@Ina I have some notes on POTS from a course I took. Sometimes POTS is caused by the Atlas Bone (C1) being out of position, impairing the vagus nerve. Spinal x-rays are recommended to rule this out. If out of position, a good chiropractor can help re-position it.
Other suggestions for controlling symptoms include preventing insulin surges by eating smaller meals, sticking to low carb diet. Include plenty of greens and berries in your diet to help drive water into the cells. Avoid alcohol/energy drinks. Drink plenty of water and put 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of sea salt per liter in it. (It may be a good idea to avoid caffeine as well)
Since the sympathetic (fight or flight) nervous system is in overdrive, paced breathing was suggested. In thru the nose for 5 seconds, out thru the mouth for 5 seconds. To further stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, Eiriu Eolas Pipe Breathing would be excellent!
Lastly, keeping your blood pressure under control in a normal range and exercising were advised in this course. I hope this helps, and if not the Atlas Bone, a regimen of high dose thiamine is still a good idea, along with B complex, and Magnesium. Alpha lipoic acid also helps with autonomic dysfunction. Good luck and don't throw in the towel yet!!
