The following helps to explain other questions discussed or noticed in this thread. It turns out someone in Denmark has noticed that the perpetual policy of blaming the Russians serves very well to stifle local debate. It was written by the opinion editor fr

It is the fault of the Russians
Mads Kastrup. editor of opinions at Ekstrabladet, writes about politics, culture, and society.

It is their fault.

They conspire against us. The Russians are behind or have manifestly a hand in virtually all the stir in the West. Any European election and any debate is manipulated through robot-profiles, that generates ’fake news’ on the social media, it is said.

Hasn't this become a too convenient explanation, I would like to ask.

For example, the Prime Minister, Lars Løkke, left Monday for Morocco and signed a migration pact, which has, to put it mildly, been marinated in dissatisfaction on domestic social media.

A bad case for the Prime Minister, apparently. But the Ministry of Foreign Affairs allowed a leak to the Althing.dk, that ’Facebook-bots’ probably had a part in the criticism. The Alting gave uncritically the story wings. Others flew with it.

Løkke could then without being direct - imply that ’someone had turned on’ dissatisfaction with the Migrations Pact. There was talk about a dangerous influence of attitudes here. Løkke did not even have to say the Russians. For that he had people, he had the media.

I do not doubt the Russians like to interfere. And do influence. The French government has initiated a study of possible Russian influence on the violent demonstrations in several French cities in recent weeks. And the great beast of revelation - beyond the Brexit beast - is as well known how much the Russians had in the election of Donald Trump as American president. It is still in committee.
The last paragraph shows something quite common, at least in parts of Scandinavia; people will discover something rotten in their own backyard, but be convinced the world as a whole is honest and decent. Many can not imagine how deep it goes. One could also interpret the last paragraph as a caveat, in order to prepare the minds of people very convinced of what they read about Russia to even consider his suggestion that "It's the Russian" card is being misused.
He continues:
But hardly every criticism or stir in the West can be attributed to the Russians. Or 'unknown forces', as it is sometimes called when Russians are intended.

Altinget presented five of allegedly 16 profiles, which a ministerial review meant were bots. They probably were too. But when one investigates them, none of the five facebook profiles - left in the Alting's letterbox by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - show clear evidence that they have manipulated the migration debate. Yes, no signs of major activity in any relevant context exist.

Nevertheless, there was great uproar and praise for the Alting. With remarks like 'scary'. And in addition, 'good work'. In spite of the angle of the history and the reactions to this, it showed most of all, how passivating speculation about "Russian interference" works on the media. It has turned into something like commanding a dog to 'sit!' .
[...]
He ends by referring to the news that there was little influencing going on via automated bots on a platform like Facebook.
The above version was translated from a blog Det er russernes skyld – Ekstra Bladet Actually I found a picture of the article, in which the language is somewhat more elaborated. The blog has probably served as a draft for the final article and probably some language editors have been working to perfect the wording. When I translated parts of the text using a machine, whether Google or Yandex, there were quite a few errors. Perhaps it is because "the draft" is closer to informal speech and uses phrases and ways of spelling that the machines are unfamiliar with. This hypothesis could be tested by entering the written text into the same machines and compare.

When I looked up Jordan Peterson on Youtube, I came across an interview done in Denmark in early November last year. In the comments to the video, there was one by a Troels Petersen who wrote:
A Dane here. Biased as heck, so now you know;) This is a typical good interview from Denmark. Scandinavia consists of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Sweden is, the only country that has gender neutral kindergardens etc (to my knowledge), and Danes normally make fun of Swedes because of their super political correctness and super feminism. They exist here of course, but are no way nearly as strong as in Sweden. It's fun to see the JP interview in Sweden (google "jordan peterson Skavlan"), and see how far apart these two interviews are. The Danish interview has no desire of portraying JP in a negative light, but is only examining. The Swedish interview on the other hand is almost comical, because no one really understands what he is talking about etc. Even though Denmark and Sweden are right next to each other, their cultures are actually pretty different, There was also a news article about him, that was very un-biased and informative. It just talked about him being both hated and loved, and then described his views on certain issues.
As I wondered about the differences he points out and still present between the situation in Sweden and Denmark, it came to mind that the negative experiences in Denmark during and since the Napoleonic wars, including being on the loosing side of Napoleon, two wars with Germany, and WW1 and WW2, might have affected the way people on average interact with reality. To tell the truth, I don't know, but there must be some explanation. In any case below are the sections of the interviews, in case anyone is interested:

This is what the poster wrote about Jordan Peterson and meeting him:
This interview was recorded on November 6th in Copenhagen, Denmark, during JBP's visit to give a lecture at Bremen Theater the same evening. A great lecture and Q&A, by the way. I had the honor of meeting him and exchanging a couple of words with him. The energy surrounding him is that of genuine kindness, something I find to be very rare. Enjoy.

After posting the previous comment on a comment to a video with Jordan Peterson, I actually watched it, and that was a good idea, because it is a great discussion of the social situation in Scandinavia and is packed with knowledge! Rather than hiding the video behind small blue hyperlinks, why not give it some visual exposure:

Sweden has as most have seen, on the forefront when in comes to SJW and postmodernism. The article below shows how a totalitarian state cracks down on free speech and also the various dubious people they are happy to employ to do the thought control.
'Hate Speech' Convictions Soar Tenfold As Sweden Cracks Down On Migration Critics
'Hate Speech' Convictions Soar Tenfold As Sweden Cracks Down On Migration Critics

Authored by Emma R. via VoE,
Head of online hate speech monitoring group “Näthatsgranskaren” Tomas Åberg receives tax funds for mass reporting pensioners and others who write critically about migration on Facebook.

And now he claims that his reports to the police have resulted in almost 150 hate speech convictions.

“1,218 police reports 2017-2018. 144 hate speech sentences, from 214 notifications. Many are waiting for prosecution!”, writes “Näthatsgranskaren” (The Online Hate Speech Monitor) on Twitter.
According to the article, the state sponsor, MUCF (Myndigheten för ungdoms- och civilsamhällesfrågor) also finances left wing extremist organisations, such as Expo, whose founder, Stieg Larsson, is known for his far left political activism according to wikipedia.

The group also states that its state-financed operations have led to a tenfold increase in the number of hate speech convictions in Sweden, reports Fria Tider.

Over the year, they further “researched, collaborated, and lectured on, among others, the Council of Europe’s conference on criminal online hate speech”, they claim.

The authority MUCF, which finances left-wing extremist organisations such as Expo, has so far granted just over €150.000 in contributions to the Online Hate Speech Monitor.

The person running this group to promote political correct speech and against hate speech happens to be a person who tortured his own animals to death.
The group is run by Tomas Åberg, who a few years ago was investigated for extensive animal cruelty but escaped charges by avoiding being served the lawsuit.

One wonders what kind of contacts this person has in order to avoid being served a lawsuit in such a case. Somebody higher up perhaps saw his potential value as a bigoted crazed zealot needed by the totalitarian state. Reminds me of Ponerology and how pathological deviants fill up the positions of power.

The bizarro world continues as this person was nominated for the “Swedish Hero” award

Most of the contribution from MUCF goes to paying his salary.

Last spring, Åberg was nominated for the “Swedish Hero” award by one of Sweden’s major newspapers Aftonbladet.

However, the nomination was withdrawn when it was discovered that he had tortured his own animals to death.

The fact that the “Swedish Hero” event was sponsored by the pet insurance company Agria, probably had something to do with the decision to disqualify him.

Some positive news from Scandinavia:

Iceland Did Not Go Nuts for Dunkin’ Donuts

All four Dunkin’ Donuts locations in Iceland have now been closed. According to Sigurður Karlsson, the CEO of Basko, ehf. – the company which also owns and operates Iceland’s 10-11 convenience store chain – the shuttering comes as a result of high operational costs. “It’s a disappointment, of course, but not everything you try is going to work out.” Some employees would be laid off, he said, while others would be transferred to new positions elsewhere within the company.

Dunkin’ Donuts had four locations in Iceland: one in Reykjavík’s Kringlan shopping mall, one in a 10-11 in Kópavogur, one in Reykjanesbær, and another in the Keflavík airport. All four closed on New Year’s. The chain’s first location in the country opened in summer of 2015 on Reykjavík’s main street, Laugavegur, but closed on November 1, 2017.
“The reception was good at the beginning,” remarked Sigurður, but even with selling their brand name doughnuts to other stores around Iceland (bringing the total number of Dunkin’ Doughnuts-selling locations to 11), “high labor costs, operational costs, and production costs” were, he concluded, too high to sustain the venture.

Sigurður notes that the Dunkin’ Donuts’ difficulties are not restricted to Iceland. The chain has also had problems making inroads all over Europe, with the number of locations in Denmark having been reduced and all locations in Sweden having closed as well.

In Sweden it is forbidden to have anything about religion on your number plates. So when a man wanted to honor Jesus Christ on his plates with the name "Christ" it was deemed offensive. The universe is not without a sense of humor as the man was called Cesar.

A Christian man who wanted to hail Jesus Christ with his number plate has been denied this opportunity by the Swedish Transport Agency, which admittedly bans all customised number plates that have to do with religion.
Cesar Kisangani Makombe from Frölunda wanted "Christ" on his number plate but was turned down by the Transport Agency. "The sign combination you requested can be perceived as offensive", the authority wrote in its decision, according to the news portal Göteborg Direkt.
"All Western countries say they are Christian. In Sweden, there are many churches and we even have a cross on the national flag. But when you want to show that you are a Christian, they say no because it is offensive. I don't understand that", a frustrated Cesar Kisangani Makombe told Göteborg Direct.
According to Swedish Transport Agency press officer Mikael Andersson, it is the religious connection that is problematic.
"We deny any words that we believe can cause offence. Among other things, we say no to everything that has religious insinuations, no matter what it is. It is a consistent opinion from our side", Mikael Andersson told the news outlet.

Cesar Kisangani Makombe also tried a "Jesus" license plate, but that option had already been blocked. On the Swedish Transport Agency's web-service, "Christ" is now blocked alongside "God" and other similarly-themed words, the news outlet Nyheter Idagreported.
The Swedish Transport Agency's decision cannot be appealed.
"As a Christian, we shouldn't wage a war with the powers that be, instead we have to pray for them", Cesar Kisangani Makombe said humbly.
Christianity was been the dominant religion of virtually all of the Swedish population from the Middle Ages to the mid-20th century, but has rapidly declined over the past decades. Since 1951, freedom of religion has been enshrined in Swedish law. As of 2017, only 59.3 percent of the Swedish population were registered with the official Church of Sweden, with the percentage decreasing annually by over a percertage point.

And in Denmark it is on the move. Today there was an article about an associate professor who has taught biology for 30 years. His students have been so offended by his statistics based on biological difference with regard to men and women that they have complained to the University administration, and he has had to take this into account when teaching. He is asking if we have reached a point where one no longer is allowed to use "he/male" and "she/female" about humans. Sounce.

Sweden is again in the news. Sweden has been very open with their borders and welcomed refugees with open arms, while casting a blind eye to the increase in crime and violence that has followed, even deliberately censoring words that would associate Islam with it. Today another article highlighted this tendency of controlled speech.

The story of Rahaf Mohammed, an 18-year-old Saudi girl who has become an international media darling for her flight to the West from "persecution", aired by Swedish national broadcaster SVT has made Swedes see red.
In their piece on Rahaf Mohammad, the Saudi refugee girl who claimed to have suffered "abuse" back home due to her non-conformist behaviour, SVT omitted the reference to Islam, triggering many Swedes' ire.
In the interview aired by SVT Aktuellt, Rahaf Mohammed said that she was kept locked up for six months after getting a short haircut and suffered abuse from her brother and her mother. The reason for it, she claimed, is that short haircuts for women are forbidden in Islam, because it makes women look like men.
However, SVT's translation left out the Islam reference completely, with words "Islam" and "haram" ("forbidden" in Arabic) conspicuously absent from the subtitles, despite clearly being uttered by the teen.

This mismatch was first observed by Sweden Democrat politician Kent Ekeroth, who compared the Swedish translation with the original English subtitles and summed up his findings in a piece in the news outlet Samhällsnytt, raising suspicions about state-sponsored censorship.
Ekeroth's revelations made his compatriots spew bile at SVT's coverage and vent their outrage over the obligatory "TV tax" all Swedes have had to pay since New Year, regardless of whether they own a TV or not.
"A strong start", Ekeroth himself smirked on Twitter.

"It's like doing away with the word 'Nazism' in a report about World War II survivors! Or 'communism' in a report about the Soviet Union", user Mikael Nilsson reacted.
Blogger Hanna Lindholm, who identifies as "right-wing feminist", suggested that SVT has "gone nuclear" since their funding was guaranteed by the tax.
Some compared SVT's "angled" coverage with that of the Communist era. To expand on this reference, one user posted an "updated" SVT logo with a hammer and sickle and corrupted Cyrillic letters, whereas another user mockingly spelled out SVT (originally "Sveriges Television") as "Stasi Vision TV".

Others ventured that SVT's handling of the news content in accordance with its so-called "value base" was tantamount to "fake news". Yet another recurrent theme in the comments was that Sweden had allegedly "caved in" for Islam.

Rahaf Mohammed was offered asylum in Canada after a week's limbo in Bangkok, which she spent barricaded in a hotel room. As a token of an irrevocable breakaway from her family, she renounced her surname, al-Qulun, and quit Islam. Since then, she reports that she's received threats on the Internet.
SVT is the Swedish national public television broadcaster; it is funded by a public service tax on personal income and largely modelled after the BBC.

In Denmark there has been a commission about Denmark's involvement in the Iraq war. Just to recap, the Danish prime minister at the time, Anders Fogh Rasmussen was a strong ally of Bush and pushed a vote through after having said that it was certain that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. This proved as we knew back then and which was later shown to be a complete lie. But Anders Fogh Rasmussen got the reward and became afterwards the chief for NATO. Here is the article in which the commission found that yes, he lied and withheld evidence to push the war through.

Danish Gov't Muddled Waters Over Iraq Invasion to Fulfil US Wishes - Report

Prior to Copenhagen's controversial decision to enter the Iraq War, important data was withheld from the Danish parliament, a comprehensive report, which took several years to compile, has found. Furthermore, information about Iraq's alleged WMDs, which were never found despite various intelligence reports, was distorted.
Denmark's liberal-conservative government led by Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who later became NATO's secretary general, failed to pass on important information to the foreign policy committee ahead of Denmark's controversial US-led engagement in Iraq in 2003, a several hundred page-long report, compiled by researchers from the University of Copenhagen, has stated.
These wilful omissions gave parliament an "incomplete picture" of the situation, the report found. Denmark's contribution to military operations abroad generally reflects the decision-makers' desire to accommodate the US wishes, the historic report also stated.
Firstly, the Fogh government failed to inform parliament of the very purpose of invading Iraq. The government knew in advance that the US' goal war was to railroad a regime change and overthrow Saddam Hussein. By contrast, then-Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen and Foreign Minister Per Stig Møller repeatedly stressed that the alleged goal was to disarm Baghdad's apparent weapons of mass destruction (WMD) infrastructure, the researchers stressed.

"However, it appears from both embassy reports and other information such as internal notes that the US' goal was a regime change," the report said.

Secondly, the Danish government concealed prior reports that the war in Iraq would have serious consequences for the local population and sow chaos throughout the region. The Danish government received intel reports from the Defence Intelligence Service (FE), which predicted that the war would "destabilise the region, dissolve the Iraqi state, trigger terror and demand long-term involvement".
Thirdly, as associate professor Rasmus Mariager put it during the presentation of the report, the legal aspects were "adapted to political reality". While the Danish government assured there was sufficient legal basis for going to war, it was actually a political estimate, not a fact, researchers stressed.
Fourthly, the government failed to inform the foreign policy committee that Anders Fogh Rasmussen already had a personal meeting with then-US Deputy Defence Minister Paul Wolfowitz on 22 March 2002, a year before the invasion got underway. Back then, Fogh allegedly promised Denmark's support for the invasion in the making.
Lastly, the Danish government exaggerated the trustfulness of the information, passing assessments as secure knowledge. As Anders Fogh Rasmussen stated at a press conference on 20 March 2003: "Iraq has weapons of mass destruction. It's not something we just think. We know it".
The war investigation took two years to compile, and was led by associate professor Rasmus Mariager and professor Anders Wivel, both from the University of Copenhagen. In addition to Iraq, it also evaluated politician decisions on Kosovo (1998) and Afghanistan (2001), which resulted in the death of dozens Danish soldiers.
The researchers found that Denmark was quick to show solidarity with the US in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks, despite the absence of pressure from Washington.

The report doesn't aim to apportion legal responsibility or point a finger. By contrast, the Iraq and Afghanistan Commission had this opportunity, but was closed down when Venstre returned to power in 2015.
According to Red-Green alliance foreign policy spokeswoman Eva Flyvholm, the findings of the investigation call for a inquiry, which may call in witnesses and place legal responsibility accordingly.
"It is now quite clear that the Fogh government withheld information about the Iraq war and that the truth was distorted for the parliament. It is a serious scandal that must be thoroughly investigated", Eva Flyvholm told the Jyllands-Posten newspaper.
Copenhagen University professor Ole Wæver called the Iraq war "one of the biggest blunders of modernity".
Denmark decided to join the war against Iraq on 21 March 2003, by the narrowest possible majority backed by Venstre, the Conservatives and the Danish People's Party. The same day, the US-led coalition started to bomb Iraq. The Danish ground contingent was deployed in Iraq between June 2003 and July 2007, peaking at about 550 men. Denmark's military involvement in Iraq was estimated to cost DKK 2.4 billion (circa $370 million at the current exchange rate). Eight Danish soldiers lost their lives during this period.

The US-led and Danish-backed invasion effectively toppled Hussein, displaced hundreds of thousands of people, plunged the nation into chaos and sectarian violence, and exacerbated ethnic and religious tensions in the region.

----
The last sentence distorts the truth as there were several millions people who were displaced and several hundred of thousands if not more than a million killed.

Returning from the NATO Trident Juncture strategic exercise, a Norwegian frigate collided with a tanker.
The warship, one of Norway’s five top modern frigates, was on her way home to Haakonsvern naval base, but it is still a mystery why the well-equipped warship couldn’t avoid colliding with the 250 meters long oil tanker just north of the oil terminal.
An update to this story as they are starting to detonate the munitions that could not be recovered:
The multimillion-dollar warship Helge Ingstad sank in the aftermath of a major NATO drill, resulting in a bitter loss for the Norwegian Navy. The exact causes of the catastrophe have yet to be established.
The Norwegian Navy has removed the remaining torpedoes from the KNM Helge Ingstad, which gathers rust on the seabed off the coast of Bergen, following an avoidable collision with an oil tanker last November.
About half of the frigate's weaponry was removed, taken inland and destroyed at a landfill site, the Norwegian Armed Forces reported. Other arms were detonated on site after a risk assessment indicated that they were too volatile to attempt to move and could jeopardise sappers' lives.

Spectacular video footage of the detonation shows jets of water spring dozens of metres into the air over freezing Hjeltefjorden.
More ammunition remains on board the warship; Whether it will be salvaged or detonated remains to be seen.
The Helge Ingstad was one of the most modern ships in Norway's Navy; it cost over $500 million dollars. Its loss admittedly undermined the Navy's defence capability.
The Helge Ingstad sank while returning from the NATO drill Trident Juncture, which was marketed as the largest on Norwegian soil in decades and gathered some 50,000 troops, 10,000 vehicles and dozens of warships.

On its way back, the Helge Ingstad, with a crew of 137, collided with a Maltese-flagged oil tanker carrying 625,000 barrels of crude oil. With a ten-metre gash in its starboard side, the frigate was towed to a shallow bay, where it became submerged. By contrast, the tanker emerged from the collision almost unscathed.

A subsequent investigation determined that the crash had been avoidable. Additionally, the rapid flooding of the vessel was classified as a safety issue, the critical errors allegedly valid for the Norwegian Navy's four remaining frigates. The Spanish shipyard vehemently denied the claims as a cover-up.

Recently there was the huge NATO military exercise known as Trident Juncture 2018 which took place in area of Norway:

Right after the games something happened to one of the four Norwegian frigates; it collided with an oil tanker.

Two crane ships early on Tuesday began raising a submerged Norwegian navy frigate which collided with an oil tanker in November and has remained stranded off Norway's west coast since, the armed forces said.

The accident injured eight people and caused the temporary closure of a North Sea crude export terminal, Norway’s top gas processing plant and several offshore fields.

Raising the Helge Ingstad, one of Norway’s five frigates, is expected to take five to six days and will require calm weather.

“The work must be synchronized, so the cranes must be completely stable, next to each other,” Norway’s armed forces said in a statement.

The armed forces have said they are evaluating whether it is possible to repair the 5,290 ton Helge Ingstad or whether they will need to order a replacement frigate.

Some countries, not least the Nordic, like to exercise virtue signalling. Yet it is often very hypocritical as other posts have shown. An article on Zerohedge shows the E-waste per country. Norway and Denmark are right in the top 3 with throwing electronic hardware/electronic gadgets away as the following chart shows:
chartoftheday_17175_e_waste_generated_per_inhabitant_in_selected_countries_n.jpg

And only 20% is recycled:
While smartphones have replaced a long list of electronic devices like MP3 players and digital cameras, that advantage is being cancelled out by a larger volume of digital devices being used by individuals, businesses and governments as well as the rate at which those devices are being replaced.

E-waste is still increasing over time, both in absolute numbers and per capita. In 2016, for example, 44.7 million metric tonnes of refrigerators, televisions, washing machines and other forms of electronic garbage was generated around the world and only 20 percent of it was recycled.

More electronic waste means more use of limited resources and more production of CO2 of which these same countries are waging a war against in the name of saving the planet (while ignoring that CO2 is plant food and that CO2 is not the culprit).

If 20% recycling is the average, then it is very likely that what is recycled in the Western countries listed above is very little compared to countries such as China and India.

It is not surprising. Perhaps a different way of looking at the statistics would be to find out how well the e-waste is recycled. I asked the person in charge of the electronic equipment at work and she told me the E-waste gets taken apart and carefully sorted for recyclable waste, like plastic, glass etc. A couple of years ago I spoke to a member of the building maintenance crew at a college, He told me that in previous years he had witnessed lap computers been thrown out en masse. New ones had arrived. Or perhaps surplus money on the budget had to be spent. One factor is that the cost of labour is so high that it is not worth while allowing old equipment to hold up the speed of work. One should however think that other parts of the world could use an older computer, but there does not seem to be much use that way. Perhaps because some computers are bought on a special contract which prohibits further use by other parties than the buyer.

In Denmark a war ship with a 160 man strong crew has been sent to the Mediterranean to help guard a French hangar ship in its battle against ISIS ... You know ISIS has a huge naval fllet threatening the French hangar ship!?! Dansk krigsskib i fransk tjeneste informs us that:

On Monday the Danish warship Niels Juel will join a French carrier group I the Mediterranean. The Danish warship and its crew of 160 soldiers, according to defense command "to protect the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle".

It will be joining the carrier group in the fight against the Islamic State in the eastern Mediterranean, the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the northern Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf.
More like fight against Iran? Securing oil routes?

The group will consist of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and, in addition, expected to French escorts, as the French submarine and a French tanker. Support is also expected from a British destroyer and a Portuguese frigate. In addition, there are about 30 ship based planes and helicopters.
[...]
So far the Parliament has had to approve if Danish warships are to participate in the Naval Forces of foreign countries. But from now on, the minister of defence can only consult with the Foreign Policy Committee.
[...]
The Danish ships will be under operational control of the NATO countries ' headquarters in whose responsibility the Fleet Forces are located. In addition to France, the United States and the United Kingdom want Denmark to send warships to their fleet.
- And it will not improve that the Danish frigates with the new defence settlement are armed with rockets. This means that they can play a much more offensive role than in the past – while at the same time the secretary of defense can now send the frigates off to NATO missions all over the world bypassing the Parliament. It's a dangerous slippery slope.

Money have to be spent, and now the military budget has been increased by 700 million Euro to reach a 1,5 % of BNP.
Altinget.dk wrote in January Sådan fandt regeringen 4,5 milliarder ekstra til Forsvaret:
Overview: the parties to the defence settlement suddenly agreed on Tuesday to raise the Danish defence budget significantly, under pressure from the United States. This is mainly done by shifting ”old money” around in the budget, but there is also ”new”. Get an overview of where the money comes from.
It seems the veneer of sovereignty is about to be replaced and commonly acknowledged as merely transparent cellophane. This year there will be election for the EU and for the local parliament, but what is the point?

Are things heating up in Denmark or is it just a passing trend?

At the end of March there was demonstration in front of the Parliament by the Hizb ut-Tahrir - Wikipedia
Hizb ut-Tahrir
(Arabic: حزب التحرير‎) (Translation: Party of Liberation) is an international, pan-Islamist political organisation, which describes its ideology as Islam, and its aim as the re-establishment of the Islamic Khilafah (Caliphate) to resume the Islamic way of life in the Muslim world. The caliphate would unite the Muslim community (Ummah)[4] upon their Islamic creed and implement the Shariah, so as to then carry the proselytising of Islam to the rest of the world.[5]

The party was founded in 1953 as a political organisation in Jerusalem by Taqiuddin al-Nabhani, an Islamic scholar and appeals court judge (Qadi)[6] from Haifa. Since then, Hizb ut-Tahrir has spread to more than 50 countries, and grown to a membership estimated to be between "tens of thousands"[1] to "about one million".[2]

They are relatively marginal in the United States, but their ideology shows that while they do not advocate violent means (they consider themselves a political, intellectual movement), their end goal is the same as the "rebels" in Syria: the creation of an "Islamic State" in the Middle East, thus their support of the "rebels". Gadaffi and Assad both went after this group in the years before the "revolutions" in both countries. There's a video of Ibn Thbait discussing the Syrian "opposition" with Ali Harfouch in 2013. In Part 1, Harfouch makes clear that all the fighting groups are Islamists advocating the creation of an Islamic state (the only secularists are exiles in suits living in foreign countries). In Part 2, Harfouch states:
Hizb ut-Tahrir is deeply rooted in the Syrian revolution and it is constantly coordinating with key figures, whether it's from the quote-unquote radical Islamic movement in terms of providing them advisory [sic] or with the quote-unquote more moderate movement in certain terms of warning them not to fall into neoliberal plots and so forth. [HuT's] role has been to orient the revolution ...
It's an interesting discussion, worth watching. They say that HuT maintains the "purity" of the revolution in Syria, subverting the U.S.'s aims of installing "moderate" groups in power and marginalizing the "radical Islamists" who are attempting to "uproot the political structures/neolib politics", i.e., "excluding Islam". So ironically, the very "moderate" groups we hear about in the news (e.g., Ahrar al-Sham, Noureddin al-Zenki, etc.) are ideologically opposed to those who could even remotely be considered "moderate", and actually disdain the U.S.'s alleged plans for Syria. It's kind of funny how much these guys resemble the neoliberal ideologues and social justice warriors in their apparent naivete about what exactly they are supporting with their respective "revolutions"...

At the above event there was also the presence of critics of Islam, including nationalists, and just in general curious people. Moving forward two weeks and then last night a bomb went off in a car parked on Noerrebro and BT had this article: Osman fik sprængt sin bil i stykker i nat: »Vi er chokerede og bange«

Bombs don't yet go off everyday and nothing is known about the motives; the owner of the car, a simple house cleaner, has no enemies.

It was however known that a leader of a right wing radical party would hold a demonstration in the area this Sunday and had permission, which then in the morning, for unknown reason (but after the explosion in the above car, was withdrawn), so the party leader asked if he could hold it somewhere else and that was accepted. However very soon the right wing leader was escorted out of the new area after an attack on his person was attempted. That did not calm down the situation, it continued the throwing of stones bycycles and anything else available, the building and burning of barricades, firework rockets ... (like in Stockholm a couple of years ago). The paper Politiken carried this article Efter Rasmus Paludan-demonstration: Politiet måtte trække våben og bruge tåregas mod uromagere på Nørrebro :

So far it has cost the government three million Euros to protect the person of the Islam critical party leader according to the last lines of this article: Paludan efter angreb: Problematisk, politiet ikke har styr på situationen overhovedet It is mentioned the three million does not include the expenses of the events that happened today.

According to Voldsom uro på Nørrebro: Politiet kalder betjente ind fra Jylland og Fyn the police has this afternoon called up 40 extra people from the more rural provinces. One can guess that the police is not quite ready for major upheaval, but perhaps this has been factored in, because turning to the area of defense, (as if the above "cultural events" were not related to it), Denmark is one of the countries buying F-35 planes to be placed at an air force base in Skrydstrup in Jutland.

One problem has been that the new planes are much more noisy than the old F-16. According to one measurement it is 16 dB, which means it is about 4 times more powerful, and besides it has a lower more penetrating frequency. Now it is becoming a scandal that many more residence houses will be afflicted by the infernal noise. The State Television and Radio had this article: F35-larm overskrider støjgrænser i 895 sønderjyske boliger which mentions that while at present, 41 residences receive more noise than the limit values of the Environmental Protection Agency from the F-16, now it will be 618 on average and 895 when there are emergencies and the planes take off faster and make more noise, which with the F-16 happens around 40 times a year, .

At the same time, an expansion of the military exercise area in Jutland is planned, from 6000 Ha to 14 000 Ha. Now the military will be able to host international NATO war games. The new 8.000 Ha are at the moment protected nature reserves and will only be closed off during exercises, but how often that will be is not mentioned. In addition there will be new cannons which allegedly will have to practice shooting above residence houses, as their range is 40 km, hardly can fit into the new small war game area.

Finally, the reception of the news that Assange was dragged away from the Ecuadoran Embassy have been underwhelming. Most local medias do not yet see that there might be a discrepancy between their enthusiastic reception of the words of Alexander Solzhenitsyn some 40 years ago and their now coward attitude to Assange whose work they benefitted from along the way so handsomely. On the other hand, they have once again shown what they believe in.
