The X-Files reboot

Yeah, they crammed an awful lot of stuff into that first episode. If one was well read on the different subjects, it was possible to keep up, but otherwise . . .

It did go heavily on Disclosure material (disappointing but not surprising considering how much publicity Greer got), but the points made about the police state and false flags were nice to see. X-File fans tend to go over episodes minutely, so maybe it will spark the research bug in some of those people. Episode 2 tonight!

I watched the first episode last night. They certainly hit all the conspiracy buttons. I was a little disappointed in some of it, but like others said, perhaps people will use it as a stepping off point to do some research. It was certainly good to see Scully and Mulder back in action!!

Overall, I liked it and I found it quite interesting.

There were quite a lot of stuff as you said herondancer but it was pleasant to hear them in that first episode. Looking for the secon one tonight.

Interesting. I hope they'll clear up all the contradictions and loose ends made from the series/films. :)

Episode one kicks off with another contradiction... the Marlboro man is alive. As I recall, near the end of one of the movies he took a direct hit from a Hellfire missile while holed up in an Anasazi pueblo ruin.

Hm. I just finished watching the first episode.

It's pretty thick with the Disclosure Project "Space Brothers" spin at the moment.

But there's another bunch of episodes to go still, so who knows?

Yes, that was a bit disappointing. It seems like they are going to shift all blame for abductions to the evil spook humans. Oh well "wait and see".

The Smoking Man was supposedly killed in the series finale, in the episode "The Truth" (Season 9). Just having finished watching the new episode on Fox Online, I gotta say that he looked heather than he was when he was "killed". My first thought was that he was "cloned" like Mulder's sister, but that didn't account for his need to smoke through his neck. My second thought was he was "brought back" through the use of some alien healing technology or something. Then, I read somewhere that we will see The Lone Gunmen in one of the episodes - they were killed in ninth season as well. Geez, they're bringing everyone back from the dead.

While it's good to see Scully and Mulder back in action, I'm not crazy about the whole stuffs being crammed in first episode, especially the Disclosure material.

At 1:40 there is a man in black it appears, the same look as the Observers in Fringe.

I had the same thought as well - then, I was half-expecting Dunham and Bishop to show up. The Fringe is similar to The X-Files in several ways.

I watched it online and thought it was good. I used to watch the series as a kid in middle school. That was probably my gateway into strange things that ultimately lead to the forum.

It was nice to see them putting out a lot of conspiracy topics. But it seems like everything is being explained as being caused by humans. The weather and the abductions, etc. And I find it interesting that they planted a seed for the upcoming chaos in the economy, martial law, wars, etc. And they mostly put that as caused by a corrupt group people, but they don't say psychopaths. So I think when stuff does go downhill, the show kind of planted that seed like, "Oh we people just did this unto ourselves." So the weather was human made global warming, the EMPS are terrorist acts and now comets, and the abductions are just humans with alien technology. And at this stage in our real life history, alien disclosure is not a big deal as there is a lot of related things coming out about that.

I watched it online with Firefox and I noticed the framerate was uncomfortably slow. It wouldn't play on IE or Opera. Anyone else have that framerate issue? Youtube HD isn't even that choppy for me. I think I may need flash player updated. I may try a different browser too.

Agree, more of the same, but good to see the ole gang back( sort of like a new session with the C's.... reminds me of that tv show Cheers, whenever Norm would walk in and everyone would call out his name etc). This really shows how good of a dramatic actress she is... whereas he is always the same.... fits with his life and last/current tv project of a sex addict. ;D Some people never seem to change while others seem to do nothing but change.... or perhaps an already grooved track keeps getting deeper and deeper like a river, whose surface appearance can be misleading.... not so much in his case. :D

I remember way back that Gillian Anderson was the one who was more open minded than David Duchovny, the flip side of the characters on the show!

The new season is alright, but kind of annoying that they spoke of the aliens as beings who came here to help us not destroy ourselves- and somehow humans were able to copy their technology. The writers should speak to Richard Dolan! But, ehh, like others have said, it's pushing the disclosure "story".

Other than that, they have similar cinematography despite the use of more CGI and quick shots which have become common these days.

I liked the second episode much more then the first as there was a continuous story line in the format of the original series. Blaming abduction on humans with et technologies was disappointing to me... ( lol! its only a tv show after all!). I think its a much more interesting take, to have the et's involved in that, but more twists to come perhaps.

Mulder looks like a very different person now. The years have given him a more serious, mature and dignified look, appropriate for a wider range of roles perhaps.

Good to hear The Lone Gunmen are coming back, I loved those guys and it was hard to see them go.

I suspect there may be a reunion with the lost son coming up.

Just watched the first episode of the new season. Really liked it and had some great footage from different times. Thought it was pretty brazen to talk about the 9/11 false flag also and it did get intense. But overall I'm looking forward to seeing where this series is gonna go.

Glad its back because the truth is still out there!!

Just saw the first 3 eps... The 3rd episode was a great Romp. (Dr. Who fans, keep an eye out for a shout-out in that one.) ;D

I haven't watched any Dr Who, but I am just curious: what was the shout out? I did see the third episode, so I might remember the scene. Thanks.

Re: 3rd episode...

Awww. Look at the poor, misunderstood Lizard monster. How wonderfully cute and disarming.

Yes. Being disarmed is a great idea.

Please, folks, let's not forget that we have enemies and they want to torment and eat us so badly that they are actually bending time and the very fabric of reality around us just to ensure that we walk obediently into the lunch-meat machine.

This X-Files bullshit appears to have taken a hard right into Disclosure Project land. Friendly aliens, people, Space Brothers, and don't you forget it!

Seriously. We're on the cusp of massive changes, and the Dark Side knows that a whole tar ball lot of us who are interested in this subject are going to be paying attention to this mega-popular TV show. I know I am. -So when they make you feel fuzzy, warm emotions, to NOT have that happen with directed purpose would represent a huge wasted opportunity. I suspect that's unlikely.

Also.., I've noticed a strong trend in popular media. The solution to stress is Drinking! Gosh! Simply ALL the cool kids are doing it. Keep an eye out for that not-so-subtle message. It pops up half a dozen times in every popular TV show. Looks like somebody wants us stupid and discombobulated.

TV sucks.
