Role of Russia

Kniall,
That was my reply to your post #227. His view shows that he just does not (want to) understand the real destiny of our country. Or he has a hidden agenda - complying with western led policy in most affairs (also to the benefit of Israelis which are his best friends-eg. Palestinian genocide silent accepting) and supplying the "beast" with the resources - that is what Cs meant, imo, when stating that Russia is being a "hidden" part of NWO.

Avala,
That is the confirmation that our economy for the last 15 years has not become high tech production/innovations based, but continuing to depend on raw resources exports. Can you imagine that euro falls by 40% in a couple of month and European citizens just silently sitting and "applauding" their's leadership? Income (consumer spending power) of Russian obyvatels basically fell down by 40% as long as we mostly depend on import goods.

Siberia,
The main reason for such a fall of national currency-is a falling oil price (Great marker of economic deeds!). Reffering to 'genius' palace economists that vote for rouble fall is inadequate - the only way out for our government to close a huge gap in budget - is to drop the rouble against the dollar in a short run. But later on it will lead to a decrease in economic development and consumer activity in general-basically a stupid (but inevitable for our "great experts") thing to do strategic wise. "Patriotic" and poor bankers are even proposing to start a printing money program like it was in US. According to a broken email account of aide of vice-premier Shyvalov- banks are on the verge of catastrophe. http://top.rbc.ru/finances/31/10/2014/5452a97ecbb20f36d763d677#xtor=AL-%5Binternal_traffic%5D--%5Brbc.ru%5D-%5Bmain_body%5D-%5Bitem_7

Interesting to know what major consumer necessities are produced in your area and in what proportions to imports.
You did not reply to one of my questions - do you feel confidence in tomorrow's life in the light of such economic down-ride? Please be honest with yourself and us.

Sorry for a little off topic remark- concurrently I happened to get to hospital with appendix removal. As soon as the government is liquidating "unprofitable" hospitals there are no empty places in chambers and patients have to sleep along the corridors on benches. Brilliant reforms - I hope, Siberia, you would not have to confront similar situation.

Siberia and Anthony, thank you both on your opinions.

Actually, I am too more for a "floating" currency which means that it is really based on commodity (oil and gas in case of Russia) and not just "fiat money" (proclaimed value by the government, based on nothing, just as is US dollar. And which is good only when economy behind it is in expansion which could be achieved only by the war). The inflation by itself doesn't mean much for the standard of citizens, there is more inputs which are important, and in the case of Russia I don't see them. Which is good.

You know, in many other countries there are no Siberias and Anthonys who can told us their different views. No opposition. Its just either Siberia or Anthony, and that's what the government says. That is also one more plus for the Russia :)

I think it's more than this. Just saw a tweet in Russian that says:

Весь мир сходит с ума от Путина. Любому невинному жесту придаётся планетарной важности толкование. Чувствуют реальную власть, суки.

Putin drives the whole world crazy. Any innocent gesture is being interpret with the importance on the planetary scale. They feel the real power, those b**ches.

It's a good "in a nutshell" description of what's going on. And that's why I think that it doesn't really matter if Russia will be able to avoid or overcome this or any other crisis. Meaning, that even if there will be hard times in Russia, the only people that will continue to whine will be the paid "5th column". That's what the West and its psychos fail to understand - that the key point of Putin's politics is giving people a meaning. That's why he talks about love and makes sure to give an example of the appropriate behavior. And that's why he created the new Unity Day holiday.

It's because Russians are at their best during hard times, especially if there is a higher meaning behind them. Just look at WWII. That's why the 90's were so devastating, because it was the time of total moral bankruptcy. And that's why despite all the foreign hooplah Putin is going to succeed, simply because when Europe is promoting nihilism and various filth like giant green butt plugs, and US has Miley Cyrus and her porno shows to offer, Putin talks about mutual respect, friendship and love of motherland. And it doesn't matter if many Russians cannot afford to buy blue cheese, as long as they have something higher to believe in.

It is a brilliant political move, no doubt, but still better than the mediocrity and falseness of the West.

...or a thousand other possibilities. Here's one: Putin doesn't know what the "real destiny" of your country is; only God does.

By the way, please do not take the Cs' word as Gospel. The "objective meaning" of what they say depends on context, it depends on the question, it depends on the way the question was asked, it depends on who was present, it depends on the level of understanding of the questioner at that time, it depends on the conceptual framework of the questioner (ie, their vocabulary).

You must learn to think for yourself. Black-and-white thinking is constricting and limits your growth.

Hm, considering Ruble devaluation, maybe it is just about time for Moscow (and Beijing?) to release some of their dollar reserves?

Interestingly enough, Putin talked about trading in yuan and rubles with Asian countries at the recent APEC conference: http://www.sott.net/article/288819-Putins-APEC-speech-Increased-cooperation-with-Asia-and-how-trading-in-rubles-and-yuan-will-weaken-dollar

Yes, Keit, thanks for your great comment. It were those hardships that taught us empathy, compassion, the sense of unity. I am very grateful to my destiny for those lessons. I don't regreat anything, on the contrary: only through the suffering comes understanding of the true human values. It is only through burning that the clay becomes as strong as rock.

There is one more example which is worth sharing, imo. We all know the famous love holiday: St. Valentine's Day. I like this holiday, it's very romantic and helps people to express their best feelings and emotions. But it is also a bit frivolous and careless, because it mostly promotes romance rather than serious relationships.

In 2008, Russia introduced a new holiday - in addition to St. Valentine's Day - the Day of Family, Love and Faithfulness. It is dedicated to Russian Saints: King Peter and Queen Fevronia. You may wish to learn about the history of this holiday:

The Day of Saints Peter and Fevronia since the days of Kievan Rus and until 1917, was broad celebrated in Russia because it was believed that the saints Peter and Fevronia are the patrons of marriage and family, as well as the symbols of love and fidelity. On this day it was common to go to church, where people asked for love and family grace.

As tells the Tale of Peter and Fevronia of Murom (which literary treatment relates to the period of the mid-16th century), Duke Peter was the second son of Duke Yuri Vladimirovich of Murom. He ascended the throne in 1203. A few years before Peter’s principality he became seriously ill that no one could cure him. One day the duke had a dream that he can be healed by the girl Fevronia.

Fevronia (Greek Φεβρωνία) was beautiful, pious and good, plus she was a wise woman, she knew the properties of herbs and could cure ailments. The prince fell in love with Fevronia and vowed to marry her after the healing. The girl cured the duke but he did not keep his word. Then again he was defeated by the disease and Fevronia cured him once again. And this time the duke married the girl.

After the death of his brother Peter inherited the throne. The nobles (or boyars) respected his duke, but the haughty the nobles’ wives disliked Fevronia, not wanting to be ruled by the peasant. The nobles demanded that the duke had left her. Peter, after he heard of the intentions of separating him from the beloved wife, chose to voluntarily relinquish the power and wealth and go with her in exile. So Peter and Fevronia left Murom.

Soon the unrest began in Murom, nobles were quarreling, fighting for the throne. Then they came around, gathered a council and invited the duke and his wife back. The duke and duchess returned and Fevronia managed to earn the love of the urban counterparts. They ruled after that long and happily.

In his declining years, Peter and Fevronia took the vows in various monasteries and asked God to die in one day. They bequeathed to bury them in a specially prepared coffin with a thin partition in the middle.

Peter and Fevronia died each in his cell in a one day and hour – on 8 July 1228. But people have recognized the wicked to bury the monks in one coffin and have broken the will of the dead: their bodies were placed in the different realms. But the very next day they were found together. Twice their bodies were carried out to the different churches, but twice they miraculously were found side by side. And the spouses were buried together in the city of Murom at the cathedral church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin.

Since that time the history of the spouses of Peter and Fevronia is the embodiment of the unquenchable love and loyalty and every year on 8 July the Orthodox Church celebrates the memory of Saints Peter and Fevronia.

You may also wish to watch how we celebrate this holiday: this is the river Oka, Murom. The children are singing a very famous Russian song - Hallelujah to Love. The song is about the true meaning of life, it is in Russian:

Keit,
That type of posts out there - is exactly what I mean when I say that "words" contradict the deeds. He may nicely continue bla-bla a lot (his speech writers and press service are not there for nothing), but his doings are worth a little domestic wise.
By the way, Keit, how did our exchange rate rally affect Belorussian ruble? Last time i was in Minsk in the beginning of October-we did not observe such a drastic plunge yet.

Kniall,
I do not take Cs comments as the only and straightforward answer. I do analyze them from different angles.

Siberia,
You almost always try to avoid direct answers when being asked. Just emotional (forgive me if I am wrong - Newagey notes and tone- Love, love, love , and only then knowledge) replies.

I already gave you plenty of direct answers with lots of facts from the most reliable sources. But since you prefer to deny everything, what's the point to continue? ;)

Now that we've touched the subject of love - for the first time, by the way - let me ask you to directly answer my question: do you love Russia? Or is it new-agey for you?

I found an interesting piece of information regarding the Swedish submarine hunt that has been going on for decades. The source is a guy called Ola Tunander. Not surprisingly, it seems like the PSYOP for demonizing Russia in Sweden goes way back. There also seems to be a link to the assassination of Olof Palme (because he tried to oppose these forces).

From Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ola_Tunander
Ola Tunander (born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1948) is a research professor at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO, Norway). He is the son of Museum Director Ingemar Tunander and his first wife Gunvor (born Lilja). Ola Tunander is married to the Chinese scholar Yao Xiaoling. He has written and edited 12 books and a number of articles on security politics, naval strategy, submarine operations, geopolitics, dual state, psychological operations (PSYOP) and Cold War history. He has initiated[citation needed] east-west dialogue conferences.

Now, have a look what it says further down:

Submarines and PSYOPs

Tunander's study of covert political structures goes back to his experience of high profile submarine activities in Swedish archipelagos and naval bases in the 1980s. His books from the 1980s accepted the official view. In 1983, Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme protested against the "Soviet intrusions". He was forced to cancel his policy and deep-freeze Sweden's diplomatic relations to Moscow.[17] In 1980, 8% of the Swedes viewed the Soviet Union as a direct threat and 33% considered the Soviets as hostile. After a stranded Soviet submarine in 1981 and primarily after a dramatic anti-submarine operation in 1982 with midget submarines inside Swedish naval bases, these figures changed to 42% and 83% respectively,[18] which forced Sweden to deep-freeze its Soviet ties. However, in the 1990s, Tunander was told by U.S. and British officials that these operations were run by the U.S. and the U.K. In 2000, former U.S. Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger and former U.K. Navy minister Keith Speed stated on Swedish TV that their subs had operated "regularly" and "frequently" in Swedish waters to test Swedish defenses after navy-to-navy consultations.[19] This information was confirmed by British Chief of Defence Intelligence Air Marshal Sir John Walker.[20] Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Vigleik Eide, and Secretary General of NATO George Robertson added that these were not NATO operations but operations under national command (U.S. and U.K.).[21]

This led to a Swedish Government inquiry under Sweden's former Washington Ambassador Rolf Ekéus with Ambassador Mathias Mossberg as Secretary and with Tunander as a civilian expert.[22] Tunander wrote a Swedish book Hårsfjärden (2001), articles for the Swedish Journal of War Sciences, the Zürich-based Parallel History Project,[23] and an English volume for the Frank Cass Naval History Series The Secret War against Sweden: US and British Submarine Deception in the 1980s (2004), which emphasized the submarines' role to change Swedish public opinion and foreign policy. Tunander argued that Soviet submarines might very well have entered Swedish waters, but the more visible operations were most likely PSYOPs decided by a U.S. "deception operation committee" chaired by CIA Director William Casey, and some of them were run by a CIA-Navy liaison office, National Underwater Reconnaissance Office, headed by Secretary of Navy John Lehman.[24]

The reception of the PSYOPs analysis

The Danish Government Inquiry on the Cold War (2005)[25] and the Finnish Cold War History (2006)[26] based their analysis on Tunander's works, which provoked a debate. The author of the Danish inquiry and the authors of the Finnish and Norwegian Cold War histories wrote forewords to Tunander's volume Spelet under ytan (The Game beneath the Surface) for the Swedish Cold War history project (2007). A French-German TV-documentary[27] (by Arte and ZDF, 2005) was largely based on Tunander's work and aired all over Europe.[28] In 2007-2008, Swedish TV aired documentaries based on Tunander's work and The Sunday Times in Britain presented his work. This provoked a controversy. The Royal Swedish Society of Naval Sciences and the Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences organized seminars. Sweden's former chief of defense and former chief of staff wrote articles against Tunander.[29] Tunander was supported by Ambassador Mossberg, the Submarine Inquiry Secretary, who wrote a book I mörka vatten: Hur det svenska folket fördes bakom ljuset i ubåtsfrågan (In Dark Waters: How the Submarines were used to Deceive the Swedish People) (Stockholm, 2009) with a cover text by Ambassador Ekéus. Mossberg similar to the Danish Government Inquiry and the German TV documentary stressed Tunander's argument that some operations were very likely U.S. and U.K. PSYOPs.

Tunander received similar support from Finnish President Mauno Koivisto, who called the operations "provocations" and recalled Soviet leader Yuri Andropov telling him that the Swedes should sink every intruding submarine, so they could see themselves what turned up.[30] Prime Minister Palme never pointed to the Soviets after his conversation with President Koivisto in August 1983.[citation needed] Tunander was supported by French Naval historian Alexandre Sheldon-Duplaix and former U.S. attaché to Moscow Captain Peter Huchthausen.[31] The Swedish controversy, however, is still ongoing with a volume written by Sweden's former Chief of Defence General Bengt Gustafsson 2010.[32] and with a public debate between general Gustafsson and Foreign Minister Carl Bildt on the one hand and Tunander, Ambassador Mossberg, and Ambassador Ekéus on the other.[33]

You can read the interview with Weinberger in the book "The Secret War Against Sweden: US and British Submarine Deception in the 1980s" on google books HERE.

I also found an article by Tunander (I'm reading it now) called "Some Remarks on the US/UK Submarine Deception In Swedish Waters in the 1980s", which you can view here:

http://www.fredsakademiet.dk/library/tunander.pdf

Abstract

After a Soviet Whiskey submarine was stranded in 1981 in the Swedish archipelago, massive submarine intrusions took place within Swedish waters – later described as the first Soviet military initiative against a Western European state since the Berlin crisis.1 After a dramatic hunt in 1982, a parliamentary commission stated that six Soviet submarines had ‘played their games’ in the Stockholm archipelago – one even in Stockholm harbour. The Swedish government protested strongly, and relations between the two countries were icy for several years.2

Today, all evidence for Soviet intrusions appears to have been manipulated, or simply invented. Classified documents point to covert US and UK activity. Former US secretary of defense Caspar Weinberger stated that Western submarines operated ‘regularly’ and ‘frequently’ in Swedish waters in order to ‘test’ the Swedish coastal defences, and former British navy minister Sir Keith Speed confirms the existence of such operations. Royal Navy submarine captains admit having carried out top-secret operations in Swedish waters, and that a member of Cabinet signed approval for every single operation.

In a new book, The Secret War Against Sweden – US and British Submarine Deception in the 1980s, published by Frank Cass (Naval Series), I discuss these problems in detail. I have used a large amount of now declassified or partly declassified documents from the submarine hunt as well as hundreds of interviews with senior officers and local commanders as well as interviews with officers and officials in various Western countries. This article is based on material from this almost 400-page volume, which also includes maps and excerpts from documents. The maps in this article are derived from this book.

* The author is a Research Professor at the International Peace Research Institute in Oslo (PRIO) and was for several years heading its Foreign and Security Policy Program. In 1987, he published a report for the Swedish Defence Research Establishment about the US Maritime Strategy and Scandinavian geopolitics, pre- supposing Soviet submarine intrusions into Swedish waters. The report was used as one of two major textbooks for the Swedish Military College. Two years later, he wrote a larger volume on the same theme, Cold Water Politics – US Maritime Strategy and Geopolitics of the Northern Front (London: Sage, 1989), he visited the Naval War College in Newport and lectured at the Center for Naval Analysis in Washington and at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. In the 1990s, more and more indications pointed to covert US and UK activities. In 2000, after US former secretary of defense Caspar Weinberger had spoken about US/NATO submarines operating ‘regularly’ and ‘frequently’ in Swedish waters, the Swedish government appointed Ambassador Rolf Ekéus as a one-man investigation of the political and military dealing with the submarine incidents. Ekéus invited Tunander as an expert to this investigation, which gave Tunander access to archival material and interviews with military officers. He also made hundreds of interviews himself for the book The Secret War Against Sweden – US and British Submarine Deception in the 1980s (London: Frank Cass 2004, pp. 392).

I have not read this tread, so I do not know if the following has been posted or or not...It's Edgar Cayce's comment on the future of Russia...

The Calling of Russia

With respect to Russia the following statements are interesting:

Q. What should be the attitude of so-called capitalist nations toward Russia?
A. The greater hope of the world will come through Russia’s religious development. The one nation or group which is closed in relationship with Russia may fare best during the gradual changes and the final settlement of conditions, as to rule of the world (February 8, 1932) 3976-10
Q. About the Russian situation?
A. As we have indicated before, a new understanding has come and will come to a troubled people. Here, because of the yoke of oppression, because of self-indulgences, another extreme has arisen. Only when there is freedom of speech, and the right to worship according to the dictates of conscience - until these come about, turmols will still be within. (June 24, 1938) 3976 - 19

The incredible Story. P. 79-80

... For changes are coming, this may be sure – an evolution, or revolution in the ideas of religious thought. The basis of it for the world will eventually come out of Russia; not communism, no! But rather that which is the basis of the same, as the Christ taught – His kind of communism! (1930) No. 452-6

In Russia there comes the hope of the world, not as that sometimes termed of the communistic, or Bolshevik, no; but freedom, freedom! That each man will live for his fellow man! The principle has been born. It will take years for it to be crystallised, but out of Russia comes again the hope of the world. (1944) No.

Siberia,
Loving my Motherland indeed, but is not the same as loving the regime, which makes the people in my country to degrade and suffer.
All the way you tried to defend the deeds of "great czar", using pro government sources (couple of last days i had to watch on TV governmental controlled channels-it is the same as BBC, CNN - slogan Hail the King no matter what- zombie ящик 'box') without giving the issue a critical analysis. If it is the way you suppose it should be done- then objective "researcher" status is not for you- only Одобрямс ("blind justifying").
