FWIW, I read it back in the mid-80's during the early stages of my esoteric quest. At first, I was interested and it kept my attention - the further I went with it, the more I came away with an impression that I had just wasted a big chunk of time. Frankly, I can't recall much of it now, though what does stick is the overly religious theme throughout it.

I don't think I have the book any longer but I might have a completely different take on it now, if I were to re-read it.

The re-affirmation of an essentially Darwinistic world-view in combination with religions' traditional cast of characters is a cover-all-bases masterstroke, really. And I doubt the racist undertones were lost on you, either. I understand William S. Sadler had something of an interest in eugenics. . . . .

Yeah. I think I once described it as rather Nazi-istic.
