Suicides in the air?

Thanks for posting that, shijing. Very interesting and lots of things to ponder about, from a slightly different angle.

Hello,

maybe, just maybe one could relate the increase of mental, functional glitches to the Mercury retrograde period which just ended today.
These 3 weeks were crowded with confusion, second thoughts, cancellations, etc.

The good news is that starting from tomorrow Mars turns retrograde and the day after tomorrow (no pun intended) Saturn.

Hey Joy,

You may find this thread on Astrology, and also Origin of Comets=Origins of Astrology for an added perspective on this topic. :)

Shijing, thank you very much for the excerpt you give us of the book of Jane Robert Seth, it is fascinating. Gives a huge vision of everything, put things in perspective, and it is very nicely written. I love it. I wanted to read this book!

Thank you.

Indeed! Very interesting excerpt, which sure fits the current times doesn't it? Thanks for posting this, Shijing.

So, a weird thing happened today.

We were sitting at breakfast, and Laura got another new book to read for her research/writing project. The title was "Studies of [SOMETHING]". Andromeda read the title as "Suicides of [SOMETHING]".

This struck me as rather interesting, because just 2 days ago, I was reading an article, and my brain sort of automatically replaced a word in the article with "suicide", which caused me to stop, rewind, and reread.

Then Possibility of Being told me 2 minutes later that while translating something, she accidentally translated some word into "suicide". This made the sentence incomprehensible, which she later discovered and went, "Huh?!"

Now, none of us are feeling suicidal, so it was an especially interesting coincidence that it happened to 3 people within a matter of days.

Then suddenly I remembered the recent banker "suicides"...

Is it some kind of beaming going on? Or maybe some kind of mass subconscious warning? I mean, I imagine if things get bad, there will be a LOT of people offing themselves, unfortunately. Maybe people are really feeling "it" coming. Or maybe it is some kind of beaming to activate something in some people, and the rest of us just receive it as "word processing errors".

Has anybody else noticed this particular brain error (or something similar) lately?

I notice that this occurred around the middle of the month. The first thing I thought when I read the post was " Beware the Ides of March" so I checked the date you posted. Ides is the approximate middle of a month. Ides is also a word that can be formed from the word suicide. So is iced and sued, come to think of it- which goes well with the bankers and death. Maybe it is a deep grammatic association of some sort?

Also, the Ides of March are related to Caesar, which has been of recent interest to the group also. Subconscious association perhaps?

Wow Cyndi, very interesting word association there. Given the comments in the April drop Dead date, it will also be interesting to see what plays out next month (especially towards mid-month).

I'd like to chime in with my thanks for posting the excerpt as well Shijing, it seems very pertinent to the topic at hand. Another one to add to my reading list.

I would also like to say thanks for posting that timely and thought provoking excerpt, Shijing. 'The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events' is going to be one of the next books for me to read.

It is fascinating, I agree.

Maybe this is also what is happening to the whales for example? And insects like the bees? They cannot live in this world with its "adverse conditions".
When they dissected some of the dead whales for instance they found nets and loads of garbage in their stomachs. :(

An animal can indeed commit suicide. So can a race or a species. The dignity of a spirited life demands that a certain quality of experience be maintained.

More and more people commit suicide, get cancer and so on, all signs of the times. Maybe all these young kids that commit suicide, because they were being bullied are also "deaths of protest".

Nothing personally has come up for me, although some of what has been said of how words/thoughts have manifested caught my attention. I lost a good friend to this years ago after his struggles with schizophrenia, which came on strong after a serious bought with mononucleosis. Since, it seems to happen on a regular frequency to people in the community, or in the outlying areas sounding. Not living in a city, where you may not hear about the guy down the street or the son/daughter of another, it is common knowledge here that likely involves people you know directly or indirectly.

Of very recent events, just around the time this thread came up, a young man here (32) took his life; he left two children behind. What compounded this is that it followed two months after his wife's very same actions. In between, there have been a few others. Of course there are many reasons this happens, yet it seems a little more prevalent than what can be remembered.

Thank you, Shijing, for adding the JRS 2d & 3d excerpts.

FWIW, a friend in Massachusetts mentioned how her area is rattled by teenage suicides that have happened since October, after years of none. The community is struggling with the feeling that there is "too much stress to perform" on teenagers...Newton is one of the wealthiest (and most competitive) communities in the state or in the northeastern US for that matter, which is most competitive of all...The latest suicide in February was out of the blue, he literally left his textbook open, no indication that there was trouble. The family had immigrated from Israel. _https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2014/03/02/newton-mobilizing-after-suicides-teens/ddoqf9XlrCPhEl6fbd2KYI/story.html. Is the cognitive dissonance is becoming too much to bear?

I've stalled in making my reply here, as obvious by the posting date. But I read the thread maybe a day or two after it was created. So all of this first part are notes I had written down at that time a few weeks
ago.

That week there was a full moon that Friday. I remember that Saturday coming home and hearing the song "Last Resort", which is kind of a suicidal song. That weekend I had dissociated some and felt kind of bad. And I was having thoughts like "It would be better if I were dead", and "I'm already dead". I was feeling pretty depressed.

Also the following week I had borrowed a guitar and wanted to play "Mad World" by Gary Jules, which is kind of a sombre depressing song. I did notice some word substitutions, where I had to go back and realize the word was not what I had read to myself.

I forget which Saturday, Feb 15th, or the week after, but I had a weird dream. I was just waking from it and I felt a presence in the room. And I saw a bunch of images flash quickly, like some download. One prominent one was an image of Obama toward the end.

Basically during that week I had a general off feeling, sometimes even trance-like and not in my body. During that time too was when I watched the Jacob Applebaum video and got a weird feeling when watching them.

They were "normal" thoughts of giving up, relatively common for people with problems they don't feel capable of dealing with.

Yeah, those seem to be what I have had. It's a predator's mind thing where it always ends in some self destructive fantasy.

Talking precautions using wifi, and perhaps wearing a silk scarf on one's head to sleep at night (along with silk pj's) should be looked into.

I wear silk pajamas to work. And recently started sleeping with a silk blanket and a scarf around my head at night. Although I seem to always wake up with it off of my head.

And then there's 'mental blocking' - knowing that these types thoughts are likely NOT your own and employing a little righteous anger in the direction of anyone or anything that would attempt to dissuade you from your chosen path.

Thanks, that's encouraging and a good reminder. It's so easy to get lost in your thoughts thinking they're yours. Gotta remember that we all lie to ourselves, let alone external influences.

Years ago when I was suffering from depression due to being "trapped" in another abusive relationship, I had a particularly bad day and lied down on the sofa around noon and slept a while. When I awoke--I didn't move a muscle, except for breathing. I thought "what is there to wake up for?" and I continued to lie completely still for hours, until dusk around seven PM.

I've had something similar for a few months back. I would sleep in on weekends and hate myself for it. I'd miss a few hours and could never get them back. I did it because of laziness and not wanting to do what is in front of me. And it felt like I was killing myself, which inspired those thoughts of being dead I mentioned above.

Recently, I've noticed a lot of ear ringings around Feb. 26th. They were quite rapid and I wonder if it was just physiological, because it seemed to coincide with bending over. So maybe just a blood rush. Although they would happen quickly while I was still. I haven't had any of those quick ones recently, though.

Well, that wasn't so bad. It's not so fun to talk about these kinds of things.

Hm.. that is quite strange. I can also relate to this. But in my case it happens that I get this ear ringings, but not because of a blood rush. It is like I intercept very high freq signals, and when they ring it feels like someone is clicking a Morse code. It is not a constant ring, it is interrupted by intervals.

I too have noticed ringing the past couple of weeks. After not experiencing it for awhile. However, I do live in an apartment complex with wifi. My Job as well has wifi going all day.

I had the intermittent ringings lately myself, but considering where I am, that bound to happen, I guess. I still make note them, though.

I checked out the antennasearch website yesterday and put in my job location and found 101 towers within 4-mile radius, with two towers (one is .07 mile and other is .23 mile) in a direct sight from my office. My department actually work with and install Wireless APs on a daily basis. Not to mention an active nuclear reactor less than a mile down the road. With my home location, I found 21 towers. Plus, my parents had two WiFi APs installed last year to cover both sides of the house (for a better connectivity and cheap, or so they said). Since I won't escape wifi exposure myself, I'm still working on getting silks and using other precautions. I haven't heard of any suicides around here except for the recent fact that strange men showing up in dorm rooms, looking over students while they're sleeping, stuffs stolen, etc.
