For an abridged version, simply "Life is religion".
Yes! That is exactly the idea!
Because it succinctly says it all: here is a group that calls itself a religion, but with a phrase like that, it is yet unlike any you may have encountered before. It sounds like the fellowship focuses on life rather than worshipping a deity, and so it may intrigue people who notice this.

Fellowship Of The Cosmic Mind: (where) Life is Religion.

I don't know if "where" needs to be there.

It may be due to browser settings. I could see it at home (Firefox), but can't here at work (IE)

I think it's internet explorer. I have both firefox and internet explorer, everything's fine with firefox, internet explorer doesn't open the JPEG file, it's blocking it because it's assuming it as some sort of a pop up.
I am really not fond of internet explorer...
Apropos, I looked up the fact that where I live, in Finland that is, a new religion can be registered if 20 or more people sign up. That shouldn't be too hard to accomplish, I guess. I'll try to dig up some more about the Finnish legislation for us Finns here in short.

Hmm I can't seem to find how it works like here in Holland, I'll look further though. Any Dutchies who do know?
Yeah, I join you. Will let it know if I find something.
If you can't see it, try clicking the link?
The link won't bite. The image is hosted at a particular site from which I uploaded it. It directs you to it.

BTW:If somebody still isn't able to watch that preview of mine, which was based on that crop-circle and really would like to take a look at it. Let me know I send it to you.

I was also really surprised, but in a good way, as I have positive associations with the words "church" and "religion". In fact, my involvement with this site recently gave me the courage to join a Unitarian Universalist congregation. Fortunately, the UU's don't seem to be bothered by their members belonging to other organizations as long as you respect their principles, which seem to be very compatible with those I have encountered here.

I have found that the Unitarian church has a serious purpose, but doesn't seem to take itself too seriously. A recent article that has been going around is "Unitarian Jihad": http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2005/04/08/DDG27BCFLG1.DTL

This reminds me of the tongue-in-cheek article Laura once wrote about her group being a "cult". A little gentle humor can go a long way and maybe keep an organization on the right track.

The word "fellowship" really resonates, too. I've known many people who felt a religious reverence for the Lord of the Rings story, myself included.

So, to me, this is wonderful news. My thanks to Laura and the C's!

I don’t know what process is being followed in logo selection, so I would like
to post another idea which has been with me for several days.

The logo could be an objective work of art. What are the deep symbols of reality
we wish to communicate to the minds of men and women?

The concept of esoteric circles and the spreading waves of knowledge through time and space
seem to be the aim of the Fellowship of the Cosmic Mind. The image of a pebble thrown into the water,
generating concentric waves is a simple and powerful association in the minds of human beings.

Perhaps Bjorn or another of our graphically gifted could play with the idea of five concentric circles
shaded to appear as waves around a central yin-yang symbol.

I also think the Fellowship will stand out by proclaiming itself a religion at all. Even some conventional religions seem to shy away from the word "religion" nowadays. Modern Christian sects are particularly over-sensitive to being called religious. The mindset for them is that "religion" designates something false created by man. And it's almost a dirty word, something only the "unsaved" have. A common thing to hear from one of these Christians is: "I don't have religion; I have a relationship with Jesus Christ!" It's like they're ashamed of the word and wish to bury it.

So for FOTCM to openly say "we ARE a religion," re-claiming the word as something positive - is a beautiful thing, and very different from what a lot of people will be used to. So yes, "Life is Religion" would be an excellent slogan.

Well, I seem to have a program running that tells me I'm not as wise or knowledgeable as most others here, so I should just be quiet and let more qualified members offer help. I know PART of that is true - I'm definitely not as knowledgeable as many of you. But I don't think that should stop me from contributing.

Hi Alderpax,

I think the best chance is, just jump off the fence, so to speak. Most of the members started that way (unsure, maybe unwise too), but the positive result has been, they learned through their participation.

And as you see yourself, not to take part in, because of this or that -excuse-, is "just" a program.

I agree, Gawan. It would be best to just do it. When I screw up I know I'll be corrected; in the past I've been humbled by how effectively my programs have been mirrored back to me. This forum has a dynamic feedback system, so any rough spots in members can become smoothed by interaction with other members, and any missing knowledge can be filled in (if one remains open). Thanks for the encouragement!

How about:

"Life is religion. Life experiences reflect how one interacts with God. Those who are asleep are those of little faith in terms of their interaction with the creation. Some people think that the world exists for them to overcome or ignore or shut out. For those individuals, the worlds will cease. They will become exactly what they give to life. They will become merely a dream in the "past." People who pay strict attention to objective reality right and left, become the reality of the "Future." "

For an abridged version, simply "Life is religion".

Slogan #2 passes the 'bumper sticker' test. Add logo (with site link of course) and drive! :scooter:

Bjorn, the logo is clear on Safari.

As a slogan, 'Life is religion' resonates well with me too.

'Life is religion' really resonates with me as well.

The logos all show up fine with Firefox.

Well thanks but really mine was based on this crop-circle.

To add a little background information, laura said about this crop-circle:

Actually, that is the crop circle we are working with for the logo. It actually appeared on the night that we were talking here about what kind of symbol would best represent PaleoChristianity.

So I though, let's make one based on that. See how it looks.

BTW: I think this page explains quite nicely in how a good logo can be designed-

http://www.layersmagazine.com/artistic-expression-logo-design-from-start-to-finish.html

But anyway I think using crop-circles as inspiration is fitting. I am really busy for the next 2 weeks. But I try to make a few. Who knows.

Maybe if asked to the C' if they can design one, in order to place a crop-circle? If possible of-course. (note: Some farmer is really gonna feel screwed if that happens)

I have to say that I really like the slogans.

If I can add something – FOTCM: restoring paradise.

Or is it a bit to much?...

I like it! A slogan like that could really intrigue people, making them want to investigate FOTCM further.
