Well, considering distorted data even NOAA & NASA provide it's not surprise though...What a scoundrels.

Very interesting article s-kur, thanks for sharing. It has been published on SOTT: Math errors discovered in climate model shows UN climate panel overestimated global warming by at least 10x.

It's good to see these new findings showing that man-made CO2 only has a marginal impact on climate and of course stating the obvious about temperatures having been stagnant for the past 18 years. Also good to see the author making the connection with Solar activity.

Britain – Siberian swan arrives the earliest in 50 years prompting fears of long, bitter winter

Each year around 300 Bewick’s swans migrate 2,500 miles from Arctic Russia to escape the approaching cold weather which follows closely behind them.

The first bird arrived at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT) in Slimbridge, Gloucestershire on Sunday, 11 October, the earliest since records began in 1963.

The unusually cold weather currently sweeping parts of western Russia and eastern Europe, along with temperatures running 5C to 10C below average, has encouraged the swans to flock westward earlier than usual.

Slimbridge swan expert Julia Newth said: “Apparently there’s a Russian saying that ‘the swan brings snow on its bill’, because they tend to move just ahead of the cold weather.

There’s also the fact that El Niño is underway in the tropical Pacific, prompting even more speculation that Europe is in for a long, cold winter.

It's unfortunate that the guy who reports this is Nathan Rao from the Express, because he tends to make alarmist forecasts every time and their readers know it by now (I've heard comments). He's been crying wolf, so he is unlikely to be taken seriously when the ice age finally comes.

Thank you for giving us these background details, Windmill knight. With these in mind the article suddenly reads more like a pastiche than a genuine report, amazingly. ;)

Russian scientists announce their forecast for the upcoming winter and more:

After a relatively mild winter last year, this year's cold season in Russia is expected to be much harsher, possibly heralding the start of a 60-year cold spell, Russian weather forecasters said.

Winter has already started in Russia's Yamal peninsula, where night temperatures dropped to minus 18 degrees Celsius halfway through October, Vladimir Melnikov, a member of the Tyumen branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told the TASS news agency Wednesday.

Melnikov said evidence showed the Earth was not only gradually warming up but was also experiencing shorter cycles of cooling, saying the forecast for the upcoming winter heralded the beginning of a 60-year cold cycle.

The head of the Federal Meteorological Service, Alexander Frolov, said Tuesday that this year's winter would be colder than last winter, TASS reported.

Last year, forecasters warned of a particularly harsh winter, with temperatures 5 to 10 degrees Celsius lower than the previous year, the report said. But some regions experienced much warmer weather than usual. Temperatures in the Sverdlovsk region, for example, were up to 10 degrees warmer than average in mid-December, TASS reported.

For North America, the Farmers Almanac states: http://farmersalmanac.com/weather-outlook/2016-winter-forecast/

According to the Farmers’ Almanac, the winter of 2015–2016 is looking like a repeat of last winter, at least in terms of temperatures with unseasonably cold conditions over the Atlantic Seaboard, eastern portions of the Great Lakes, and the lower peninsula of Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, most of the Tennessee and Mississippi Valley, as well as much of the Gulf Coast.

New Englanders will once again experience a very frigid (shivery) winter (Déjà vu).

With the way the jet stream meandered and influenced the Eastern Seaboard last year, sucking in precipitation and causing what is described above with great amounts of snow in some locations (remembering the Lake Effects), and this year, like the Russian forecast above, may prove to be a particularly harsh one as this trend roots itself.

Should we emerge in the spring, one might count on a repeat fire season in the West, too.

reminds me of what Laura said once on the topic of waking up one morning

Imagine parking your car safely outside your house in the evening only to find it gone the next morning. The streets and vehicles have nearly disappeared under the blanket of snow, with over 40cm falling overnight. All one can currently see in Omsk is snow, snow and nothing else.

Thank you, Jeremy. I'm wondering what will happen in winter. There are already winter temperatures in some parts of Russia (7-8 degrees below the norm). It's very unusual.

It's rather cool very early for south central France, too. Usually pretty warm until into November.

What does the bolded part mean? Is he trying to say, oh, don't worry, it's not the start of an Ice Age that might last thousands of years?

indeed - Moscow times is mostly western disinfo -gradually warming with shorter cold cycles (only 60 years)

Well, it is true that Moscow Times is a pro-Western outlet, but this forecast was actually made by the Russian scientists, not news makers. Many Russian scientists actually predict cold cycle in the near future. The question is, how cold it is going to be and for how long.

Yes, it's quite surprising to witness such heavy snowfall in the south of Siberia in October. Omsk is not far from where I live, but we don't have snow here yet. We're having four-days-long non-stop raining instead. Feels like I live in aquarium.

I was wondering the same thing but in Italy(Northern part of the country), i mean during the night we have 7° C, for this time of the year it's too cold. Some time go when i was listening Behind the Headlines Sott radio show, Joe jokingly said something like " well this winter is coming the next ice age ...", don't know, but of one thing I'm sure, this winter won't be a warm one as the last one.
