I agree that "Putin is one smart man." A quick check of his biography may hold some clues?

Just catching up, so not sure if it was already mentioned here. Two days ago one of my FB friends posted the following:

Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany told Mr. Obama by telephone on Sunday that after speaking with Mr. Putin she was not sure he was in touch with reality, people briefed on the call said. “In another world,” she said.

She (the friend) probably quoted from an online article or something similar. The intention was obviously to point out the total "disconnect from reality" of Putin. And btw, she is intelligent, articulate, poignant and open minded woman. But she also belongs to the LGBT community, and that's where she and her friends apparently see Putin as the devil incarnate. So his every decision or deed is viewed through this filter. And that's really unfortunate.

But the reason I mention it, is because considering all we know about pathologicals, their views on reality, how distorted they are, it may very well be that for them Putin is literally in another world! So the rest of the world population, it seems, since they (the pathologicals) are unable to grasp what motivates these pesky normals.

What is also worth mentioning, that regardless of the fact that the whole situation is probably nothing but a grand charade intended to distract the populace from the threat from space and the earth changes, the current confrontation is a great example of degradation and propaganda vs intelligence and strategy. Yeah, maybe I am biased, being Russky and all, but seriously, Obama can't make a coherent and "natural" speech without his teleprompter and the whole thing being rehearsed to death.

And on the other hand we have Putin, who makes a strategic and well thought move by organizing a conference, which he calls "not an interview, but a conversation" and makes sure to appear approachable, though still, quite articulate. Both he and Lavrov in the past demonstrated a level of professionalism in diplomatic dealings that is lacking in Western leaders for quite some time now. Maybe all of this is part of the Russian mentality and what works on Russian citizens. It's quite obvious that Putin is well versed in NLP and other oratorical techniques. Ok, so be it, he is a politician after all. But in comparison to him, Western leaders do appear as "less intelligent", and those who win the move by tricks of propaganda and deception. fwiw.

This is what I find intriguing. I have a bulgarian friend who also sees Putin as the devil. It makes me think that the americans are trying to make somehow the image of Putin look very very bad. Even in Romania, for example my parents, from what they saw at news on tv get to the conclusion that Putin is the bad guy here.
They distort Putin's actions, they manipulate the information. I am curious where this can go. Maybe they want the eastern countries just go mad on the russians?

Maybe the strategy is to focus the attention of people in particular directions in order that the information that contradicts the picture they wish to present, like the Nuland leak, the Paet leak the evidence of the involvement of militaristic rightwing groups and foreign interference becomes ignored. We have seen this kind of information focussing with 9/11, with Gadaffi, with Assad, with Hugo Chavez and one can add more examples. In addition the populations need to be manipulated to a point where they will be more than willing to authorize contributions and send their sons and daughters into a conflict as happened during the conflict in former Jugoslavia during the 90ies where Slobodan Milosevic was the bad guy and NATO, at the expence of the taxpayers, went in to "correct" the problem. Yes, there is certainly an attempt to drown the signal with noise, but I think they will end up with egg on their face. Like Laura set, what a bunch of cretins. Russia do have all the trump cards along with intelligence connected with the real world, whereas the crétins, though perhaps intelligent in terms of IQ have become self-deluded and have fallen for STS wishful thinking.

Lavrov and Putin are statesmen of a caliber way above the rest on the international scene.

I was watching last night a post G20 press conference where Putin was briefly discussing plans for a new BRICKS Bank in which Russia would contribute 18 billion in hard currency (gold?) of the 100 billion kick start finance. I have heard nothing of this in the MSM but I imagine it is not going down too well with the one world bank that people will be given a choice to exit their monopoly.

CNN's latest propaganda blurb:

Foreign ministers -- including those from Russia and Ukraine -- meeting today in Paris "agreed to continue intense discussions in the coming days" to resolve the crisis in Ukraine, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said.

Their goal is "to see how we can help normalize the situation, stabilize it and overcome the crisis," he said.

Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met three times today in the French capital. One of those meetings included a "brief and informal discussion" among Kerry, Lavrov, British Foreign Secretary William Hague, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, an official said.

This was a pretty interesting collection of videos:

Videos From Ukraine that The U.S. Media Will Never Show You
The Sugar coated story that the U.S. media has been feeding the public is completely out of sync with the events unfolding on the ground in Ukraine. Here are six videos that you'll never see aired on the mainstream news.

_http://scgnews.com/videos-from-ukraine-that-the-us-media-will-never-show-you

E.g.

1) Ukrainian "protesters" setting fire to police off

2)"Freedom fighters" brutally beat man with batons while he's laying on the ground

3)Literal Neo-Nazis openly marching through Kiev displaying their emblems

Well, to some people, I'm sure Putin is "in another world".

To me, those people who claim Putin is in another world are themselves in another world, and not one I care to hang out in.

Somehow, I think that this will be an increasingly popular "theme" in the times to come...

IOW, people will make their choice, and there will be consequences.

I've just sat through a television news item on Putin. It was prefaced with comments about how even amongst his majority supporters, he doesn't come across well. They went to a guy (journalist?) in Russia & asked what he thought of the president. Paraphrasing: "it's very difficult to talk to Putin, he never gives a straight answer to your questions. He'll just start talking about something else entirely, convincingly too." That was the English translation, which came across as sneering. Next, they went to the editor of the newspaper "Pravda" & spoke with its editor. Did he have anything good to say about Putin? "Putin is all style & no substance" was the response (literal) & was his main theme.

This news segment jumped immediately to black & white footage of... Lenin... and Stalin. Then the voiceover began to tell the viewers how Putin's propaganda shots (cue clips of Putin swimming, riding horseback bare-chested etc) tried to make him seem like someone "not to be messed with", & then how he could learn a thing or two from the propaganda of the above two. Cue a brief biased history lesson. End. Return to studio. Presenter with smirk on face.

At this point, I'm not holding out for an accurate translation of anything Russians have to say from certain western media outlets. They might assume that no one will be bothered to check anyway. I have to say that, before the grainy world war library pictures of Lenin & Stalin, I actually thought the two interviewees were talking about Tony Blair! Style & no substance? Avoiding direct questions?

A number of interesting yesterday's news:

Thank you Avala for sharing your story. What happened in Siberia in 1990's sounds like a carbon copy of what is happening in Ukraine, and has happened in other places.

As for joining the EU, it sounds more like colonisation in a velvet glove.

Here are some articles from Reuters. The propaganda is not the least opaque:

In Ukraine's Crimea, a tense and surreal standoff: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/06/us-ukraine-crisis-crimea-idUSBREA2502V20140306

Some Ukrainian servicemen saw their Slavic brothers as protection - not against Ukrainian nationalists, as Russian media and officials suggest, but against pro-Russian mobs that have surrounded bases in response to inflammatory media reports.

"The presence of an army from our neighboring country is irritating, but at the moment it is standing between us and our people who want some kind of radical change," Nikiforov said, choosing his words cautiously. "All decisions must be made through the ballot boxes and not with clubs."

On the other side, there have also been misleading media reports of Russians overrunning bases, apparently to portray the enemy in a more negative light or perhaps to stir foreign governments in to action.

Ukrainian television has aired messages from people in other parts of the country wishing the troops strength. TCH TV showed one man hugging his daughter and urging: "Don't give in to provocations."

How long can the Ukrainian forces hold out and how long will the Russians' patience last is unclear.

The West is pushing for Russia to return troops to barracks, and accept international monitors in Crimea.

The next flashpoint could be the newly installed, pro-Russian authorities' planned referendum on Crimea's future on March 30. Until then, the waiting game could go on.

"We hope our politicians put away their ambitions and don't make us shoot at one another," said Nikiforov. "At the end of the day, we are people who follow orders. Today we smile, but tomorrow we might get order to shoot."

Sounds surreal. The West still trying to further insinuate their agenda.

Big power talks on Ukraine crisis make little progress: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/05/us-ukraine-crisis-idUSBREA1Q1E820140305

NATO, at a meeting in Brussels, announced it was cutting back on cooperation with Russia to try to pressure it into backing down on Ukraine and suspended planning for a joint mission linked to Syrian chemical weapons. The alliance said it would step up engagement with Ukraine's new leadership.

The European Union offered Ukraine's new pro-Western government 11 billion euros ($15 billion) in financial aid in the next couple of years provided Kiev reaches a deal with the International Monetary Fund. Germany, the EU's biggest economy, also promised bilateral financial help.

U.S., China officials agree Ukraine's territorial integrity important: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/06/us-ukraine-crisis-obama-china-idUSBREA2508E20140306

China agrees with the United States that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine must be respected in its dispute with Russia, the White House said in statement on Wednesday after top-level contacts between the two countries.

China is treading a cautious path in the Ukraine dispute, withholding criticism of strategic partner Russia while adhering to its traditional policy of not interfering in the affairs of other countries.

[...]

"They also agreed that the United States and China share an interest in supporting efforts to identify a peaceful resolution to the ongoing dispute between Russia and Ukraine that is based on respect for international law and upholds Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity," the statement said.

The United States has engaged in global diplomatic efforts to gather opposition against Russia's deployment of troops in the Crimea region of southern Ukraine.

Obama spoke earlier to British Prime Minister David Cameron as Washington seeks to mount European pressure on Europe.

Vice President Joe Biden talked by phone with Latvian President Andris Berzins to underscore the United States' commitment to peace and security in the Baltic region.

Statements are very much focussed on what the US said. With John Kerry's visit to Ukraine with an economic package, the pressure is being applied onto both sides.

As well as the above, Top diplomats seek Ukraine solution in Paris talks: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-26444747

The revelation of evidence that the snipers were shooting both sides is another typical pattern repeated over and over again by these one trick ponies. It was also done after the 2008 presidential elections/failed "color revolution" riots in Armenia. Same weapons used to shoot into the crowd and at the riot police - proved to be foreign weapons not used by any official units in the country. That investigation is still ongoing....

Here is more propaganda, alegedly RT anchor quits on air because of russian whitewashing and Putin:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55izx6rbCqg

It seems she got better deal with western networks for this stunt or it is only self promotion to them. She says her parents came here to escape soviet forces during hungarian revolution and that her partner is military physician and see price americans pay for this country first hand, she probably meant under price "freedom" and that is "why" she can not work for russian network because it is anti-freedom concluded from her words. Curiously she did not think about it prior to getting to work for RT but it all just came up suddenly during the ongoing tensions in Ukraine. And she says her family from mother side is still struggling in poverty in Hungary, but from little history knowledge and geography knowledge she should know it is not part of Russia but EU, but it was probably meant for average American who can not find his country on the world map. And yes, I wonder if she could find job on american network if her family had such anti-american background and views, it all just says how much the Russians are "anti-democratical". Good job girl, now you would get good job at american network and Obama will give you medal for promoting "freedom and democracy", for finding a bigger hand that feeds you, it is the real patriotic way.

http://rt.com/usa/rt-reacts-liz-wahl-042/

During a live broadcast on Wednesday, RT America presenter Liz Wahl announced she was stepping down, citing her disagreements with the network’s editorial policy. RT issued a statement following her resignation.

Ms. Wahl's resignation comes on the heels of her colleague Abby Martin's recent comments in which she voiced her disagreement with certain policies of the Russian government and asserted her editorial independence. The difference is, Ms. Martin spoke in the context of her own talk show, to the viewers who have been tuning in for years to hear her opinions on current events – the opinions that most media did not care about until two days ago. For years, Ms. Martin has been speaking out against US military intervention, only to be ignored by the mainstream news outlets – but with that one comment, branded as an act of defiance, she became an overnight sensation. It is a tempting example to follow.

When a journalist disagrees with the editorial position of his or her organization, the usual course of action is to address those grievances with the editor, and, if they cannot be resolved, to quit like a professional. But when someone makes a big public show of a personal decision, it is nothing more than a self-promotional stunt.

We wish Liz the best of luck on her chosen path.

Yup. Looks like she's chosen entropy.
