Shearwater - The World In 1984

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hLP0udh9nk&feature=related

"When our column advanced, and we saw what we'd done, we were sure that we could never tell the folks back home," said my father to me, I had just turned sixteen, and we were walking from my school to his apartment alone. And he said, "You'd think the world you're in would always remain, but some worlds can just disappear. Some worlds you enter just for seconds at a time, and some last until you're forgiven."

I like this music very much :)
5.10 minutes into this music I get goose bumpes. I remembered the hobbits' village, I just loved that village from the movie.
I remembered how Gandalf smoked his pipe :cool2: and I start missing my pipe. (it's a pity I don't have it here where i'm now :()

Always liked this song. I think there is no 'time' at least as we ordinarily understand and perceive it (I think Gurdjieff referred to it as the "unique subjective" phenomenon) but at the same time it sometimes seems to me that any moment of time can feel like it contains all of eternity!

The Kelly Family - I Can't Help Myself

If I would tell you
How much you mean to me
I think you wouldn't understand it
so I wait, I wait
Until this day comes
When you will understand me

But I can't help myself
I can't stop myself
I am going crazy
And I can't stop myself
Can I control myself
I am going crazy

Chorus:
And I love you
I want you
I wanna talk to you
I wanna be with you
And I love you
I want you
I wanna talk to you
I wanna be with you

I cannot change it
I'm sure not making it
One big hell of a fuss
I cannot turn my back
I've got to face the fact
Life without you is hazy

Chorus

Kiss me thrill me don't say goodbye
Hold me love me don't say goodbye
Oh oh oh don't say goodbye

But I can't help myself
and I can't stop myself
I am going crazy
I cannot turn my back
I've got to face the fact
Life without you is hazy

Chorus

Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Kiss me goodbye

"I Found My Way" - Sally Dworsky

(from the ending credit of The Wizard - a movie that I've just watched after not having seen it for more than 20 years)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxskjuRxQyQ

I'm traveling blind
Trapped in darkness,
Kept tryin' to find
Easy rules to win the game.

Goin' round and round
In old disguise,
So full of doubt.

But I'm turnin' around
'cause now it's my time.
I'm standing on the edge
Of tomorrow.

Leaving far behind my yesterdays
Its shadow's disappearing
As mornin' light is nearing
And tomorrow will be more
Than just another day.
I've found my way.

Playing it safe for a long time
So afraid
To find the courage to believe
But with each new day
I find the urge to face the pain.

Now it's time for a change
I swear, it's my turn
I'm standing on the edge
Of tomorrow.

Leaving far behind my yesterdays
Its shadow's disappearing
As mornin' light is nearing
And tomorrow will be more
Than just another day.
I've found my way.

And now
With a love I can't explain
Somehow
He gave me faith to find the way
Standing on the edge
Of tomorrow.

Leaving far behind my yesterdays
Its shadow's disappearing
As mornin' light is nearing
And tomorrow will be more
Than just another day.
I've found my way.

If we only have love
Then tomorrow will dawn
And the days of our years
Will rise on that morn
If we only have love
To embrace without fears
We will kiss with our eyes
We will sleep without tears
If we only have love
With our arms open wide
Then the young and the old
Will stand by our side
If we only have love
Love that's falling like rain
Then the parched desert earth
Will grow green again
If we only have love
For the hymn that we shout
For the song that we sing
Then we'll find our way out
If we only have love
We can reach those in pain
We can heal all our wounds
We can use our own names
If we only have love
We can melt all the guns
And then give our new world
To our daughters and sons
If we only have love
Then Jerusalem stands
And then death has no shadow
There are no foreign lands
If we only have love
We will never bow down
We'll be tall as the pines
Neither heroes nor clowns
If we only have love
Then we'll only be men
And we'll drink from the Grail
To be born once again
Then with nothing at all
But the little we are
We'll have conquered all time
All space, the sun, and the stars.

Julian Lage: Smile
Young virtuoso jams exquisitely on an oldie but goodie (volume needs to go way up as recording is very low)

Haggard - "Per Aspera Ad Astra"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3KbieUk9gw

The entire album ("Epur Si Muove") is about Galileo Galilei and his trials with the church inquisition. One of the best Symphonic metal albums in my opinion.

In that album, in the song "The Observer" they quote Galileo at the begining of the song:

"I do not feel obliged to believe
that the same God who has endowed us
with sense, reason and intellect
has intended us to forgo their use"

Thanks for the link, Julian Lage has a real talent - up there with Metheny, Benson, McLaughlin etc.

Did you see this one featuring Lage's trio?

added: and this one is just stunning (at least to my ears :) )
