What's the weather where you are?

Here in the Caribbean, it has been a quieter than usual Hurricane Season. That's good no hurricanes, but the storms bring plenty of water, this is considered our rainy season. Hardly any rain and hotter than usual, in the lower 100's.

Last year at the same time we had the first watery snow. It was cold and uncomfortable.

The last couple of days it was a warm sunny golden October. What a contrast! Today we had a colourful sunset again. The light seemed to be a little orange.

Sometimes in the last months there was a very orange light during sunset. I saw the first one at summer 2011. During the last few months I saw a lot of very orange / reddish sunsets and sunrises. There were colorful sunrises even if there was a fine sunny day afterwards. Both I never used to see something like this before. There seem to be a lot of additional dust around the earth causing these...

During the same time I saw some clouds, which seemed to be illuminated from within. And the sun was not behind them but in a different place in the sky. Perhaps ice particles reflecting sun light? There were also sharp contrasts between the different colours of these clouds. "Normal clouds" colours merge much more smoothly.

Crazy weather this year. First we had winter until after Easter. Then we had a lot of rain with floods. A (sometimes) very hot summer followed that lasted into August. Afterwards a normal fall...

Generally cold as you'd expect in autumn. More rain and wind in general.

The weather went from warm/hot to cool/cold in a matter of days. I went straight for the winter coat as of last week or so.

Nothing out of the ordinary though so far, or so it seems. We'll see how winter goes on the other hand.

Here in Dalmatia there is a kind of October summertime/springtime so certain blokes are still going to beach :-[. And it is very likely that this is to continue all through this week... Nothing too unusual

One more curious meteorological caprice - but from Japan: it seems that some Typhoon was "lost" somehow over there!

One commenter:
Thank you again, this time for following up your previous post on this subject. I can confirm from here and the JMA radar that indeed the typhoons seemed to be chased away into the Pacific, both suddenly taking right-angle turns. They were supposed to make landfall at the end of the weekend, then it was the weekend. The weekend turned out to be sunny and virtually cloudless.
If this was due to your 'good guys', tell 'em thank you for me. Now I can ride my bike to work this week!
I can also confirm there is a deafening silence from the media. Usually typhoons get as much coverage as a mass shooting. They must be taking their time trying to come up with an explanation the public will buy~

Added:
Some thoughts about "coincidental" buildup of tensions between Japan and China - you know like: if you do not comply to "our" demands we will let loose the Typhoon... hm

Here's a few weather changes from various places that I think haven't been on sott.

A heavy storm here in The Netherlands, especially along the coast with winds of more than 120 km/hour. I think it is pretty scary. The wind is howling and we can feel the windows and wooden beams vibrate. There are loud bangs coming from the roof that I have never heard before. :scared:

In Florida, it's been colder mornings (60 F) and windy for about a week. It does warm up during the day (70 to 80 F) before cooling down again at night.

I heard on the news today that this storm is moving toward UK, and apparently it's going to be a strongest storm in half a century or more. Please take care of yourself! :hug2:

90% of the trains didn't leave, because there were branches of trees on the rails. Wonder what happens if a bigger storm than this would come along... Stay safe Mariama!

We had a few hours ago in Copenhagen a very powerful storm, winds reaching 90-100 km per hour. In my zone, there are dozens of fallen trees, trains stopped, damages.

Thanks for the good wishes!
I felt really relieved when the wind started to subside. I did cancel an appointment, because the winds here in the countryside are pretty strong. Well, I think 120 km/h is pretty strong...
My eldest son explained where the loud bangs came from and it wasn't anything dramatic. :D
We do have a tiny bit of damage, but all in all, I feel very lucky that we have come through it unscathed. The trees and the plants are all intact, which is pretty amazing.

Germany was also hit by the storm.

Thank you, Mariama, for the link you provided. Looks like a very unusual storm. I hope that the missing boy will be found alive and well. It's really hard to watch all of this devastation, and I'm really sorry that so many were killed, and suffering. Hopefully, this storm will subside soon. To all who are living in Northern Europe please be safe and well. Best wishes to all of you and :hug2:

Here, in Los Angeles, the weather report promised heavy rain day before yesterday for the whole day next day. It didn't happened. There were heavy clouds in the sky. Today it was mostly sunny, a little bit cooler temperatures, and that had happened around Halloween pretty much every year (at least for the last 5 years or so).

Here in Belgium, after a summer that lasted for 4 months (extremely rare here where we're usually extremely lucky if we have 10 days of sun in a row), autumn definitely arrived a few weeks ago. Last Monday we had a violent storm, much like what Mariama was describing. The weather has been notably much colder suddenly and it seems like winter will begin early.
