Smoking is... good?

It could be the FSC, or possibly the paper or a combination of the two that is affecting you.

I smoke AS cigarette tobacco from a pipe thus avoiding both. Just a pinch in the bowl for a couple of draws is extremely economical.

Imagine a pipe here if you will! :cool2: ;D

yeah I think that could be it, I'm going to stay away from it for a few weeks to see if any changes may appear, after that I will try to smoke with a pipe.

thanks. :cool2:

Yeah, I love me my Mac Baren-filled pipe :)

And I make a point of NOT using a filter!

(Granted, it's not organic, but I'm also not smoking chemical-laden papers or through chemical-laden filters!)

Tried my first cigarette yesterday, but it didn't go too well. Got the dizziness that others have mentioned, as well as mild nausea for a few hours after. Haven't been too put off though and will try it again, perhaps with a filter next time. Rolled one ciggy and cut it in half, with around 4 - 5 hours between them.

That no one else was there to share the experience was a shame. From the fumbling when attempting to roll the cig, burning my fingers and dropping it, trying to remember to cool the smoke before inhaling, as well as not letting it escape through my nose before doing so - all too good to miss. On top of this, I was coughing and spluttering and trying my best to contain laughter. To a seasoned smoker, my antics would have been pure entertainment! Perhaps some of the higher density beings "tuned in" for a good laugh :lol2:.

You might find that its a lot more pleased while smoking with filters. Personally I wouldn't like to smoke one without, it's a lot harsher on the throat that way and the taste is not so great. What do you mean by "cool the smoke before inhaling"?

As this is all new to me, I checked this wiki article http://www.wikihow.com/Enjoy-a-Cigarette for pointers. It and a few others mention holding the smoke in your mouth briefly to cool it before inhaling. Don't know if it's necessary or not, but thought it may help me as a novice. Found the smoke quite harsh on my lungs for sure (reminded me of the last bushfire I was at!), so think I'll grab some filters. Also been thinking of a pipe, but will see how it goes.

Mac Baren Original Choice additive free pipe tobacco is the best pipe tobacco I've found so far! Smooth, tasty, smells great just from the blend of 3 varieties (without aromatics, etc. added).

Just a note about American Spirits. If I remember correctly, one of the big tobacco companies bought them out about a couple of years ago - RJ Reynolds, I think. So, it may not be so trustworthy now. I haven't smoked them for about four years or so, so can't comment if anything's changed since then.

"Cooling the smoke" can be accomplished simply by metering inhalation incorporating air with the smoke; i.e., draw smoke in mouth as sucking a straw,

then inhale. Sometimes alternately sucking, inhaling, sucking, inhaling can be much fun!

Another tip: exhaling via the nose can help process any residual "good stuff" attempting an escape. :D

Have the C's ever mentioned specifically which blood types actually benefit from smoking?

The only times I've tried smoking a cigarette were I think probably a year ago, I had mixed small bits of it with some marijuana (I'm trying to quit that habit too now) and smoked it from a bong but I couldn't handle the crazy head rush and ending up barfing. I know a lot of people who smoke often but it doesn't seem to affect them that way so I'm just a bit curious about this..

The nicotine head rush goes away with habituation.

I would hope so haha. I've always told myself I would never smoke a cigarette in my life, well at least a full cigarette, and I still haven't yet. But I guess its different for everyone so I won't know until I try I guess.

Ah ok, I understand what you mean. My assumption was that this was the only way to effectively smoke a cigarette, as I can't imagine what its like to simply inhale without the "draw smoke in mouth as sucking a straw" process. Thanks for clearing that up Thaigrr.

You probably experienced such an intense head rush because of the method of inhalation. Hence why people don't usually smoke tobacco through a bong... The common choice would be to smoke it slowly in cigarette format or through a pipe. If you are interested in starting to smoke, a cigarette with a filter would be preferable IMO. Once the body adapts to the nicotine you will no longer feel a rush.

The C's haven't stated exactly which blood group it is no. Unless there is evidence that I am unaware of, we cannot even be sure yet whether blood groups are the determining factor. Heres what the C's said about it:
Q: So, you are saying that nicotine is actually good for me?
A: Yes. Without it, you will remain with weight problems, because you will not be able to lower food intake enough to compensate. Why do you think you had the inkling to start smoking in the first place?
Q: Well, I just was going along with my friends, I thought. [I had started smoking when I was 16, though I had experimented with it when I was 15.]
A: No.
Q: What other things does nicotine do?
A: Raises immunological defences.
Q: Anything else?
A: Excites neurotransmitters. You require less sleep.
Q: Is this true for everyone?
A: No.
Q: (A) How much nicotine is necessary?
A: 100 mg per day.
Q: (A) Can it be in pill form? [Ark is CLEARLY unhappy with the idea of me smoking!]
A: Cigarettes infuse it to brain tissues most effectively.
Q: Well, I am certainly relieved! Now I know that I do not have a 'smoking demon' possessing me! I was really getting worried! [While I had quit, I was constantly and incessantly plagued with the urge to smoke. I had become convinced that it was a spirit attachment or some sort of "control mechanism" that would not let me go!]
A: Those who fit this profile find it nearly impossible to "quit" completely.
Q: So, there are people who are actually benefitted by smoking?
A: Genetics will offer proof of this.
Q: You mean that one can see changes in DNA before and after smoking?
A: Close
Q: Is this also true for Frank?
A: Yes.
Q: Why us?
A: It is simply part of your "profiles."
Q: Is that also why I have been having more stomach problems than usual? [I could barely eat anything without having an upset stomach.]
A: Yes.
Q: Well, I always noticed that smoking could settle my stomach. It also stimulated my digestive tract... (F) Yes.
A: (A) What is serious here is the number. How many milligrams... (L) How many cigarettes does this number of 100 milligrams translate into?
A: 20.
Q: Well, I never smoked that much! Only about 15...
A: No.
Q: Well, I told myself 15!
A: It was not. [They were right.]
Q: Ark doesn't need to smoke, does he?
A: No. He does not fit the profile. He actually had to "work" to start smoking.
So, my impression is that it is up to each individual to determine whether they "fit the profile" so to speak. Have you had any inclination to smoke in your life before? If not, then perhaps you are not one that requires it. See how it goes and observe your bodily sensations in reaction to the nicotine, only that way will you be able to see.

Hmm interesting...thanks for the info! I've only had the urge to smoke marijuana so far just because I was smoking it almost everyday for the past two years but I'm determined to kick that habit now as I feel its doing more damage than good to me at this point. I never wanted to smoke cigarettes before however, just because as a kid my parents would always tell me it was unhealthy and never to do it. Plus those bad experiences with the bong. But if I do end up trying it in the future I'll keep this in mind!

You can always go for the pipe option too!

As SeekinTruth said, the Mac Baren Original Choice is an excellent tobacco, and it has an extremely pleasant "room note". It's my favourite by far.

Only problem with a pipe is you have to (a) buy a pipe and (b) fill it every time. It's certainly less convenient than a cigarette (which I also smoked for years), but I've gotten used to the routine. When I'm smoking the OC, everyone, even non-smokers, comments on how wonderful it smells (of course, that's smoking outside...inside it might be a different story!).

I have never heard of that brand before, but then again I'm not really familiar with cigs to begin with. But if it does not have that nasty typical cigarette smell, I will definitely give it a try if I ever plan on smoking in the future!

It's not cigarette tobacco, it's pipe tobacco. So you won't see it offered in normal cigarette vending places. You might have to order it online.
