Hi.

This draws can suggest any ideas to the logo.

313 is a beautiful prime number.

wow... so much to read. i've been keeping up, but just barely.

in regards to the logo, fwiw, i really like the black and white version of the crop circle that bjorn posted.

have you guys (at SOTT HQ) come up with one yet, or are you still looking for submissions/ideas?

I like the logo too, but I think it is too intricate. A logo - at least in my idea - needs to be simple and stand out. So maybe you graphically gifted ones could try to strip the logo down to its essential structure, kind of only one band on the side and not too many concentric circles around the yin-yang symbol ...

Anyway, that's just my opinion.

Okay, Here is the color version of the complete logo:

And the B/W version of the complete logo:

Here is the basic, simplified logo:

Here it is in gold:

There are some image glitches because I took some really big files and reduced them.

nice. thanks for posting that Laura. :)

imho, the simplified version could also include the yin-yang and the lines as long as the gradients were omitted and the fills were only black and white (kind of like bjorn's version). is there a reason you decided to get rid of the extra elements in the simplified version? the difference seems quite substantial between two versions of the same logo.

I really liked the colour version! Would also make a beautiful pendant, I think
For some reason, it reminded me of the Evil Eye (_http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_eye), because of its colours. Some call it the Lucky Eye.

Yes, there is a reason. If you think about any other religion, they have a symbol that can be drawn quickly by anyone in just a couple of strokes. In fact, when looking at it, we wondered if the cross might not originally have been the center of the infinity symbol and the rest was just cut off - sort of symbolically cutting off awareness of major portions of reality.

So, something that can be drawn fast, easy, by anyone, was what we were after.

Yeah, the color version is very nice. I like it.

Same here.

There's something about the black & white that's hard to look at though, is it possible to show it to us against a white background?

Wow these symbol versions are so stunning,
especially the simple one. Great idea to have a version for easy drawing by the way.

Well fwiw, I'm looking for a longer time for an original photo of one crop circle, where it is possible to buy it, to decorate my room and eventually have something too for -positive dissociation-. And this pic is also bookmarked since a longer time and maybe it is worth sharing it:

The site is _www.temporarytemples.co.uk
And the photographers name is Steve Alexander and the pic can be found in the shop section too.

I hope my post is not too far in the advertisement area...

hadn't thought of that, it makes total sense. thanks for the clarification! :)

I see the two yin-yang symbols were rotated so as to be upright when the image was laid out horizontally instead of vertically. At first I thought having it closer to the original would look better, but then I thought about it for a bit and saw how the yin-yang symbols now look like the centers of two eyes. Eyes that see all - both "Good" and "Evil" (and thus having discernment as opposed to those that see "only good") - the eyes of Infinity, no less!

"The All blinks neither at the darkness not at the light."

Pretty sweet.

I think that the color version has a little to much 'bling' bling'

But I really like the design. :D

It bothers me that I can't say that I like the logo. I think one ying/yang symbol is sufficient and that the concept of unity somehow enclosing any 'distinctions' should be made more obvious.

Having said that, I understand that my likes and dislikes are by no means any standard of measure and that I can be content with however it comes out. My apologies if this doesn't sit well with any readers. Maybe I just need to correlate all the aspects of the logo with knowledge available in this Work. :)
