Live Nation Entertainment is an American global entertainment company, formed from the merger of Live Nation and Ticketmaster. It owns, leases, operates, has booking rights for and/or equity interests in a large number of U.S. entertainment venues. The leadership consists of Greg Maffei (chief executive officer of Liberty Media) as chairman and Canadian Michael Rapino (previously chief executive officer of Live Nation) as president and CEO of the company.
The merger that formed the company was opposed by members of the United States Congress, business rivals, and the Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA), whose members include Google, Oracle, Microsoft, Yahoo, Intuit, and eBay.[3][4]
The merger initially received regulatory approval in Norway and Turkey in 2009.[5] In October 2009, the United Kingdom's Competition Commission provisionally ruled against the merger.[6] On December 22, 2009, the Competition Commission reversed its decision and cleared the proposed merger.[5] The United States Justice Department approved the merger on January 25, 2010, with some conditions to which both parties agreed.[7]
As part of the agreement with governments to merge, Ticketmaster had to sell its ownership in its self-ticketing company, Paciolan and Live Nation Entertainment was placed under a 10-year court order prohibiting it from retaliating against venues that choose to accept competitors' ticket-selling contracts, and it "must allow venues that sign deals elsewhere to take consumer ticketing data with them".[8][9]
In addition, the new company had to license a copy of its ticketing software to two companies—Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) and either Comcast Spectacor or another "suitable" company—so that both companies could compete "head-to-head" with Ticketmaster for venues’ business. AEG was given the option after five years to buy the software, replacing it with something else, or partnering with another ticketing company.[10]
Live Nation Entertainment bought AC Entertainment, a Knoxville Tennessee music company in October 2016.[11]
AEG owns and operates a variety of venues, sport teams, and entertainment concerns. For venues, AEG owns and operates the Staples Center and the StubHub Center, and manages the XL Center and Rentschler Field. In England, it owns the Manchester Arena,[4] and currently operates The O2 which includes a 20,000 capacity arena. In Turkey, AEG operates 13,800 capacity Ulker Sports Arena and Galatasaray S.K.'s new home ground 52,695 capacity Turk Telekom Arena.[5] As part of the development of the O2, Anschutz also purchased the London river service company Thames Clipper, and supported the development of the nearby David Beckham Academy (which also has a branch at the Home Depot Center). The company has its headquarters in Downtown Los Angeles.[6]
For sports teams, the company owns the Los Angeles Galaxy, 50% of the Los Angeles Kings, Ontario Reign, Eisbären Berlin with Berlin Mercedes-Benz Arena, 45% of Hammarby IF, as well as interests in the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Los Angeles Sparks. AEG also owned Hamburg Freezers before ceasing its existence in 2016. The company also purchased the Champions on Ice figure skating tour in 2006, and own 12% of Djurgårdens IF Hockey. The company makes a significant amount of its money by leveraging its sports interests, already significant earners, by using the stadia in which these teams play to host various other entertainment events, most notably concerts. Indeed, Philip Anschutz created the company by buying up several small local promoters in Los Angeles including ConcertsWest and Goldenvoice, which had been founded by Gary Tovar and promotes the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, in order to fill up the schedule for his new sports venue, Staples Center. It is now the second-largest event promoter in the United States.
AEG Live came to international public attention in 2009 when it acted as the promoter for Michael Jackson's This Is It concerts. Jackson died just three weeks before the series of 50 concerts were due to begin. Members of Jackson's family have said that they would like to see an investigation, in general, into the role of AEG Live in the final weeks of his life, and also, in particular, into the role of the personal advisers and representatives whom they believe the promoters put in place for him.[7]
On September 18, 2012, The Anschutz Corporation announced its intent to sell Anschutz Entertainment Group and its holdings.[8] The company has retained financial advisors Blackstone Advisory Partners to assist in AEG's sale process. There had been some concerns about the sale as AEG was instrumental in the development of Farmers Field, a planned football stadium in Downtown Los Angeles that was intended to attract an NFL team to the city. Approval to begin construction of Farmers Field in 2013 for a 2016 completion was in the process of being finalized at the time that AEG's sale was announced.[9] In 2015, plans for Farmers Field were abandoned when then St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke announced plans for a stadium of his own. (The Oakland Raiders Ended up at Las Vegas with LA being considered by Al Davis conglomerate over the years. )
On March 14, 2013, Anschutz announced AEG is no longer for sale and that he is changing CEOs. Tim Leiweke (CEO since 1996) left the firm, John Skorjanec, VP of National Media Accounts whose leave of absence, left a temporary void, has returned in the same capacity with Dan Beckerman now the person at the top of AEG.[10]
AEG also owns the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, StubHub Center in Carson, California and the multi-purpose arena known as "The O2", formerly the Millennium Dome. AEG operates the Sprint Center for the city of Kansas City, Missouri, and Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Anschutz's investment in The O2, through his company Anschutz Entertainment Group previously resulted in his involvement in controversy related to the possible influence of former British Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott in the award of the "super casino" license by the British government. Anschutz knows Prescott personally, having had him as a guest for a two-night stay at Anschutz's ranch in 2005 and footing the bill for hospitality and gifts.[13]
In January 2007, the "Super Casino" license was awarded to a group in Manchester, rather than to Blackpool or London.[14] Anschutz spent £50m on the Manchester Arena and the winner of the casino licence is a close ally of Anschutz, Sol Kerzner. [15] [16]
Also manages qantasCredit Union Arena AEG is planning to develop similar entertainment complexes to London's O2 Arena, including the O2 World in Berlin and an entertainment complex around the existing Staples Center.
In August 2007, AEG announced plans with Harrah's Entertainment to build a privately financed 20,000-seat arena in Paradise, Nevada on the Las Vegas Strip [17] on Harrah's land located directly behind the Bally's Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas resorts. The informal partnership was dissolved the following year.[18]
In October 2011, it was announced an agreement with Palmeiras and WTorre for managing the Allianz Parque, one of the most modern multipurpose spaces in the world, located in São Paulo, Brazil. With construction starting in 2010, was completed in November 2014.
In September 2013, it was announced that AEG Facilities, a stand-alone affiliate of AEG, had signed a 15-year contract to operate Wembley Arena in London, UK.[19]
In 2014, the partnership of AEG Live with MGM Resorts International began construction of Las Vegas Arena located west of the Las Vegas Strip between Frank Sinatra Drive and New York-New York. The venue has been open since April 6, 2016.[20]
AEG Ogden, a joint venture with Australian investors, manages sports venues and convention centres in Australia and Asia, including the International Convention Centre Sydney, Suncorp Stadium and Sydney Super Dome.

Earlier in April Price said that one of his goals was to cut redundancy and waste in his agency. In 2009, while serving as a congressman from Georgia, he criticized Congress for authorizing funding for private jets.
But the flights reported by Politico, scheduled between September 13 and 15, cost taxpayers roughly $60,000 more than had he flown commercial.
I would remind Secretary Price that taxpayer funds are not meant to be used as a jet-setting slush fund," Pallone said in a statement. "There is no reason to be regularly chartering private flights at the taxpayers' expense between commercially serviced routes such Washington, D.C. to Philadelphia."

According to NBC, the investigators are "puzzled" by two discoveries: First, a charger was found that does not match any of the cellphones that belonged gunman, Stephen Paddock. And second, garage records show that during a period when Paddock's car left the hotel garage, one of his key cards was used to get into his room.
Additionally, Sheriff Lombardo suggested that far from a suicide mission, authorities had seen evidence that the shooter planned to survive and escape.
{After taking 70 odd minutes to access the room, escape would have been the easiest thing possible. But then again, the impression is that he registered the room in his name, so ultimate escape was never a reality unless of course it was all engineered and he was forcefully retired in the early stages?}
To be sure, the question whether Paddock was alone or coordinated with some, still unknown collaborator, has been one of the most hotly debated topics involving last Sunday's tragic Las Vegas shooting.
{Yes, the debate will continue as long as the focus remains on Paddock being the lone shooter.}
Now, providing further impetus to the speculation that Paddock was not alone, NBC News reports, citing senior law enforcement officials, that investigators are speculating that someone else may have been in the Las Vegas gunman's hotel room when he was registered there.
{Seems a possibility.}
According to NBC, the investigators are "puzzled" by two discoveries: First, a charger was found that does not match any of the cellphones that belonged gunman, Stephen Paddock {Oops}. And second, garage records show that during a period when Paddock's car left the hotel garage, one of his key cards was used to get into his room. While there are several possible explanations for these anomalies, investigators said they "want to get to the bottom of it."

It worked with 9/11, so why not again?
At this point I'm thinking that this is the most plausible scenario. My guess is, that these Mossad-guys intentionally did the operation in a semi-sloppy fashion, with various shootings at hotels etc., so as to leave a big mess for the US authorities to explain to the public. This could be seen as their modus operandi, as in 9/11 or MH17, to leave a bunch of false leads so that the people (with some neurons firing) questioning the event will chase after the wrong suspect (like in 9/11 => inside job!), and never suspect this third party (Mossad).
Erick Silva was the type of guy who bought hamburgers for elderly people who found themselves homeless and without supper last Christmas. Just a week ago, the 22-year-old helped a neighbor haul an old sofa to the dump, refusing to accept money in exchange. He regularly gave friends rides in his car to tend to errands.
“He had a hard time saying no,” his stepfather, Gregorio de la Rosa, said. “He was very generous. He liked to help other people.”
So it was only fitting that Silva, a security guard stationed near the front of the Route 91 Harvest music festival, would spend the last moments of his life helping others, his mother, Angelica Cervantes, said during a vigil Tuesday at the family’s home in Las Vegas.
Silva lifted concertgoers over a barricade and to safety near the front of the stage where he was stationed Sunday night, said Jay Purves, vice president for the Las Vegas branch of Contemporary Services Corp.
“He was a hero,” Purves told Cervantes. “He was saving lives.”
Purves said Silva, who had been with the company for about three years, was shot several times, including once in the face. Purves said he and others carried Silva’s body away from the shooting zone. He was breathing but unresponsive, Purves said.
“He was fighting for his life,” he told Cervantes.
Purves put his hand on the mother’s shoulder, as the family’s living room filled with mourners. A large photo of Silva in uniform decorated a wall nearby.
“I know he was. That was my son,” Cervantes replied. “Always doing something for someone else. … He should have saved himself.”
Purves shook his head.
“That was not Erick,” he told her. “He helped others first.”
Gina Argento, an office manager at the security company who worked closely with Silva, embraced Cervantes.
Silva was never late to work and did everything that was asked of him and more, Argento said. He was so stellar at his job that he’d been told he’d be promoted soon to a supervisory role, she said.
“He went above and beyond for everyone,” Argento told the mother. “I trusted him.”
Cervantes’ eyes swelled with tears.
“Thank you,” she said. “But I want my son back.”

When Air Force veteran Jay Purves first heard the pop-pop-pop at the Las Vegas country music festival, he knew immediately it was gunfire.
Purves and his colleagues at a private security firm manning the Route 91 Harvest festival Sunday night were a force of 200 unarmed first responders who lifted people over barriers, hid them behind pillars and under the stage, and funneled them to exits amid the panic.
One of the Contemporary Services Corporation guards died and two were wounded when a gunman on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel casino across the street opened fire on the outdoor festival, killing 58 people and injuring nearly 500 others.
Now, despite the fresh trauma and losing one of their own, many of the company's guards — "the yellow shirts," Purves calls them — are returning to work this weekend.
Supervisor Cheryl Metzler put on her uniform Friday to work a UFC weigh-in, her first event since the shooting. She was anxious but stayed composed until it came time to thank other CSC guards who came in from out of state to help.
"I kind of broke down a little bit," she said.
Purves, the vice president of CSC's Las Vegas branch, said private security guards are not always taken seriously because they aren't law enforcement.
"We're the ones often in the background, in the shadows, but we were actually the ones right there in the thick of it all," he said.
The staff has worked events at the venue before and was already reeling a bit from Saturday, the second night of the festival, when a drunken attendee punched one of their guards in the face.
Metzler was working Sunday in a command center that resembles a shipping container, watching the concert on seven large surveillance monitors, when someone called to ask if there were supposed to be pyrotechnics at the show.
"We thought fireworks," she said of the popping sound. "But then it kept going."
As people began to flee, the guards fanned out across the venue, coaxing shell-shocked concertgoers too frightened to move to head to a safer spot.
Early in the chaos, Purves got a call on his radio: "Erick's been hit and is down," referring to 21-year-old employee Erick Silva.
Silva, assigned to the front of the stage, off to the side where the soundboard was kept, was shot in the head while helping people climb over a barricade.
Purves started running to him. On the way, he got another call on the radio. A second guard, Jeff Bachman, who was moving Silva away from the stampeding crowd, was shot in the leg.
As the gunfire continued, Purves and the other guards got hold of a bicycle rack, flipped it on its side and used it as a gurney to carry Silva, who was gasping for air. They carried him out to emergency responders before running back in to continue the evacuation.
"It was complete carnage and chaos," Purves said.
Metzler and others were trapped inside the command post, watching the screens in horror as more shots rang out.
"What I had seen on those TVs — no one should ever see in their life. But I wish everybody could have seen what I'd seen with our people," she said. "Our people, they didn't run."
Another guard, Daniel Rascon, was shot in the arm while trying to get people in wheelchairs off a ramp.
"It was hard, seeing my people out there, not being able to help them," Metzler said. "But then they knew I was in there and they would call me on the radio and I was trying to comfort them."
The guards are still shaken, Purves said. But many will be going out again this weekend to work security at major events in Las Vegas — including a lantern festival and the UFC event.
Purves credits police, firefighters and other first responders with helping save lives Sunday. But the private security guards, "they're the forgotten ones," he said.
"These are working men and women who make 10, 11, 12 bucks an hour, who are in the thick of everything and have to deal with intoxication, evictions, fake tickets, complaints that the beer is too hot and the hot dogs too cold," Purves said. "The yellow shirts are the ones people go to for help."
Silva, who worked for CSC for three years and dreamed of becoming a police officer, died Tuesday from his wounds.
The company is offering counseling to its employees and helping Silva's family arrange a funeral. Some guards are taking a break to deal with the trauma. Many others, including Purves, decided to go back to work and are staffing their first events this weekend.
Metzler isn't sure when her next day off will be. She said she's glad to be back with a group she considers family.
"I want to be with my people to talk about it. If I'm just sitting home, I'm watching the TV and I don't turn it off," she said. "So this is the best therapy and the biggest reason I wanted to come back."

This may not be the best time to take a knee Colin Kaepernick-style now that once again we saw how cops perform when duty calls.
America has had enough of that knContemporary Services Corporationeeing nonsense. President Trump has been quick to condemn the anti-cop madness and to side vigorously with law enforcement.
The cops in Vegas ran TOWARDS the danger. That’s what we expect of them, there and everywhere, and for all the lives they saved, ask them if they consider themselves heroes and they’ll be shocked at the question. No, they will say, we were only doing our duty.
They do it a million times a day throughout the United States, but no one gives it a second thought…unless one of them, one out of a thousand, makes a mistake.
That’s when Liberals and the Leftist media apparatus take note and paint all of Law Enforcement with the same brush.
Or as we used to say to ingrates of another generation – Need Help? Call a Hippie.
The cop who rushes to your aid on the highway, or who risks his life when you report a prowler, isn’t doing it for the money.
On average, American police officers earn $61, 270 per year. The typical NFL player earns $1.9 million; actually $4 million as his career advances.
Cops don’t ask for much. Just maybe some respect would be appreciated, or just keep quiet and let them do their job.
That’s a job that comes with awful risks – aside the dirty looks they get from The New York Times, CNN, ABC-TV and the rest of the networks even when their patrols take them by foot or by car to America’s most dangerous neighborhoods. That’s not counting the undercover work they do to keep us as safe as possible.
All that is dangerous work. Seldom is it 9 to 5 and even when they are off the clock, they are still on duty. That comes with a price.
So far this year 100 officers of the law have been killed in the line of duty. Last year’s figure is 146.
As for charges of racism and police brutality, The New York Post’s Heather MacDonald offers the details, which, using statistical facts, she sums up like this:
“Contrary to the Black Lives Matter narrative, the police have much more to fear from black males than black males have to fear from the police. In 2015, a police officer was 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black male than an unarmed black male was to be killed by a police officer.”
Will there be more knee-ins against the police even after Vegas? Will there be harmony at last?
That’s unlikely. At 9/11, 343 firefighters gave their lives along with 60 police officers and eight paramedics, and law enforcement bashing never stopped.
The football ingrates do what they do. The cops do what they do.
Only this question: who are your heroes and which of those two teams do you root for?

The U.S. State Department has approved the possible sale of a THAAD anti-missile defense system to Saudi Arabia at an estimated cost of $15 billion, the Pentagon said on Friday, citing Iran among regional threats.
The approval opens the way for Saudi Arabia to purchase 44 Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) launchers and 360 missiles, as well as fire control stations and radars.
“This sale furthers U.S. national security and foreign policy interests, and supports the long-term security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region in the face of Iranian and other regional threats,” the Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation agency said in a statement.

‘Faced with Russians & Iranians 24/7’: Israel calls for US to be more active in Syria 3 Oct, 2017
https://www.rt.com/news/405540-israel-syria-us-russia-iran/
The Israeli defense minister has urged Washington to engage more in Syria, where President Bashar Assad "is winning." The official has asked for increased US involvement, saying Israel is struggling to deal with the "Russians, Iranians, and also the Turks and Hezbollah."
"We hope that the United States will be more active in the Syrian arena and in the Middle East in general,” Avigdor Lieberman said in an interview with Israel's Walla news on Tuesday.
“In the northern arena, we are faced with the Russians, Iranians, and also the Turks and Hezbollah. The public does not know everything and it's a good thing, but it's an investment and an effort 24 hours a day, seven days a week."
The minister went on to express his apparently grave concerns that "in spite of everything, Assad is winning the battle." He also called the situation in Syria "one of the greatest absurdities."
"The United States has quite a few challenges of their own, but as a trend, the more active the US is, the better," Lieberman said.
According to the right-wing Israeli official, “suddenly everyone is running to get closer to Assad,” including countries in the West “queuing” to win the Syrian president’s favor.
In another unfortunate scenario for Israel, the situation in Syria has led to widespread Iranian consolidation, according to Lieberman, who is known for his harsh statements and anti-Iranian stance.
Despite Israel generally not being involved in the Syrian war, there has long been a concern that the situation would see some of its main foes – Iran and Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant organization designated as a terrorist group by Israel and the US – gain a foothold of power in Syria.
Claiming “errant projectiles” from Syrian territory have reached Israel, the IDF has on several occasions targeted positions of the Syrian Army and allied forces. The Israeli military have also targeted military convoys within Syria, claiming they were carrying weapons for Hezbollah.

The tattoo that Jason Adean has may very well be an indication of his sense of loyalty or just that he thinks it is a cool gambling symbol. I say that because it is not an exact "match". Hello goyacobol, from Aldean's tattoo I get a Baphomet symbol, the centres of the cards are the eyes and the flames above are the horns. It is interesting that the tops of the cards are ripped as if they are used in cheating. I don't know what the gadget is underneath the cards, but it reminds me of an amplifier unit.

Origin of a phantastic post war "SS mysticism" which refers to the "Black Sun" not as a symbol but as a kind of esoteric concept is a right-wing esoteric circle in Vienna in the early 1950s.[27] The speculations of the Vienna Lodge – also known as the Landig Group – did not relate their concept of the "Black Sun" to the ornament in the Wewelsburg. This identification took place as late as 1991, in the novel Die Schwarze Sonne von Tashi Lhunpo.

I say that because it is not an exact "match". The Jack is on top of the Ace in the Las Vegas Game Card and the Jack on Jason's arm is under the Ace. It's a small difference but I think I would say it could represent something besides an illuminati allegiance for Jason Aldean.

Dana White is FURIOUS with Jason Aldean -- telling TMZ Sports the country singer's team lied to him about why he couldn't perform in front of Vegas shooting survivors and 1st responders at UFC 216.
White says he had reached out to Aldean's camp to sing the national anthem at UFC 216 in Vegas on Saturday night ... an event in which 15 survivors and hundreds of 1st responders were in the crowd.
White says Aldean's people turned down the offer -- saying he was shaken up from the shooting and might never perform live again.
Still, he declined.White says he stressed that the survivors who would be attending UFC 216 were shot while watching Aldean perform and it would mean a lot to them ... and the city of Las Vegas.
Instead, Aldean flew to NYC and performed on Saturday Night Live at the same time as UFC 216. Needless to say, White is pissed.
"His image was more important then coming back to Vegas and playing for the people who are his fans and who got shot watching him play," White says.
"F*ck you Jason Aldean. Stay out of Vegas."
White says he also reached out to several country music stars -- telling us, "Country music was attacked. Those were country music fans."
White says every single country act turned him down.
"Those are people who buy your albums and none of you country music people could sing the anthem in front of survivors and 1st responders?"
White offered a ton of praise to Everlast -- who stepped in and performed instead.
"This isn't about money. This is about the bad ass people who fought through this sh*t that this coward did."
Country singer Jason Aldean opened the second episode of the NBC variety series' 43rd season with a Tom Petty cover just days after playing as the mass shooting began in Las Vegas on Sunday.
"This week we witnessed one of the worst tragedies in American history. Like everyone I'm struggling to understand what happened that night and how to pick up the pieces and start to heal," Aldean said starting the show. "So many people are hurting."
Aldean took the stage of Studio 8H less than a week after performing at the Route 91 Festival in Las Vegas where the shooting took place. During his performance, gunfire rained down from the 32nd flood of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino across the streets, causing him to flee the stage.
The shooting injured more than 500 people and killed at least 58.
The singer, who was wearing all black including a black cowboy hat, added "We hurt for you and we hurt with you, but you can be sure we're going walk through these tough times together every step of the way."
"Because when America is at its best, out bond and our spirit is unbreakable," the county singer said.
Aldean then went into a rendition of "I Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
The song choice was even more poignant considering that Petty died Monday at the age of 66.
Aldean wrapped his set by looking at the camera and saying the series' iconic words, "Live from New York... It's Saturday night!"
