Muxel,
:) for me it was the other way around. i used to be nice and inviting without using discernment often enough.
the result was a lot of encounters over the years with strangers, some were pleasant while other encounters just seemed "off".
i feel it's important to keep an open mind and be able to converse with strangers freely, yet i have discovered that being more discerning helps to give every person / situation its due.
but anyway the word "weird" can mean different things to different people. some people, i've found, have attached a negative connotation to the word itself, even though its most common use, as i understand it, is "strange", which doesn't necessarily carry a positive or negative charge.
but this is WAY off topic.

Yes, but how will you be taken seriously by others if they think you're weird, transientP? I think it essential to have as much
street credibility as possible if we want to have any chance of sharing any seemingly controversial information with others (if they are open to it in the first place), otherwise the message/truth will dismissed along with the messenger. We need good social skills.
Hope you don't mind me pointing this out.
Agreed. Social interaction/functionality ought to be the practical result of any "personality". I guess transientP is "functional" weird, and can get off with being weird without being ostracized or perceived as a threat by OPs.
I'm Work-ing on being nicer & more approachable to strangers....because I used to be so shy that I ended up being rude lol. I found that it's as easy as making a remark/greeting, and everything snowballs from there.
