UK election surprise: Manchester terror attack (and others)

Re: Another incident in the UK: Van hits pedestrians on London Bridge

Geeze, those terrorists are desperate to scare people into voting for the Tories! I wonder why that is?

Added: I merged this topic with the Manchester attack to keep the discussion in one place.

A bit of a reminder to people of 'why they need us':

'Run, hide, tell': What to do in a terror attack

Run - to a place of safety. If there is nowhere to go then...
Hide - Turn your phone to silent and turn off vibrate. Barricade yourself in if you can
Tell - the police by calling 999 when it is safe to do so

The Metropolitan Police have issued a warning to "run, hide tell" in the wake of multiple coordinated terror attacks at London landmarks on Saturday night.

At least two people have been killed and multiple people injured after a white van ploughed into pedestrians on at London Bridge, with attackers reportedly then stabbing people on the street.

More people were understood to have been stabbed in an attack at nearby Borough Market, where restaurants and pubs were evacuated by armed police.

The incident remains ongoing, as police hunt for the perpetrators.

Police have issued a warning to Londoners to get to a place of safety and tweeted information on what to do in a terror attack: (see 'Run Hide Tell' twitt in article)

In the wake of a series of terror attacks in Paris last year, The National Counter Terrorism Security Office (Nactso) published advice on what to do in a gun and bomb attack.

'Escape if you can'

Counter-terror officials released tips on how to behave in an attack, urging people to "escape if you can" - rather than lying down - or to barricade themselves into a safe place with their phones on silent.

The document outlined what to do in "response to a fast moving incident such as a firearms or weapons attack" and also advised businesses to develop procedures for what Nactso called a "dynamic lockdown" to stop armed terrorists entering a site.

It followed evidence from victims of the assault on the Bataclan music hall, where gunmen burst in and fired indiscriminately at the crowd.

Several survivors told how they dropped to the floor and remained still as the massacre claimed the lives of 89 music fans and injured scores more.

'Be quiet, silence your phone'

But the Nactso guidance said those caught up in such an attack should "escape if you can", "insist others leave with you" and "leave belongings behind".

In the event that escape routes are cut off, then officials advise finding cover from the gunfire behind "substantial brickwork or heavy reinforced walls" as "cover from view does not mean you are safe, bullets go through glass, brick, wood and metal".

After finding a hiding place, victims should "be quiet, silence your phone" and barricade themselves in before phoning 999 and reporting the location, details about the suspects and whether there are any hostages and casualties.

It's disheartening and sad to read about yet another crazy killing incident, this time in London. From the descriptions, it sounds like this one was designed to cause the maximum amount of horror: a bunch of crazy men running around with machetes stabbing people randomly. One witness told how a girl was stabbed 10-15 times!

Looking at Twitter, it seems that whoever pulled this off, got just the response they wanted. Here's one of many similar tweets:

I don't want to light candles and sing songs, I want something to be done about these f**kers!! #LondonAttack #londonBridge

6 civilians were killed, 30 are injured from the attacks. Predictably, the 3 attackers are also dead:

From RT updates:

Six victims have died and over 30 have been taken to the hospital after a terrorist attack on London Bridge. Police say that the three perpetrators, who mowed down civilians in a van, before getting out and going on a stabbing spree, have been killed.

03:20 GMT
The London Ambulance Service now says that over 30 patients are being treated at five hospitals in London, up from a figure of "at least 20" given earlier during the night.

03:15 GMT
Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley has given the fullest picture so far of the attack.

The Metropolitan Police said they first received calls at 22:08 pm on Saturday night, when bystanders said that a white van rammed into a group of civilians on London Bridge, before crashing into a railing near Borough Market.

“The suspects then left the vehicle and a number of people were stabbed
, including an on-duty British Transport Police officer who was responding to the incident at London Bridge. He received serious but not life-threatening injuries. His family has been informed,” said a statement from Scotland Yard.

Police say that the attackers were dead “within eight minutes” of the first emergency call.

“Armed officers responded very quickly and bravely, confronting three male suspects who were shot and killed in Borough Market. The suspects had been confronted and shot by the police within eight minutes of the first call. The suspects were wearing what looked like explosive vests but these were later established to be hoaxes,” said the Met Police.

02:54 GMT
Police say that they "believe" that three men were responsible for the terror attack - all three have been shot dead by security forces. Officials left the caveat that "more work" needed to be done on investigating the incident.

In addition, six civilians died as the result of the vehicular assault, and the stabbings that followed.

Truly and utterly maddening!

Unfortunately it's very sad what happened in London yesterday, it's a tragedy, the ugliest part being that those truly guilty of this heynous attack will get away with this, i'm speculating here but the whole thing smells just false flag. I will like to share with you what happened in my town yesterday evening almost at the same time when the attack happened in London. I live in Turin, Italy and yesterday evening there was the champions league match between Juventus and Real Madrid so while i was heading to work the streets we're full of people who were watching the game at the local bars, since my workplace is located near downtown, usually i'm going at work by foot, so yesterday when i almost reached the downtown i saw a lot of people scared, panicked that were running from the downtown towards my direction, i got a little confused so i tried to ask to some guys on the street if something happened, one guy told me that it seems that in the main square, where there were at least 30k people who were watching the game, an explosion occurred, and people panicked and run away in all directions. When i arrived at work (i'm working in a hotel), the place was FULL of people who were confused, scared, under shock, someone hurt, i was really perplexed, i tried to ask my coworkers if they knew anything and one of them told me that it seems that in the main square someone played a bad joke, throwing in an underground parking lot some very loud petards that got people panicked thinking that a bomb has just exploded. So it was at that moment when another coworker approached us and told that few minutes ago a terror attack happened in London, when i heard it my jaw dropped because of the time coincidence of both events, in my town and the attack in London. I don't want to go nuts here, but it really amazed me the fact that while there was a real terror attack in London almost at the same time in my town occurred a false terror attack that got people so scared as if it happened for real. I remember that C's were saying in one of the sessions that when an attack occurs from 4D STS to a specific location, the energy of the said attack may have consequences on different regions of the planet also, so i was just thinking that maybe both events may be correlated somehow, it's just a speculation. Excuse me if i've gone too off topic, i wanted just to share with you this odd event that happened yesterday.

Thank you Windmill knight, I wasn't sure where to add it as I last night it wasn't clear whether this was going to be pained as another terrorist incident or not. I assumed it would as people were marking themselves as 'safe' on Facebook during "the attack in London" (which is an interesting feature that I noticed for the first time after the Paris shootings). Not to mention that this was another incident involving a van, which is exactly the method used during the Westminster attack. Creative they are

Targeting London for the second time is interesting as (in my quite subjective experience) London seems to have a large Labour following. This is the case with a lot of my friends who post pro-Labour or anti-Tory content on social media. I also noticed that people put 'Vote Labour' signs in their windows in my Local area. I didn't see even one 'Vote Tory' sign and I was specifically looking out for them. Last weekend I was visiting a friend in an entirely different part of the city with completely different ethnic demographics to where I live and it was exactly the same in terms of Labour following.

I did a quick online search and found that the opposite information is being communicated in the news, for example this online search result. I do hope others notice this too but a colleague told me on Friday that outside London the Tories do have large following so I guess people may not be very surprised if the Conservative party wins.

I don't want to make definite statements though. In the recent 13 May 2017 Session someone said that the official results of the French elections were in their opinion close to what the public wanted just because their social circle had such political preferences (here or here) - so I don't want to make the same mistake.

These type of situation is really scary, as dangerous as an terrorist attack. Look at this video:

I have the feeling that this summer we will see many attacks on crowds.

As authorities searched for suspects, police announced on Twitter that officers were also responding to reports of stabbings in Borough Market — not far from the bridge. Police reported shots had been fired.

Holly Jones, a BBC reporter who happened to be at the bridge when the incident occurred about 10:30 p.m., described what happened for BBC News: “A white van driver came speeding — probably about 50 mph — veered off the road into the crowds of people who were walking along the pavement.”

“He swerved right around me and then hit about five or six people,” she added. “He hit about two people in front of me and then three behind.”

“We saw a car and a few bodies,” Curry said. “Police flooded the area really quickly. … We heard a bit of gunshots.”

I'm sorry you were so close to the events Andre'. It makes a much deeper impact to experience such things first hand - even if it's seeing the confusion and shock of others, like you did.

I found information about the Turin UEFA attack on MSM, for example here, so far I haven't seen anything on other news sites.

I agree that the overlapping timing of these events is suspicious but they are most likely a part of a coordinated global agenda. We should ALL be scared!

As for the impact of the terrorist attacks on the UK elections, Sputnik reported that they definitely want to go ahead with them despite all the terrorist attacks. Well, of course they do, all that terrorist effort cannot go to waste

https://sputniknews.com/europe/201706041054291731-uk-london-terror-june-election/
The general election, which are due to take place on Thursday, will not be postponed despite the terror attacks, London Mayor Sadiq Khan said Sunday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Saturday, at 10:08 p.m. local time (21:08 GMT), a vehicle struck pedestrians on London Bridge. The vehicle with three suspects continued to drive from London Bridge to Borough Market, after which the suspects left the vehicle and carried out a stabbing attack at the market. The attackers were confronted by the police and shot dead within minutes.

"They want to stop us enjoying the freedoms that we have, they want to stop us voting on Thursday in the general election, we can’t allow them to do that," Khan said as quoted by the Guardian newspaper.

"Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the next few days, some of it armed officers," the mayor added.

According to the local authorities, at least six people were killed and 48 more injured.

The Muslim terror meme is the largest and most successful gaslighting operation we have ever seen.

It is like clockwork now and nobody really seems to get it.
1) Carry out a terror attack
2) Have mainstream channels preach tolerance, sadness, and potray a weak pathetic 'soft on terror' image.
3) Let the right wingers get rightfully angry and direct all that anger towards Muslims as a whole.
4) Let the fear and 'grass-roots' anti-muslim sentiment spread and fester for a while.
5) Repeat

Eventually the common people are gonna be begging for their 'soft on terror' rulers to finally get rid of the Muslim problem.

It's devious and cunning in such a way that it is impossible for most humans to figure out.

And despite all the talk about remaining strong and united in the face of terror. As we can see from the Italy thing, it is not true. People are terrified.

Eventually it will be like a pavlovian dog thing where all they have to do to disrupt a protest is drop a few firecrackers.

It really is a horrible picture when you see it.

I think you've hit the nail on the head here. I saw the Italy event on the TV and it was shocking to see the panic! Then there's the advice from the police run, and hide, turn the phone off. It's just ridiculous we really do look powerless to stop this.

The public are starting to s**t themselves. We are of to a small venue to see a band tonight with friends. Both my wife and I have had the same thought this morning whether it is safe. You can't help but have these thoughts. This is only going to get worse and it's certainly going to be an interesting few days as we can start to review the developing reactions.

I can't help thinking that there may well be another push in the propaganda coming soon. Anyway nothing is surprising now. It really is depressing and personally I can't see a way out. All you can do is observe the events but it's painful to watch for sure.

I think you've hit the nail on the head here.

Yes that's a good recap of the overall devious and cunning schema right there. Basically divide and conquer. A further step into dividing the population to extreme left and extreme right around the "issue" of Muslims. It describes exactly the point Joe made in his recent article here.

The Muzzies Are Coming! Adopt a Refugee!

A quote from the article:

Joe Quinn said:
The important point here is that you can always tell you're being set up when the only option you seem to have is to pick one side of a polemic, hunker down and wait for the shooting to start.

While both sides of the debate are convinced they have the truth, what they really have are mere perspectives. Then again, most of what passes for truth these days exists first as perspective. When the perspectives of large numbers of people coalesce into an ideology, especially a reactionary ideology, that perspective can become 'the truth' when many people act out or participate in the ideology, creating 'facts on the ground' which then become part of a new reality. And reality is 'true', right?

But these kinds of reality shifts usually occur in the context of heightened emotion, fear, insecurity and anger among the general population. In that state people are not thinking but merely acting on emotions that are a reaction to conditions that may have been engineered (to some extent) to provoke the specific reaction. When people find themselves in a new unpleasant reality they are wont to wonder 'how did things get like this?' What they generally fail to notice is the long process of conditioning to which they were subjected, and also that things can, and likely will, get much worse if they continue to respond without thinking to the manufactured conditions with which they are presented.

Consider the situation in Europe today. You have several large European nations with significant percentages of Muslim citizens (6 million in France). In addition there is a growing number of non-citizen Muslim refugees (aka 'immigrants'). Fifteen years of the war on Muslim terrorism in which millions of Muslims in Middle Eastern nations have been slaughtered by Western militaries and many brutal terror attacks on European soil attributed to 'al-Qaeda' or 'ISIS' have successfully created a definite anti-Muslim bias among white European citizens. Conditions are therefore ripe for widespread support of pogroms of some description against Muslims in Europe, not just 'suspected jihadis' but ALL Muslims. Apparently some white Europeans think this would be a good idea, and are actively lobbying for such measures by mindlessly repeating catchphrases like 'Islam is not compatible with Western culture' or 'there's something wrong with Islam', etc.

Maybe the problem is that those who lived through the last serious conflict on European soil are now dead and there's no one to remind us that war is not 'fun'. That there are no winners. That the biggest casualties in any war are civilians and war does not discriminate between religious beliefs or skin color; everyone suffers. The point being, Europeans who rabble-rouse about Islam being a threat to European values should consider that their 'perspective' could easily lead to a 'civil war' scenario between Muslims and non-Muslims in European countries. That is to say, a civil war on YOUR doorstep between Muslims and YOU.

The cause of most of humanity's suffering, on an individual and collective basis, is a lack of truth. But is there a truth that applies to all? Jordan Peterson has suggested that there is. Truth is whatever is good for the society of which each person is an integral part. What is good for any society? The answer to that may be more complex, but avoiding war or the destruction of society would seem to be unquestionably a good thing. Avoiding, i.e. not encouraging in any way, internecine conflict, is therefore the fundamental responsibility of every single person on this planet, and that process starts with careful consideration of your 'perspective', where you got it from and whether or not it is good for you AND your fellow citizens AND your society as a whole.

A day before this latest attack in London one of the biggest Rock festivals in the world was evacuated in Germany, because of a Terror Threat. From Wiki:

Germany's Rock am Ring Festival Evacuated After Terror Threat

Organizers and police shut down fest's opening day following "concrete evidence of a possible terror threat," hope to resume Saturday

The Rock am Ring Festival in Nuerburg, Germany was evacuated Friday following a terror threat at the festival grounds.

Live Music After Manchester

In the wake of the horrific Ariana Grande concert bombing, fans and the industry face tough questions
"Due to a terrorist threat the police have advised us to interrupt the festival," organizers said in a statement. "We ask all festival visitors to leave the festival in a calm and controlled manner towards the exits and camping grounds. We have to support the police investigations."

Even though security presence at the festival was increased to 1,200 officers following the terror attack on an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, Rock am Ring was evacuated following "concrete evidence of a possible terror threat," police said in a statement (via CNN).

Liam Gallagher and Rammstein were among the artists scheduled to perform Friday.

According to the Daily Star, after organizer Marek Lieberberg appeared onstage to tell festivalgoers they must evacuate due to the terror threat, attendees started chanting "terror is shit, shalalala" and singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" as the crowd of 85,000 people headed toward the exits. Bomb-sniffing dogs were also spotted on scene.

In a follow-up statement, Rock am Ring organizers were hopeful that the festival would resume as scheduled on Saturday.

"The organizers of Rock am Ring and the police are working nightshifts to take all necessary measures to guarantee a safe festival. More detailed information will be announced tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the press conference of the Ministry of the Interior of Rhineland-Palatinate," organizers said.

"We will inform you as soon as we have confirmed information about the possible continuation of the festival. Unfortunately we have to rely on external sources for these information. We all hope to rock on together tomorrow."
