The Magnesium Miracle

I realize that many of us have different reactions to the same substances. My reaction to magnesium chloride used transdermally might be considered an adverse reaction (burned the holy heck out of my skin) but my wife hardly noticed any sensation whatsoever to her skin. Anyway my point here is that I hung in there and after using it for 4 days everything adverse began to subside.

Ask..., no tell yourself that " your in it to win it", and then proceed to do so. I have to enthusiastically endorse the use of magnesium chloride applied transdermally. I also have to enthusiastically endorse the use of magnesium chloride used orally for receding gums (mine have all completely grown back after 2 months).

... now with that said I want to share a discovery I made that might help those on tight budgets.

50# bag of MgCl2 - 6H2O (Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate) $26.00 + or - , it's been a while since l purchased it.

A farm elevator is where l purchased mine. The horsey folks use it in the training arenas to hold the dust down. It's also used as an ice melter found under the brand name "FreezGard". This bag should get you through the tough times coming up.

YMMV

Lots of Olive Oil. Never buy "vegetable oil" again. You can also get nut
oils, sesame oil and my favorite: Grape Seed Oil. This is easily obtained
here in the land of lotsa grapes.

This quote is from 2008. Is grape seed oil still ok? I want to make my own mayo.

We still use grapeseed oil for mayonnaise though it is not the ideal oil to consume. It does make a wonderful mayo, though.

I'm using avocado oil and olive oil for my mayonnaise. Totaly delicious.

I use macadamia oil - if I can find some!

I've been looking for a new moyonnnaise recipe. And knew from the get go that grapeseed oil was highly oxidative and processed (even if it is very delicious!). Thanks very much for the added substitutes I'm gonna give them a try tonight.

I'm not certain where to begin posting on the forum and since this thread is meaningful to me I decided to begin here.

2 years ago I was very ill and was certain that I was on the threshold of my physical death. I was so weak I had difficulty holding a pen to write and could barely walk without dragging my feet. Long story short, I was unemployed with no financial reserves left and of course no 'health insurance'. I began to do research on the net as I was somewhat exasperated with the long wait for death to finally claim me. I found that I was experiencing 32 of the symptoms of magnesium deficiency. I purchased a bottle of magnesium oil spray for $10, and began to apply it transdermally once a day. I sprayed it on my thighs and massaged it into my skin.

My weakness began to improve, the head-to-toe daily muscle cramps disappeared and it provided sufficient improvement where I began to consider the possibility of not dying. My personal account of recovery is long and involves enormous changes in my diet - as well as adding a slew of vitamin and mineral supplements. My intention in writing this post is to encourage the reader to consider the possibility that they may in fact need more magnesium. I do not use the oil spray any longer and instead am taking broad spectrum magnesium daily. I take 400 mg which consists of magnesium (as citrate) glycerinate, orotate and taurinate.

Glad that you were able to find the magnesium helped in restoring such a vital nutrient. Perhaps you were stripping yourself of the mineral by incorporating too much grains, sugars, and vegetables. In doing so, you would have been subject to a lot of pain since these foods will certainly not replenish magnesium levels. Plus, being depleted in our soil already, even those of us on a ketogenic diet cannot escape supplementation. Hopefully you are well on your way to reading the Life Without Bread section and the Ketogenic Diet section of this forum. Hello CelticWarrior,

Thank you for your recommendations. I have a lot to learn about diet and will indeed read the information available here on the forum. I have been conducting research on the internet and have found there is so much misinformation that it requires a lot of deep skeptical research. I've done some experimentation with the elimination of gluten and found that I felt much healthier.

I have been on Magnesium Citrate powder for quite some time and it did not work for me. Magnesium citrate is a laxative. It attracts water through the tissues by a process known as osmosis. Additionally, I always experienced stomach pain when took it. I currently switched to chelated Magnesium Bisglycinate + Malate. I have not tried Ionic Magnesium though.
I just want to warn everybody not to purchase magnesium supplements that contain stearic acid and magnesium stearate.

Hello:

I have currently switched to this product, which does not contain Magnesium stearate and stearic acid:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QSR9D9I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But I still need more time to know for sure how my body will ultimately react to it.

Also some liquid Ionic Magnesium brands do not have the stearic acid and magnesium stearate.
For example this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Good-State-Liquid-Magnesium-Concentrate/dp/B00CWEHXH0/ref=sr_1_5?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1430948660&sr=1-5&keywords=Ionic+Magnesium

The problem I see with those liquid Ionic Magnesiums is they contain extra unnecessary ingredients to preserve freshness.
Additionally, for magnesium to be ionic, it needs to be combined with citric acid in a liquid base. And, as I mentioned above, Magnesium citrate produces extreme laxative effect in my body and I experience very uncomfortable stomach cramps.
