the US to uphold its declarations of democracy and human rights and ensure that this finally occurs.

Pristina/Kosovo working under the former Policy set by the Obama administration are illegally confiscating and privatizing more Serbian property.

The authorities of the self-proclaimed Kosovo republic have decided to confiscate up to 200 billion euros’ worth of real estate of the former Yugoslavia’s Serbia and Kosovo Province, adding pressure to an already strained relationship between Pristina and Belgrade.

Pristina Snaps Up 200 Billion Euros' Worth of Serbian Property in Kosovo
https://sputniknews.com/europe/201703201051763212-kosovo-property-confiscation/

The Kosovo cadastral agency has been instructed to immediately register all real estate, amounting to more than 2 million square meters of buildings, including a ski resort and a mining complex, but also land, as the property of Kosovo.

Meanwhile, according to the Serbian cadaster agency, Serbian immovable property in Kosovo amounts to 1 million square meters and Serbian-owned enterprises in the region are valued at about 200 billion euros.

The region’s strategic natural resources “privatized” by the Pristina government include almost 15 billion tons of lignite and over 42 billion tons of lead and zinc.

Reacting to the news, Serbian First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said the decision was "completely illegal, and unacceptable."

No serious investor will spend money in Kosovo based on this decision of the government in Pristina — "because they won't know whose property it is in the end," he added.

According to the former head of the Kosovo cadastral agency, Slavica Radomirovic, 58 percent of industrial enterprises and real estate in Kosovo belong to Serbia and its citizens as proved by original documents taken out of the region after the 1999 war.

Radomirovic warned that the Kosovo authorities had prepared their own cadaster books based on forged data.

In an interview with Sputnik Serbia, Dusan Prorokovic, an expert with the Belgrade-based Strategic Alternative Fund, said that Pristina prefers to resolve all disputes with Belgrade by military force and that all it really wants is property.

“All they are doing was previously approved by the Obama Administration. They started with a demand for a Kosov army and within the next few weeks we could expect further such steps by Pristina. They know that the international community will look on as a new balance of forces is emerging in the Balkans,” he said.

Political analyst Dusan Janjic said that all this was a logical continuation of the EU-launched process of illegal privatization of Serbian property in Kosovo.

“Pristina is speeding up this whole process across the board. Just like its [Western] sponsors, it wants things like the army and property cut out for it before they start a dialogue in a new format,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kosovo Vice-Premier Branimir Stojanovic told the Serbian TV channel RTS that the decision to confiscate Serbian property in Kosovo was legally nil and void and could seriously complicate relations with Belgrade.

He added that the decision was taken behind closed doors without asking the opinion of Serbian representatives in the regional parliament.

Kosovo unilaterally proclaimed independence from Serbia in 2008 and is recognized by over 100 UN member states. Serbia, as well as Russia, does not recognize Kosovo’s independence.

SDSM Refuses Proposal for Elections, Wants to Form Government

http://www.independent.mk/articles/42388/SDSM+Refuses+Proposal+for+Elections%2C+Wants+to+Form+Government

SDSM spokesman Petre Shilegov said that Macedonia does not need new elections, and that the party expects that the Parliament will be constituted as soon as possible to vote on a new Government .

"We had elections and the majority of the voters said they want change. A new majority is formed in the Parliament. President Ivanov has no right to defy the Constitution", Shilegov said.

President Gjorge Ivanov refused to give SDSM the mandate to form a Government with three smaller parties that represent ethnic Albanians after SDSM leader Zoran Zaev agreed to the Tirana platform, which Ivanov finds unconstitutional. VMRO-DPMNE, which narrowly won the elections, calls for a new vote, citing high disapproval ratings of the Tirana platform among SDSM voters, and saying it was only presented to the voters after the election was over.

Shilegov said that the party expects that the visit of European Commissioner Johannes Hahn on Tuesday will reiterate the position of EU diplomatic chief Federica Mogherini, that Ivanov should give Zaev the mandate. Shilegov also blamed President Ivanov and VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski of rhetoric of political violence and called for a condemnation from the Union.

Shilegov also warned high school principals against allowing students to leave classes on Tuesday and attend protests. After three weeks of daily rallies by the association For a United Macedonia, a particularly large wave of rallies against the Tirana platform is expected on Tuesday.

United for Macedonia organizers want a meeting with visiting Eurocrats

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31601/1/

Ahead of a visit to Macedonia of the EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn, representatives of the civic initiative "For United Macedonia" said they would request a sitdown with the EU official to presented the initiative's demands.

"We are a reality, no one should and no one must not ignore the 200,000 citizens who are protesting daily. Unfortunately, the EU so far has been ignoring us, as well as the citizens of Macedonia. We will denounce any government that will abide by a platform drafted outside Macedonia under the auspices of foreign prime ministers," Igor Durlovski, member of the civil imitative, said Sunday speaking to members of the media outside the offices of the EU delegation in Skopje.

"For United Macedonia" has been organizing protests across the country for more than two weeks as a show of support for the unitary character of Macedonia.

"We ask Mr Hahn to meet with us in order to present to him our objectives and demands. If they are ignored, it could trigger further risks. If the EU advocates for respect of the civil society, then it should take concrete action. For starters, they can arrange a meeting with us. Hahn's disregard would be considered an insincere treatment and a show of unfortunate intentions of the EU towards the Republic of Macedonia," Durlovski stated.

Update:

European Commission spokesperson Maja Kocijancic said Monday that Commissioner Hahn received other requests for meetings, but that he and the three accompanying Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), Eduard Kukan, Knut Fleckenstein and Ivo Vajgl, would meet only with representatives of the Macedonian political parties.

"As I already said on Friday, he is due to meet political representatives. It is true there were other requests as well, and very often when he travels to the country we try to meet as many interlocutors as possible, including from the civil society, but this time the commissioner will meet the political representatives as the agenda does not allow for more", said Kocijancic.

Over the weekend, "For Joint Macedonia" front runners asked for a meeting with the Commissioner and the MEPs during their visit to Skopje on Tuesday.

Ivanov-Orban: Interference of Other Countries in Macedonia's Internal Affairs Unacceptable

http://www.independent.mk/articles/42391/Ivanov-Orban+Interference+of+Other+Countries+in+Macedonia%27s+Internal+Affairs+Unacceptable

An interference of other countries in Macedonia's internal affairs is unacceptable for Hungary. New snap poll is necessary for resolving the political crisis in Macedonia, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said Monday at a meeting with Macedonia's President Gjorge Ivanov in Budapest.

Ivanov extended gratitude to Hungary on its overall support of Macedonia in regard to the constitutional name, challenges deriving from illegal migration, as well as the request to the EU Council to condemn the so-called 'Tirana platform'.

Ivanov briefed Orban on the developments in Macedonia, possible solutions to the crisis, reiterating his positions - elimination of the obstacles to awarding a mandate for forming a new government or calling new early elections.

Hungary stands firmly against the 'Tirana platform', Orban said, pointing out that the EU stability is not possible without stable Macedonia.

'Hungary will keep supporting Macedonia,' Orban said, presenting his opinion to Ivanov on the lack of consensus within the EU Council on the challenges Macedonia has been facing.

The EU approach to Macedonia was inappropriate, Orban said, adding that the country should have joined the Union and NATO long time ago.

Today, Ivanov also held talks with his Hungarian counterpart Janos Ader and Parliament Speaker Laszlo Kover.

German MP: The West prefers albanians because they're world's best Vassals

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31603/1/

German MP Dr. Alexander Neu stated that the few western countries who continue to meddle in Macedonia's internal affairs must respect the country's sovereignty.

- To respect someone's sovereignty is to not meddle in that country's internal affairs. Yet, we all know that both Berlin and Brussels continue to meddle in the internal affairs of Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro. Macedonia is under pressure. Lets talk about the Ohrid Agreement. Macedonia was blackmailed into signing this agreement by the US and NATO. The agreement granted massive concessions to the ethnic Albanian minority much to the detriment of every other minority, incuding the Macedonians themselves - says Dr. Neu who was part of the OSCE mission in Kosovo back in 1999 and has good knowledge of the region.

- What happens in Kosovo today has been ongoing. We are witnessing albanians provoking the Serbs, but Brussels has no comment. When the Serbs respond, Brussels is hysterical and is seeking answers from the Serbs!? We saw the same thing in 2001 in Macedonia. Western nations openly supported albanian separatists and terrorists and opposed any action by the Macedonians. Not much has changed since then unfortunately - says Dr. Neu.

According to Dr. Neu, the West loves albanians because they are the best vassals anyone can ask for.

- The Macedonians and Serbs first and foremost have different culture than what we see today in the west. Culturally they are closer to Russia, which is logical. Often both look at what's best for them, and this is the 'probem'. The west loves the albanians, not because of their culture or lack of it, but because they are the world's best vassals and obey orders without questions.

According to Dr. Neu, Macedonia need to set its own course, not put all their efforts into joining NATO. The country need to focus on its sovereignty, economy, strength and seek a neutral status.

ЗА МАКЕДОНИЈА СЕКОГАШ, ВО ПАРТИЈА НИКОГАШ!!!

VMRO-DPMNE quickly go from Fake Patriots to Traitors

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31609/1/

The saying "it's better to have a lion leading donkeys than a donkey leading lions" rings especially true these days in Macedonia.

Tomorrow EU's Commissioner Johannes Hahn arrives in Macedonia, with a clear goal in mind to legalize and finally complete the destruction of Macedonia, started in 2001. Hahn has a good working relationship with Nikola Gruevski. In 2016, the slick Austrian told Gruevski he needs to step down for a month, so they can organize elections with Hahn himself guaranteeing him he would be back as Prime Minister. Gruevski and his subpar "advisors" accepted the deal. The elections were delayed, delayed again, then postponed, and Gruevski has been out of his PM slot for over a year and a half. It's precisely what Brussels and Washington wanted, to remove Gruevski from the picture to weaken the party.

Our old pal and EU saboteur, Johannes Hahn is now once again visiting Macedonia. Considering the VMRO DPMNE leadership are donkeys, at this point no one really knows what else they are going to sign.

The goal since 2012 has been to prevent massive Russian and Chinese investments in the Balkans, however the investment connection is Athens, Solun, Skopje, Belgrade and Budapest. John Kerry had announced himself "Macedonia is in the line of fire". Out of these cities and their respected countries, Macedonia was picked as the weakest and a perfect place to break the connecting chain, thus all resources are focused on it since 2014. Hungary and Serbia are no go zones, while Greece will be rocked, but not as bad or as easy as Macedonia. From this, Hahn's mission is very clear. He needs to circumvent the Macedonian constitution, president Ivanov and the will of the people, and insert a criminal as a Prime Minister of Macedonia, and a terrorist as president of Macedonian Parliament.

This is where the demented VMRO-DPMNE comes into play. These idiots will sign anything, and have already shown us that, repeatedly. Przino Agreement 3 is coming this way. VMRO-DPMNE has read a proclamation that they will prosecute Soros NGOs and will no longer consider or sign any agreements drafted by a foreign party. However, Soros NGOs haven't been touched, let alone kiced out, while Gruevski is already discussing new agreements into play!

First, I personally know few MPs in VMRO-DPMNE. Would certainly not classify them as "traitors". However, to me, it is becoming apparent that the leadership in this party is being blackmailed and has done something illegal for them to "go along" with this nonsense.

VMRO-DPMNE is pressured to ignore the people, over 200,000 that protest daily. The party itself, ncluding leadership figures have been infiltrated by individuals who can best be described as quislings. This is well known for at least five years, yet some of these people have even become Ministers. Poposki and Jolevski are just the begining. A combination of this and the likelihood that leadership figures are compromised explains their repeated treasonous moves.

It also explains why no VMRO-DPMNE MP has been seen at any of the protests. If the party's rhetoric allegedly matches with that of the protesters, then why is the party not leading the charge? All we see are FakeBook posts by fake patriots within the VMRO-DPMNE. Each of their posts is full of energy and patriotism, yet everything they do in public is just the opposite!

According to my sources within the VMRO-DPMNE, the party will take Hahn's new Przino 3 agreement and will present it as their own. Allegedly, the party will keep their 'promise' of not considering or signing foreign agreements, so will try to fool everyone by taking Brussels' orders and present them as their own. Gruevski will likely present this "new agreement" next week. It's expected for the quislings within the VMRO-DPMNE leadership to pressure president Ivanov as well.

Once again, the people protesting will be ignored, but at what cost?

The Macedonians have a double threat in both the VMRO-DPMNE and SDS. No matter what agreement is made, the voice of the people protesting every day must be heard and they must be part of any agreements or negotiations. VMRO-DPMNE and SDS no longer represent the Macedonian people.

Commissioner Hahn Kicks off Talks with Political Leaders in Skopje

http://www.independent.mk/articles/42415/Commissioner+Hahn+Kicks+off+Talks+with+Political+Leaders+in+Skopje

Johannes Hahn, EU's Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, who is accompanied by three MEPs on his daylong visit to Skopje, has kicked off his series of talks with the leaders of the political parties in Macedonia.

"Skopje talks start. Need new government urgently for reforms. No time to lose! EU path open for Skopje after last EU Council but clock ticking. Need statesmanship instead of tactics. Economy hurting," Commissioner Hahn wrote on Twitter.

Hahn, Ivo Vajgl, Eduard Kukan and Knut Fleckenstein are first scheduled to meet with the president of Besa Movement, Bilal Kasami. Hahn's schedule also includes meetings with the leaders of the Alliance for Albanians, Zijadin Sela, of DUI Ali Ahmeti, of SDSM Zoran Zaev and of VMRO-DPMNE Nikola Gruevski. As previously reported, President Gjorge Ivanov has cancelled his meeting with Hahn.

The EU Commissioner and the three MEPs have arrived in Skopje in yet another attempt to find an agreement to put an end to the country's protracted crisis. The European officials are expected to reiterate the EU's firm line the outcome of the elections to be respected and democratic processes to be allowed to proceed, all the while urging a reform-oriented government to be formed as soon as possible, which will continue to implement the Przino Agreement. After Tuesday's meetings, Commissioner Hahn is expected to inform the public about his talks with the political leaders and the EU's position.

The man with dignity: Ivanov cancels meeting with Hahn

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31615/1/

President Gjorge Ivanov cancelled Tuesday his meeting with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn. Why? Because Ivanov is a man with dignity, unlike the rest of Macedonia's politicians.

According to the President's Office, EU Ambassador Samuel Zbogar was informed on Friday that a meeting with Commissioner Hahn and the three Members of the European Parliament was not on the President's agenda.

No need for a meeting

"President Ivanov has already presented his positions to Commissioner Hahn at their last meeting on February 10 and they remain unchanged. President Ivanov said clearly and unequivocally that he would not assign a government mandate unless there is public condemnation and rejection of the Tirana platform", reads the press release.

Since the meeting will not materialize, the Office says the President gives up the scheduled meeting slot to representatives of civil movement "For Joint Macedonia", who have asked for a meeting with Commissioner Hahn.

Meet with the people

"It is good for the Commissioner to get acquainted with the arguments and reasons for the protests of Macedonian citizens over the past three weeks", adds the press release.

Organizers, quite unorganized: Hahn arrives at 1pm, protest scheduled for 5pm

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31619/1/

Organizers for united Macedonia appear to be quite confused when they need to hold their protest. Despite the massive outpouring of people, instead of gathering at 1pm to coincide with the arrival of EU Commissioner Hahn, the organizers changed nothing from their normal routine and will hold the protest at 5pm?

Popular journalist Milenko Nedelkovski rightly asked the organizers where is the logic holding the protest at 5pm, why not hold it at 1pm, suggesting to organizers they should have blocked Hahn's arrival at the Airport, at the toill roads etc.

Nedelkovski is right, quite poor planning on th part of the organizers.

100,000 People gather in Macedonian capital to protest EU's Hahn Visit and illegal platform

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31620/1/

Over 100,000 people turned up in the Macedonian capital for a 22nd day of protests against the foreign platform, however the protesters came in full force to coincide the EU Commissioner visit to the country and their continued meddling in Macedonia's internal affairs.

The EU and Commissioner Hahn had attempted to resolve the artificially created political crisis, however, not just they didn't resolve it, but prolonged the crisis after the elections were delayed and postponed three times.

Journalist Vasko Popetreski posed a question to Hahn which remained unanswered. Is he truly a neutral player in all this?

Johannes Hahn is a man of flawed character which is likely why he is a EU Commissioner. He plagiarized his dissertation, was caught and subsequently lost his degree. From 1997- 2003 Hahn was part of Novomatic management board which very suspiciously received a license to operate casinos in Macedonia during SDS' reign. Novomatic still owns several casinos in Macedonia.

Hahn's business ties to the SDS are well documented, thus his insistence for Zaev to get the mandate isn't all that surprising.

EU's Hahn Leaves the same way he arrived, in a Hurry

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31623/1/

After meeting with representatives of political parties, EU's Commissioner Hahn abruptly left Macedonia, not a word to media, no press conference.

Macedonian president Gjorgje Ivanov refused to meet with Hahn, saying the two have already met and told him what he needed to know back in February.

Hahn on the other hand did not meet with DPA's Menduh Thaci because the long time DPA leader refused to participate in the sabotage which took place in Tirana and viewed the anti Macedonian platform negatively.

The Soros bot met with the leaders of BESA, DUI, SDS and VMRO-DPMNE.

Hahn also refused to meet with representatives of United Macedonia, which today numbered over 250,000. It was the biggest protest since 1991. Hahn is on the record saying the people and their protests don't matter, and they need to get used to platforms.

After Hahn wrapped up his meetings he quickly paced to a waiting car at Parliament's back entrance and was taken to the Airport.

VMRO-DPMNE: Early General Elections to Happen Anyway, Better We Do it Sooner

http://www.independent.mk/articles/42436/VMRO-DPMNE+Early+General+Elections+to+Happen+Anyway%2C+Better+We+Do+it+Sooner

VMRO-DPMNE said on Wednesday morning that early general elections will happen anyway in Macedonia, and that for the stability of the country, it is better if they are done sooner rather than later. The conservative party issued a press release following the round of meetings which European Commissioner Johannes Hahn had with party leaders on Tuesday.

"We need to take advantage to hold the early elections alongside the municipal elections and to do so in the shortest time frame possible, putting finally to rest the long running political crisis. It is clear that, under the circumstances that exist right now, it is not possible to end the crisis", VMRO-DPMNE said in its press release.

Commissioner Hahn called on President Ivanov to allow for the creation of a party led by the Social-Democratic SDSM party, but VMRO-DPMNE says that this would cheat the majority of citizens out of their votes, considering that it was only after the elections that SDSM accepted a list of nationalist Albanian demands known as the Tirana platform. VMRO-DPMNE condemned the pressures foreign countries have placed on Macedonia and called on the European Union to condemn the Tirana platform.

"At the meeting, VMRO-DPMNE representatives spoke openly of the external factors that contributed to the creation of the crisis, the unacceptable role and the meddling of several ambassadors in the coalition building process, the role of the Special Prosecutor that operates as a party branch of the SDSM and of several external centers and is meant to blackmail, pressure and silence politicians, journalists and media outlets. We spoke about the political fraud with the presentation of the Tirana platform only after the elections have concluded and the current deliberate attempts by SDSM to delay the municipal elections. There are centers of power intent on breaking and, if possible, eliminating VMRO-DPMNE, and then redefining the country, changing its name and identity, along a number of other additional issues. We thought it is important to present these facts to the EU representatives clearly, with no holding back, with specific facts, arguments and information, and to clarify some issues where they have been misinformed", VMRO-DPMNE said in its press release.

The conservative party also raised the fact that an SDSM led Government with ethnic Albanian parties would not represent the majority of ethnic Macedonian citizens, that violates the established political principle of a coalition between the largest parties of the two main ethnic groups. "The organizers of this plan have forgot that, besides politicians and parties, Macedonia also has a people, and the people will not accept a 'political rape' of its country and its will", VMRO-DPMNE adds in its press release, referring to the mass protests against the Tirana platform that have been going on for three weeks now.

Zaeviqi: If we go to Elections, we'd Gain more MPs

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31625/1/

Social-Democratic Union leader Zoran Zaev said on Wednesday that for him, holding early general elections are not a way out of the crisis, and he should be given the mandate to try and form a Government.

"If we saw a solution in early elections, we would have initiated that matter immediately. Again I say, if the parties win the same number of seats, or if there are more or less seats for SDSM or for VMRO-DPMNE, nothing will change. Gjorge Ivanov could again refuse to give the mandate. It is beside the point to call somebody to go to elections without saying what the reason for those elections is. I'm a reasonable man and politician and I believe that if I see arguments that lead to a solution, then all options would be open, but elections are not a solution", Zaev said.

VMRO-DPMNE asked for early elections because after the vote, SDSM adopted the so-called Tirana platform of demands by ethnic Albanian parties, and President Gjorge Ivanov refused to give Zaev the mandate saying that he would put Macedonia in a subservient position to a political platform made in Albania. According to VMRO-DPMNE, voters should be given another chance to approve or reject the Tirana platform, which calls for changes to the name and national emblems of Macedonia, introduces bilingualism and a set of other changes to the country, at the polls. Zaev responded on Wednesday that he has majority in Parliament now and that there needs to be a quick and democratic transfer of power.

"If we go to the elections, they (VMRO-DPMNE) will lose and we would have several seats more. But, Gjorge Ivanov could again deny us the mandate. The citizens and the international community expect a solution", Zaev said.

Currently in Parliament VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM are working with other parties to form the Committee on Elections and Appointments. Zaev said that he expects it will allow the election of a new Speaker of the Parliament, presumably supportive of SDSM, who would then ask President Ivanov to give the mandate to Zaev.

"There are no Tirana platforms or platforms of DUI or BESA or the Alliance or SDSM. There is nothing from all that. There is only a program for the future Government which in its preamble calls for a stronger unitary Macedonia with strict respect for the Constitution and our top priorities, NATO and the European Union", Zaev said, at the comments he made after he attended a meeting with public prosecutors investigating SDSM for manipulating with the 2016 elections. Zaev was asked by journalists about what could the European Union do if he does not get the mandate to form a Government, but he refused to speculate on their steps.

Macedonian Foreign Minister Attends US State Department Anti-ISIS Meeting

http://www.independent.mk/articles/42430/Macedonian+Foreign+Minister+Attends+US+State+Department+Anti-ISIS+Meeting

Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki, upon an invitation of US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, takes part Wednesday at the meeting of foreign ministers and senior leaders of the Global Coalition working to defeat ISIS.

"The meeting will focus on accelerating international efforts to defeat ISIS in the remaining areas it holds in Iraq and Syria and maximize pressure on its branches, affiliates, and networks", the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

FM Poposki is set to hold a number of bilateral meetings during the US visit.

TENS of thousands of angry protestors took to the streets of Macedonia after EU officials allegedly tried to meddle in the nation’s domestic politics.

ENOUGH OF EU: '50,000' Macedonians storm the streets against Brussels' domestic meddling (Photos - Video)
http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/782277/macedonia-protest-Skopje-Gjorge-Ivanov-eu-brussels-domestic-meddling

Wed, Mar 22, 2017 - Demonstrators took to the capital of Skopje chanting “Macedonia! Macedonia!" after Johannes Hahn, the EU commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy, reportedly rejected proposals to meet with nationalists.

Organisers of the protests claimed there were 42 rallies across the country, with one bitter group unravelling banners expressing their discontent with the EU chief along the route from the airport to the capital taken by Hahn.

Protestors from across the Balkans nation have taken place during the past 21 days, but organisers claimed 50,000 stormed the streets of Skopje on Tuesday.

Macedonia has ground to a political impasse following elections in December after the two largest parties did not scoop enough lawmakers to form a government.

The two largest parties would need to form a government with one from the ethnic Albanian minority, which is demanding Albanian be made the country’s second language.

Bogdan Ilievski, a protest organiser, said: "We've had enough of commissioners.

“The language we all understand is Macedonian and the (minority demand) is only aimed at breaking up the country. That's why we won't allow it to become the policy of any government."

The long-ruling conservatives have rejected the minority demand but has refused to give the Social Democrats a mandate to try to form a government until they do the same.

President Gjorge Ivanov – who did not meet with Hahn – claimed the language demands would leave the country’s character in tatters.

There are more than 250,000 ethnic Albanians in Macedonia – a quarter of the country’s population. Albanian is recognised as an official language in minority-dominated areas but not nationally.

The Balkans nation has been embroiled in a political crisis for the past two years, sparked by allegations of wiretapping and corruption.

Hahn in the footsteps of Mogherini, visit to Macedonia an epic debacle

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31635/1/

We understand that the EU is falling apart, we haven't seen Juncker sober since 2010, but what we witnessed with Mogherini and now Hahn can only be described as pure amateurism, childish behavior unlike we have ever seen.

First it was Mogherini who came with an agenda to force a country to do something, even though 85% of the country is telling her that her opinion and that of her bosses does not matter outside their office, certainly not in Macedonia. After receiving a cold shower in Macedonia, Mogherini was shut down, literally, in Serbia, where they didn't even let her speak. In Montenegro she spoke to empty chairs, while in Bosnia, she wasn't even allowed to visit! Epic debacle that would embarrass anyone that identifies themselves as human, except for Soros bot Federica Mogherini.

Next is Soros bot #2, Johannes Hahn, a controversial and corrupt EU official. The EU Commissioner invited himself to Macedonia, with no official protocol or agenda for the visit. Hahn believed a Government must be formed even though three 'minor' things are in the way: the winning party disagrees, the president will not issue a mandate and there are 200,000 people protesting every day against a foreign platform.

To make matters much worse for Hahn, president Ivanov served a humility notice and told the EU bureaucrat he will not meet him, no need for a meeting, his cabinet said.

In a manner of a street bully, Hahn showed up anyways. Despite having free time due to Ivanov's cancellation, Hahn refused to meet representatives of 85% of the Macedonian population! If you believe Commissioner Hahn has criteria or integrity, he doesn't, because in 2016 the Commissioner twice met with representatives of Soros NGOs in Macedonia.

With each visit and each statement Hahn lowered his IQ. According to the EU bureaucrat, the Tirana platform is not important, what is important is the fact that he thinks it's Zaev that needs to form a Government?!

Then we have the EU and US installed SPO which has entered every TV station and newspaper not under the control of Soros, USAid and western Embassies. Today, there is an actual document confirming that the EU bureaucrats are not interested in any reforms, rights, freedoms, but instead all they were doing over the past 8 years is to weaken Gruevski and to prepare the country for a coup and install an albanian PM to sell our name to Greece. Good lesson for Naive Inc, aka VMRO-DPMNE.

Hahn's statements have reduced himself to the level of Zoran Zaev, who as we know contradicts himself in the same sentence. Hahn has become the new village idiot who came to Macedonia to outwit our president?! Instead what he accomplished is to infuriate the public even more, and now it appears that may have been his goal?

Meanwhile, Macedonia is quite lucky to have intelligentsia along the likes of German Ambassador Christine Althauser. She met with DUI's Teuta Arifi and reported to media that she had a breakthrough: "Macedonia needs to form a Government with Zaev in charge, and then to think of all the problem facing the country" says Althauser.

The Germans apparently boil potatoes by first putting potatoes in, and then add the water later. We don't know how things function in Germany, but in Macedonia, before a new Government is elected, the old one remains in place. We do have a Government.

Interestingly enough, there has been no comments from Charles Garrett, the British saboteur who sacrificed two of his nationals in Kumanovo, one of them received a helicopter projectile...made the Queen proud.

Next step is for Mufti Merkel to float 'sanctions' against Ivanov and Gruevski. This scare tactic already attempted in 2014 was put through German media as a warning to Macedonia's leadership to play ball and not impede the destruction of their country. Yes, this will work as good as Hahn's visit.

German member of European Parliament condemns the Tirana platform

http://english.republika.mk/german-member-of-european-parliament-condemns-the-tirana-platform/

German Member of the European Parliament Michael Gahler, who also sits on the influential Committee on Foreign Affairs, told MIA that he condemns the Tirana platform of nationalist demands saying that it made the situation in Macedonia much more difficult politically. The platform, adopted by three parties that represent ethnic Albanians under the tutorship of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, asks for bilingualism, changing of Macedonia’s name and national emblems, veto rights for Albanians in public spending and a host of other issues.

“I would like to see someone in the European Union say a firm ‘no’ to this so-called platform. It is inappropriate, and made the situation more difficult for the actual minority group. We have cases inside the European Union where the majority population in a country gives a very generous offer to the minority, but the minority should also find a way to live with the majority, and without somebody counseling them from abroad”, Gahler told MIA. President Gjorge Ivanov refused to give the mandate to form a Government to SDSM leader Zoran Zaev after he accepted the Tirana platform as a condition to form his coalition.

Gahler, who comes from the ruling conservative CDU party, says that this interference of politicians from the Republic of Albania in Macedonian internal affairs is a consequence of the failure of NATO and the European Union to integrate Macedonia in time.

“All of the sudden, Albanian politicians are beginning to work with other Albanian representatives in a certain way in Macedonia. I think that this is a consequence of the fact that we failed to make you a member of the Union or of NATO. If you were on the inside, we would have handled these issues differently”, MEP Gahler said.

He insists that the process of Euro-Atlantic integration is still alive and in vogue, and locates most of the obstacles put in its place in Brussels and not in Skopje. “I would call on the Government, the opposition parties and the population not to lose sight and hope from the aspirations for Euro-Atlantic integrations, because you deserve that. You are a European country and your future is in both these institutions. Under normal circumstances, I believe you would have been inside by now, just like Croatia, Bulgaria or Romania. Greek authorities took some very difficult position and have tried to monopolize history”, Gahler told MIA.

Russian FM again warns EU to think of consequences for destabilizing Macedonia

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31637/1/

Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov denied that Russia is involved in activities in the Balkans that fall out of the normal, and called on Western countries to fully realize the danger of destabilization of Macedonia. It is the latest in a string of statements by the Russian Foreign Minister, who has warned against Western meddling in Macedonian internal politics.

"The current situation in Macedonia is slightly more complicated, I'd even call it a crisis, in many respects provoked artificially, which is leading to the situation when attempts are made to split the society", Minister Lavrov was quoted on Thursday by the Russian news agency Sputnik, which added that he expressed hope that "the West realizes the danger of such attempts". According to the agency, Lavrov said that it is strange that normal relations between Russia and Balkan countries are being seen as "provocative activity" and raise concerns in the West.

Sputnik reminds that earlier in March "the Russian Foreign Ministry described Macedonia’s opposition as 'openly backed by the European Union and the United States' and said that EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn, EU High Representative Federica Mogherini and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg exert 'unprecedented pressure' on Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov to make him give the prime minister’s post to the opposition". President Ivanov refused several calls by Mogherini and Commissioner Johannes Hahn to give the mandate to SDSM leader Zoran Zaev.

"Russia's Permanent Representative to OSCE Alexander Lukashevich urged earlier in March the cessation of foreign interference in the internal affairs of Macedonia", Sputnik adds.

Gruevski meets with Chinese Ambassador

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31633/1/

VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski and Chinese Ambassador to Macedonia Yin Lixien discussed Wednesday in Skopje on the political developments in the country, as well as the bilateral economic cooperation.

At the meeting VMRO-DPMNE pointed out that its rival SDSM accepted a broad set of measures - complied in a foreign country-designed platform and intended to turn into reality with the help of the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPO), whose objectives are purely political, the party said in a press release.

SPO, the party said, has become an instrument for political persecution against VMRO-DPMNE and for the benefit of SDSM.

'The people became aware of that, which is the reason of their revolt. At the same time the political instrument SPO has started to exert pressure on media that are not under SDSM control, which is yet another proof of the ulterior motive of its activities,' the press release reads.

VMRO-DPMNE told the Chinese Ambassador that two solutions were offered for ending the political crisis.

'The first one is - early parliamentary elections along with the local ones, which would enable SDSM to present all parts of the Tirana platform to its voters...The second one, aimed to evade the implementation of the Tirana platform, is our offer for all VMRO-DPMNE members of the parliament to support a minority SDSM-led government, which has not been accepted thus far,' the press release reads.

Gruevski and Ambassador Lixien expressed satisfaction with the upward trend in the economic cooperation between the two countries and agreed on the need of its advancing.

The reception that EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn received in Skopje this week illustrates the bloc's lack of popularity among Macedonians, Macedonian political analyst Cvetin Cilimanov told Sputnik.

Brussels 'Defeated' in Macedonia After Anti-EU Protests Sweep the Country (Video)
https://sputniknews.com/europe/201703241051922787-macedonia-anti-eu-protest/

Public opinion in the former Yugoslav Republic is turning against Brussels because of its support for a proposed government coalition with Albanian parties backed by Tirana. Many fear the "Tirana platform" will lead to the eventual federalization and possible break-up of the country.

Earlier this week, the EU's Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn traveled to Skopje where he held talks with political representatives in a bid to contribute to a solution to the political deadlock there.

However, his visit was greeted with protests by an estimated 200,000 Macedonians in Skopje and other cities, in which demonstrators called on Hahn to "respect the will of Macedonia" and condemned the Tirana Platform, an initiative sponsored by the Albanian government to increase Albanian influence in Macedonian politics.

"We are here to tell you that this nation will not accept the Tirana platform. That is the same as asking the US to accept the nuclear program of North Korea," protest organizer Darko Mijalkovski told the crowd.

In late December, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama invited the leaders of four Albanian parties in Macedonia to Tirana for a meeting at which they formulated a so-called "Tirana Platform," under the auspices of the Albanian government.

The four-pronged platform calls for the Albanian language to be granted official status in Macedonia, judicial reform, EU membership and NATO membership, DUI leader Ali Ahmeti told Dnevnik.mk.

The protest against the Tirana platform and the EU was organized by the group, "For a United Macedonia," whose request for a meeting with Hahn was refused. Protest organizer Bogdan Ilijevski addressed the EU commissioner.

"Hahn, instead of meeting with us, wrote on his Twitter account that the road to the EU remains open for Skopje. He did not mention the name of our country, but wrote Skopje instead. Well, Commissioner Hahn, Macedonia is not just Skopje. Macedonia is Bitola, Ohrid, Prilep, Kumanovo, as well, and all the other 43 cities and towns where tonight 200,000 people took to the streets," Ilijevski said, Independent.mk reported.

In turn, Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov refused to meet with Hahn, who had criticized the President's decision to refuse Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) leader Zoran Zaev a mandate to form a new coalition government. Zaev had gained Albanian support in return for concessions including the institution of Albanian as a second official language.

Ethnic Albanians are a majority in some western regions of Macedonia and their population has increased rapidly over the past century. According to a 1953 census, there were 870,000 Macedonians and 163,000 Albanians in the Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. In 2002, there were 1.3 million Macedonians and 509,000 Albanians.

The possible implementation of the Tirana platform has led to fears that Macedonia will become divided among ethnic lines and also prompted protests earlier this month in cities across Macedonia in support of the country's territorial integrity.

Last week, President Ivanov traveled to Hungary, where he met with Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban. Orban criticized foreign interference in Macedonian affairs and supported a call for new elections.

Macedonian political analyst Cvetin Cilimanov told Sputnik that the visit illustrates the EU's divisions on the issue and the failure of Brussels to constructively engage with Macedonia's political problems.

"After the support that Ivanov received from Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban, it became clear that the EU doesn't have a united position on how to get Macedonia out of this crisis," Cilimanov said.

"Neither Mogherini nor Hahn was able to do anything during their visit to Skopje, so I can agree that the EU's politics have been defeated here."

"When Hahn was in Skopje, leader of the DUI party Ali Ahmeti said that the two largest Macedonian parties (VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM) need to negotiate and that a government formed without the support of VMRO-DPMNE would not last long," Cilimanov said.

Earlier this month, Macedonian Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski told Croatia's HRT news network that the Albanian Platform represents a "coup" against Macedonia.

"This is a kind of coup, when a platform is brought into another country, in this case our country, Macedonia. When that platform is not presented to citizens before elections, when that platform is contrary to the country's constitution and when a politician who accepts that platform is blackmailed," Gruevski said.

On Friday, Gruevski's VMRO-DPMNE party called for new elections to solve the deadlock.

"The Tirana platform is unconstitutional and accepting it will plunge Macedonia into a process of federalization. This Tirana platform aims to destroy Macedonia and turn it from a multiethnic into a binational state … if he (Zaev) sees fit to accept and realize this platform, which affects the unitary character of the state, let him present it as his own election program," the party stated, Meta.mk reported.

The last parliamentary elections in December were a tight-run affair. The center-right VMRO-DPMNE won 51 seats, the largest proportion of any party in Macedonia's 120-seat parliament.

SDSM came in second with 49 seats, followed by the country's largest Albanian political party, the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), which got 10 seats.

Despite the high hopes placed on his administration, Trump has so far done nothing to move away from Obama's Hybrid War on Macedonia, thus lending further credence to Russia's warning that foreign powers are plotting to annihilate the country's statehood.

It's Time to Trust Russia, Not Trump, on Macedonia
https://sputniknews.com/columnists/201703031051238228-macedonia-trump-russia/

The Republic of Macedonia is once again mired in a political crisis, the country's third in as many years. The author covered the first one in 2015 and its sequel the year after in two of his Sputnik articles, so the reader should check them out if they need a background briefing about the specifics. To be concise, the US has been experimenting with a new political technology in the country, relying on the strategic leaking of manipulated and illegally procured wiretaps on Macedonian politicians, journalists, and private citizens in order stoke Color Revolution unrest against the government with the aim of destabilizing it and thus offsetting Russia and China's Balkan megaprojects of the Balkan/Turkish Stream gas pipeline and Balkan Silk Road high-speed railway, respectively, which are planned to crucially transit through the landlocked country.

Background Briefing - Zoran Zaev, the leader of the SDSM opposition, was tasked by the US with being the face of the anti-government movement, and his political supporters are characterized by their liberal-progressive beliefs in radical feminism and pro-homosexual legislation, which starkly put them at odds with Macedonia's conservative majority. This helps to explain SDSM's unpopularity over the past couple of years, a fact which even Zaev himself might have realized and which could have been the reason why he continually wanted to postpone the very same parliamentary elections which he had been agitating for over the past couple of years. Because of the unattractiveness of SDSM's socio-cultural leanings, the opposition knew that they wouldn't be able to beat the ruling VMRO party without getting some additional help, which is why they resorted to the dangerous game of identity politics by playing the "Albanian card".

Macedonia has a very sizeable Albanian minority, though the exact figures are disputable because the most recent census figures are from 2002. At the time that the Ohrid Framework Agreement (OFA) was signed in 2001, it was thought that approximately a quarter of all Macedonians were Albanian, though there are still concerns that even that number was inflated by the hundreds of thousands of Albanians which flooded into the country during the 1999 NATO War on Yugoslavia. OFA helped Macedonia narrowly avoid another repeat of the Kosovo scenario in violently carving out the World War II fascist-driven project of so-called "Greater Albania", and it guaranteed Albanians proportional representation in the country's government and society.

In the decade and a half since OFA was signed, however, Macedonians were granted the right to more freely travel all across Europe, and this is believed by some observers to have sparked an Albanian immigration wave to the EU and the consequent diminishment of this demographic in Macedonia. If this is indeed the case, then it would accordingly lead to less proportional representation for Albanians in Macedonia, which is why the census is such a highly charged topic nowadays. Be that as it may, the present political arrangement in the country is predicated on the presumption that at least 25 percent of Albanians are legal Macedonian citizens still residing in the country, and Zaev knew that he would have to tap into this demographic in order to boost his electoral odds against VMRO.

It's here where US Ambassador Jess Baily importantly comes into play.

Baily's Games - It's widely suspected that Ambassador Baily was instrumental in getting the Albanian minority to rally around SDSM instead of their traditional ethno-centric political parties, as has usually been the case in the country's post-Ohrid electoral history. This contributed to SDSM nearly winning the December parliamentary vote, much to the surprise of all observers who had discounted that possibility since they presumed that the Albanians would stick with their own political parties instead of switch over to SDSM. VMRO barely won the election, but wasn't able to form a government because its usual Albanian coalition partner, the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), stubbornly refused to work with the incumbent authorities unless they conceded to the radical demands of the so-called "Albanian Platform".

This agenda was formed in the Albanian capital of Tirana right after the elections when all of the Albanian Macedonian political parties were invited there by Prime Minister Edi Rama and ordered to promote certain policies in the country which would boost the prospects for "Greater Albania". One of these was the demand that all governing structures across Macedonia become bilingual, even in areas where there are no Albanians, which is unacceptable to VMRO and most Macedonians in general. The government is already abiding by the OFA, which has granted Albanians the best minority rights anywhere in the world. Macedonian patriots believe that the "Albanian Platform" is unnecessary and therefore really a thinly disguised plot to expand Tirana's influence over the country, dovetailing with the earlier so-called "Union of Albanian Municipalities" which was announced midway through last year.

All of this is threatening enough as it is, but it's all the more dangerous because Zaev hinted during the campaign that he would liberally interpret the OFA in order to give Albanians "more rights" if he wins, which some observers interpreted as a dog whistle to indicate his support for "Greater Albania" through the introduction of nationwide bilingualism and then later on the country's "federalization" (internal partition). Even worse, it's understood that these two steps would eventually come to involve a revision of the country's constitutional name from the Republic of Macedonia in order to satisfy Greece and guarantee Athens' swift support for Skopje's EU and NATO membership.

The "naming dispute", as it's commonly referred to, is a very complex issue, but it strikes at the heart of what it means to be Macedonian and is its peoples' most sensitive socio-political topic. It's popularly believed that if the country's name is changed, then this would eventually lead to the destruction of the Macedonian state, which is why it's so fiercely opposed by the vast majority of the population but appears to have the backing of Ambassador Baily, Soros and his shadowy network, and Zaev and his Albanian political cohorts.

Towards Another Balkan War? - Assuming that Trump even wanted to change this approach, he might realistically not be able to at this point because Obama opened up Pandora's Box through the electoral revival of Albanian nationalism in Macedonia, which might dangerously result in a resurgence of Albanian terrorism if their political demands aren't met. A terrorist cell was busted in May 2015 at the height of the first American-engineered destabilization against the country, and had it not been dismantled, it could have very well transformed the failed Color Revolution into an Unconventional War, thereby midwifing a violent Hybrid War in the Balkans. Russia is well aware of what's at stake, not just to it and its Chinese ally's infrastructural interests, but to regional stability as a whole, which is why Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MID) spokeswoman Maria Zakharova had this to say on Thursday:

"The West is using the Albanian minority in an attempt to bring to power in Skopje the defeated opposition, which approved the Albanian ultimatums leading to the erosion of the country's constitutional principles. The ongoing destructive attempts to impose schemes from the outside, contrary to the will of the Macedonian voters, can only aggravate the situation. It is necessary to stop foreign interference in the internal affairs of Macedonia, to respect the right of the Macedonian citizens to shape their own destiny in accordance with the fundamental democratic principles."

Her wise comments were followed by an alarming statement from MID, a portion of which said that:

We believe that this is extremely dangerous with an intention to annihilate Macedonian statehood and destabilize the entire Balkan region."

This echoed what Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had presciently warned in May 2015 after Albania and Bulgaria — both of which have historical (albeit presently unstated) claims to Macedonia — began to menacingly posture against their neighbor:

"It's been suggested now that Macedonia needs to be federalized even deeper, so as to turn into a flexible federation or perhaps a confederation, and ideas have even been aired as to why not dismember it as an artificial state, with part of it going to Bulgaria and another part to Albania."

Lo and behold, the exact same thing that Lavrov warned about became an attention-grabbing policy proposal in December 2016 when former British diplomat and Balkan expert Timothy Less began to lobby hard for a geopolitical redivision of the Balkans. His scandalous article for the influential Council on Foreign Relations neoconservative think tank advocated for the "federalization" (internal partition) of Macedonia as a precursor to the country's western annexation by Albania. California Congressman and chair of the House Foreign Affairs subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats Dana Rohrabacher channeled Less' proposal and took it a step further in February by outright declaring to Albanian media that "Macedonia is not a country… Kosovars and Albanians from Macedonia should be part of Kosovo and the rest of Macedonia should be part of Bulgaria".

Although many high hopes were placed on the Trump Administration, it has thus far disappointingly proven itself unwilling to stop Obama's Hybrid War on Macedonia and might even be preparing to intensify it. Even if Trump attempts to symbolically appease the masses and remove Baily from his Ambassadorship, this will only be a superficial change so long as the strategy of supporting "Greater Albania" via the "Albanian Platform" and Zaev remains in effect, which it probably will because the neoconservative "deep state" is still running most of America's foreign policy.

Even though many Macedonian patriots look up to Trump because of his conservative socio-economic policies and hypnotizing charisma, they would do well to remember that his ideology is "America First", and that right now at least, his "deep state" believes that destabilizing Macedonia as a means of stopping Russia and China's Balkan megaprojects would "Make America Great Again" in spite of all that the tiny country has hitherto done to cultivate excellent relations with the US, EU, and NATO since its independence.

Macedonians should instead start listening more to Russia, not Trump and his surrogates, since Moscow is proven to have been right all along and each of its warnings have fatefully materialized. That being said, no level-headed Macedonian wants MID's last scenario forecast to come true, which would result in the annihilation of Macedonian statehood and the destabilization of the entire Balkan region, so it's imperative that they begin putting their trust in Russia if they want their country to make it out of this American-provoked chaos in one piece.

Frei: Albanian PM Meddling in Macedonian Internal Affairs Unacceptable

http://www.independent.mk/articles/42488/Frei+Albanian+PM+Meddling+in+Macedonian+Internal+Affairs+Unacceptable

German Bundestag member Thorsten Frei (CDU) says it is unacceptable to impose political topics by foreign countries and politicians in Macedonia, MIA reports from Berlin.

In a comment to the so-called "Tirana Platform", Frei believes there should be no meddling of foreign politicians in internal affairs of other countries in the EU or the Western Balkans.

"In my experience, Albania has always had a constructive role in the region. However, it does not send a good signal when the country's prime minister wants to impose an Albanian platform through the parties of ethnic Albanians in Macedonia. This is unacceptable. Current political challenges are Macedonia's internal problem and issues should not be imposed by other countries", says Frei, a member of the Bundestag foreign affairs committee.

He adds that Macedonia needs to undertake measures towards increasing the level of integration of all citizens within the society.

"For the sake of truth, the Ohrid Framework Agreement has not helped the increased integration of Albanians in Macedonian society in recent years. I believe a deciding factor in the future is to achieve higher integration in society, so that all citizens can identify themselves with Macedonia. This is a task for everyone in the country and the region. Germany provides support by promoting cooperation, which should reduce the threat of divisions", says the German MP.

Regarding the future of Macedonia and the region in the EU, Frei says the Union must instill trust among future members that obligations must be fulfilled, while regional countries need to overcome all open issues in order to resume on the EU path.

"It is in EU and Germany's best interest to support the Western Balkans in becoming members. It should be clear that if the Copenhagen Criteria are met, then EU accession follows. To me, this is a issue that affects EU's credibility. However, many countries on the Western Balkans still have problems that need to be overcome. There is constitutional crisis in Macedonia that prevents the formation of a government since the December elections. The situation is complicated, but we should take the best out of the election results and respect the will of the Macedonian people", says Frei.

Regarding Greece's hindering of Macedonia's EU and NATO integration, Frei stresses that Macedonia needs to overcome its internal problems, followed by EU's increased pressure on Greece.

"It is a matter of law, but also moral, if Macedonia or any other Western Balkan state cannot join the EU while meeting criteria", adds Frei.

He expressed hope there would be no conflicts in Macedonia because the country has the potential to overcome problems. However, he urges all politicians to use caution in preventing any internal or inter-ethnic conflict.

Special Report
Macedonia to George Soros and USAID: Go Away

https://spectator.org/macedonia-to-george-soros-and-usaid-go-away/

Here’s an opportunity for President Trump and Secretary Tillerson to pay some serious attention.Small but mighty Macedonia is the mouse that roared this year, declaring war on George Soros, 86, and his U.S. Government handmaidens, who, incredibly, have financed a left-wing agenda to divide the nation and bring a socialist-Muslim coalition to power.

It was the kind of Obama Administration manipulation that was so routine that it passed unnoticed in 2012, when USAID/Skopje selected Soros’ Foundation Open Society Macedonia (FOSM) to manage $2.5 million in taxpayer dollars earmarked for oxymoronic “democracy building,” an amount increased to $4.8 million two years later.

As we speak, and yes, I mean currently, Macedonia’s Open Society Foundation is a USAID partner recruiting candidates for “Youth Engagement Support (YES) grants” — concept papers were due five days after Donald J. Trump’s inauguration. It’s some part of a $9.5 million, five-year “civic engagement” boondoggle kicked off last year, which surely would be squelched if the Tillerson State Department were running on all cylinders.

Collusion between the Hungarian-American billionaire and the U.S. against Macedonia’s national interest is outlined on the website, StopSoros.mk, launched in late January by journalists in Skopje, the capital city and, incidentally, birthplace of Mother Teresa.

Over the last three weeks, inspired by the Trump Revolution, tens of thousands of Macedonians have held peaceful rallies for national unity, an end to chaos-creating Soros/USAID largess, and the removal of the U.S. Ambassador. One of the most common posters is a black and white, “No Soros Government.”

Macedonia’s plight has caught the attention of Capitol Hill: six Republican House members wrote to U.S. Ambassador Jess Baily on January 17, quizzing him about “disturbing reports” that the U.S. Mission “actively intervened” in domestic politics to promote “parties, media, and civil society groups of the center left.” They followed up with the Government Accountability Office, requesting an investigation. Last week, six Republican Senators directed a similar letter to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Unfortunately, conservative Members of Parliament from Macedonia have trouble finding Administration interlocutors to listen to their complaints — though several have flown to D.C. over the last three weeks to brief anyone who will listen. (USAID, they consider an utterly lost cause.)

Paging Mr. Trump

“Soros was Clinton and Clinton was Soros in the Balkans,” explained an agitated Macedonian MP, member of the Christian democratic VMRO-DPMNE party (commonly known as VMRO, pronounced VOOM-row), cooling his heels last week in a Dupont Circle cafe.

“Soros was Obama and Obama was Soros,” added the MP, who asked not to be named.

He fanned a stack of papers on the table before me, eager to make two well-documented points: First, Macedonia, the only nation to escape Yugoslavia without war, has been led by VMRO’s pro-growth, low-tax, family-values government for the last 11 years.

Macedonia is currently ranked #10 in the World Bank’s “Ease of Doing Business” standings, higher than any other Central or Eastern European country — and just two places below the U.S. Five years ago, the Financial Times lauded VMRO for introducing a 10% flat tax on personal and corporate taxes, the lowest in Europe.

Besides being fiscally conservative, the nation of 2.1 million is socially conservative. Macedonia is the only European country where restrictions on abortion have tightened. Since 2013, a waiting period and personal counseling is required when a woman seeks abortion; the government runs a multimedia public service campaign, “Choose Life!”

“We became a Soros target because we’re a conservative nation,” the politician ruefully observed.

Wordy but historical, VMRO-DPMNE refers to the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization (VMRO) an 1893 movement for autonomy within the Ottoman Empire, updated in 1990 as Democratic Party for Macedonian National Unity (DPMNE), when the center-right party was founded in newly independent Macedonia.

Second, the MP’s file demonstrates, rather than applauding Macedonia’s progress — or at least, leaving it alone — U.S.-funded programs have provoked Saul Alinsky-style violence and ethnic division, inspiring a political crisis since 2015 as well as the empowerment of VMRO’s only political rival, the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM), a socialist party led by Zoran Zaev, who has close ties to the Soros network extending beyond his homeland.

“It’s still going on, despite the new Administration!” the clean-cut, 40-something, MP exclaimed, waving a copy of the Soros/USAID YES grants Request for Proposals in my face.

“Awaiting Hillary Clinton’s coronation, they extended this fusion between Soros and the U.S. Government through 2021!”

Inviting me to consider what it means to pour $6-$7 million, Soros’ estimated annual budget for Macedonia, into a country of some two million people, the distraught man attracted attention from neighboring tables when he bellowed, “They are destroying my country!”

Hoping my new friend was exaggerating, I contacted several smart, reasonable, conservative analysts in Macedonia and a few in the U.S. who travel there frequently. All agree: Not only has the U.S. played negative, counterproductive games in Macedonia, they report our foreign policy has destabilized the country and promoted Islamic extremism.

U.S. goals are so unsavory to the majority Orthodox population that many are beginning to look toward Russia as a more sympathetic — not to mention Christian — ally.

Non-Electoral Tactics for Gaining Power

A fascinating 1995 New Yorker article describes how, and why, Soros jumped into newly independent Macedonia with both feet.

Unconvinced by Bulgarians who say there’s no such thing as a Macedonian ethnic group (Macedonians and Bulgarians speak virtually the same language; Macedonia was controlled by Bulgaria intermittently from the tenth century until 1918) and resentful of the Greek government’s efforts to snuff out the tiny country over its name (Athens imagines Macedonia has territorial designs on its northern region, known as Macedonia), Soros was enamored with the country’s first post-Communist president, Kiro Gligorov, a top boss under Marshall Josip Broz Tito, who competently staked out the country’s independent course.

With a sizable Albanian minority of some 25% of the population (at least, that was the percentage in 2002 when the last census was taken), Soros considered Macedonia a valuable example of a viable multiethnic nation in a region where ethnicity has been Hellishly weaponized. The foundation’s early programs concentrated on inter-ethnic relations and media development, then broadened to include Soros passions such as LGBT activism and “sex worker” rights, minority views with little popular support in a country where the majority is quietly devoted to the Macedonian Orthodox Church, an unloved stepchild, still claimed by the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Soros’ preferred policies had zero traction as long as VMRO held power. Having controlled the unicameral legislative branch 1992-1998 and 2002-2006, the socialists lost consecutive parliamentary elections to VMRO in 2006 and 2008. It won seats in 2011 after provoking a parliamentary crisis that brought early elections. SDSM saw the advantage of using bullying tactics to gain power and turned to its friends in the burgeoning civil society world for a longer-term strategy.

As the New Yorker’s prescient reporter, Connie Bruck, observed over 20 years ago, “[T]he problem with Soros is the extremity of his views — his tendency to beatify one side and demonize the other — and the way in which that’s reflected in his activism.”

Macedonian Information Agency editor, Cvetin Chilimanov, age 38, watched as FOSM beatified SDSM and demonized VMRO.

“The Soros foundation has always been partisan but it became completely supportive of the Social Democrat party over the last four or five years,” Chilimanov explained. “Very openly, to the point that about 50 groups funded by Soros meet regularly with SDSM representatives; they call it a coalition between party and citizens, to organize joint protests, coordinate talking points, and coordinate joint positions of attack on the conservatives.”

“It’s been a five-year campaign to bring down the conservative government,” Chilimanov summarized, a timeline that coincides with USAID’s 2012 cooperative agreement with FOSM to foment “civic activism,” “fertilizing grassroots actions,” and “greater CSO [civil society organization] mobilization,” to use USAID’s somewhat ominous boilerplate.[10] To provide guidance, FOSM translated Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals,” a manual teaching social change through conflict, Chilimanov confirmed.

A 2014 FOSM internal document that surfaced via DCLeaks last year offers a small window on Soros entities as U.S. Government pick pockets: Metamorphosis, a foundation spun off by FOSM staff in 1999, and funded by the Soros Mother Ship, is listed as receiving funds from three USG funding streams, USAID, the U.S. Embassy, and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

What exactly does this group do? God only knows. Its website loftily reports, “Metamorphosis mission is to contribute to the development of democracy and increase the quality of life through innovative use and sharing of knowledge. Our guiding values are openness, equality and freedom.” So they do whatever they want with our money, and it must have been a success, since Metamorphosis is one of the four local groups, including FOSM, that received a $9.5 million earmark from USAID last year.

“Ten years ago, USAID was a normal organization supporting schools and water supply systems,” observed the MP visiting Washington, D.C. “Under Obama’s ideological programs, it became the super crack of the Left.”

It’s all a rich joke on the American taxpayer: as we transferred millions to Soros’ destructive projects abroad, he stiffed the U.S. Treasury: It was widely reported in 2015 that George Soros owed the Internal Revenue Service approximately $6.7 billion and there’s no evidence he ever settled the debt.

Judicial Watch submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the State Department last month to scrutinize collusion between Soros, USAID, and the U.S. Embassy: The document lists 29 organizations, Soros clones, that have implemented Soros/USG strategy.

Politics of Mobilization

Not surprisingly, mobilization and protest became the opposition’s modus operandi in the spring of 2015, when Zoren Zaev, SDSM’s leader, produced phone recordings that allegedly revealed VMRO corruption — the governing party denied wrongdoing and called the tapes dubious. The well-trained activists came out to the streets.

Protests were replete with photogenic moments, designed to go viral, such as a seasoned NGO professional applying her lipstick, using a police shield as a mirror. Opposition claimed 100,000 demonstrators while state sources reported more like 10,000.

Meanwhile, in the midst of the wiretapping scandal came evidence that radical elements of the Albanian minority are a constant threat: extremists from neighboring Kosovo clashed with Macedonian security forces in a northern town, leaving eight officers and 14 civilians dead — the first fatalities due to ethnic violence in Macedonia in 14 years.

Last March, the Macedonian government boldly closed its border to prevent the tsunami of economic migrants and refugees surging from Greece toward Western Europe, allowing restricted numbers to enter. Open borders is one of George Soros’ most keenly felt priorities. How did his Team respond? Activism! With an admixture of violence and vandalism.

Ostensibly protesting pardons extended to 56 politicians by VMRO President Gjorge Ivanov, which he soon retracted, the socialist party and its well-trained “Soros Army” (as some professionally printed T-shirts actually declared) employed paint guns, slingshots with paint-filled balloons, and eggs to denigrate, albeit colorfully, public buildings and monuments.

The fertilized grassroots also broke into the president’s office, vandalized property, and burned office furniture. Three policemen were injured.

Filip Stojanovski, Metamorphosis’ program director and main man, maintains a Twitter profile pic (@razvigor) obscured by bright paint splats — an overt reference to his glory days during last summer’s “Colorful Revolution,” as it is known.

“I heard Soros and SDSM activists chanting, ‘No Justice, No Peace,’ which isn’t even a meaningful slogan in Skopje,” recalled Cvetin Chilimanov. “The transfer of tactics from U.S. Left-wing groups funded by Soros to Macedonia is striking.”

Simultaneously, the government had to defend its southern border with Greece, while diverting security forces 100 miles away from Skopje, to defend property against political agitators.

The traveling MP remembers, “It was a nightmare. The Soros army threw rocks at police guarding VMRO headquarters. Meanwhile, they were handing scissors out on the border to help people cut fences. Chaos.”

Information Service editor Chilimanov considers last summer’s melee to signal George Soros’ deepest objectives: “By controlling Macedonia, he can open or close the flow of migrants. The far Left Greek government has accepted no end of migrants. [Soros is close to the Greek Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras.] It was our government that stopped the flow so his grand objective is to control this situation.

External Intervention

In an excellent account of Macedonia’s political situation over the last two years, “Macedonia’s Crisis isn’t Going Away,” in this month’s issue of the American Interest, Chris Deliso, an American journalist and author who lives with his family in Skopje, writes, “Since 2015 in particular, active U.S. diplomacy has not only failed to resolve Macedonia’s political crisis, but it has in fact prolonged it, with every initiative (both covert and overt) having backfired in some way.”

Having helped position SDSM for a return to power, as a result of investments in its media and civil society infrastructure, the U.S. began shaping the process of creating the next government.

Deliso thinks the U.S. Government “could have just sat this one out.” In light of its extensive investments in the NGO superstructure, which is an investment in the SDSM party, there’s no way the State Department was going to stay on the sidelines.

Victoria Nuland, Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs, became prominently involved last summer in political negotiations toward parliamentary elections, ostensibly a neutral diplomatic role. She was clearly stirring the pot, though, announcing as she left in July, “Today, I met and talked with civil activists and journalists and encouraged them to continue with the work they are doing.”

Rescheduled from April to June to December, parliamentary elections were finally held on December 11, yielding a slight two-seat majority for VMRO over SDSM, 51-49. To form a governing majority 61 seats are necessary, so VMRO turned to its 2011-2016 partner, the Albanian Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), with ten seats. But DUI turned its back on its old VMRO ally, looking outside the country’s borders for guidance.

VMRO was to be frozen out of the election it had just narrowly won.

A new actor came onstage: Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, leader of the Socialist Party of Albania — so close to George Soros, he attended the billionaire’s third wedding, in 2013. Rama and his Foreign Minister gathered Macedonia’s three largest Albanian political parties, which together have 18 seats, forging a new alliance, outlined in the so-called Tirana Platform. It’s a provocation from top to bottom, calling for Albanian as an official language at all levels of government (“full linguistic equality”), alluding to ethnic “nation building” as a legitimate goal, and calling for basic matters of national identity to be renegotiated including the country’s name, coat of arms, anthem, and flag.

SDSM leader Zoran Zaev adopted the Tirana Platform and obtained support — and 18 seats — from the three Albanian parties on February 25, declaring that he expected President Ivanov to give him the mandate that would make him Prime Minister. But on March 1, the president clapped back, denying Zaev a mandate because “his program advocates the destruction of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence.”[29]

Hence…daily rallies and organized strolls, around the country, featuring the signs of a lively, proud nation: Macedonia’s yellow sunburst on a red field, boys and girls in traditional costumes, a Robert Putnam-ian assortment of old-school NGOs such as handball leagues, dance troupes, and scouts.

Jason Miko, an American businessman who spends extensive time in Macedonia, highlighted that the Tirana Platform is “just an ethnic platform, with nothing about creating jobs” in a country where exclusive focus on ethnicity has led to war.

“This is what’s happening,” Miko said. “Low-level State Department bureaucrats are calling the shots because the President hasn’t been able to fill key jobs on the seventh floor. There is no oversight. They are telling the U.S. Ambassador to pressure Ivanov to give the mandate to Zaev.”

He continued, “In my opinion, this directly contradicts what President Trump said in his Inaugural address, that we want to let other nations put their own interests first. Instead, in Macedonia, we have an activist ambassador, Jess Baily, working with and funding the Soros organizations saying that no, you don’t have a right to put your own interests first.”

“What we really need from Washington is an adult in the Administration to stand up and say, ‘No, the Macedonians are going through their process, they know their constitution, and let the Macedonians take their process forward. That is what we really need from some senior official in Washington, DC.”

Since average people are shut out of process for now, they’ve displacing Soros activists in the street.

“What’s most important about these very calm gatherings is, they are regular people, from old to young,” observed Chris Deliso. “This is a simple, conservative society of people who know who they are. They don’t like to be looked down as second class Europeans.”

The author continued, “Something had to change and the Tirana Platform has galvanized people who were cynical until now about the value of their own preferences in their own country.”

Deliso says the political funding he has witnessed “just alienated one side of the country — the majority — and emboldened the other side to become more irresponsible. I’ve talked to people who work at USAID and always argued, either give equal funding to both sides or give no funding at all. Obviously, they haven’t listened.”

U.S. Interfered In Macedonia’s Political Process, Documents Show

http://dailycaller.com/2017/03/26/u-s-interfered-in-macedonias-political-process-documents-show/

Lawmakers are currently looking into interference by a nation-state with another country’s political process.

This is not in reference to the House and Senate Intel Committees’ investigation into Russian interference in the U.S. presidential election, though. Instead, several Republican senators and congressmen are inquiring about a partnership in Macedonia between the U.S. government and a foundation started by liberal mega-donor George Soros.

Letters have been sent by lawmakers to the Government Accountability Office, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and the U.S. Ambassador to Macedonia Jess Baily. In a January letter to Baily, Republican Utah Sen. Mike Lee wrote: “I have received credible reports that, over the past few years, the US Mission to Macedonia has actively intervened in the party politics of Macedonia, as well as in the shaping of its media environment and civil society, often favoring groups of one political persuasion over another.”

This past Monday, Baily — a career diplomat — visited Washington and met with Sen. Lee and his staff, a spokeswoman told The Daily Caller. Lee’s office did not elaborate on what occurred during the meeting.
While Lee just referenced “credible reports” in his January letter, he and five other Republican senators, including Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Georgia Sen. David Perdue, got into more specifics in their March letter to Tillerson. There they referenced the direct grants given by USAID to George Soros’ Open Society Foundations.

While many of the claims of Russian interference in the U.S. presidential election rely on alleged hacking operations, the American campaign in Macedonia is out there in the open.

USAID, which is responsible for doling out civilian foreign aid, has officially partnered with the Open Society Foundations. Since 2012, the government agency has given $1.5 million in grants to organizations chosen by the Foundation Open Society – Macedonia (FOSM) and $4.8 million to launch a “Civil Society Project” implemented by FOSM.

Just last August, USAID announced a nearly $9.5 million program that would last until 2021 and would be administered in partnership with FOSM, Metamorphosis, the Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI), and the National Youth Council of Macedonia. Metamorphosis was launched in 1999 by the Open Society Foundations and has since become independent.

These millions of dollars are being spent in a small southern European nation with a little over 2 million citizens and a GDP per capita 11 times smaller than the U.S.

The report released by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in January regarding Russian interference in the U.S. election contained about a page of content on the hacking of Democratic Party institutions and individuals, and seven pages on the Kremlin-funded Russia Today news network.

Then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said during a senate hearing that, “RT was very active in promoting a particular point of view, disparaging our system, our alleged hypocrisy about human rights, etc. Whatever crack, fissure they could find in our tapestry, they would exploit it.” In that same hearing Clapper called for the U.S. to have a state media program “on steroids” overseas to fight against this.

It turns out that much of the money given in grants in Macedonia ended up supporting news outlets which promoted a political stance, thus equaling the U.S.’ standard for political interference in another country’s election. Four outlets in Macedonia — A1on, Plusinfo, Potalb and Okno — are directly tied to FOSM, according to the group’s own annual report which stated these outlets receive millions of pageviews. In addition, FOSM and USAID are “partners” with Macedonia’s Media Development Centre.

A 2012 call for grants for the USAID’s “Civil Society Project,” also mentions “use of new media.”

The opposition to Soros’ influence in Macedonia is led by the conservative ruling party VMRO-DPMNE. A VMRO member of parliament told The American Spectator that Soros’ foundation was behind protests that broke out in spring of 2016. “It was a nightmare. The Soros army threw rocks at police guarding VMRO headquarters. Meanwhile, they were handing scissors out on the border to help people cut fences. Chaos,” the member of parliament said.

This reference to a “Soros Army” is quite literal as protesters wore shirts that read “Soros Army.” A Feb. 24 letter sent to the Government Accountability Office and signed by six Republican congressmen asked about U.S. funding of media in Macedonia and whether funds supported violence. The GAO has not responded back to the congressmen’s inquiry.

VMRO won a plurality of the votes in Macedonia’s 2016 parliamentary elections, however, the liberal SDSM party formed a coalition with the ethnic Albanian DUI party to gain a majority of parliament. This deal with the Albanian party would mean making Albanian an official language and possibly changing the nation’s flag, coat of arms, and national anthem.

The Macedonian member of parliament told the American Spectator, “They are destroying my country!” The VMRO party and its supporters have protested against these proposed actions, with the current President Gjorge Ivanov refusing to give the opposition leader a mandate to form a government.

Zaev Believes Parliament Session Will Pave Way for SDSM-led Government

http://www.independent.mk/articles/42569/Zaev+Believes+Parliament+Session+Will+Pave+Way+for+SDSM-led+Government

Zoran Zaev, leader of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) said that he expects to form a Government following the latest steps to complete the constitutive Parliament session. In an interview with Serbian Danas daily, Zaev said that he expects that the Parliament majority he put together will elect a Speaker, who will then call on President Gjroge Ivanov to give him the mandate to form a Government.

"The Parliament and President Ivanov can't block democratic processes. I have to get the mandate considering that I have the signatures of 67 members of Parliament out of 120. They represent 700,000 citizens. The majority will of the citizens is clear and it was expressed at credible elections and now we need a quick and peaceful transfer of power. Everybody who wishes well to Macedonia will support these democratic processes and so does the domestic and international democratic public", Zaev said, referring to calls from European diplomatic chief Federica Mogherini who urged that Zaev should get the mandate.

In an interview with Kanal 5 TV Zaev tried to allay worries that his coalition, which would leave a majority of ethnic Macedonian voters and members of Parliament in the opposition, will not jeopardize Macedonian national interests. Zaev said that he remains strong in support of the Macedonian ethnic identity, and that he still hasn't negotiated with the Albanian coalition partners over the divisive and controversial Tirana platform. The platform, put together under the mentorship of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, calls for changing the name, flag and national emblems of Macedonia, full bilingualism and veto powers over public spending for Albanian parties. VMRO-DPMNE rejected the platform, while Zaev said that he is positively disposed to discussing the issues, but hasn't done so because he still doesn't have the mandate to form the Government. So far, Zaev agreed to push through a law on full bilingualism and official use of the Albanian language, that was the condition put forward by Albanian parties to support his Government.

VMRO-DPMNE responded with a press release saying that only early elections, at which the Tirana platform will be put before the voters, can bring stability and a way out of the political crisis. VMRO-DPMNE pointed out to the spate of recent arrests of drug dealers who apparently knew and communicated with Zoran Zaev as evidence that SDSM is a criminalized party whose leader is blackmailed by ethnic Albanian parties and sees forming a Government as the only way out for himself. "VMRO-DPMNE understands the concern of the hundreds of thousands of citizens who protest each day. The people feel insulted and duped by SDSM, which was running on a 'plan for better life' at the elections, and after the elections is implementing a plan for demolition of Macedonia, based on the unconstitutional Tirana platform", VMRO-DPMNE wrote in the press release.

SDS nominates UCK's Talat Xhaferi for Parliament Speaker

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31669/1/

SDS has filed a motion supported by 20 MPs for the election of a Parliament Speaker because the debate on the election of a chairperson and members of the Committee on Election and Appointment Issues has become pointless.

MP Petre Silegov told a press conference that former UCK member Talat Xhaferi of DUI is their candidate for Parliament Speaker.

"The only role of this committee was to put forward a candidate for Parliament Speaker. Since the debate has become pointless, there is no need to go on any further with this item on the agenda", said Silegov.

He urged VMRO-DPMNE MPs to stop with the Parliament's obstruction by continually replying to themselves and allow the parliamentary majority to elect a Speaker.

Silegov stressed they would use all options available in order to prevent VMRO-DPMNE from actions that violate the Parliament's Rules of Procedure.

VMRO-DPMNE leader Gruevski reiterates call for snap poll

http://english.republika.mk/vmro-dpmne-leader-gruevski-reiterates-call-for-snap-poll/

A government intending to implement the so-called ‘Tirana platform’, designed in a foreign country, cannot be a reform-oriented but one to work against the state interests, VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski wrote Sunday on his Facebook profile.

The fact that SDSM and its leader Zoran Zaev refuse the support of VMRO-DPMNE 51 MPs if they abolish the platform is an indication that ‘the scenario is rather serious and a lot is at stake’, Gruevski says.

He considers that SDSM is the platform’s hostage, while the state is blackmailed by and victim of Zaev and some members of his party leadership, who see ‘all of these as an opportunity to salvage their careers and walk free from criminal charges.

‘During the process, they act as if there are no citizens in the country or as if they don’t matter. They forget that parties exist because of the citizens and state, not vice-versa. Streets across the country have been crowded with people voicing their dissatisfaction – clear indicator that SDSM policies are doomed to failure. It is impermissible in this country to not consider the citizens’ voice on the vital matters related to the states basic symbols and make decisions on the basis of an inter-party agreement of just a few, instead of a program approved by citizens at elections. It is called an election fraud’ Gruevski says.

Citizens and their interests are VMRO-DPMNE’s priority, Gruevski says, pointing out that fresh snap poll is the only realistic, logical way out of the political crisis – a referendum for the country’s future.

Parliament Continues Debate on Appointments Committee and Tirana Platform Controversy

http://www.independent.mk/articles/42608/Parliament+Continues+Debate+on+Appointments+Committee+and+Tirana+Platform+Controversy

VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM continued their dispute in the Macedonian Parliament over the vote on the Committee on Elections and Appointments. It is a key step toward the election of a new Parliament Speaker, but the two parties, like on Monday, engaged in a dispute over the controversial Tirana platform instead.

Goran Misovski from the SDSM allied NSDP party asked Speaker Trajko Veljanoski to allow a vote on their proposal to have Talat Xhaferi elected as Speaker, instead of waiting for the procedure on the Committee on Elections and Appointments. Antonio Miloshoski from VMRO-DPMNE asked that the Parliament continues working under the established order, and first votes on the Committee and then on the new Speaker. SDSM and DUI agreed to jointly propose Talat Xhaferi from DUI as the new Speaker, even though the proposal was met with rejection in BESA, one of the parties that SDSM is counting on to prop up a future Government coalition.

VMRO-DPMNE and BESA indicated that they too will have their own candidates for Speaker, with VMRO-DPMNE insisting that as the party that won the most votes in the elections, the seat belongs to them. Magdalena Manaskova from VMRO-DPMNE told the Parliament that they can't ignore the up to 200,000 who have taken to the streets in three weeks of protests against nationalist Tirana platform, that an SDSM led Government would implement, that calls for changing of the name and the national emblems of Macedonian and a series of concessions to ethnic Albanians that go beyond the 2001 Ohrid framework agreement. During the often heated debates, Artan Grubi from DUI denied that the platform is a foreign document, and insisted that it was prepared and written in Macedonia, by the representatives of ethnic Albanian parties from Macedonia. The three parties, DUI, BESA and the Alliance of Albanians also held meetings in Tirana with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, as well as in Pristina.

This foreign meddling is the reason President Gjorge Ivanov has refused to give SDSM leader Zoran Zaev the mandate to form a Government that would work to implement the Tirana platform.

BESA wants parity with DUI to enter SDS led Government

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31679/1/

The BESA party announced it will not support Talat Xhaferi's nomination as Speaker of Parliament, after his name was jointly put forward by SDSM and DUI. BESA is one of the three parties representing ethnic Albanians that support the idea of having SDSM leader Zoran Zaev get the mandate to form the next Government, but its intense rivalry with DUI and its hopes of making further inroads among ethnic Albanian voters at DUI's expense have announced the relationship in the possible future coalition will be tricky.

"If it is up to a DUI candidate to begin the first step toward reforms, then thank you, but we do not support such reforms. This party served Nikola Gruevski faithfully for ten year and are them main culprits for the crisis. DUI is responsible for staged political processes, poverty, emigration, distancing from the Euri-Atlantic integrations, the Skopje 2014 project. DUI can't bring reforms to the country", said Afrim Gashi, BESA member of Parliament.

SDSM has 49 seats in Parliament, and DUI has 10, while BESA has five. The Alliance of Albanians added three more votes to the possible coalition. SDSM needs 61 votes in Parliament to elect a Speaker and a Government. BESA still hasn't made it clear whether it will join the Government, with its leader Bilal Kasami indicating that if it is to be in the Government, it will want parity with DUI in the division of departments.

BESA won over a significant number of DUI supporters and propelled itself to second place among parties that represent ethnic Albanians in its first general election. It seems eager to remain in the opposition and target DUI from the outside to improve its standing for the municipal elections that should be held in the Spring, or if there is agreement to hold early general elections as VMRO-DPMNE has requested.

Jason Miko: The Ongoing Attack on Macedonia’s Identity

http://www.independent.mk/articles/42677/Jason+Miko+The+Ongoing+Attack+on+Macedonias+Identity

Two things this week, the first on the subject of identity and the second on the battle in Washington, DC on issues related to Macedonia. First, and over the years, I have written often about issues involving names and identity and specifically Macedonia’s name and identity. Today, I need to address this once again as the attack on the Macedonian identity and name continues. The latest attack was from EU-negotiator Ivo Vajgl who is threatening President Ivanov and other leaders in Macedonia with financial sanctions unless they cave in and agree to allow Zoran Zaev to form a government based on the Tirana Platform – a platform that is based exclusively on ethnic issues related to Albanians and excludes any mention whatsoever of the things that are most important to all of Macedonia’s ethnic groups and citizens – jobs. The second attack was from “SENIOR eurocrats” who “have secretly promised the leader of Macedonia’s opposition party that they will soon open talks on the country joining the EU” according to one UK media outlet. In doing so – a direct interference in Macedonia’s electoral process – the “senior eurocrats” are, like the financial sanctions of Ivo Vajgl, attempting a backdoor way of continuing the attack on Macedonia’s identity and name.

In these continuing attacks what most of the EU’s elected and unelected leaders (but not all), rogue Obama-era diplomats, the mainstream media, academia and think-tanks and of course, George Soros are saying to Macedonians is basically the following: “You so-called Macedonians! You cling bitterly to your name, your identity, your religion! You basket of deplorables! You are racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic -- you name it!” They despise the fact that you actually have an identity, as they are shedding theirs as fast as they possibly can. And because you won’t bow down before their gods, the gods of secularism, modernity, post-modernity and globalism, you must pay the ultimate price: demise and destruction.

Polish sociologist and philosopher Zygmunt Bauman has coined the term “liquid modernity” to describe the present condition of the world and our societies – a time in which change happens so quickly that our social institutions do not have time to solidify. He writes that “The hub of postmodern life strategy is not identity building but avoidance of fixation.” American author Rod Dreher calls this a “pitiless analysis” and writes that “to succeed today, you need to be free of all commitments unbound by the past or the future, living in an everlasting present. The world changes so quickly that the person who is loyal to anything, even to [his or] her identity, takes an enormous risk.” Much of the world – and especially the left and the elites – are embracing this, which is one reason why you have so many so-called leaders calling themselves “citizens of the world” and why the EU is fighting so hard to create a “European identity” at the expense of individual nation-states. It also explains why these same people are furious that Macedonians – you bitter clingers – would want to keep your name and identity.

As a side issue, I am certain that most Macedonians who voted for SDSM this past December are Macedonian patriots. Or at least I hope so. I would be very interested in knowing what they think of the Tirana Platform. Do they support it? If so, why? Do they wish to see the Albanian language as an official language throughout the entire territory of the Republic of Macedonia? If yes, why? Do they believe it is a good use of time and Macedonia’s political capital to condemn the so-called “genocide” by Serbia of ethnic Albanians between 1912 and 1952? If so, why? Why is this necessary and needed? I have yet to hear anyone – including Macedonia’s Albanians, explain why this is necessary and needed now. Do they support changing Macedonia’s flag, national anthem and coat-of-arms? If yes, why?

Moving on now to a quick update on what is happening in Washington, DC. The conservative and highly influential think-thank The Heritage Foundation put out an excellent policy paper this week calling Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and the US State Department to conduct a “full investigation” into the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and why it has been spending American taxpayer money in collaboration with George Soros’ Open Society Foundations around the world (not just in Macedonia). The paper also calls for “congressional hearings” stating that they are “essential to shed light on taxpayer funding of groups supporting controversial policies.” While the paper notes that under USAID, programs that work to alleviate poverty and promote democracy are popular in the US, “the Obama Administration at times turned USAID into one of its preferred instruments for promoting contentious agendas that have failed to gain consensus acceptance within America society itself.” Continuing, the paper notes that “These agendas—from transgender rights and same-sex marriage to training foreign citizens in street ‘activism,’ ‘civic engagement,’ and ‘mobilization’—have caused deep rifts here.” The paper notes that all of these issues are not settled in America and are highly controversial – and that we, as a nation, should not be promoting them abroad when we can’t agree on them at home and that promoting them abroad does not even serve our national security interests and, in fact, tends to turn our allies away. This issue continues to gain traction in Washington, DC and throughout America and I, for one, look forward to putting an end to this. As always, my message to you is to be happy warriors and keep up the good fight.

Viktor Orban: Balkan's Stability Requires New Elections in Macedonia as soon as Possible

http://www.independent.mk/articles/42673/Viktor+Orban+Balkan%27s+Stability+Requires+New+Elections+in+Macedonia+as+soon+as+Possible

In speeches before the Congress of the EPP in the presence of Heads of States and Government, including the leaders of the European Union, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and other European politicians, the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban sent a message that stability is required in the Balkans and Macedonia, and it is not possible without Gruevski and he said that the solution are snap elections which are a strategic interest of the Union.

"If millions of migrants begin to march in the Balkans, it is impossible to maintain stability. Macedonia cannot be stable without Gruevski's party. Stability in the Balkans requires new elections in Macedonia as soon as possible. I welcome the resolution on further enlargement of the European Union and it is crucial for the stability of starting negotiations with Macedonia", Orban said.

A message of support on behalf of the European People's Party was sent by the Slovenian leader Janez Jansa.

"As a family of the European People's Party we will always continue to support our sister parties in Europe, not letting the leftists to destroy them with selective justice, Soros’ money, risking stability in the region as it is happening now in Macedonia", Jansa told the European leaders and the leadership of the European People's Party.

Mogherini and Hahn failed, Next up is Tusk to 'convince' Ivanov

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31695/1/

President of the European Council, Donald Tusk will visit Macedonia next week, MIA learns from diplomatic sources in Brussels.

The reason for Tusk's visit is the migrant crisis, Macedonia's role in addressing the issue as well as the political situation in the country, MIA's correspondent reports Wednesday from the Belgian capital.

The head of the European Council will be paying a visit to Macedonia in the midst of growing warnings about a new surge of refugees as a result of heightened tensions between the EU and Turkey with the latter issuing threats to annul the migrant deal. Namely, the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has been saying his country will stop re-admitting failed asylum seekers, which is seen as a large threat to Europe, most notably to Western Balkan countries, which is a cause for alarm in the EU.

This will be Donald Tusk's third visit to Macedonia in two years.

He last visited the country in March 2016, when he was hosted by Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov. The two politicians in Skopje discussed ways for a joint European solution to be reached to the refugee and migrant crisis. At the meeting, Ivanov warned about illegal migration, involving migrants entering Macedonia forcefully. He said Macedonia would curb the rise of security risks stemming from the migrant crisis. President Ivanov pledged Macedonia would take all necessary activities to protect its borders and to defend its national security.

SDS MP meets with his US Handler - What to do Next

Umbrella.jpg

If there are more questions who is the "Umbrella" behind the wiretapping, and who is tasked to protect Zaev and Verushevski, well here is more photo evidence.

CIA operative David Stephenson member of the US Embassy where his official title is "political counselor" met with Damjan Mancevski of the SDS to discuss how to bypass the status-quo. To assist the two was none other but Lukas Holub, representative of the EU, which we have already outed as working for Jess Baily who is ironically in the US answering questions why USAid gave millions to Soros who in turn funded the condom revolution in the country, the SDS and were used to bribe voters.

According to our sources in the SDS, these meetings occur at the very least weekly and sometimes daily, depending how critical the situation is. The meetings normally take place very late at night. This photo was taken by former ranking SDS official Ljupco Palevski who as he says is disgusted by the treason committed by SDS on daily basis.

So here you have it. Your broken Umbrella is the United States, has been since day one. The British, Germans and Italians who are also involved, are just happy to assist remnants of the Obama administration and obey whatever comes from the State Department/US Embassy. Still plenty of Obama|Nuland people at both places.

Tillerson has not replaced a single employee at the US Embassy in Skopje, and this sort of photos showing up in the public will likely continue.

Protests: Citizens Will Not Allow Tirana Government or President of Parliament

http://www.independent.mk/articles/42674/Protests+Citizens+Will+Not+Allow+Tirana+Government+or+President+of+Parliament

Huge number of citizens sent a message on Thursday night with the most massive gathering in front of the Parliament intended for politicians who want to impose Tirana’s Platform as a post-election cuckoo egg.

They have not received the mandate for the Tirana platform and that is why people are on the streetrs for 32 days. These people proved they love Macedonia and that politicians must listen to the voice of the citizens. These are times when we must preserve the state anthem, flag, coat of arms and the name.

The crowds at the protest were addressed by two presidents of Parliament, Ljubisa Georgievski and Savo Klimovski who called Tirana’s platform a big scam.

Georgievski asked for a petition to start with 150-200,000 citizens who will put their signatures against the platform.

"With this we will be different from those who love the platform. With the signatures we will ask the EU to refrain from the Tirana’s platform. This way if not in the European Union we will enter into European history", Georgievski said.

All the time citizens were chanting "elections", "elections" and the rally ended with a performance of Macedonian patriotic songs.

U.S. House Republicans are calling for an investigation into tax dollars funneled through the U.S. Agency for International Development program to foundations controlled by billionaire liberal puppeteer George Soros.

House Republicans investigate Obama admin $$ sent to Soros group

March 14, 2017 - Seven congressmen in January are demanding answers from USAID, the State Department, and Obama-appointed ambassador to Macedonia, Jess L. Bailey, over millions in U.S. funding funneled to groups associated with Soros’ Open Society Foundation that the country’s officials allege is being used to undermine the conservative government.

Hungary has officially closed down and banned a George Soros university from operating in the country, amid a complete crackdown on the billionaire’s activities in the country.

Hungary Bans George Soros University

Students and staff at the Central European University (CEU) were advised to leave the building, after Prime Minister Viktor Orban ordered the closure.

The announcement comes after millions of Europeans across the continent have taken to the streets in their thousands, demanding that governments reject George Soros’ globalist influence immediately.

BBC News reports: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-39429309

Education Secretary Laszlo Palkovics said the proposed legislation followed a review of 28 foreign universities operating in Hungary, including the CEU in Budapest.

“This is not an anti-CEU investigation and not against Mr Soros,” he said.

The Hungary-born billionaire founded the university in 1991 and continues to fund it.

He wanted the CEU to be a bastion of liberal thought and promote the values of an open society and democracy.

But the university appears to have become the latest target in a campaign by Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s government against liberal values.

The government says the CEU and other foreign-funded universities are operating outside the law, and that the new legislation aims to create a new legal footing.

But CEU Rector Michael Ignatieff says the university is fully legal and the new law has been designed to disable it.

“We will defend our achievements vigorously against anyone who seeks to defame our work in the eyes of the Hungarian people,” he said.

The new rules would force the CEU to change its name, set up a campus in New York, change its curriculum and become subservient to both the US and Hungarian governments.

Protesting staff and students are now seeking the support of other universities, both in Hungary and worldwide.

It comes at a time of deteriorating relations between US President Donald Trump and Mr Soros, who recently described the new occupant of the White Houseas “an imposter, a [political] conman and a would-be dictator”.

Relations between Mr Soros and Mr Orban – a keen supporter of the US president – also became strained when Mr Orban accused him of wanting a role in Hungarian politics and supporting the influx of migrants into Europe.

Mr Orban recently claimed Hungary was “under siege” from asylum seekers.

The prime minister won a scholarship sponsored by Mr Soros to study at Oxford university and the pair were allies in the days immediately following the fall of communism.

But with the two now at loggerheads, NGOs partially funded by Mr Soros’ Open Society Foundation are under pressure to close in Hungary.

New Elections in Macedonia are a Must, whether the GMO Hybrids like it or not

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31711/1/

http://dnevnik.mk/?ItemID=A4A01501C50A044E8FCCB961BC3E4240

What is the point of the protests across Macedonia? Have they resolved anything? In fact, the more these protests continue without resolution, the more cancerous the country becomes. What are the tactics for? Is it for the useless MPs in Parliament to continue getting paid? The gordian knot delicately tied by our 'tacticians' in Parliament has to be violently cut. The current tactics are not so much to review responsibilities as they claim, but to delay the punishment that’s coming, and it’s coming.

Our Parliament has become a pub where patrons hold discussions about nothing with the final goal of passing the day. It is utterly useless to spend weeks debating what western GMO hybrid Zoran Zaev agreed to with Ahmeti and Sela. We all know there must be elections in Macedonia whether peacefully or by force. We need to once and for all identify who is with the people and the country, and who is against, although the majority have already been identified.

The Macedonian political crisis was created when the crazed corporate-militant globalism faced off against normal humans and their societies. The former aiming for complete destruction of national identities and individuality and their replacement with new product without natural evolution thought out by a demented creator. How far this fascist project originally envisioned by Mengele has reached, we can tell from what is happening today in United States, Canada and parts of EU and are now forcing it on the entire planet. This lunacy has reached epic proportions in both the US and Canada where laws are already being enacted to transform their population into a GMO hybrid product with no consciousness or identity where everyone can choose their sex, at any time. There are now 31 types of GMO hybrid humans, despite warnings by leading American and Canadian psychologists that their countries are undergoing “a form of mental degradation creating problems with unprecedented consequences to society”.

In the US and Canada it is no longer sufficient to be feminist, gay, lesbian or transgender. Now, you can change your gender depending on how you’re feeling that day. In the afternoon you can be straight gay, in the evenings a transgender lesbian, and for breakfast something else. Parents are issued birth certificates where their baby is described as “genderless”. They have utterly lost their mind, and it would be prudent to mention that the British are following and implementing these “norms” with lightening speed. It's the AngloSaxon way.

These new 31 types of hybrids are already asking for their own separate tourist tours, they don’t want to mix with the “weird” humans known as males or females. They are asking for revision of history books where one can find freaks of their kind being mentioned as the leaders of societies. Yes, even hybrids with serious mental issues are seeking historical representation.
The problem is, these GMO hybrids have decided to force their own mental problems upon other nations as the new “societal norm” which must be accepted, by force if necessary.

Welcome to Macedonia where Western ops for the past decade have created a local GMO hybrids who publicly claim they have no identity, culture and language. These GMO hybrids are proposing that everyone in Macedonia should be just like them, an unidentified product, hybrid that someone else will tell it what it is, as if a lab rat. Our GMO hybrid duo Zaev-Sekerinska, their backers and the Tirana platform pushed in Macedonia is precisely doing that.

Luckily for us, neither Zaev nor Sekerinska and certainly not the albanian political camp in the country are factors. The normal people with XX and XY chromosomes with Macedonian identity are the only factor.
We see pointless discussions in Parliament surrounding the agenda for great Albania. It matters not what the MPs are debating, all MPs know that this agenda and their useless debates are dead. It’s a no go. Elections are a must, both local and national, and this isn’t debatable.

If the useless MPs think that we’re not noticing that they are preparing the field for continuing the mandate of the illegal and unconstitutional SPO, they would be wrong. We're watching closely and we would not allow it. The SPO works closely with CIA’s OTI network and their operatives Mrs Shelby and Martinez are already sabotaging Macedonia, preparing the field, creating local GMO hybrids along the likes of Zaev who are trained to manage their local villages and towns as cantons and refuse orders from Government institutions. Similarly to the way it’s done in the US.

The mandate of the three SPO prostitutes and heroin addicts expires in April. This means Ivanov has a very short time to keep his office in Constitutional compliance. Whether by utilizing the police or the Army, Ivanov will have to act. And if he doesn’t, we will take matters in our hands. There are only two choices. Either you enforce the Constitution, or we will.

SDS Loses BESA MPs, DUI Not Sure what to do, Jess Baily is in the US

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31724/1/

DUI's leadership wrapped up their meeting, where the main topic on their agenda was to decide whether to quit the technical Government, however no decision has been made. Jess Baily's phone must be unavailable as the US Ambassador is in Washington where he is questioned on giving millions of Americans' taxpayers money to Soros to finance Macedonian protests and the destabilization of the country.

During the past year, it became very obvious DUI is under complete control of the US Ambassador, so much so Ahmeti would change his mind for just about anything after receiving a phone call from Baily's office.

DUI's leadership is split and have had heated debates whether they should still obey Jess Baily and Soros considering the change in the US leadership. DUI's wing of Teuta Arifi, Nevzat Bejta and Izet Memeti believe the US democrats would overwhelm Trump and should continue their loyalty to Baily and Soros after which they will be rewarded.

------

In unrelated news, Zaev's support in Parliament has been reduced by 5 MPs getting their total MPs down to 62, after the radical islamists in BESA withdrew their support for SDS led Government. BESA believed SDS' nomination of Talat Xhaferi for Parliament Speaker was wrong, but not for the reasons you think.

In 2001 Talat Xhaferi deserted the Macedonian Army and joined UCK where he was known as commandir Forina. However, BESA is ok with this, their problem is that Xhaferi may not be radical enough for them.

Desperate DUI mulls quitting Government

http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/31719/1/

DUI has been mulling over the possibility of all of its officials quitting the technical government at a session Friday of the party's central presidency at its main headquarters in the village of Mala Recica.

"DUI's structures are pondering such an alternative that could play a role in unblocking the situation. Members of the presidency are considering the pros and cons of this move. Some believe the ministers after submitting their resignation would have to continue to perform their ministerial duties until a new government is appointed, while others believe that a collective ministerial resignation would unblock the stalemate," DUI spokesman Bujar Osmani told reporters in front of the party's headquarters.

According to him, local elections are also discussed at the session. "In compliance with the Constitution, mayors have four-year terms. They are going to expire next week, which will open a legal void in the functioning of the municipalities. DUI is going to discuss this void, too, including likely candidates that will run for mayors in the local polls and the process itself of scheduling local elections," Osmani stated.

DUI, the spokesman noted, is not interested in new elections, the party is only interested in unblocking the stalemate.

In new elections, DUI has the most to lose. It's clear the SDS will lose big time, which will pave the way for VMRO to establish a Government without DUI. However, in a SDS-led Government DUI will have virtually 90% control of the country as the SDS will give up almost all of the ministerial positions to DUI so Zaev can essentially avoid heading to prison.
