What's the weather where you are?

we had a big storm today, in 2 hours and a river behind the house grew, electricity was gone for 6 hours, :scared:
The storms in July grew larger and larger doing many floods in various areas .... in the day could have high or low temperatures, the weather is crazy, and in the night the temperatures falls many degrees :/

Very hot in Croatia, the temperature should drop by the end of the next week, or so they say.

First time in my area (South Japan) we had tornado warning! Also the heat for the last two months reaching 41°C (106°F) sunny day and 32°C (90°F) at night is indescribable. If is raining, then just few big drops for short time. :(

I hope that you have air conditioning! I wouldn't be able to sleep in that kind of heat.

I have a feeling once this winter commences, we'll be longing nostalgically for this "very hot" summer. Cold is much much worse than heat I think. Far more dangerous to life and survival.

Also, "sheets of rain"...will perhaps turn into mountains of snow. Not a pleasant thought.

Also very hot here in North of Italy ,in fact in all of Italy ,in some cities located to the center south of the country the temperatures arrive till 40 C-42 C its like almost 3 week so hot ,I've found some weather articles where it was written that is so hot because of some anticyclone from Africa and the problem is that because of some anomaly it persists over Italy and doesn't want to go away, in theory from wendsday on will start to rain and really i hope that temperatures will return to normal i can't stand it anymore :( , I'm sweating a lot like a very lot so at work its uncomfortable that's why i just hope that the temperatures will return to normal soon.

Found this impressive vidclip of a spectacular thunderstorm passing alongside the Belgian coast at Knokke-Le-Zoute on August 5 2013 around 20.30-21.00 hours.

In my part of Germany we've been having very hot temperatures these last few weeks (yet often it seemed the air was humid), and just a little while ago a violent thunderstorm has started, with masses of rain falling down. As has been mentioned, with this amount of humiditiy in the atmosphere, the coming winter will be difficult.

The weather in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US has turned really cool for August - barely reaching 70 degree F today where I live. It is supposed to be the Dog Days of Summer and hot and humid. Looks like the next ten days are forecasted to be low to mid eighties. I like it cooler, but not normal.

At the moment and till the end of the week we are supposed to have a sunny and hot weather. But I listen to the Russian news, and apparently many regions there suffer from extensive flooding, due to heavy rains. Especially in the far East, near the border with China. People there are stranded for several days already.

Things have been "electrified" here in Mexico City lately. There's a lot of heat but also lots of rain and an increased and unusual electric activity, lots of people are noticing it. This last week electric activity has decreased a little but the sporadic heavy rains are still here.

There has also been damage and floods in some parts in northern Mexico:

the sad but intersting thing is that this year happened a lot of rain inundations almost everywhere ,India,China,Western,Easter,Central Europe,Canada,USA,UK... and in almost everywhere it rained like it broke the records from the last 50 to 500 years(in Germany for example), i also think that this winter may be pretty tough.

Here in Zagreb it was around 37 Celsius for the last week and this one, it is very unbearable, on the work there is air conditioning but you sweat any way because thermometer is showing that it is 29 Celsius degrees inside. Colder weather lasted until may this year which was longer then usual not mentioning that snowfall was above record high for some days in winter. Then from may there was abrupt transition to warm weather and it was changing somewhat since then with rainy weather. I remember that last summer was very hot so the winter was very cold. Now the weather is extremely hot so you don t need to be expert to know what is coming in winter.

After a week or so of pretty high temps, we had a thunderstorm last night and today, doesn't look like it is going to get any hotter than about 23 or 24 at the most (81/82 F). Cloudy and looks like it might rain again.

Well, the plants are all very happy but a couple of our doggies were very nervous all day yesterday with the building electricity. By the time it started storming, my collie girl was in my bedroom begging to get up on the bed. So, we brought her up and let her lay on the foot, but next thing we knew, she had crawled up between us and was wanting to be petted and soothed. After things calmed down a bit, we put her down but she slept in our room all night. I think she does this because, as a baby, she was raised in my bedroom and we carried her down to go out several times a day while she was being potty trained. Now, when she gets sick or upset, she always comes to our room.

Anyway, the point is that there was something unusual yesterday and last night because she doesn't always react this way to storms and has never been traumatized by them or exposed to anybody acting afraid of thunder and lightning.

Absolutely! It looks like as if being inside some plasma experiment chamber. No wonder people were so scared.
