Dans le monde des débats je pense que les Africains sont les meilleurs. C'est un plaisir de les écouter pour plusieurs raisons : ce sont des participants très bien informés qui n'ont pas peur des mots, qui s'expriment avec vivacité, qui nous enseignent sur l'histoire de l'Afrique. Formidable. Et ce qui arrive au Niger est l'occasion parfaite pour aborder le sujet du colonialisme en Afrique.
Bien sûr, la France est sur le point de mire. Je me souviens que j'ai lu dans le livre sur le totalitarisme d'Hannah Arendt que le pire des totalitarismes a été celui de la France. J'ai eu de la difficulté de la croire jusqu'au jour que j'ai lu le livre d'Antonio Lozano sur l'assassinat de Sankara. Son livre est présenté comme un thriller politique et c'est aussi un roman qui parle de ce que les Français ont fait aux colonies, comment ils ont assassiné, torturé toute opposition aux Français. Comment ils ont massacré des populations. Le livre d'Antonio Lozano est formidable.
Voici un article sur ce roman, qui a reçu le Prix International du roman policier mais ce que nous apprenons à lire ce livre est mil fois plus vrai que ce que nous avons appris à l'école sur l'Afrique.

J'en ai profité pour inviter Antonio à la prison pour parler de son livre et nous parler en général de ses autres romans. Il était d'une grande gentillesse et ouverture d'esprit. Déjà, il était malade, mais malgré cela, il a accepté de venir. Quand il est décédé, c'est un grand écrivain des îles Canaries qui nous a quitté. Et c'est bien triste.

It's wonderful. And what's happening in Niger is the perfect opportunity to broach the subject of colonialism in Africa.
Of course, France is in the firing line. I remember reading in Hannah Arendt's book on totalitarianism that the worst totalitarianism was that of France. I found it hard to believe until I read Antonio Lozano's book on the Sankara assassination. His book is billed as a political thriller, and it's also a novel about what the French did to the colonies, how they murdered and tortured all opposition to the French. How they massacred populations. Antonio Lozano's book is terrific.
Here's an article on this novel, which won the International Detective Novel Award, but what we learn from reading this book is a thousand times truer than what we learned at school about Africa.
By the way, I knew Antonio Lozano personally and at the prison we read, in my book club, his book about Sankara. I took the opportunity to invite Antonio to the prison to talk about his book and his other novels in general. He was extremely kind and open-minded. He was already ill, but despite that, he agreed to come. When he passed away, we lost a great writer from the Canary Islands. And that's very sad.

George Soros' Open Society Foundation (OSF), now controlled by his son Alexander, will cease most of its operations in
.The decision, taken after Foundation-funded NGOs transported migrants to Europe for more than a decade, comes after news of at least a 40% reduction in staff following the takeover by Alexander.
According to a letter sent to its beneficiaries in Hungary (seen and reported by the Bloomberg Agency), OSF evokes a “radical change of strategic orientation”.
Once at $25 billion, OSF says its new operating model will require

I was watching a French YouTube video yesterday of a woman doing regressive hypnosis about things happening after the summer break. The woman under hypnosis sees the rise of a new virus and the re-introduction of restrictions in October that will affect mostly the young. I took some notes about the main points discussed in the video fwiw:
- Potential new virus outbreak starting in October
- It will affect mostly children and young adults, not necessarily everyone but it will still have an incidence on the entire population
- They will try to re-introduce restrictions, also new types of restrictions although she cannot see which ones. It will affect mostly schools and universities
- They will start showing statistics again and threaten to implement stricter plans if the numbers don't improve
- It will be very stressful for parents especially. Some will take their kids out of schools and will look for alternative solutions, like creating associations with parallel teaching systems
- There will be a lot of confusion, nothing will be clear with lots of contradictions, like one day they announce lockdowns and the next day not. The situation will become aberrant where there is info released about the dangers of the vaccine and at the same time they will try to impose it
- Despite the fear and the divisions, there is still hope. More people will come to their senses and look for solutions
- How you react will depend on your sate of mind. If you observe, adapt and take measures accordingly, it will be more fluid and easier. For others, changing their mindset will be harder. It requires another vision of life.
