Yes, that and the fact that 'our side' - a large percentage of the population that rejects Covidianism - has almost zero 'representation', not just in politics but in the entire public space (the arts, culture, media, sports, ALL of it!).I think it's more what Novak represents. He's acting as a symbol - symbols are powerful. That's why I believe the situation is capturing a lot of people's attention.
I think Nigel Farage groks the significance of this, which is why he flew to Belgrade to meet Djokovic's family and report on this story for a British audience. He characterizes the tennis player's legal victory today as "the first major setback for the state (anywhere)" since March 2020.
I agree, however, that we should maintain perspective.
It is possible that Djokovic's victory - along with other signs that governments are backing away from their extreme positions on Covid and vaccines - means that we are beginning to observe the rollback of 'pandemic control measures'.
But it is unlikely that this heralds 'a return to normal'. More likely, governments are preparing for the next big global crisis: economic (and 'environmental') collapse.
