What's the weather where you are?

I wonder if other places in the world are experiencing rather fair weather for this time of the year, as we do in the southern Alps of France.
Not too hot, not too dry, not cold etc. Just quite alright, nothing weird...
Are we the only ones ?

Here in Dalmatia we had 37 days in raw of very hot days (above 35°C) - but nobody complained much since it is summer...Ten days ago temperatures drop below 30°C due to cooling north-east wind we here call 'bura' (boora ) and after that we had few quite rainy days - so it was rather pleasant refreshment for us locals...

The sky offered me this strange spectacle some minutes ago, here in my region. Beautiful. and strange?

Great pic, Loreta!

It has gone now from cool nights and warm days to VERY HOT. It was 39.2C today which is about 102-103 F. It's 28 in the house because we have all the windows and shutters closed. Supposed to cool down to 21 overnight, and then back up again tomorrow to 31-33 and thunderstorms. Maybe some of Loreta's clouds are coming?

I have lived in central Texas for 25 years and this is the mildest summer I can remember for this area.

We are having highs mostly in the mid to upper 90s with only a few days so far over 100. We have even had several days with highs in the upper 80s - in July! Except for a very nice rain a couple of weeks ago, we remain pretty dry though.

In the years I have lived here, we usually have many days over 100 and no days in July where it did not at least get to 95. Our (window unit) air conditioners are having an easy time maintaining an inside temp of a cool 78 this year. Normally they struggle to maintain inside temp of 81.

I do not know what broadcast TV has been reporting as I do not watch it. We have our own thermometer and keep track with that.

Not before Saturday best case scenario apparently for us too in the North East, it is 21h20 now and it is still 28°C ... :(

Tomorrow it will be worst than today (38°C in the car today ... )

Thanks!

The fact is that like a big thunderstorm wanted to come but hesitated to exploded completely. I love thunderstorms more than chocolate. Yesterday the sky was angry with alot of lightnings and thunders but to no avail. We expected a big thunderstorm Saturday, yuppy!!!

By the way... In England the sun is very present. ;)

Here in Texas it is very hazy. On our local weather it says the winds are bringing dust from the African Sahara! We get dust and smoke from Mexico all the time, but Africa? :O EPA says this is fine, but after working outside all day I cant stop sneezing.

Here is the link showing the wind pattern. http://austin.ynn.com/content/weather/

Is this new or just something I have not read before?

Huh, well our local news station (Oregon) claims the haze
in the NW is caused from wildfires raging in Siberia...

It was unusually hazy here in N Tx today. There was a lot of cloud cover, but not our normal fluffy clouds. More like layers of flat dusty coloured cloud. It is also getting really hot again - over 100 degrees most of the week. Am wondering if some of the dust is coming from the Arizona haboob that happened a few days ago. Couldn't find any thing about on the weather stations, though.

Here in the English midlands, we have enjoyed a lovely week of summer :) - mid 20's and sunny, which has been a welcome change to the almost persistant rain of recent months. Though the forecast is for more rain in coming days :(

just over a month ago we had a mimi-tornado near us and massive thunderstorms, and so much localised flooding! having a 4 x 4 truck is becoming very useful!

After looking at these images from nasa, its amazing any of us can breathe at all! All the fire and dust everywhere is crazy. I wonder how much of the fire is from the sky?

A couple days of relief from the heat here in central plains US. But just barely. Highs Low 90s F/34 C instead of low 100s F/39c like it has been for several weeks. Two nights when it was cool enough to turn off the AC and open the windows. Good sleeping. Forecast is for 100F tomorrow.

No significant rain in a long time. The grass is mostly brown, flowering plants withered, very few insects or birds around. Even a few trees losing leaves. Spotty thunderstorms that last 15 minutes, dries up also in about 15 minutes.

Mac

Edit: added two lines.

Finally the thunderstorms arrived and they say that we will have more in August. :D Hear the sky is a very beautiful and relaxing experience. The fury coming from the atmosphere or stratosphere or whatever give energy!

We got it too last night, huge storm right over our heads, I thought the house would craked in two parts :P
Now it is a refreshing 24°C, meaning 14 less degrees than yesterday

That's the way hahun hahun, I like it

Here in Massachusetts, we are having a drought, although nothing like in the midwest and southern states.

I was talking to the worker where I buy my grass-fed meat at and he said that they did get the first cutting of hay, but the second cutting is all dried up and brown. There is a farm in a different city that they couldn't even get their first cutting as it all dried up and died. He says he doesn't understand why there is no mention of this drought on the news.

We have had forecasts of rain and thunderstorms throughout the spring and summer and end up either getting nothing, or very little. That big storm, the derecho, that was suppose to hit the east and southern part of New England the last couple of days never materialized, at least not where I live. We did get a couple of short showers that didn't do much other than to wet the top of the dirt and leave a few puddles on the streets. The weather is cooler and cloudy now, so that's nicer. It was in the 90s and very humid.

The continuing weather forecast is for scattered thunderstorms....we'll see....
