Olympic games in Paris (2024)

On American television, the Olympics - which is hosted by NBC, there is a rap music personality called Snoop Dog. He's black if you're not familiar with him... Anyways, they have him at just about every event - watching the sporting events...

What's so special about Snoop Dog watching the Olympics? OK, so once in a while a famous personality is seen watching their favorite event. That's fine. It adds a little to the 'Olympics are for everyone' spirit that the broadcasters want to convey.
But, Snoop... He ought to have a youtube channel with nothing but him reacting to every sporting event. That's how often they put him on Olympic coverage.

Here's what I'm thinking... American media needs a black face. I know it sounds silly, but black Americans are turning on the democrats and migrating to Trump.

Enter Snoop Dog.

So, he isn't being political or anything. His face is being plastered on every event...
And during commercials, Snoop is the new member of the judges on Americas Got Talent... So he isn't just on the Olympic coverage, he is in the commercials too!

As well, after the last summer Olympics - which was marred by BLM activism, maybe they decided to make athletes feel better by having a brother by their side, encouraging them to just compete - to set aside their grievances and make Snoop proud.

This is yet another mockery from the American side of this Olympics.

The time for Snoop to get political, will be during the fall when a new season of AGT starts, and the election nears.

Snooze Dogg, the shameless shill, will still be sipping Coronas and chronically puffing down fat blunts in the AGT dressing room in the run up to the election. He is the poster boy of chill (WAY past his boyhood) who will maintain that personae no matter what he thinks privately. Unless the PTB want to speak through him to his fan base which is … who exactly??

LOL!

Calvin Brodus aka Snoop Dog graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School with my friend Randy. I’m not sure what he’s a part of since goin’ Hollywood, but he used to be a pretty normal, nice, funny guy who smoked a lot of weed, and wanted to be a rapper. He’s become something of a comical caricature of himself, and generally turns up in random situations just being ol’ Snoop. Honestly the only hit song I remember of his was Gin and Juice from back in the 90s. But again, his image is really just the guy who shows up and your reaction is “Haha! There’s Snoop!” and there he is just looking stoned. He doesn’t really do anything (he acts a bit and is a producer), as his presence is the gag. At least that’s what I think. I’ve never really followed closely his career.

Nice work, if you can get it... :-D

The “Gin and Juice” rapper, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, has been working for NBC as a special correspondent for the Paris 2024 Olympics. However, it seems that Snoop Dogg was allegedly given a pretty penny for his now-viral Olympic appearances.

Henry L McNamara – a New York-based venture capitalist and Forbes 30-Under-30 honoree – recently took to X, formerly Twitter, to share Snoop Dogg’s supposed Olympics paycheck. “Sat next to an NBC exec at dinner,” McNamara wrote on August 4. “He said Snoop gets paid $500,000 a day plus expenses to be here promoting [the] Olympics.

“From ‘Gin and Juice’ to a few million to be a celebrity at the Olympics – what a world,” he added.

The Grammy-nominated artist touched down in Paris, France, ahead of the Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, July 26. He is scheduled to provide commentary for NBC until the end of the Olympics on Sunday, August 11. According to McNamara, Snoop Dogg will allegedly cash in a whopping total of $8m for the entire 16-day span of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

I think it’s got something to do with a ‘get stoned, zone outta reality and trash your memory daawwwg’ agenda. I’m so very very suspicious of why weed has become socially acceptable as medicine and recreation in the past 10 years.. we have 5 cannabinoid receptors in our bodies and science only knows what 2 of them do.

I propose there are very nefarious things going on with marijuana, and I speak from a bit of first hand experience

The IOC has disqualified an Indian female wrestler, Vinesh Phogat, from competing because she weighed in a few grams over her 50kg division. The Wrestling Federation of India has protested the decision, but it looks like it will stand. Phogat was a strong contender for the gold.

Apparently Phogat is a national heroine in India and I can imagine that the Indians might be feeling ripped off since this Olympics seems to be the anything goes Olympics. Can't say that I fault the decision, but it also seems as though women are being held to fairness constraints harder than the men who compete in women's sports.

I wonder if this will attract the outrage of the anti fat shaming crowd.

This post will be a 90 degree turn. It’s a reply to the Trans thread but I think it fits better here.

? Do we need an any additions? Aren’t we already there? For years there has been a steady progression of skimpier women’s performance gear. Does a permanent wedgie suit really enhance performance?

(Don’t get me wrong. My lower Hetero Male self has no objections whatsoever!)

Do your butt cheeks hanging out make you run faster and jump higher…and dive better? When the archers and skeet shooters have their derrières exposed, we’ll know we’ve reached the point of no return.
It’s not just women, I recall (some time ago, I may have grown up a little since then, can’t guarantee it though) being a little too interested in a men’s sprinting event where the Swiss fellas were wearing tight red shorts, unlike darker colours which are quite a bit less revealing. The front view of those men running for their lives did NOT leave much left for the imagination.

I really appreciate the human body, it’s a thing of beauty and I’m not at all shocked that higher density lizards beings (who sound kinda ugly) want some of these beautiful bodies for themselves… and I admit to giving it too much attention, mine included, just not exploited. There’s a line, but is it much different to a heap of beach goers lazing around in even less than what the athletes wear? It’s up to the ‘viewer’ as to how close they come to, or allow them self past, the line. If someone decides to participate in public event in their sexy undies then they’re asking for it IMO

I grew up and still live at the beach in Southern California. In my lifetime I’ve witnessed the evolution from the “Itty bitty teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini” to the “French cut bikini” to the outright thong bikini. Even in my 20s I thought the thong was over the line (not that I minded at the time). The funny thing is that the men never would be caught dead in a Speedo! If anything the bathing suits grew into board shorts. As for Olympic athletes, I cannot imagine that men benefit from Speedo type wear (except perhaps for swimmers). Otherwise give your balls some air! But hey, the overlords don’t want us reproducing, so maybe that’s part of the plan.😄

That's basically my thought too, cos I always wondered why Snoop Dogg was so seemingly mainstreamly popular/promoted, this aging rapper turning up in random TV shows etc, as himself (and now the Olympics, lol what?). I don't know his music but nothing I heard of his in the 90s-2000s stood out to me. It was like "middle of the road" genteel rap.. (some of my favourite albums from back then are hiphop btw, for what it's worth, though not of the gangsta variety)... He's sort of like Taylor Swift for middle aged white potheads :) a PTB vector. (Dunno if it's like that in the US, or how black Americans see him, I speak only for how he's regarded by people I know in Australia and UK)

Weight class is pretty important in sports like wrestling and boxing, and it's not the first time an athlete was disqualified for failing the weigh in. Most of them are competing in a weight class below their natural weight, so they try to game the system by losing some weight to make the weigh in. It has nothing to do with fat shaming, and everything to do with competitive fairness.

Someone has to be the first one to say "no". Someone has to stand alone against the entire world, and face everyone's wrath, to be perceived as "the bad guy".
How many people are willing to do that?

Instead, people keep looking around and waiting for someone else to be the first one.
Well, there are a few famous athletes who have stood up against the transmadness of allowing biological males to compete in women's sporting events. Riley Gaines, an American swimmer, has been openly vocal about the issue after losing a race to transswimmer Lia (William) Thomas.

If you have Twitter/X account, you can follow her here...

Others include - Belgian weightlifter Anna Vanbellinghen, NFL legend Brett Favre (male), and 18-time Grand Slam singles champion Martina Navratilova who argued that allowing transgender women to compete in women's sports was "insane" and akin to "cheating."

Hopefully, as time goes on and this kind of cheating becomes more commonplace, other athletes will learn from the examples set by these brave few and refuse to compete against male athletes who use progressive ideology, victim mentality and weaponized empathy to worm their way into female sports categories.

It depends on the sport and not all sports have same level of difficulty. Those main ones they earn very well, and depends on the country, those not so popular sports there are no sponsors in those poorer countries and there are no priviliges compered to popular sports and western countries whose university education is on the level of primary school compered to others like in US and they pass it without even practicaly going to college because of their sport status. There is also no fairness in sports when it comes to earnings and popularity even if poorer sports more difficult. And if they cheat? Most of them cheat and take roids and all kind of performance substances because their body could not take so much wear and tear through intensive everday training, and when they hit 40 ties their bodies are spent like they are in their 60 ties, so the good question is to ask was it worth the money and passing fame? Not mentioning most of them are only good for physcial training and no brains, many are egotistical and selfish, to me very shallow existence but hey everbody has its way and it is not also easy that kind of life and better then todays most physicaly docile population. Like for one example Djokovic who is great tennis player and worker in that regards but for close people around hiim from what I heared egomaniac to them. There are and those who are truly inspiring and good people down to earth.
I'd say some good points of view. What I'd add is that it's worth recognising that the extreme position on either side (i.e. it's either all good or all bad) is never representative of the average.

From an "average" perspective, most sports in the Olympics don't offer very good earnings to athletes who aren't in the top 100 in their sport (exclude stuff like football, basketball and tennis).

On average, to succeed, there's a certain level of dedication and selfishness needed. By its very nature of competition, athletes if they want to succeed must have resolute self confidence but this must be such that they also must know how to learn and listen so they can get better (otherwise they simply won't get better or succeed). They recognise that we (i.e. the normal man) aren't on the same journey and so they may appear selfish or egotistical to us. A man who is dedicated to a cause may appear selfish to a man who is dedicated to nothing - one man sacrifices everything and the other man languishes around criticising and demanding everything. 🤷

Having said the above, athletes are not immune to the things that we are all here to learn. Of course each athlete is also an individual human being and they are in 3D because they have lessons to learn despite their profession / calling.

Personally, having seen a few (no one famous, ultimately people who didn't "make it"), I recognise the hard work they put in, the sacrifice and that for the majority, the defeat they'll have to come to terms with. I recognise the strength and talent in these human beings. In my view, its better than just accepting a life of no dedication to anything, of no suffering towards something of not striving or sacrificing or holding a dream.
